By the way... The only reason why I put the topic here was because the level IS done, except I want to add some Global Setting Changer Thingermajiggers in there also.2009-04-13 00:31:00

Cool, I'll try check it out when I'm on.

I really wish the new monster hunter was for ps3 and not Wii...

I have both but I have a feeling the Wii controls are just gonna feel tacky for the swordplay especially. Also PS3 would at least give it a chance of having a good online party mode. Whereas Wii is just destined to fail

I agree about everything you just said, haha. I own a Wii also but don't really want MH3 because the controls WILL be messed up. Not to mention playing online is going to be harder than it ever was...

By the way, don't bother trying to find the level, it won't be published until the 16th or 23rd (Which ever one will have the Global Settings Tool in it).

That's true; free is good. And waiting will make the level every bit better to play when it's finished. 2009-04-13 04:31:00

I'll have to try this out then. I believe the global settings tools comes out on the 23rd with the Create Pack 1!, so you'll have to wait till then 2009-04-13 18:19:00

I'm really impressed Xenifus!

Really beautiful level with some great ideas. Starts out simple but really picks up the pace in the second half.

That raft ride looks incredible, I bet it's laggy online though. If there are problems with lag in that section, make the water particles slightly bigger, but with as little corners as possible. I had the same problems with my Zoo level, but its working perfectly now.

Also that waterfall at the start, you could just put a patterned piece of glass on a piston and have it move up and down really fast. If you get the timing right, you can give the illusion that its sliding downwards. Check out TJapan's Capybara level or Kappa's autumn level. They both have this effect.

Also the boss looks brilliant. Lovin the Godzilla lazer roar ^^
I noticed there's a bit of background showing through the water he's in though, maybe you should give the pool a blue background.

Anyhow looking forward to playin your level when its done.

Noted all of those little pointers. I started out with a glass emitter for the worst waterfall hoping it would look a little better, but maybe I'm better off just going with the good ol' piston idea. I'm making the Plesiohr (the boss) bigger, and fixed his radiation laser so that instead of creating a vertical wall of horrible gas, it would just properly stream with the light, along with a faster head speed, making the Plesiohr much more dangerous and worth fighting. Thanks for all of the help!2009-04-13 22:52:00

Level has been published! The only reason I kept it waiting until now was so I could add the final global lighting effects. Enjoy!2009-04-25 18:48:00

The cave lighting effect is kind of cool, it makes it seem like a whole different environment. The ending one seemed out of place though, and i didnt understand why it was there. When i played the level the first time, the raft flipped over D: That didnt matter much because the door moved, but it was still a bummer. guess i'm not seaworthy D:
The spikes on the monster are kind of hard to see... and the moving glass hurt my eyes >.> Plus, i could see the bottom of the glass, you might want to move it down a little more. you should also move the door back a little, as where the door is is within the monsters firing range, and you can spawn to immediately die.

Its a nice concept, and i could easily see a series being made out of this (never played Monster Hunter before)

I'll try moving the door closer to the bridge, thanks. Now, the waterfall hurt your eyes, you say...? And I had a little trouble getting the spikes more visible, but maybe they can be tweaked a littler more. Thanks for the feedback! 2009-04-26 15:01:00

Yeah... idk, just the up down movement made my eyes spazz or something lol It might have been related to the fact that i could see the bottom moving.

perhaps you could sticker the spikes a more vivid color? They're just hard to see behind the moving glare of the waterfall.

I checked it out the other night and it's got some cool stuff going on. Nice landscape design but a little bare in some spots. The raft was a cool idea and of a party of 3 I was the only one to survive but I didn't let go of the raft so that could have been the trick. lol

I love the design of your Sea Demon. He's got a great texture and color. The godzilla laser is brilliant and I love the sound effect you chose for it. The spikes on his tail are a nice touch but hard to see at first and they took me out a few times.

I think my favorite part was at the beginning where you have your characters picture up. Had a lot of fun with my friends taking photos there with various decorations around. I forgot to upload one for you though.
It's a great idea for a series of levels. I gave this one 3 stars but if the visuals were punched up a bit I'd have no problem giving it a 4 star rating. Thanks for sharing it!
