Melody Maker

Archive: 10 posts

The Melody Maker, like the name says, allows you to make short little songs and play them back. As far as I know, this is the second level in Littlebigplanet that does this. The first one I forgot the name and creator, but this one is much simpler and easier to use anyways.

All you do is press the buttons to add notes, then press and hold a button to play it back. What's really neat about the Melody Maker is that it has a simple visualizer. It's a spinning circle that lights up to the music. Recently I have added the ability to turn off the spinning if it's too loud.

It is called "The Melody Maker". My PSN is "livingston_tf"
Since the Melody Maker is constantly growing, it would be helpful if you guys could give me suggestions/ideas for the future.

Very cool. What I would like to see would be the ability to add more notes and to end the level.

Be sure to check out my level Lollipops and Termination Obstacle Course.

I might try to go for more notes, but due to sackboy's limited hearing abilities, It will be kinda hard to do.
I don't think it's really necessary to add a scoreboard. Just "Return to Pod" in the pause menu.

Maybe you could make all the notes have a keyswitch on them and when the stack gets too high the keyswitch would activate and pull the emitter over to another slot for notes. You could do that for maybe three slots.2009-04-19 00:32:00

Looks pretty nifty, I'll definitely try this out sometime.

If you have time, could you check out my music level in my sig. Its also interactive like yours, but the music is pre-composed, but you have control over the order of the melodies.

You should add a secret bonus for people that play a paticular series of notes.

Also, add a scoreboard. Many will rate it low just because.

I agree. It needs a scoreboard for when people are finished. It just makes the level feel more complete and it would take no time to add.2009-04-19 18:27:00
