High Thermometer!!!
Archive: 20 posts
I am making this level and I haven't added more then 1/10 of the level today and the thermometer is up to only two bars left while the thermometer had over half of the space left. The area I added had nothing complex about it whatsoever!!! I need serious help and I don't know what to do!!! Please Help!!! :confuse d: ... | 2009-04-19 02:58:00 Author: Unknown User |
There is more than 1 thermometer. The game just shows which thermometer is highest. There is a sticker thermometer, physics thermometer, etc... What did you add recently? | 2009-04-19 03:03:00 Author: DanC Posts: 433 |
The level is a level to see how far you can get and I basically just added some material and some spikes... that is pretty much it... When it says "The thermometer is too high" thing it says " try using fewer shapes or collected objects in your level." The only thing I can think of making the thermometer so high is this one part where if you connected the material, all the things would unglue... so thanks for commenting... | 2009-04-19 03:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
I can of suffer of this problem in my new level (Crazy Train). I'm emitting huge objects so it does fill the thermo ridiculously fast. Their "thermo" is flawed really. They should have represented your available memory with another concept. It could have been 3-4 smaller thermo or an ensemble of different points that would diminish when you add something. . | 2009-04-19 05:02:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I copied my level and deleted everything and the "thermo"is only two bars away from the top!!!! At one point I was doing something else and left sackboy in create mode and when I came back, the thermo was even higher!!!! What the heck!!! | 2009-04-19 06:46:00 Author: Unknown User |

I understand you're frustrated, but try to keep your posts coherent and concise. You don't need that many spaces or exclamation marks. In any case, my suggestion is to just delete the level and start anew. It sounds like a glitch, and you'd be better off just starting over. | 2009-04-19 07:25:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
It's not that I am frustrated, it's more that I am bored and putting those extra things in takes like, what, ten seconds... Anyways, sorry... This was more of something that was "build when your bored thing" so now I can bring my boredom to this site... | 2009-04-19 07:30:00 Author: Unknown User |
If you used emitters, check to see if there are any objects in any corners (including top) Sometimes emitted objects pile up on the thermo, causing it to overheat. Another bug is that sometimes, eg on a rewind or fastforward, an emitter will emit one item during the pause, and it will react to normal physics, but won't be destroyed by its lifetime. If this builds up, you may have a problem. When it keeps going up like that, it sounds as if you have emitters that emit slowly, but with infinite lifetime. Keep a tab on these. With the thermometer still high after deletion, try placing some objects down. Does it still go up? Try to overload it? What happens when you delete the new objects? | 2009-04-19 09:23:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
Has anything dropped to the bottom of the level? Sometimes things fall apart without you knowing. Do a sweep of the bottom of the level and delete anything down there. Once, I found the collector boss down there. O_o. | 2009-04-19 11:30:00 Author: DanC Posts: 433 |
My level is flat down on the bottom so there would be nothing in the bottom. As for the emmiters, I have copy the level and deleted eveything in the level, even my sackboys clothes. I have searched it for a good ten minutes. I'll turn the emmiters lifetime like at ten. thanks for your help | 2009-04-19 16:27:00 Author: Unknown User |
I don't bother with the thermometer. I continue on another patch. Problem solved. | 2009-04-19 16:57:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
There is more than 1 thermometer. The game just shows which thermometer is highest. There is a sticker thermometer, physics thermometer, etc... What did you add recently? Wow! How does this work? Can you explain it a bit further? Or post a link to where I can better learn to understand this mysterious LBP thermometer we've been using | 2009-04-19 18:11:00 Author: noddle111 Posts: 174 |

What I would do is crush the entrance, then highlight the entire level with the popit cursor and see if anything comes up. If so, delete it. If not, it's probably a glitch. | 2009-04-19 18:43:00 Author: SawronZXZ Posts: 463 |
what do you mean "if anything comes up?" | 2009-04-19 19:20:00 Author: Unknown User |
Use the object capture tool too highlight all your playing area and see if there are any unexpected parts that might have popped up. Ie, invisible glitches like piston matter | 2009-04-19 20:08:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
okay, thanks, I'll try that... | 2009-04-20 00:30:00 Author: Unknown User |
If the popit cursor selects anything in the radius you highlighted I mean. | 2009-04-21 23:56:00 Author: SawronZXZ Posts: 463 |
Try to redo what you did before it shot up and see what caused it | 2009-04-21 23:59:00 Author: Snrm Posts: 6419 |
Ok, this definetally seems like the Termo auto-fill glitch, its happenening in my levels too. For some reason the termometer starts to rise on its own, and even when everything is deleted the termometer won't lower down and will even keep rising. | 2009-04-22 00:16:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
