What should I finish first?

Archive: 30 posts

OK, I know it seems a bit ridiculous to be complaining about having too many games but I just can't decide what to finish first and I usually end up not playing anything or just playing Oblivion or demos or my PSP. So I've decided to let everyone else decide for me .

Dead Space: Finished Chapter 3
Bioshock: Finished Welcome to Rapture.
Fallout 3: Started a new games to upgrade stats better, finished Galaxy News Radio.
GTA IV: Just did my first helicopter mission.
Valkyria Chronicles: On Chapter 4.
Folklore: Beat Chapter 1 with both Ellen and Keats (lost my previous saves).
Half Life 2: Will have to start again... **** forgot I lost my saves when my PS3 broke. Still the start is excellent to I won't mind too much . Lost Portal saves too .

EDIT: To clarify, no I haven't finished HL2 yet. Just looked at a guide and it seems I was over half-way through .

Skate: At the point where you decide what label to take.
Mirror's Edge: About half-way through I think.
Pixeljunk Eden: About half-way through with all Spectras in the levels I've finished.

I chose Dead Space, but if I could have another vote it would be BioShock, both games have amazing endings.

Bioshock = Twisted Ending
Dead Space = Just amazing game overall.

P.S. Take every letter from the start of the chapter and see what it spells.

Dead Space, unless you haven't finished HL2. If you haven't finished HL2, go play it NAO!2009-04-10 02:43:00

Bioshock is tremendous and if all you've done is welcome to rapture then you've missed on some epic scenes.2009-04-10 11:34:00

I say GTA IV, just because it's a good game, but if you stay off it too long you may find it hard to get back into the story, and then you might never finish it. I had that problem when my 360 broke and i had to get a new account, but now i am back into it a lot, though i am only 13% in. So go do it, or you may never!

/end pointless reasoning

Personally I think Half Life. I'm a big fan of the orange box and the whole story is really well done and **** fun. But I bet ep 3 won't be on PS3 :/2009-04-10 15:46:00

I've finished Portal about... 6 times at this stage . I just lost my saves for it. Played through most of it again yesterday!

I'm currently switching between a lot of games. GTAIV, Fallout 3, Pixeljunk Eden, Portal and HL2. When I finish GTA and HL2, I'll move on to Dead Space and then Bioshock!

Thanks for the replies and votes BTW everyone!

Oh and I just did that EPIC mission in GTAIV... though it was a little short and wonder of wonders... I didn't die!!!

Go with Dead Space and GTA IV. Dead Space's horror sometimes makes you want some breaks, and that is when you play GTA IV, which isn't scary at all. It's all happy and stuff.2009-04-11 15:51:00

Must be 3 leaf clover; if he made it through first time without dying that would explain the happiness.

You... ROB A ****ING BANK!!!

And the execution is as good as or better than you could realistically hope it would be . Very fun, though IMO a little too much cut-scene and a little short but it's a blast while it lasts.

I'd say GTA IV, for what i've been reading, you're about 3-5 hours from finishing in speed play or about 6-8 in regular playthrough.
And yeah, that 3-leaf clover mission was great, probably the best bank robbing mission in all GTA games or any games where you rob banks

I did that 3 leaf clover mission in one, it was very a very fun level. I would recomend GTA IV or Dead Space first.

EDIT: Just seen Mirror's Edge on the list, this is quite an easy game to finish quickly by the way.

I need to rent Deadspace to finish it off. It was actually really good considering some bad reviews.

I still laugh whenever I see someone saying it's scary. I think Bioshock scarred me for life so I don't find other games scary anymore; Fear was a pushover I couldn't stop laughing when Alma came at me while I had the harpoon gun though what I used to shout out is not fit for these boards it's witty.

That moment in Bioshock with the living statues was scary enough, but when I went into the flooded basement and picked up a gene tonic and turned round to see three dancing statues I just chuckled because I knew the score. I just punched incendiary bolts through their heads and giggled. Then just as I went to loot the first one it disappeared! Game must've bugged and I panicked so badly I ran straight to the Bathysphere.

Deadspace I can't see how you can say it's remotely scary when you have a gun that fires controllable buzz saws; I just yell out "It's rippin time zombies!!" and go chainsaw on their *****.

One time a literally shouted out LLLLEEEERRRROYYYY JJJEEEENNNNKIIINNSSS and just went on a rampage about the point that you fight the invincible bloke.

But how can you be scared in that game lol; you just have to saw off their legs then stamp on them with a 50 ton foot.

Got a good bit through Half Life 2. At the coast at the minute, in the buggy. Just after getting by the train that hurtles towards you... I'd be very surprised if anyone got through that first time! I think I'm coming up to the car batteries part now (not too far from where I was before I lost my saves) so I think I'm about half way through the game!

It really is excellent, and not really like any other game I've played. It's hectic and full of action but at the same time the world is fully immersive and believable.

At the same time though, I'm a little unsure whether I will remember it as fondly as some of my favourite games when I'm finished as while it is memorable in a "Oh yeah that was cool!" kind of way, it isn't a vivid memory like say ripping the head of Medusa in God of War or taking down a colossus in SOTC... that's the best I can explain the feeling. It could be because I just don't like FPSs so it really must say something about the game if I'm enjoying it this much. Or it could be because it's so grounded in reality. Still I'll hold my final judgement until after I've finished it and Eps 1 & 2.

Getting a bit further in Pixeljunk Eden. Have 3 Spectras in Garden 7. I can't believe it has 49 seeds! That trophy's gonna be tough!

I would do dead space. It only takes around 11 hours to finish, and its really, really epic in my opinion.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is not that great. To me, it just deteriorates into randomly shooting and stealing cars for hours on end. That really...sucks.

Play Dead Space on a difficulty that will give you a challenge. Otherwise, it isn't scary at all. Though most people are so desensitized to violence today that they refuse to feel any fear, even from games designed for it.

although I wouldnt call it awful I would deff say they made a big downgrade from san andreas and even the PSP games. But I say finish Fallout 3 or Half Life 2...flip a coin lol
