I'm not a great writer, but I've decided to post my stories I decide to make here. Its part of a larger vision of a world, and I've only written one small part from the middle of what could eventually be a book. It has two things I love put together. Futuristic stuff, and vampires. But the one I've been working on now takes place in the past, and serves as sort of a prequel to what later stories might be. Any suggestions on how I should write? I usually switch between views as often as I like, seemingly randomly. Should I just stick with one? I would like to possibly be a writer someday, even if it isn't my main job, and any feedback is appreciated.

Nice to see someone who enjoys writing. If I were you, I would stick with your style. Write how you want to write - if it switches between styles all the time, great, if it works well. As a plus point, ohemgeeIloveyousomuch vampires+futuristic stuff sounds sweet! I look forward to what you are going to post. Perhaps release a story chapter by chapter?

The problem is, right now, I'm just learning how to write. I've never written seriously before this. I'm not going to release anything until I work on the story a bit, and even then only bits and pieces. And though I plan most of it to take place in the future, eventually, the only parts I've written are low-quality outlines for it, with some decent parts. Basically, the main character in the ones I've written so far is Michael. He's a vampire, and quite a strong one. I havn't written up a history for his life before becoming a vampire, this is shortly after he has, but I'm going to have to account for his combat skills in some way or another, and his views, and...well, my name is Michael as well. So I'm basically the main character. I was going to change the name, until I realized that relating him to an arch-angel might do me good. He is a personal bodygaurd to an ancient vampire, who owns the stereotypical castle, even though its the 1600s-1900s (not sure of the date yet). He abuses and captures Michael's love, and for months abuses her, before sentencing her to death when he realizes she will never, ever love him, or be obedient to him, despite the seemingly endless luxuries she was given. Michael frees her, after ransacking a lab for the blood of an ancient vampire (which makes you strong when you drink it, obviously, but has side effects). A friend of his, the third ranking bodygaurd out of the three (Michael is second), kills Victor (the Vampire king), in his sleep, and helps Michael to escape with Alecia. Then Marcus, the most powerful gaurd, kills Aeran (the friend), and chases after Michael and Alecia. And eventually I might explain the origins of Aeran, and the life of Michael, and of Alecia, before things started (as they knew eachother in life). And maybe of Victor. And Marcus will be a main enemy for a long, long time, until eventually allying with them after a startling revelation. Things like that for what I've written so far. I'm trying to create a style between gothic literature and sci-fi literature if possible. But I'm just too inexperienced. I'm going to start working on the world a few hundred years later. The immortals that fight, the science used in wars between them and humans, when there are wars, and basically the super-natural mixed with science. Hopefully I can pull it off somewhat. I can just imagine it now. Vampires with sniper rifles gunning down human soldiers at miles away with their reflexes, cybernetics being used by both immortals and humans...main characters being vampires, humans, and maybe even those who can use magic, which exists in my world, though it would have to be limited obviously. Blah, that was a rant. Just tell me what you think of the concept. I havn't told you anything but a bit of the PREQUEL to what the story might eventually be. Does anybody have any more advice? Edit: I want the vampires to be an evolution of man, not the undead. I want there to be magic, but no true afterlife, even if souls exist, which they will have to just to explain some of the supernatural. The greatest magic will be used by one in millions of people, for example, and for the majority this will only be weak telekinesis or such, or mind reading, or creating/destroying small amounts of matter in various ways, or manipulating energy. But eventually, magic will be more far-used in the future, as yet another weapon. Cybernetic implants will draw the source of it from people, as well as genetic modifications and more. I'm really just ranting. Point being made, it will be weeks before I finish the parts I'm working on, months before they are good quality, and years before I ever make a book or good story out of it if I ever do. Edit: And do not criticize me on naming the character after me. I'm not making him based on my own self-image, I had a good reason for it, and can change his name if the problem is ever risen.

That sounds epic and (I say this so much, but it's 100% true) awesome. Were the names Victor and Marcus, by any chance, taken from the Underworld series? Anywho, I look forward to your story, it should be sweet!

Perhaps subconciously, but not deliberately. I could change names if anybody thinks it is neccessary. Just not sure. Anyways, I'm going to type up some more in a minute...

Ah, alright. I just don't want anybody to think that I'm creating characters in my own image, though that is the easy way out, and the main characters will sometimes share lots of traits with myself...not all of them. And I'm trying to tell a good story primarily. Anyways, I'm about halfway done with a single section. I started with part of the history of the origin of tree of the main characters, mostly Michael. Well, not their origins, just how they were connected at one point, and love and hate between them. And a bit of a story. My pre-future part of this will be small, if I ever wrote books, 1 book for the past, maybe 2, for 8-9 taking place in the future. And thanks for the support. I'll probably post in a new thread when I'm done. If you have any questions about the backround for the storyline, let me know, because it might cause me to create things I've forgotten to create!
