I liked the level, looks very well built and it was a little difficult but not too hard. The food part though felt very tedious.2009-04-21 13:56:00

Playing just now. I couldn`t finish so I`ll let you know what I think up to the point where I quit

Pros:

- Looks good. It`s dark, but I'm not struggling to see.
- The challenges are varied

Cons:

- I had a problem with the lift. When I put the two things in to power it it, they both lit up, but nothing happened. After a few minutes of working out what to do, i pulled one out and put it back in and it worked. Not sure if I put them in in the wrong order or if I have them in far enough to register for the light, but not to make the lift open. Either way it needs looking at.
- The kitchen. This part is not particularly enjoyable. Due to placement of flame material, it seems impossible to go back from the left of the kitchen to the lift without either getting burned or killed.
- I had no idea what was going on. At one point, two grab switches appear out of mid air and float. In the confusion of these appearing I hit R1 and let go. This meant that all the instructions for the puzzle were lost to me. I had to guess. I got everything that I could see that moved, but as I grabbed every switch I could see with nothing happenig for 5 minutes I eventually gave up.
- I would put the instructions on a permanent switch so players have to close them personally . I`d also put your list of things as pictures on the wall as a guide. Lastly, I`d take a few items off the list. Others have found this section tedious so I`d recommend shortening it a bit.

I`ll have another go at some point to let you know what I think about the rest of it.

Checked it out tonight (along with the cave level too - should put a thread up for that one too)

Overall a nicely built level. Strange plot but it's workable. I don't know if I felt exceptionally motivated as a "slave" but that's my own opinion.

Some really nice lighting in a lot of spots. I can tell you took extra time to look at the lights. Especially the bomb area at the beginning and up in the kitchen area. Platforming isn't all that difficult on the lower level but I enjoyed it.

Had a problem with the elevator - had to pull out the keys and keep putting them back in. Sound effect happened every time but the elevator didn't open until the third try with the green light key. Not sure if you've got a radius out of whack there or if it was intentional.

Kitchen is super packed with stuff to do. I liked the shopping list concept but there's an awful lot of it to do and while I stuck it out I'm not sure the average player will. If you like it set up that way I'd say leave it though. One problem with the grocery list though. The food is extremely breakable. I bused the steak and discovered that it's impossible to complete the level if one of the food items breaks.

Also wanted to note that I'm glad you took Matt 82's advice with the permanent switch for the shopping list - found it very helpful.

I also wanted to mention that I love the bomb pattern challenge. I don't think I've seen that skill combination before so it felt very innovative to me - and fun.

I'll try to finish the level (as the steak's demise doomed me) again tonight and finish this tomorrow.

As it stands now I gave it 4 stars and left the tag off for now. Thanks for sharing it.

OK here we go...

1st impression: Nice dark spooky/mysterious atmosphere.

The 1st platform element is very tricky...I die many times...but its my fault I'm rushing I slow down and make it across.

I like your puzzles. The one with the button in the box (with red light) would be nice if there was a sound (if there was I didn't notice it) as I didn't know if I pushed it or if it was working. (found 'it' while walking around couldn't see it was on the floor behind the crates)

you elevator is nice.

OK the gather/kitchen room...

There is alot to get on the lift but you keep it from being too repetitive by throwing in the platform elements.

*When I am putting items on the lift I can see to the left of the 'game' area and see your logic*

The key 'inside' the storage room broke when I tried to put it in.

Restart level

OK back in the storage room..You have a round thing with a light you have to grab to make the floor dissolve...I let go while swinging and it rolled left and fell onto the electrified floor killed me when I respawed.

Restart level

Ok got through it this time!

You create a great environment and 'most' of it fits very well with your theme. The bombs at the beginning and the electrified stuff were kind of out of place but were still really well done and very creative. Some really funny dialog! Some good platforming and cool puzzles.

I thought this level was pretty interesting, even tho i was tired from work and sleepy i was Interested on finishing this level.

And I just played this with a friend and it got confusing coz we were both reading different text dialogues and instructions. I think that would be he players' fault. I ended up doing it my self and The Instructions did help this time.

I think its probably the funny dialogue and the search and retrieve puzzle made this level really interestiing to me... it also looks pretty good might i add.

As for gameplay, i find the obstacles to be challenging for many people, but it didnt bother me at all, i liked it, it gives you a sense of "hey! better watch out and time your moves" and i like that kind of challenge.

Overall this game was 4 stars and tagged it Weird (in a good way) plus a heart.

Id like feedback for my level "The Count Of St. Claire Prologue" please.

Edit:

In Addition, the Fish broke when i placed it in the elevator, thus causing me a restart.

I Too Suggest that you cover up your logic gates to the left of the lift, you can just use a thin material to do that. Easy Fix!

Played this level sometime ago and I'm sorry I completely forgot to give you feedback on it :S
Well, better late than never!

Pros:
+ Some nice eerie lighting early on
+ Nice challenges
+ The kitchen is very well designed
+ The whole environment is very nicely designed

Cons:
- The whole kitchen area had some annoying puzzles and things kept on breaking
- The first section is incredibly hard, cost me a few restarts

Overall 3 stars and a "weird" tag
Thanks for sharing
