Make your own awful CG movies online. My series:Oh, Bobot!

| Anyone seen this site Xtranormal.com? Highly-recommended for a hearty laugh. You get the tools to make a basic scene, with an overall terrible selection of cartoon CG characters, camera selection, and sets. You choose robot computerized voices for your characters, and you dictate their dialogue, action, and camera cuts. It's all incredibly simple, quick, and the results tend to be totally ridiculous. Believe me. It is almost impossible to resist giving these robot actors the most absurd possible lines. My favorite videos on the site (http://www.xtranormal.com/watch?e=2009041521360110) are not everyone's cup of tea, but certainly fit my tastes just fine. Be sure to watch all four in the series. You'll cry your pants with laughter, if you're even half as twisted as I am. My own series Oh Bobot! | I tripped out at chim chimminy. The really weird thing is that, years and years ago, when I was first playing with "talking computer" technology, I did the exact same thing. I would type up these elaborately weird things for the computer to say that would just crack myself up, and I often included chim chiminy rhymes. I think this fellow and myself have some kind of an abominable, twisted kinship of humor. It's so funny that these scripts, simply on paper, would be half as funny as they are performed by these computer actors. | Hilarious!! Jibberish is an absolute blast to give these robo-voices. The first script I wrote was long by like 7000 characters, and I was told that I had to cut 120% of my script. I ended up just scrapping the whole thing and starting over! I already have a ton of ideas for Bobot. It's so much fun. I've uploaded the videos to youtube as well, hoping that more people will see them. I'm getting LittleBigPlanet flashbacks all over again, like I'm publishing levels again. | Haha - yeah, the episodes have the same basic formula, and all end with a long pause followed by some ridiculous line by Bobot. I considered changing that up a bit, but it really is funny every **** time. He's always trying to connect with people, but just doesn't get them. But you can't feel too sorry for him because he's still just a robot - he doesn't seem capable of genuine guilt or sorrow. He wants to fit in and feel regular human feelings, but he just isn't capable. And, in his attempts to be normal, he always ends up doing unspeakably awful (and weird) things! His meeting with Principal Crunchy is almost done. But there's a glitch where he won't sit down at the desk, he just stands up and holds his arms out, and most of the camera angles don't work. Of course, if someone wanted to, they could steal your whole video and republish it as their own, LittleBigPlanet style. So that's another thing that needs to be cleaned up, but this is after all just a beta. It is a good way to fix up mistakes in old videos. Honestly, many many years ago, when I first discovered that my old computer could speak what I typed, I had a FIELD DAY. I would type the weirdest stuff, and it generally wouldn't be very funny on the page, just weird. But when the robo-voice spoke the lines with that monotonous-yet-unpredictable delivery, i would just lose it. I also had a comic that I drew with a buddy back in high school. There was a robot named Conversonator who was built in order to keep humans company. He was designed with only a few phrases like "that's cool" and "****, that sucks", but he always ended up saying completely weird things after long pauses at the end of comic strips, just like our friend Bobot here. If it's not funny on the page, the unexpected delivery/"acting" of the robot actors can make something incessantly, constantly funny. It's the same with my Bobot episodes. I can scarcely call them "mine", because I laugh at them every freaking time - I didn't tell Bobot to deliver the lines like he does, he just DOES it! It's as much his movie as mine. These robo-actors, they make it happen. Funny video by the way! You could do a hundred versions of that ending. It's like the ULTIMATE remix-able video! | I actually tried that exact thing, pausing him longer for the sirens to die out, but I was out of space for pauses. just now I tried a remix to try taking OUT one pause... but it still said I was out of space by like 30 characters!! I guess remixes have smaller limits than originals?? Note: I found a way to squeeze in some more space, but I wonder if the problem's still there?
