You could try Artemis Fowl...actually come to think of it there has been a strong recent trend for popular books to be turned into graphic novels, not that I can think of any more off the top of my head but I'm sure there has been others.2009-04-15 23:47:00

If you haven't, read the Watchmen. If you enjoy philosophy/mystery/action/drama/science/thrillers, then you will enjoy it. The book deals with the problems of the Cold War era, and of human corruption. The main characters dress as vigilantes in order to fight crime, and their unique psychological profiles are what drives the story. It also contains an extreme amount of graphic violence and sex, so be warned.

If you have already read/don't want to read that, try V for Vendetta, which deals with the struggle between a Fascist regime and a man's desire to be free. It also delves into the mind of a man who engages in such Vendetta's against the government. It's less violent that the Watchmen, but deals with touchier subjects.

Those are the only two I've read. >_<

Oh, at first I thought MAKING a graphic novel, and I was all WAITWUT?

Yeah, do Watchmen. Is completely awesome.

Also, you may want to try some of the batman stuff... The Dark Knight Returns is about a 50 year old Batman returning to the job 10 years after he quit crime fighting after he was forced to pull a gun on someone due to failing health (one can only do what Batman does for a short while). Is good, and also features a gang leader ripping a reporters neck out with his teeth O_o.

Then there is Batman Year One, the first Batman story in the new chronology... features Batman as he tries to take down the crime bosses and was one of the major thing Batman Begins was based off of.

Then there is the Long Halloween, which depicts how Two Face became, well, Two Face. I do like the Dark Knight version better though, since it was the Joker's plot from The Killing Joke only him actually succeeding, but then Harvey dies so he doesn't go from the white knight to some random criminal, he just went a bit crazy and wanted some revenge.

Then there's the sequel to the Long Halloween which introduces Robin, forget what it was... Dark Knight Strikes Back? :/

Oh yeah, then there is The Killing Joke, which as I said was what the Joker's plot of making someone insane came from... tells the Joker's origins, but as the book says, the Joker himself isn't even sure, he's just too "super sane" to know what his past is- if he WAS to have a past, he'd prefer it to be multiple choice .

Then, finally, the graphic novel Arkham Asylum. A bit darker, lol. Well, it does depict the Mad Hatter as a drug addicted low life, and well everyone in Arkham is insane- except the Joker, who is so insane he can actually be called super sane.

... I'll leave this post with a little joke.

So, a man was excited, his wife was about to give birth. The doctor comes and says, "Your wife has given birth to a healthy baby boy. He is in the infancy ward".

So the man goes to the infancy ward, but can't find his baby. all of a sudden, a bunch of nurses and doctors pop up from behind and go,

"APRIL FOOL! Your wife died in childbirth and your child's a stillborn!"

/shoots security guard in face

... Yeah. THIS POST ENDS NOW!
