So before LBP came out and this site REALLY got going this place might as well have been PKMCentral. What do you guys think about the game? I'm pretty far in Pokemon Fire Red (Safari Zone) and just started Pokemon Emerald.

It's weird having Mudkip in the actual game after becoming an internet sensation, huh?

I might have to get a DS to get the new ones. My computer can't handle the DS emulator. >_<

Oh, and wouldn't it be easier to just use an ultra ball on Zapdos? It's a legendary pokemon, I think it's kinda worth it.

Unless of course there's a chance that the pokeball might miss.

I've been trying to catch Dratini, but it's hard....

I think that Pokemon should introduce something that challenges you after you get your pokemon too awesomely good. Like when my Charizard is level 70 and my Dragunite is level 90, it's pretty much over. >_>

There are 491 pokemon in the pokemon online index but officially there 493, not including Misingo (sp?) or any other 'glitch' pokemon.
I remember the games...wow...recently I had a little retro gameboy fest...pokemon and tetris until both game boys ran out of battery...

Play it at school when the teacher's droning on about the exact same stuff I've learnt last year.

Lol, I might download the emulators and play them, I remember taking my gameboy in the bathroom with me, and playing on the toilet, LOL.

Then after 5 minutes or so my neck would be cramp from looking down for so long.

Oh and there was this weird trend going on about 4 months ago at my school, about almost all the really "popular" seniors started bringing their gameboys to school to play pokemon in art class.

Pokemon-wise the only pokemon im playing now is pokemon crystal and pokemon Emreald on the emulators =)

Gold was the first one I played and I fell in love with cute, cuddly Abra. When he evolved into Kadabra, well... game over...

Before long he - in Leaf Green at least - knewThunder Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, and Psychic. Not much of a challenge after that.

A couple random things now:

- I thoroughly enjoyed naming my Pokemon after Biblical characters. I had Samson, Ezekiel, Gabriel, Job, Goliath, Jezebel, Eve, Ishmael, Isaiah, Isaac, etc.

- How many other people were super-annoyed that Onyx sucked tremendously? I mean, there was so much squandered potential there. Steelix was just as bad too. 		2009-04-15 21:30:00

I loved the new pokemon in Crystal generation they rocked!

Another cool question is which eevee evoultution is coolest.

I know for a fact that Generation II was the smallest (Gold/Silver/Crystal), Generation IV does have the most awesome legendary pokemon. THERE ARE GIANT DRAGONS THAT CONTROL TIME, SPACE, AND DIMENSIONS!

I was seriously disappointed when I caught Zapdos.

...Seriously... My Raichu is way better than Zapdos.

Well, I'm pretty sure that there are always 2 pokemon games that each have exclusive pokemon to it, and then a remake of BOTH of them will come out with all catchable pokemon from those games.

I got a pokemon manga in Canada. It was weird, because I had never read one of 'em and You had to read it backwards and from right to left. But Munchlax is awesome.

I'm totally getting a DS for Pokemon Platinum.

There different.

Its a whole different world with new cities and gyms.

Storyline remains same mostly. ( you have a rival and you eventually make it to the elite four)

Dude, ALL of the new Gen IV pokemon are great. There's a pokemon that evolves into a REFRIGERATOR! Too bad I don't have the game so I won't be able to download the awesome code to get it.

there's usually a set of 3 colours that are exactly the same, but each set has more new pokemon/story/world etc

like you have gold, silver, crystal that are the same
ruby, sapphire and emerald are the same

then there's pearl, diamond and platinum.. but platinum is the first time that they've made improvements to the previous games and changed the storyline slightly		2009-04-21 15:51:00

blue? I guess you mean some new shade of blue, I have pokemon red/blue (the first ones) and neither of them have genders.

There were no pokemon genders in the first generation, aka blue, red and yellow.

Genders were added in the second generation, gold silver and crystal. Crystal being the third game that is a mix of the other two, like yellow, platinum and I think Emerald...

No, I know genders for pokemon were in silver and gold. remember, that was for breeding purposes, so it has no correlation to humans being either gender.		2009-04-21 21:50:00

Anyone else think the concept of a game is kind of scary? Wasn't Ash like 10 years old in the cartoon? But here he is, off to fend for himself, traveling around the world to catch, train, and breed monsters for the sole purpose of combat and survival. Thats what I am trying to do :3. Become popular, and then completely change the social ins and outs of my school! Starting with Pokemon, and then Naruto. Priorities my friend, priorities. I'm already friends with the populars. You never realize how OK they are until you are friends with em eh? And if I ever brought in a Gameboy, I would TOTALLy bring in an old game boy color. The yellow kind.

Anyway. I used to love Pokemon! So addictive. I am currently working on Pokemon Platinum (A ROM, since we dont get it in Aus for like another month. But it's a cartridge rom so it feels real! :3. I used to actually complete the objective of the game (COllect em all) but now there are just too many. I also remember when it changed from "Collect 'em all" to "Oh, you can just see em all. Don't worry" Which kinda took the fun out of it.

I am only 12, so I can only VAUGLY remember the craze (So sad I missed it) and when the Year 10's and things were playing it.

Now, the hype has ended and I am so saddened by that. Why did it have to end?! Anyone else remember the cable connecter to trade Pokemon? And that big and little one to trade between different types of Gameboys? Ah, the good times.

I ca still easily remember the first time I met Lugia in that darned cave at school. I accidentally shut the game off DX. Lugia is still the coolest legendary. There are like 50 legendaries now. Why don't they just let us catch the old ones?		2009-04-24 09:31:00

lol, man i used to have at least one version of each game. My brother always got the other version XD
And i actually got all for each generation, kinda crazy looking back on it.
The most difficult for each were Mew, Jirachi, Deoxis, Celebi, and Mewtwo....
Haha, and who can forget "Missigno" the glitch pokemon in the Red Version,which gave another sweet glitch, just find it, kill it and whichever was your 6th item in the bag you were given like 3 sets of 99 of that item.

There was also a way to do that in the 2nd generation versions, but i forgot how...

NEWS!


Nintendo of Japan has been hinting at it recently, but now the news is official - Pokemon Gold and Silver are being remade for the Nintendo DS!

Set for a Japanese release this Fall to co-incide with the original games' ten-year anniversary, the remakes (dubbed Heart Gold and Soul Silver) will be remade using the revised Pokemon Platinum engine and feature all the perks afforded to them by current hardware, including all-new graphics, music and additional content.

Oh my GOODNESS! I cant wait for it. My favourite Pokemon game was Silver and I still have it (Actually it's in a box less than a metre behind me).

I don't think I played Gold but back when Pokemon was still all that, these were the two games to play.

Maybe step 2 is to release it? Anyways I'm glad that Nintendo have finally gotten around to remake pokemon Gold and Silver! Hopefully it'll have new additions like the islands you could go to on Fire red and Leaf green.		2009-05-10 21:30:00

I've been playing Pokemon Emerald and I caught and Electrike! Um....are they good?

Seriously, the Pokemon get ugly every generation. The best were the 1st generation, followed closely by the 2nd generation. Then, Nintendo decides to slap the ugly stick on them. *sighs*

Anyways, you guys should try out Shoddy Battle. It's exactly like Pokemon, minus the training/rpg elements. The Battles are insane, and you can carve out your dream pokemon team! You guys should check it out.

Of course, this is no way in comparison with the original ones. The Training/RPG elements are 70% of the fun in the game!		2009-05-11 08:46:00

Seriously though, have you played the 3rd or 4th generation? This is something I see in my school a lot. After you stop liking something, anything added on to it "sucks". I see it everywhere with everything. If we all stopped liking LBP everything added on would seem stupid. Seriously, the new Pokemon aren't ugly at all (Piplup is the cutest of them all), you've just stopped liking them.		2009-05-11 20:12:00
