Bioshock level
Archive: 11 posts
Hi, Ive just started playing LBP again after my ps3 broke and i lost all my last levels ]: Anyway, ive seen a good bioshock level, but what it lacked was the use of plasmids (If anyone doesnt know what plasmids are, ask.) Ive came up with an idea for a way to use plasmids, in this terrible drawing What your looking at is the thick line being a line of dark matter, the contraption at the top is a creature with 2 wheels and a brain with a huge radius set to follow. The blue line is an invisible piston and the yellow circle is grab material. However, i need a bit of help: 1) Is there any way to make the grab material invisble? 2) The creature is too slow, how can i make it keep up with the player? (The speed is already at full) Any help or comments appreciated | 2009-04-12 00:18:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |
You could use some cowed sponge so it looked like rubber, as for the speed thing you'll just have to slow the player down with that design but you could look at making something like what was used in the double jump invention (objects section). | 2009-04-12 00:21:00 Author: Shermzor Posts: 1330 |
I could use some what? And how would making it look like rubber make it invisible? | 2009-04-12 00:23:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |
Rubber can be made invisible if it's very small as can dark matter. Cowing a material is the old glitch where you make a material look like another but have the properties of the original e.g floaty wood, dissolveable metal. | 2009-04-12 00:30:00 Author: Shermzor Posts: 1330 |
Thanks Now, how do you cow things? | 2009-04-12 00:50:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |
Search the forums and I think in the project or help section there is a thread. On my Ipod so I can't copy a link. | 2009-04-12 01:37:00 Author: Shermzor Posts: 1330 |
I found the cow glitch and tried it, but it doesnt seem to work :/ | 2009-04-12 02:08:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |
The cow glitch was patched a while ago...you can't do it any more luckily TJapan has set up a level which gives you a wide selection of glitched materials exclusively to LBPC! Isn't that kind? Any way...linky...https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=9716&highlight=moo9 | 2009-04-12 10:50:00 Author: adlingtont Posts: 321 |

I've played the Bioshock demo at least... so i know what plasmids are (shocking enemies FTW ).... not entirely sure where you're going with for this though (ie: what part is the plasmid). If the "monster" part isn't entirly necessary- you could also use a player tracking device to make the "plasmid" follow you. I picked one up from a creator named Reinhart, where he used it to make a sunrise/sunset example- but it works just as well for making things follow the player. (i used it in one of my levels to make the boss follow you around XD (he had no monster brains, so i had to improvise )) Because a player tracker is on a piston- you could adjust how fast the plasmid moves to follow you. Hope it helps, if not, ah well, i gave my two cents and tried | 2009-04-15 01:52:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
Sounds excellent, thanks! To be honest, I dont know where im going with the plasmids at the miute.I had the idea at like midnight a couple of days ago, and now ive kind of lost it. BUT I will persevere and remember what i was going to use it for xD | 2009-04-15 13:02:00 Author: Fish94 Posts: 554 |
