Infiltrate a Plasma Factory, avoiding traps and danger as you investigate the disappearence of 234 people on these premises.

I think this level should have something for everyone, with nice visuals, cool contraptions, challenging platforming, a (rather simple) puzzle, a rocket flight, and several secret areas!

Okay, I just finished playing this. Although this level has potential, I think some work is needed. I can't comment completely because I wasn't able to finish the level.

Here's a list of what I have so far:

The first text bubble was censored. It THINKS there is a naughty word in there somewhere (this happens to people a lot because it may be one of several languages and could be a word embedded somewhere in another word).

Plasmas on stairs near the beginning - these create some incredibly touchy jumping, which will turn players off.

Key card - If you use poly for the material it will still be grabbable but would look more like a card than a pillow.

When you flip the switch, you should activate a camera that shows the key card dropping. This way, the player will know something happened.

Turning platforms with eletricity AND plasma - Keep in mind, when you're creating a level you play it a lot and get used to the platforming - most people will only play a LBP level once - and if they get frustrated, you've lost them forever. This particular area will be maddening for a player. It took me many tries to get past this area, and I'm an extremely good player. Personally, I would take the plasma off the top and leave the electricity. If you really like it, definately get a second opinion.

Aim and shoot the little gun to blow up the bombs - I thought this idea was really cool, but because of the camera angle I didn't get to see any of the action. You should add a camera angle panning towards the bombs so you can see them blow up.

With the crystal puzzle, I had no idea what I was doing. Most levels that have this kind of puzzle expect you to put the crystals in a particular order. There was no visible clue that you were supposed to put the crystal on top of the platform. Eventually I figured it out.

Got up on the rocket and it took off. at the end of the ride I was catapulted all the way to the top of the level, then fell back down onto the top of some material. There was nothing I could do there so I stepped off the material and fell back down to where the rocket had taken off, but since the rocket was gone there was nothing else I could do.

This is as far as I got. If you would like to make some corrections and have me look at it again, I would be happy to.

Ok, thanks for having a look through. I'll have another look at that rocket, and add some more info to the puzzle (originaly the puzzle used an order, but I changed it to save thermo. I'll have a look). Do you think just plasma on the platforms would work? It is a 'plasma' factory, and I don't want to deviate to much from that theme. I'll use your suggestion for the keycard, and maybe have a magic mouth that says 'aha' or something similar? I'll also tweak a camera angle into the bombs. I'll also tweak the Plasma on the stairs a bit to make it easier. What did you think of the decontaminator?
Also, do you mind checking which word is dodgy in the first speech bubble? it should say 'you are now entering a secure area of the facility. Please stand in the decontamination chamber for 3 seconds while we purify your organic matter.'
Thanks for checking the level out, and, BTW, you got right to the end - the scoreboard was next to where the rocket ended up. (would've been longer, but I ran out of thermo (plasma obstacles use emitters and this makes them very thermo heavy)).

With the rocket, when it hit the top I kept going up - so maybe the material doesn't stretch all the way across the top of the rocket.

I think just plasmas may work.

I think there is a help topic which lists the words that can cause censoring, but I'm not a pro on this.

I played this level, and it was tough. here's what I think. I have to agree with cubbage on the turning platforms. the plasma on the stairs isn't that bad, but for some players it may be difficult. The thing with shooting the missile was pretty cool, but again I have to agree with cubbage it would be better if you could see the action. I don't know how far the missile goes but maybe you could put a camera on the missile, and crank the zone so it's very long. Set the cameras setting (track player) all the way down. Have the emitter only emit what you need. I don't know if it will work for you but I just thought I'd
throw it out there. The puzzle really needs a better hint. I really had no idea what to do. I was trying to make it work by rearranging them in the slots. It was just by accident that I even put the one up there as I was just setting them aside on the lower level. If you didn't put the sound effect in I probably would have given up. I kept waiting for the rocket to take off. I'll take another crack at it if you make some some changes.

It`s very hard, which will put people off.

Here`s what I noticed before I ran out of lives:

-I wasn`t sure if the switch I`d pulled had worked. It looked like it was being stopped by the wall so definitely need a bit feedback there to let players know they`ve done it.

- The door that that key opens isn`t too great. It seems to open if the key is on the door, which came up and threw me down the steps back into the plasma. Had I not let go of the key as I was falling I`m guessing it would`ve been game over already. as the key would be stuck down the steps. Then when I had the key right next to the door it wouldn`t open so I had to drag it back on top, creating a sequence where the key was constantly flipped out of sensor range so I had real trouble getting through.

- The next bit may well be enough to reduce grown men to tears. In all honesty, I did the electric/plasma platforms having died only twice, but they will stop many players from finishing and will no doubt get you 1 star as a result.

- Now I don`t know what was meant to happen in this next section, but i was presented with being able to go up into a room or down through a corridor. I went up, something exploded and 2 prize bubbles came out. Not sure if I was meant to have done something, but it looked like I`d missed the point of that room.

- The lift should probably be on a switch so you can move it up and down at your lesuire. The paintballs just kept blowing up the rocket so I decided to go take a look to see if I should be doing something else, and the lift went back down with the paint gun, meaning I had to jump all the way back down. After a few minutes of seeing the rocket blow up, it eventually worked. My suggestion would be to shoot a target with the gun, which then triggers the rocket so you don`t risk it blowing up as it gets shot.

- The jump down the hole with the electricity on either side is unfair. You should stick a camera zone there so that people can see what`s coming towards them. It took 3 lives off me before I realised that you can just fall down straight. Those lives stopped me progressing as the next jump is pretty fiddly and I ran out of lives.

So I did not finish either so cannot comment on anything that follows.

Sorry if it seems I`m concentrating on the negatives, but the level definitely needs work. I'll continue to give feedback for as long as you need/want it.

EDIT** Gave it another bash. When I got to the rocket, it wouldn`t take off. So after jumping about for a bit I got squished randomly (not your fault). Though I had to use the jetpack as the seteps leading up to the rocket didn`t seem capable of getting me to the top.

Alright sorry it took so long to get round for me to check your level out.

You first txt is censored look for a word with "pene" thats whats causing it, thats what is was with my level anyway. Nice air lock. Where you place the key card for the door is very precise and doesn't allow for any error. I got knocked down the step by the door opening only for it to close as the key card was to far away. The flipping platforms with plasma and electric on them are far to hard most people playing this will run out of lives at this point. I suggest getting rid of the plasma and flattening the ends so easier to jump on and off of. I died far to many times on this.
Nice little paint gun although the bomb you send off didn't work the first few times, not sure why. You should put a camera here so you can see what your trying to blow up and the explosion when it happens.

Falling and grabbin to stop yourself getting electified is nice and original.
It isn't obvious that you should go into the rocket, I only went left trying to get a run up to get to the out of reach next step up the side of the rocket. Have a sign post maybe. The rocket then missed the intended dock. And flew me left and away from your level. Using a rocket for this is a little hap hazard try using a piston and have a rocket for show. That way it will always go where you want it.

Nice ideas but needs a lot of play testing. Let us know when you calm down the flipping platform sections and I'll have another go.

Unfortunately i've run out of thermo so was not able to make most of these suggestions, ad the thermo rose so quickly and for no reason that i had to delete the entire end section just to get off the level. I might have another look at this when i'm a more experienced creator but until then this thread is unfortunately closed .
