BACK TO LIFE AGAIN!!!

This is my first LBP level that I have put into the Projects section

Possible Name: 'Escape From - -' (not sure where you have to escape from yet, or if this even suits the level at all- new suggestions apreciated)
EDIT: NEW NAME- 'The Island Of No Return', I will probably be sticking with this one.

Type of Level: Spooky platformer, Currently more about novelty things happening to the player- left to right, will probably have to make more verticle gameplay. Difficulty- Easy (will try to increase it)
EDIT: Might be hard to increase the difficulty because of thermometer issues.

Description: A misty sort of atmosphere, at late evening-night sort of time.Stormy- occasional lightning strikes. Rocky landscape with skeletons, broken wooden bridges, mysterious events that happen. There isn't very much gameplay yet- definitely needs more work on that side of things as it is mostly basic platforming/ swinging and going through the level without too many dangers or interesting objectives.
EDIT: You now go into a building and do some basic platforming, see a guy who gets took by ghosts and get to take his gun. After a very short while you pass through some jetpacks and it says 'No weapons beyond this point'. I've also added a chase at the end, it will, however, require a lot of tweaking first as there are a lot of glitches.

Current Plot: There isn't really enough story in it yet to fully call it a 'plot', but so far I've included skeletons holding messages and a ghostly sort of figure appears before you walk into some invisible electricity guarding some points. There is a crashed car and a house on fire and your sackboy will say stuff like "I must get out of this place." when you come across these things.
EDIT: Ok, so now I've decided on ghosts, probably a bad idea. This level, I've now decided, is going to fail on the story side of things (and almost everything else).

Level Features: Lightning strikes- Simple really; I captured an electrified glass shape, put it in an emmiter and set it to appear every 0.1 seconds and disappear that quickly aswell when the player goes into the range of the sensor. There are also lights that light up to add to the effects, they are wired up to a mag key/ switch combination on a spinning wheel. The problem with that is that sometimes the lights can stay on, it could easily be fixed with an emmiter but it doesn't bother me too much.
Throughout the level I have added 'dynamic' lighting with large, dim lights. I have also tried to add as many small details as possible like when you can see a faint beam of light coming through a skylight in a house. Powerlines fall down in the storm and the electricity flickers.
The only main dangers are fire 'barrels' chasing you down a small cave, falling off of objects and falling platforms the player was walking on like bridges and rocks (done by disolve between materials- disolves when sensor is activated) that fall into gas.
EDIT: More dangers will occur in the 20 second chase at the end, 20 second chase= too short gameplay, too short gameplay= failure... most likely.

Other Comments: The thermometer has one bar left... not much room for anything but one final chase that doesn't fit in right with this level. I was going for a very long level here, how do some people make such big levels- like 'Abyss', by Jaeden (I think that's how you spell their name).

THE YARG HAS SAVED US ALL!!!, well... this level.

I copied the level to another place on my moon and it's working again!!!!! (It was broken before the update).

Getting to work on it now!

The Trampled Hero;
Escape From Banshee Island

(note, a beginning name helps to make sequals
hence, future levels about the trampled hero)

description could be like,

This small hero has dealt with alot, and now hes tied of being pushed around, its his turn to strike back. Now our hero has found himself tangled in a ghostly mysterious city. Can the hero gather enough courage to kill the Banshee and escape this terrifying haunted island?

Why? Why? Why!?!?

STUPID LBP GAME SAVE GLITCH!- "FAILED TO LOAD LEVEL!"

Ok, so I was just making some major changes to the level and continuing, just as I was putting in some gravestones (heh, how convinient), the level died. I was putting in some invisible dark matter supports on a gravstone in the front layer (so I wouldn't have to glue it) and it looked, for some reason as if it went through all the layers. So anyway, I tried to re-wind... no change I tried again numerous times and it still didn't work. I then pressed play and the gravestone fell to the floor (as expected), I pressed re-wind again and it didn't work. Luckily (or so I thought at the time) it wasn't that long ago since I'd saved, so I decided to change to play mode and not save the changes... "Failed to load level". Took me straight back to the pod, I tried it again and to no surprise- it wasn't working. An old trick I'd heard was that if you copied the level then it could be revived, didn't work either. Yep- dead XP.
I can only hope that the Cornish Yarg can save me now.

Oh, thanks for the input by the way- I'm going to try your level now and then not play LBP again untill the Yarg arrives.

sorry to hear that, it happened to my "dream world" level, idk what the _ _ _ _ happened but it revived AS A DISASTER... like 500 glitches everywhere... still works just has some failiure in particularly the pet area, and the boss area... but i continued on with it,
(the pet gun randomly stops shooting every now and then ???)
and the like the other attacks of my boss, i set the effects and key things to dissolve so when he is killed the attacks stop... but the missles still go after you even after hes dead,.... the switches are the same settings, destroyed as the others...

This happened on of my other levels aswell last week (was just messing around in create mode), I haven't had this happen to me before then either. I was going to put another one of my levels being made into a project thread but, well now I won't for a while. I'm sure there's a way to get your level back if you send it to MM but I'll see after th update.

EDIT: I've played your level an it is a very fun and original concept. It's well made and the only fault I have with it is that sometimes the leaning to go left/ right can flip. 5 stars and hearted because it's a good design and no one else has made this type of space suit before.


tyvm, but remember, no strings or nothing, is souly made from tricks, a glitch effect, a wieght system to float/balance
so there is pretty much a 0% chance of anyone being able to copy it....
and dont give your hopes up on your levels, trust me, you should keep going, the 2nd time will end up even better, just like my pod,
1st try was nice,
2nd try was AMAZING, has great symetrical detail...

KEEP TRYING, and never, NEVER, NEVER give up!

and trust me, if someone should be mad, it'd be me,

I'm definitly not going to give up on my levels aswell, creating is my favourite part of LBP, I'm just not going to load them again untill the Cornish Yarg update where there is a feature that will apparently fix peoples levels better. And that's really bad about the trophy thing.

apart from other space levels, mine actully is SPACE... cuz your gonna be floating around and stuff...
this level is gonna take forever, but im gonna make it insaine....
