Y'know. I'm going to go out on a limb and go off topic for a sec before the arrows start flying.

Calling your level "the best level ever", unless you are doing a parody, is only begging to receive negative feedback and generally causing an uproar. You should really try to find meaningful names for your levels. The best book in the world is not called "The Best Book Ever" and the best movie is not called "The Best Movie Ever". In fact many would argue that there is no such thing as a best book or best movie, and I would argue that there is no such thing as a best level.

As a real world example, here's what happened in a previous thread in which the author claimed to have made the 2nd best level in LBP history : https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=9113

Thus, I would ask the author and everyone who responds in this thread to try not to let this turn out the same way the other thread did. It's really not helpful to anyone.

On topic, the level looks alright. Nothing fancy, and I've spotted many areas that are probably not multiplayer-friendly and others that are not failure-friendly. It's also pretty surprising that you have a video at all though, most controversy-causing levels don't bother to put the extra effort.

Thanks for pointing that out Gilgamesh. I was in the process of trying to find that thread to give CreateNPlay a heads up on hyperbole around here.2009-04-09 19:22:00

"Points at CreateNPlay and starts a high-pitched scream"

No seriously, I'm pretty sure the levels' title is intended to be humorous.
Let's not allow this thread to spiral out of control like the last one.

I agree. "the best level ever" isn't exactly a good and attractive name for a level, no offence. Here's some tips on your next project. Add stuff like stickers to your materials to make your level much more alive and colourful, focus highly on the visuals of the level, add some sort of storyline (it only has to be really simple, but a storyline usually keeps players more interested) focus on making fun platforming parts (there's many, many levels out there that should give you inspiration for that one) and don't have any random point-fest areas.

I hope those tips helped.

I agree with you completly Gilgamesh, you should listen to him CreateNPlay.
Also, callling your first level "The best level ever," does that seriously sound in any way right?
For a title to that level i'd reccomend something quick or simple, like "Mini addventure" or something that.
Also, don't call your levels the most of anything either (Hardest/funniest/ awsomest level ever) that will bring a lot of negative comments as well.

Okay, I went ahead and played this. First of all I'd like to say based on your replies to this thread you are OBVIOUSLY NOT comparable to that other author. It was less the title to his level and more his arrogant reaction.

So, you've been very nice with the critisism and I'd like to officially welcome you to this forum.

I played the level - and I don't think you should change the title! (I'm going to get a bunch of mad private messages for that....) I can see the tongue-in-cheek nature of what you did and it's a pretty entertaining and funny level (I actually loved how you purposely made the final loop a little wacky so the exit is hilarious).

I also liked the way you destroyed the beginning of the level.

This wasn't TECHNICALLY a great level, but I laughed pretty hard on a couple places.

I had fun. Can't give you a heart for this one, simply because of length - but I wish I could. I did give you a 4 star, however (it's worth 3 really.... but the ending loop did it for me).

One big suggestion - if you're going to go for totally strange and wacky - I would think of as many totally weird and unrelated things you can throw in, and extend this level to the limits of your thermo. Ram the player into stuff, drop stuff - go crazy!

Also, take out the H4H stuff from your description - it cheapens your level and causes less quality plays. No self-respecting creator is going to give it a shot, and hearts from non-creators won't in the long run get you more plays - so you will get some more initial plays but it will be counter productive in the long run.

Wow CC thanks. Very nice of you to give me positive feedback.

The title was meant to be sarcastic but sarcasm is hard to see in text.. (i know..)

The destroy thing was so buggy.. hence the giant plate of cardboard.

I woulda given it 1 star because it sucks but thanks.

Im sketching/brainstorming some ideas but i would always love a little guidance.

Ok.. but ill keep F4F in.

I'm also adding you.. your actually really nice
