So, did anyone get this game yet? I got it for Xbox 360. So far it is really good. It is highly polished (Their lighting is great), and it is quite fun. My only complaints so far are that it seems a bit frustrating at parts, and the multiplayer had potential, but it's not very good. I had never played the original, so this remake + new game is an awesome deal!

I haven't picked it up, but i think i will, as i've heard very good things about the game. Also starbreeze (the developers) are located in uppsala (where i live)!

Don't let the fact that it's based off of a movie dissuade you from buying it. This is one of the few movie games that is good . Also, to answer your question, the game is an FPS, but of a different kind. There is a lot more stealth than most FPS games, and if I had to put it into one genre, I would say it's a stealth game. There is a sort of HUB, where you come back and get side-quests. It feels like an adventure game sometimes, and has a bit of RPG elements (sidequests and inventory, upgrades, etc.) Also, I actually care about the story. It's actually worthwhile. I highly recommend it. If you get it at Gamestop for a limited time, you can get a download code that has a commentary mode.

I haven't played the previous Riddick game, so I'm really looking forward to playing the remade original and this new one as well. Bummer to hear that the multiplayer isn't that great though. From what I heard about it, it sounded pretty cool and different.

^ Yeah, about the only thing holding back the multiplayer is the lag. That, and the animations in multiplayer are extremely weird. The running animations look like they are fast-forwarded at 10x speed

Ok, so I have been playing this game a lot more recently, and it is a lot better than I initially thought. This is NOT your average FPS. It makes you feel like you are a part of the world, and there are not many shooting parts. Also, the levels you encounter are awesome. Let's just say that....you aren't just in a prison the whole time. There is even a part that felt like a horror game. This game defies genre. Pick it up if you get a chance!

Was considering buying it but it seems Dark Athena isn't nearly as good as Butcher Bay. I think I'll wait until it comes down in price.
