Cornish Yarg Issues?

Okay..... I've been playing with Cornish Yarg for about an hour now. All the new features work as expected, and I've updated small things in all my levels (Tiger Woods no longer has a big bolt sticking through his neck! Yeah!!!).

HOWEVER.... there ARE going to be bugs, and I've uncovered a few minor ones already in Splat Invaders Saga:

I noticed the rumble on my controller isn't working quite right. It used to be consistent using the paintinator. Now, the rumble fades in and out during the first few fights in Splat Invaders Saga. It founds out to NO rumble, and then fades back in.

Artifacting - I noticed after the space walk, that in the first room of the spaceship there is strange graphical artifacting going on. The thing about this room - the back wall is a whole bunch of white tiles stuck together, and there is a lamp on a table. This is creating some graphical glitches - although it doesn't break the gameplay.

Umm, I'm not entirely sure, but someone on the forums said they moved the level from their moon, to another section on their moon and it worked.

Though, I'm not sure if they said from moon to moon, or the littlebigplanet to moon.

You'll have to try it yourself.

So far my system has locked up twice, had game diverged messages three times, and I'm still getting lag - granted not as bad as it used to be. I don't know that it's Yarg causing any of these for sure but my system was running pretty smooth before the update. I'm not too worried yet. I think by publishing then copyign back to mon fixxes it, not 100% sure tho.

i was able to move/copy my levels (didn't work the first time, but the second it did) And they look just the same (as far as i know )

Not sure if this is a new problem that came with Cornish Yarg, or maybe it's just a problem for me.

But you know how you used to get that annoying problem, were if you pressed right on your level, and accidentally hit "Locked" and blah blah all that stuff?

Well for some reason, they fixed that, meaning if your highlighting "Locked" and press right, you move to the next page. But, now the problem is, how do you lock it!? I've tried everything, hitting "X" on it, pressing r1, l1, r2, l2, all of it. It just simply takes you to the next page.

Any idea what's going on?

EDIT: And I find it as soon as I post this. Using your right joystick, it'll do it for ya.

The stickers were already flickering a bit when they were zoomed alot of in large quantities but now they actually flicker even more.

If you want to see the effect, 2 of levels are particular victims because of my "digging blocks". Check Dig It! (2 players game) and/or The Banana Horde.

It's really sad, especially for my 2 players level there. :/

Well what ive discovered was rather alarming, as soon as i finished installing CY my game gave me a message

"LBP Game Save Corrupted would you like to retry reloading or reload from the game data backup?"


I was worried that it wouldnt load up, but then when i tried the choosing the game data back-up, it worked!. I was relieved because i had 2 project levels and both had over 80% created content in them.

Even still, after i quit LBP and reload it, the same thing happens and i always have to use my game data back-up just to get my stuff back. its still a bother.

There's another case that i know of, this also happened to my friend tripletremelo (creator of Cause and Effect series) it was so unfortunate for him that he couldnt even load up his game data back-up. he even had an MGS level on the works for months and its gone, i felt sorry for the guy.

If you turn a fairly light into gas and then select it with the pop it, when you press square (which should give you the light options) it brings up the gas color tool instead.2009-04-16 08:30:00

I managed to fix my corrupted savegame simply by copying over a backup from the USB stick. But my creations will be on hold until the real deal comes along and proves to be working correctly.2009-04-16 08:55:00

I thought about doing the same, but i didnt wanna risk overwriting the one that is currently working, since it might still do the same corrupted message.

It would be a real mistake if i had 2 corrupted saved files. But then youve seem to have done it and not have any problems at all. Perhaps i may do the same.

The only problem I've discovered with CY right now is that sometimes when I play a community level and quit it, after it loads the pod it lags for a second or two. I'm loving the new features in CY right now.

EDIT: My internet connection for the game seems to be A LOT worse then before too, and my internet connection for LBP was already very bad. Oh well, at least I can still play other people's levels.

When the description of a level pops up, there's now an annoying "pop" sound. Seriously, I wonder who had this bad idea. When navigating levels it hurts my brain.

When the description of a level pops up, there's now an annoying "pop" sound. Seriously, I wonder who had this bad idea. When navigating levels it hurts my brain.

At first I was like "ooh new noise!"

Now I think I might pop (see what I did there?) my eardrums.

EDIT:

Earlier, when I was emitting a rocket (from the MGS pack) I accidentally made it so the rockets hit the floor a short distance away, it didn't effect the material, so it wasn't that close, but when I tried to tweak the emitter, it went red and wouldn't let me. It also wouldn't let me delete it because I couldn't select it.

Weird, and annoying, because I had to delete the launcher that I'd been working on for 30 minutes.

Oh and thanks for that Whaaaale! I was trying for ages to lock my levels

I'm going to check that Coastin' in the Jungle still works though.....

just to post it in the issues thread.

levels that now supposed to be fixed dont work,
they havent worked since 1.07,
copied them to my moon, tried publishing them.
copying them from one part of moon to other tells me "there was an error when moving/copying the level" and when I publish the level it still tells me "clean up pod, press x to clean pod, or quit the game" and then crashes my ps3.

Sounds odd Luos. You're the only person I've seen who still had problems with that.

I got the Game Save Data Corrupted yada yada.

I also have a helluva lot longer load times

And after loading, 10 seconds of "preloading game resources" + the spinning globe image, but instead of a sign/sackboy/note, it's a globe.

Well after I downloaded yarg and LBP launched I got a 'Profile Corrupted' message. It asked if I wanted to press O to try again or hit X to load an older save.

Tried to hit O no luck...

Hit X and it loaded just fine.

Went to my moon and made some tweaks to my old levels exited back to the pod and received the 'unable to save profile' message. (Which is weird because it wasn't 'that' full) went back into one of my levels deleted a 'bunch' of stuff and exited and got the message again...so I went back in and deleted a 'bunch' more stuff and returned to my pod. This time no message...but...I noticed that I am unable to change the locked/unlocked status of my 2 levels. I tried to copy and move them to a new spot on my moon...didn't work...I tried to copy/publish them to the world and that didn't work. I deleted all old copies...on the moon and the earth...and that didn't work.

So I figured I would just let it go for now and turned off my PS3 (watching last disk of season 4 LOST with a friend who didnt watch it before)

Once I have finished LOST I turn back on LBP and again get the 'profile corrupted' message...go through the motions hit X everything loads up fine.

I play through my 1st level (to see the tweaks I'd made) and noticed some elements aren't working

So now I am up too late as I have to work in the early AM and have to shut it off.

So here I am at work wondering what I will find when I get home and fire it up again...Heavy Sigh...

Other than that..it loads WAY faster and published in a third of the time!


Hope things work out soon makes me worried to keep getting this message.

I noticed that I am unable to change the locked/unlocked status of my 2 levels

Try using the right thumb stick - MM changed this to prevent people accidentally locking/making their levels copyable.

** Cornish Yarg Broke Splat Invaders II **

Ok, HERE'S something to look out for. There's a few permenant switches in Splat Invaders II that would drop a piece of poly down a chute as logic. Someone left a message on my Splat Invaders II that said they couldn't finish it.

I investigated to find the piece of poly, which has worked thousands of times without a hitch, was breaking and disappearing during the process about 50% of the time.

So, it looks like some material breaks easier while falling than it used to. I fixed it by changing it to a piece of cardboard and making it smaller.... so HOPEFULLY the issue is solved. It was hard because the logic was happening within an emitted object....

One thing I thought was good was the option to not collect community prizes or photobooth pictures as i don't want photobooth pictures at all, they are just a nuisance and take up loads of profile space.

Unfortunately it isn't working right. I put the setting for photobooth pictures to OFF and the setting for community to prizes to ON just while I played a friends level so i could try and ace the level to win his helicopter and have a play around with it.

It's quite a tough level and I had several goes but eventually managed to ace it but after all that i never got the prize. It seems like you have to have both prizes and photobooth set to ON to receive the prizes which makes having a separate setting for each totally pointless.

Well I've turned them both OFF again now because if you have to have photobooth turned ON then i'd rather get nothing at all. I very rarely use collected stuff anyway but it's handy sometimes to look how things are made and get inspiration for your own creations.

Anyone else noticed this bug at all ?

Holys*** don't tell me this bug is true... I got to test that tonight. This is freaking PRE-SCHOOL QA BASIC PROBLEM. This bug should have been found within 5 mins the feature was implemented. WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF

Yeah, this is the sort of thing you would find and fix in casual, half-arsed testing during dev.

I've left both of mine on anyway, and intend to just flush out the rubbish every couple of days, at least THAT function works properly.

There are better than amateur but i'm still completely flasbergasted by the kind of bugs that slip through. Basic debug I tell you. It's ridiculous and Sony patch approval is even more ridiculous since they didn't found it or cared. For some AAA exclusive, LBP ranks number one in my 20 years of gaming experience and 5 years of QA experience as "the most oddly debugged game ever".

My profile just now stopped saving. It's the standard "your profile is to big something something" message so I don't know if it has anything to do with the patch. The thing is that everything I did last time I played got saved and I haven't picked up any now objects or anything. I had no problems since the update EXCEPT for the controller vibration. I noticed that too, like when I'd get bubbles it wouldn't rumble, but then it would start working again when I'd get electrocuted... Well, I hope they fix that soon. It really sucks that they fixed some problems, but also created new ones....

I might just be lucky, but I haven't had any issues so far except for a string detaching from an object in one of my levels. The update has been perfect. I have noticed some in-pod slow-down though, when changing costumes or jumping like crazy, but that could have just been server issues.2009-04-18 10:17:00

This probably not new in yarg, but it wouldn't have been annoying before. If I pick up a magnetic key, it rotates itself to face upwards. Annoying if you have an angle sensor pointing in the correct direction and just want to tweak it a bit.2009-04-18 12:21:00

Actually, this one IS new in Yarg. I think the issue happened for some reason because of the new angle feature - they always rotate it up so the angel is consistent. However, it's a little weird because if you get your angle exactly correct, picking up the switch messes it up.2009-04-18 12:39:00

By the way, I don't have the bug where the option to collect items and pics didn't work as supposed to.

I have prizes set to "on" and photos set to "off" and it works accordingly.
