Which specific sound(s) do you think would aid your creating? Hopefully Mm might notice this thread at some point Sounds: Skidding Pre-race rev-ing Bomb dropping sound (progressive whistling sound?) Generally more machinery noises Electrical light flickering Zap Nuclear explosion Generally more music noises Machine gun Church bell Fizz Rocket Launcher Gong Generally more animal noises Tree falling Voices: Gasping for air Other Requests: Being able to choose EXACTLY what sound it plays, rather than a random variation Ability to restrict sound on rockets Suggestions above taken from poster's requests. | 2009-04-14 13:20:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
More mechanical/machinery noises is what I'd like to see. | 2009-04-14 13:36:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |
As mentioned elsewhere, I still need a proper church bell. | 2009-04-14 13:45:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
A gong sound, more animal (nid frog plz) sounds. Also, we need more speech bubble voices! It's annoying, really. I mean, who uses Robo-Cat? | 2009-04-14 15:06:00 Author: AwesomePossum Posts: 446 |

Shall I put all these in the first post? Incase Mm is passing by any chance? Some of them are a bit too vague though.. | 2009-04-14 21:21:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
Actually if you wanna do that, my suggestion would be: A full blown Music pack! It'd be great, a tonne of new instruments, maybe some cool costumes like guitars and drums for sackboy, a load of stickers and objects. There's a lot of material there to fill a whole creation pack. And considering they made a christmas and valentines one. It'd be well worth making a music one. I would definitely pay money for this. | 2009-04-14 21:42:00 Author: Pitcard Posts: 779 |
Definetly more mechanical sounds, and some meaty explosion sounds, some really deep bass sounds would be good to. | 2009-04-15 19:04:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
○ Electric guitar (Multiple sound variations) ○ Accoustic guitar ○ Louder Bas guitar (current one is impossible to hear almost) ^If LBP had these then it would be great.^ Others: Bomb dropping sound, machine gun, light flickering sound, electric zap. | 2009-04-15 20:15:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
Rocket launch sound. Fizz sound. Gasping for air sound. | 2009-04-16 00:22:00 Author: Sackdragon Posts: 427 |
Oh, more alarm sounds! And a bit more voices too. Perhaps some more enviromental sounds? | 2009-04-16 00:50:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
I'd like to see more eerie sounds+mechanical. I also think we could have some more and better animal sounds, rather than having, for example, a horse sounding like a dog. | 2009-04-16 01:57:00 Author: Bear Posts: 2079 |
It's sometimes annoying how it plays a random variation of a sound. Like in the wood creak sound- sometimes it plays a short, higher pitched sound effect, when in your level, a long low sound would work better. So I think you should be able to choose the exact sound it plays. | 2009-04-16 02:15:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |

i used robo cat in my level xD i'd prefer it if they had a normal cat though :/ There is a normal cat- remember the stat of Dancer's Court? The falling cats? | 2009-04-16 03:50:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
oh yeah xD couldn't find it on the list when i was looking for it.. it's right at the top D: oh wait i meant a cat sound effect for speech, i had to use robo cat when one of my characters was speaking | 2009-04-16 04:59:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |

how about a way to make a 7 second sound clip useing your mic? then you could create your own sound. | 2009-04-18 03:01:00 Author: Crow Posts: 31 |
oh yeah xD couldn't find it on the list when i was looking for it.. it's right at the top D: oh wait i meant a cat sound effect for speech, i had to use robo cat when one of my characters was speaking What you could do is this... 1. Out of the level, place the sound effect on some dissolve and set it to 'on destruction'. 2. In the game area, place a sensor and hook it up to the dissolve aswell as the magic mouth. 3. (Optional) Put the magic mouth on some dissolve (and a timer by making logic gates and stuff) so it can only occur once and you wouldn't have to re-emmit the sound. | 2009-04-18 03:51:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |

Molecule probably though of that, but didn't decide to pursue it because it will be too thermo heavy. As for the sounds I'd like? More of everything! | 2009-04-18 11:15:00 Author: olit123 Posts: 1341 |

we need more and better "musical" sounds most of them just sound like quiet beeps or thuds i'm making a music themed level at the moment and some some instruments like the saxamaphone would be really cool and we need better guitar sound effects! | 2009-04-19 00:18:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
Totally agreed. Started my first ever music level and trying to finding a violin noise is horrifying... I've ended up using metal impact of the machinery selection xD For I while I just had it as "squeeky" coz it sounds awesome ^_^ Imagine the POTC tune with a squeeky duck | 2009-04-19 01:01:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
Are you sure metal impact will work? I'm sure it randomly changes pitch sometimes. | 2009-04-19 01:06:00 Author: S-A-S--G-U-N-R Posts: 1606 |
Are you sure metal impact will work? I'm sure it randomly changes pitch sometimes. It's not drastically noticable, but I gave up on it anyway and headed back to piano, which sounds pretty stupid on its own.. Who knows, maybe the create pack might have a few sound secrets? | 2009-04-19 15:45:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
As someone who does sound design (among other things) for a living in animation, I'm really amazed at the lack of good sounds available to us, and the plethora of garbage ones that came with the game. For all it's creative potential, this game is seriously lacking in one of the key elements in creating games or an environment with which to draw your audience in. There are plenty of cheap sound libraries out there, and it's even easier to hire a decent sound person to go out and get some good recordings. Personally, I'm really miffed that they didn't include the sound of a tree falling in a forest with no one around. That... and more mechanical sounds. | 2009-04-23 07:20:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

There are alot of people that create music levels. I think adding notes to the pitch adjuster when tweaking sounds would also be very helpful. Or perhaps even a keyboard scale instead. | 2009-04-23 14:47:00 Author: Sosaku Posts: 146 |
What a refreshing topic... In video games I've often noticed the focus is always on the 'Visual', normally at the expense of graphics' equally important, yet under appreciated little brother; 'Sound'. LBP is no exception though way better than most. For example: When tweaking a piston/or some such thing- I have the ability to make it invisible (a great option to make levels look more visually appealing.) In the same vein, As a creator, I would like the right to make sound invisible. A 'Silent' feature I believe is what is most missing right now from LBP (well, that an a importing tool. I'd like to be able to utilize the rocket engine or emitter and either silence the sound associated with the given object or assign a completely foreign or different sound to it. Can I have my crown now? Whaddayathink? | 2009-04-23 21:53:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |

@Rust, that's what I was thinking.. it can't be that difficult to record some descent sounds.. maybe even just a days worth of work would suit me fine.. In the same vein, As a creator, I would like the right to make sound invisible. A 'Silent' feature I believe is what is most missing right now from LBP (well, that an a importing tool. I think it's only the rocket thats a hastle on this account.. Or collision on objects, good idea though Read the EULA, Your gameing experience may change online That's beside the point.. They're hardly gonna fair well with parents complaining about their kids learning "new words" on what seems a very friendly game. It's all about practicality, and opening LBP up to violent language really isn't practical in the slightest. | 2009-04-24 18:26:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
