What abandoned, unfinished levels do you have on your moon?

Archive: 36 posts

Every creator has a level or two that they just don't feel like ever completing, right? I have only two levels of that kind right now, Blockfight! and Hidden Cave Revamped.2009-04-19 18:22:00

About 4 unfinished levels. I always lose interest in them and start another. One of them is a Dead Space level. I was working on it when I discovered Darknessbear's one. I didn't want to continue it as people would think that I was just copying him.

My next two levels are really unique and should get a great response.

I have hundreds. Almost.
One of them is ultra-secret, only xkappax (and me of course) knows about it. It's part of a series of 3. I'll probably coninue the project after I've finished EFTUTOD.

Well, my Wizard's Revenge level for one. After receiving lots of negative feedback, I gave up on it. But with the new Creator Pack, I may just go back to it.

There's also a submarine one, and one set in a futuristic city. There may have been one or two that never got past the imagining phase.

None actually. I generally finish what I start, my moon has only one level on it at the moment, that admittedly has very little in it :-)2009-04-19 18:58:00

Yeah, but most of the ones on my moon were by my brother and he never finishes his stuff
Recently though I went through my moon and deleted a load of rubbish levels that I didn't need.
Now there is one of my brothers and one of my own (which totally broke down on me )

I have a King Kong ;evel. Stopped working on it when I realised there was a good chance that it would get moderated and that I wouldn`t even get a chance to change it.

By the time the change to the moderation came into place, I`d used most of the ideas in other levels.

I have an abandoned level called ivory peak

started it a few weeks ago, but since starting my rayman project i've realised how incredibly boring it is to both make and play.. so i thought i might as well give up

I have a few incomplete survival challenges. I also have a finished one on my moon that I never bothered publishing...

I usually delete some levels to make room for better ideas.

Well, i guess my costume gallery(kinda)
I already finished/published and all, but i need to update it as i've mede more costumes, the problem is i made it semi complex and with just space for the current ones, so i really don't feel like moving everything and all that, not to mention making the special frames is a bit of a hassle..
So i don't really know when i'll be doing that.

Loads. Great Train Robbery (large victorian train. Looks nice, but no substance in it.) for one, ninja techniques for another, my BR2 failed boss (holiday+bugs), etc.2009-04-19 23:37:00

A time ago, before i started my Kikaiwa series i had the idea of a puzzle level called "The Temple of Logics". I dismissed it because it was boring and needed too much instructions for the usual player.2009-04-20 20:16:00

I've got about 5 levels on my moon that are finished but pretty poor quality, they were more for testing gameplay idea's. I have a few unfinished temple level's, a ramp level and some others that I think I've forgotten about. 2009-04-20 20:28:00

Have a working portal concept, go into one portal come out the other only one portal of each colour at a time and shooting panels alternates between the two.

That was the last thing I was working on but PS3 crashed so I don't know how much was saved

Still I have my concept diagrams

I've got two major ideas that I've tinkered with on my moon but never got around to actually turning into levels. Right now they're just proofs of concept and some visual ideas, me tinkering to try and get some of the visuals just right.

The levels I have bigger ideas for, and in fact its their ambition that's kept me away from trying to create them. The looming shadow of the thermometer has kept me at bay.

Both are based on animated short films I've written but never made. The one I'd make first would probably be Miles Floating, the funny/tragic life story of a character named Miles fascinated with the stars. it's a very visual and dreamlike story.

Both levels would be similar to my current two levels in that they'd likely be quite easy to play, light on challenge but heavy on atmosphere, tone, visuals. Whether or not I'll ever actually get around to making them, I'm not so sure...

I don't have any because I either finish or delete my levels. I keep my finished ones though.

I have three. One is a level with a couple of tanks my brother and I made when we first got the game. The second is a level that had an interesting gameplay mechanic, but I simply ran out of ideas for it. The third is a reproduction of dawesbr's double-jump mechanism, which I'm leaving alone until dawesbr releases his. Then maybe I can fix some of the technical problems on mine.2009-04-21 00:00:00

I've got the Finale of little big Aliens with the warship Sulaco basic design made not coloured and a slightly redesigned dropship. And the beginings of making the dropship enter the sulaco and land. I want it to be a surival type game with a battle against the queen but I'm waiting for inspiration. I keep thinking of other things to do when I work on it. Also I have a level where I make the the icons, so its got bits of cut out cardboard and other materials.2009-04-21 08:32:00

Yeah made a ton of H4H levels I will release tomorrow lolz.

No seriously.

There is only the current project I am working on. Everything else is either finished (3 small tech demos and one level, don't got the time) or has been deleted by me. I take it like Gruntos, what I start I finish.

I have a few...around like six or seven of them. xD

I only stop working on a level when something goes horribly wrong, like a massive glitch or something.

I was nearly finished one called "The little lost pink pixel" where you play a pink pixel trying to make his way in the world of angry red pixels.

The whole level was just done through lights.

Then one horribble day I found my game save corrupt and it disappeared forever. i have never got around to rebuilding it.

Hmm, I have my tanker chapter mgs2 level that is unfinsihed, but I'm currently working on that (looking good too ATM if I say so myself). Will include my RAY design breaking out of the ship and everything.

I also have my mgs1 remake I made and completed way back last year, but it still won't work when I publish it :/

I think about one right now. It's just this short skateboarding level I was recently working on but just quit a few days ago on it as I thought the level would have been way too short and I was getting very frustrated and bored making it.2009-04-24 19:04:00

I've only really got one level that I never finished. This is the very first level I started out on!

I wanted to make a Wind Waker tribute level with all the gorgeous visuals, cell-shaded style, bobbing king of red lions and splooshing blue waves. I got as far as making the waves and boat mechanics... It really turned out great, and everytime I look back on it I wish I had finished it... but I've too many projects in queue :S

Also I think I've seen one or two pretty sweet looking wind waker levels, but I don't think anyones captured the waves as well as I had mine working... if you don't mind me saying so ^^

I pretty much publish all my experimental levels though, even if they lack any sort of polish, they're just to share ideas.

Before my first PS3 broke, I started working on a couple of levels. They were only about 5% complete, before they glitched.

When I got a refurb PS3, I started working on a Pog minigame, but I had no idea how to stop the players cheating, as dissolve material is grabbable, and you'd be able to manually flip the pogs.

Then I started on my current project full time.

I have loads of levels. Mine are like:

05% very close to completion
20% finished and published
60% proof of concept levels with my l337 self made gadgets/switches etc.
15% barely started/abandoned

I'm using just over half my moon, I believe.

I've only got one, the third installment of the Electronomicon series - Omega. To be honest I wasn't really planning to make another level because of the paltry amount of plays my other ones have got - it's not really worth the amount of time it takes me to finish one.

Now that the new creator stuff has come out I might give it one last go though.

My husband and I have two levels under his profile that we never finished. The one was our first level, which was ramps and skateboards and ... well, needless to say we didn't publish it. ... the second one was the level he started right after centralia. He got to a point where the thermometer started to fill up rapidly, got mad at littlebigplanet, and its just sitting there still.2009-04-30 01:15:00
