http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d64/ConfusedCartman/ps3_littlebigplanet_1210807526_2-2.jpgWelcome to our eleventh Community Spotlight! For those of you who don't know, Community Spotlight is a way for us to show off, or "Spotlight", our favorite levels made by you! Our Spotlight Crew scours the Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=40) for the best levels they can find, then they neatly organize them in a list format to help you find and play them on your own. All of the levels have comments from each Crew member that selected that level, so you guys can get a good idea of how many Crew members enjoyed it. We removed activity limits from the last spotlight, and it worked so well we decided to keep it that way from now on! Enjoy!

Spectral Fear - Crow/Crow- - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10260)
Description:
In case you missed it. try my level spectral fear. tell me if you think I should stick to scary games. - CrowOur Thoughts:
One of most difficult things to do when creating a Little Big Planet level, is to take what is, by it's very nature, something cute and transform it into something scary. Crow has an amazing talent for this type of level creation and delivers a thoroughly frightening game experience in his level Spectral Fear. The heavily plot driven level has numerous details and many small touches that help amp up the fear factor. Crow's technical abilities can't be denied in this level either. Items being thrown around by some malevolent unseen force and hallucinogenic specters in an environment that changes along with the story line are done superbly. If that wasn't enough, there are two different endings depending on the path you choose! So venture, if you dare, into the realm of Spectral Fear. - Morgana25
I've seen a number of tribute levels for existing survival horror franchises, and I've seen numerous levels with psuedo-scary subject matter.... but this is the first level in LittleBigPlanet I've played that actually created scary, and original, content - from furniture mysteriously moving around rooms, to shadows appearing and offering you clues. So turn out the lights, flip this level on, and feel the goose bumps tingle... - CCubbage
A genuinely spooky and uneasy atmosphere is a rare thing to behold in LBP. What Crow has constructed here is a master piece of horror and suspense. With outstanding visuals and some really great effects and set pieces this level is guarenteed to both amaze and unsettle you in equal quantitys. - GrantosUKMaking Music in the Midnight Kitchen - Pitcard/Pitcard - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10111&highlight=midnight)
Description:
This isn't your usual "push a block o' sponge along in a straight line" music level. Its interactive! The music is split up into 2 bar loops. These loops spawn inside a musical Oven at the centre of the kitchen. The player is then able to trigger each loop via grab switches on top of the oven. This way the player is free to string together the different melodies of a song! He is in control of what way the song flows and is free to end the level whenever they're done.

I've also created the surrounding kitchen. Its done in a realistic style, and many of the appliances are interactive. The level is very short, that is if you don't hang around, chill out and listen to some tunes. My main focus was creating the music so I hope people won't just skip that part. - PitcardOur Thoughts:
Don't expect the traditional ride across the screen watching little speaker icons in this original level by Pitcard. He's cooking up some original compositions in this kitchen and it looks as good as it sounds. Music fans will delight at the ability to change up the melodies to personalize the tunes, eye candy junkies will appreciate the clever designs and beautifully subtle lighting and everyone will love interacting with all the little things on the counters. So drop in for some tunes at midnight and stick around for breakfast.... is that toast? Lovely! - Morgana25
Ok, it's not TECHNICALLY a game... it's an interactive music box that looks like a kitchen - a really NICE kitchen (when I decide to remodel, I'm giving you a call Pitcard!) So about a week ago I let my son play LittleBigPlanet - a little while later I come into the living room to find him switching between different simple tunes to create his own music, and then popping a toaster up and down while grooving to the beat. This level is technically impressive, beautiful, and addictive - and you may just find yourself humming the little tunes long after you've finished playing. Great job Pitcard! - CCubbage
A talent for creating outstandly beautiful levels, and also a talent for creating catchy music you'll be humming for days afterward, Pitcard certainly is a creative chap. Not strictly a level in the normal sense of the word but an enjoyable music maker with outstanding visuals that everyone should enjoy. And don't forget to pop your toast at the end of the level, unless you like it well-done of course!! - GrantosUKMedia (if available):YouTube - Making Music in the Midnight KitchenSpoooky Pinball - smasher1973/smasher1116789 - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10018&highlight=spooky+pinball)
Description:
Just wanted to put this level out there to see what people think. It's a pinball
level with a spooky atmosphere. It has everything a pinball game should. - smasher1973Our Thoughts:
Another addictive pinball level that looks as good as it plays. The playfield (area where the ball moves) is decorated in creepy stickers and other scary motifs that set the mood for spooky pinball action. Great sound effect choices, including a heartbeat for the flippers, and creepy lighting make the game even more fun. There are multiple flippers on this level that you need to pay attention to in order to get to the really good stuff! It also has a multiple ball drop that looks really cool. Don't skip the walk to the scoreboard with it's enormous bones and purple gas. Don't miss this creepy creation by Smasher1973! - Morgana25
Pinball tables never get old. There is, and always has been, an unlimited number of designs for pinball games. And in LittleBigPlanet, there's ALWAYS room for another fantastic, addictive, and well-designed pinball level. And this ones a beauty - fantastic light effects, tons of things for your ball to hit, and bones for flippers! A great addition to this pinball level is a forward track over the background table which further gives it an authentic pinball look and feel. Great job, Smasher! - CCubbageKid Rocket's Revenge - LuckyShot/LuckyShot - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8937)
Description:
Basically a mad scientist and his cripple wife and their red headed brat kid try to take over the world... - LuckyShot Our Thoughts:
The third in a series by LuckyShot, Kid Rocket's Revenge is a fast paced and challenging level with some really memorable moments. After presumably foiling Kid Rocket's Father and Mother's plots to take over the world (Mr Rocket and his Army of Bobs and Mrs Rocket's Robot Factory) it's time to take on their son. The robot design in this level is really amusing and Kid Rocket's appearance is both humorous and a little disturbing all at the same time. The platforming elements are really the best part of this level. The most notable being the clever sliding lift to rotating sponge combinations at the beginning, a great "avoid the security system" sequence with guaranteed death if botched, an outrun the security sweep section and an epic boss battle with Kid Rocket himself. LuckyShot has also generously offered an easy switch at the beginning of the level - but to really appreciate the level, you have to try it the hard way. - Morgana25
I'd love to add more story detail, but Morgana25 summed it up pretty well - an amazing level with funny humor and a great story line. This level is masterfully designed, with creative gameplay and great switch mechanics. I was enthralled by the amount of things going on here that dazzle the eyes. Fantastic job, Luckyshot - this was a really fun and entertaining experience! - CCubbageMedia (if available):http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/littlebiggallery/images/570/medium/4_A_Photo_1.jpgUltra Beginners and Girlfriends - RangerZero/RangerZero - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10311&highlight=Ultra+Beginners)
Description:
I finally finished my new level. As I always try to not repeat myself in my approaches, this one is also different from my previous levels. UB&G is intended for beginners, kids and your girlfriend that just started playing. It's kinda funny, it's cute (make me hungry actually) and I did put stuff for experienced players too. If you're good at exploring and with LBP physics you can score easily over 30 000 bubble points. - RangerZeroOur Thoughts:
RangerZero has served players a sweetly designed and ultra cute level suitable for inexperienced and experienced players alike! The promise of cake is the motivator to make your way through this sweets filled world. Inexperienced players will appreciate handy buttons that explain some of the basic LBP controls and experienced players can skip the helpful hints and get on with the business of stringing bubble combinations together. Solid platforming that is entertaining and layers of difficulty in areas that can be passed by the newest player or challenge a pro make this a great level to play with friends of any ability. So go check out your cake, he made it just for you. - Morgana25
Delightfully delicious and devilishly dainty! The gamer dudes were thinking it, and someone finally created it - a level for the youngsters to cut their teeth on platforming, as well as help the tech-challenged girlfriends and wives enjoy a colorful and tasty gaming treat! And if you're a gamer girl, please don't be offended - instead, go show RangerZero what you're made of by grabbing a top spot on the leaderboard. This level is fantastic for the youngsters, but through great gameplay and a ton of secrets can hold any gamers attention! Yummy! - CCubbage
My wife very rarely gets involved in LBP, only once in a while does she actually sit intrested, and RangerZero definetly had her instrested. Don't be fooled by the title, the level contains some really great platforming and ideas that even the more experienced player will find joy in. I loved the confectionary based design and looks. Trust me, you'll enjoy yourself more than a child in a sweet shop. - GrantosUKMedia (if available):http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq262/RangerX_photos/UBNG01.png http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq262/RangerX_photos/UBNG02.png

Coastin' in the Jungle - Coxy224/Coxy224 - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10025&highlight=coastin)
Description:
When a jungle safari goes wrong, it's up to you to get out alive! - Coxy224Our Thoughts:

A pleasant jungle coaster excursion hits a bit of a snag in this adorable level by Coxy224. The lighthearted and good natured mood of the level and fairly easy platforming really make this level fun for both kids and adults alike. Some beautiful color combinations and some excellent design work make the coaster a memorable experience. There are trees to climb and monkeys to talk to and a big gorilla to confront but don't worry, he's not too mean. A great level to check out with friends of all abilities.
- Morgana25
One of the best roller-coasters in LBP paves the way for a brilliant jungle adventure. Excellent use of materials and some great ideas drive the level forward towards a huge (and hairy) adversary. Can you help the monkeys going bananas over thier lost bananas? Load up the level and see, I promise you you'll have a great time. - GrantosUKMedia (if available):http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e56/Snoogyface/APhoto.jpg

BELOW THE ROOT - Chapter 2 : Along the Roots - mindphaser74/mindphaser74 - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10287)
Description:
You are continuing the quest to save Green-Sky (treetop village home) from the destruction of the forest and your treetop civilization. You've now left Green-Sky after not finding any answers to the problem there. The village's mayor has told you to travel to Temple Grund to seek the wisdom of the monks to determine the next course of action, but the path to Temple Grund is a long and diffucult one. The dark forest floor is riddled with various dangers and secrets. - mindphaser74Our Thoughts:
This level has an undeniable charm and beauty which drives you forward through this beautiful little world. Mindphaser74's level is definately not standard "LittleBigPlanet" fare - although it has less RPG elements than the first in the series, it is more story driven and takes longer to complete than most levels I've experienced. But what a great journey - from the below-the-ground atmosphere, to a cute town that Frank Baum would envy - to a talon-gripping bird ride... this level is something special. - CCubbage

Another great level from mindphaser74 in his Green Sky series. Unlike the first chapter, this level features a lot more platforming and a little bit of RPG game style. The look of the level is very similar to chapter 1, beautifully lit and with small details to amuse. It really feels like a continuation of the series but it has a lot of new things to do and places to explore. Keep an eye out for shells in every nook and cranny while traipsing through the roots and watch out for an interesting and icky boss at the end. This level really showcases the talent mindphaser has for planning out levels to use every plane available to him. Fans of the first level will love it and new players will appreciate the immersive atmosphere mindphaser74 has created. Don't miss it. - Morgana25
Mindphaser has come up trumps yet again with another wonderful level in the Root series. More platforming based than the last RPG-like installment it is by no means a departure from the series, but a wonderful addition. This has to be the most laid back and relaxing level I've played on LBP so far, the atmosphere, visuals and setting add to a excellent experience not to be missed at any cost. - GrantosUKMedia (if available):http://s601.photobucket.com/albums/t...view=slideshow
DEVIL MAY CRY- Tribute Levels - KoRnDawwg/KoRnDawwg - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=9985)
Description:
I have indeed made quite a few levels on LBP, three of them are levels which revolve loosely around the original Devil May Cry installment. All of them have ratings of 4/5, two of which have over a thousand plays and the new one just over a hundred. - KoRnDawwgOur Thoughts:
Anyone who has played the original Devil May Cry on PS2 will immediately feel comfortable in this series of levels by KoRnDawwg. The word stylish comes to mind, just like in the game they based on. The lighting, while on the dark side is spot on for the ruddy lighting of the original game and smart material choices remind me of old victorian wallpapers and damp crumbling castle walls. The small vignette areas are beautifully composed and perfect for a photo opportunity. The platforming is not extremely hard but entertaining and the demon design is based on but not an exact replica of the creatures from the original game. The tone of the dialogue is also deliciously sarcastic - I think Dante would feel right at home. Try out all three - or you may cry. - Morgana25
Dripping with atmosphere and an ominous intent, even people who have never played the Devil May Cry series like myself will find something to love here. From the the excellent visuals down to the platforming everything is absolutely top notch. Give the series a play, you won't regret it. - GrantosUKMedia (if available):

Little Big Fairytale - NalaCin/NalaCin - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10208)
Description:
The king needs ur help to save his daughter.

Its has a little bossbattle and lots of text bubbles to tell the story and help you on ur way through it.

Its pretty huge, and i almost used up my meter. It has taken a very very long time to get this finished beucause i wanted to make a perfect lvl ( in my opinion :-D ) that had everything, and to tell a good story. There is quite a few text bubbles on the level, but ive gotten alot of good feedback on it untill now. - NalaCinOur Thoughts:
Ahh.... A wise king, a dragon, and a princess kept prisoner in a castle - a classic fairy tale, LittleBigPlanet style. However, this level is definately not for the kiddies. It may have cute subject matter, but it's long, challenging, and contains some great secrets. - CCubbage

Damsel in distress beset by a dragon, a classic to be sure, but you can be the hero in this cute level by NalaCin. Players will be amazed at the amount of colors and textures in this level that somehow manage to all work together to make a fun and exciting atmosphere. In terms of platforming game play, I think this might have the most different types of challenges i've seen on one level. It will keep you on your toes. Check it out to test your skills and see if you are up to the challenge of making your own happy ending. - Morgana25From Siberia With Love Pt.4 and Pt.5 - GrantosUK/GruntosUK - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10480)
Description:
Part 4: After finally reaching Dr. Cloths hidden base, you have the chance to disrupt his plans by causing as much damage to his hidden base as possible. Fire up the GPS Intensifier so that HQ can get a fix on your position and then use Airstrikes to destroy the main sections of the base. Find out about WovenEye, Dr. Cloths secret weapon and move yourself one step closer to your goal.

Part 5: Now that the SSA are aware that WovenEye is not located at Dr. Cloths hidden base, 0013 has one mission, stop the Nuclear Launch. But will he have to actually help further Dr. Cloths plans to succeed? - GrantosUKOur Thoughts:
Well, the fantastic 'Siberia' series has come to a close, and we're left with the feeling that the world is once again safe from the threat of a nuclear attack. Each level of this series has produced a fantastic adventure, while maintaining consistency and extremely accessible gameplay. Even though I now know the end of the story, the well-constructed gameplay and secrets will keep me coming back. Great job, GrantosUK - you've creates one of the best level series in LittleBigPlanet! - CCubbage

Come out of the cold in grand fashion with the finale of GrantosUK's From Siberia With Love series. This series has had consistent art direction, complexity and fun factor along with an amazingly detailed story driving the action. Great puzzles, platforming, secrets and visuals make these all around fantastic levels, even for players that don't generally like paintinator fights. Playing through these levels as a series is an absolutely epic adventure you shouldn't miss. - Morgana25Media (if available):

http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr285/grantosuk/APhoto_21.jpg_tEB3Qo01KcInside the mind of a "H4H"er - Wexfordian/Wexfordian - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10494)
Description:
The level is intended to poke a bit of fun at the whole H4H thing. The level starts off as a regular H4H level (really badly designed ) but sackboy has had enough and along comes a friendly monster to help sackbooy teach his human a lesson. Sackboy jumps into the head of a H4Her and shows him all the things LBP can be used for.

The thermo filled up quicker than expectected on this one, so there is a few sparse areas but seeing as this level might take a hammering from all the angry kids out there I didn't want to spend too much time on this, as It may never really get anywhere. - WexfordianOur Thoughts:
I can't tell you whether this level will get anywhere Wex - but I CAN tell you I had an absolutely blast. Just about any author could poke fun at H4H - but only Wexfordian has found a way to jump into their brains and show them what GOOD levels look like. And he's done this through 4 (count 'em - FOUR) quality segments in which he tests our skills in a puzzle, a minigame, a race, and a boss - all beautifully done! It's been a while, but I REALLY don't remember popping pimples being this fun! Great job, I hope you can single-handedly change the face of LittleBigPlanet. - CCubbage
Enter the brain of a H4H'er and hopefully help change thier evil ways. The mini-game will amuse you, the puzzle will perplex you, the race will challenge you and the boss will definetly try and defeat you. Wexfordian shows very intelligent design, great asthetics and a great sense of humour, as well as a goal to try and change our LBP for the better. So, play the level, enjoy yourself, and hope the message gets through! - GrantosUK
In a world with H4H, what is a serious creator to do? Make a level that shows what is possible when you spend a little time and brain power of course! Wexfordian's skill as a master level builder is evident everywhere you look on this level. Great lighting, clean design, and most importantly fun challenges that test your brain and your reflexes. It's clever, it's fun and it may just change a few minds out there - what's not to love about that! - Morgana25

The Demon Lord's House of Doom (The Escape) - ApellesJr/ApellesJr - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10402)
Description:
"The Demon Lord has you locked away in his house of doom and you must find your way out and defeat him"

Pretty simple plot, but the gameplay and character design really make it a quality level in my opinion. - ApellesJrOur Thoughts:
Enter a world of some of the craziest creatures you've ever seen! In his 'Demon Lord' sequel, ApellesJr has ramped up the gameplay, created some incredibly wacky characters, and really created a fun and entertaining level. And the monstrous Demon Lord looks incredible! - CCubbage

Some of the wildest and most original character design I have ever seen is showcased in this demonic yet humorous level by ApellesJr. His boney little demon, smoke monster, and the demon lord himself are very memorable and really make this level shine. The gameplay is appears straightforward and deceptively simple looking until you try to progress only to discover that a little finesse will be required. It's a very unique level that you'll remember playing long after you've escaped the Demon Lord's House of Doom. - Morgana25
I can only add to what Cubbage and Morgana have said by saying this level contains some great, wacky, wierd and most wonderful characters that I have ever seen on LBP. Very well designed sections and great visuals catapult you along to a very bizarre custom soundtrack that only adds to the overall feel of this great level. - GrantosUKMedia (if available):O83xkxf5GXs
Shadow of the Llama - Tig-W/Tig-W - Thread (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=10524)
Description:
If you like llamas, or Shadow of the Colossus, you'll hopefully have a blast with this.

A visit to a mysterious llama shrine goes wrong, resulting in chaos and a stampede. Ends with a huge SotC-style boss battle. - Tig-W Our Thoughts:
Guaranteed to put a smile on your face throughout your time in the Llama shrine, Tig-W's characters really shine and bring the whole level to life. From the stampede to the epic boss every Llama you will meet is wonderfully bizarre, when you throw some great platforming and a couple of puzzles in the mix you get a level that you simply cannot miss. Llama fan or not, you'll love this.
- GrantosUK
Character design can make or break a level sometimes and in the case of llamas it couldn't be more true. The llamas in this heavily stylized level by Tig-W stand out as very original and full of personality and make what would be a very good platforming level into an experience not to be missed. Players will be wowed by his clockwork llamas manning the door to the shrine and amused by his quirky looking and even more quirky sounding llamas that stampede and pop out at the strangest times. The final llama boss design is also impressive and will leave you feeling very satisfied. An excellent example of a level being lifted up by fantastic character creation and a whimsical sense of humor. - Morgana25Media (if available):http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2637/aphoto5w.jpg

Stop all those spotlights, I don't have the TIME to play it all!

Seriously, congratulations to everyone on the spotlight and big thanks to the reviewers for giving us your thoughts on the latest and greatest.

This is great! Thanks to the wonderful Morgana, CCubbage and Grantos for the great feedback. I'm looking forward to checking out any of the levels on this list that has slipped past my radar 2009-04-20 09:48:00

I completely agree. I am officially now possessed to finish my latest level.

I hope but am sure we all realize how lucky we are to have such a great LBP site. I've been trolling around, and trust me, this site is the pinnacle of the LBP experience. Friendly and responsible members and mods are in abundance here. The endless talent on this site is proof that LBPC is the place to be.

Congats to all the creators (spotlight level or no), you all help to bring the community together on this perfectly awesome forum. I only wish I'd known about LBPC a long time ago.

And wow, 2 spotlights in a row for me! I thought though that the level spotlight only happened once a month... I guess I was wrong. I'll go and update my sig now

Wow, thanks everybody for the spotlight! I was feeling a bit down lately and didn't know if I wanted to make another level, but this has inspired me. (Plus apparently my level has been on page 1 of cool levels for 2 days now, but I haven't had internet for 3, so I'm sad to say I'll probably never get to see it )

Thanks to everyone who helped me out though! There are too many to mention and I'm afraid I may forget one...

Oh yeah. I did quit all other LBP site I was going because this one here is now the "LBP everything in one place stop" now. And some of the best members of this community simply converged here. It's really awesome and one of the best community / online experience i've ever had with a game.

I've been casually (and secretly) recruiting more members to LBPCentral the last couple of weeks. They were good people from other sites who needed to know about this awesome place. I hope that's ok
