I'm scared! I have an 80 gig model. I got it last year. So far it's been doing great (my brother is playing RE5 on it with no problems atm) but I fear it may be showing some bad signs. There are two games that I often have problems with, those two being MGS4 and Skate 2. Skate 2 isn't as common and I only really have problems while connecting to MGO, which is fine because MGO is pretty much a SOCOM clone. But sometimes my PS3 won't even read the Skate 2 disc. That scares me! Anyone else have similar problems with Skate 2 or is it just me?

If there's problem as basic a reading the disk, I fear your BD drive might be getting disadjusted. .

Well when my first PS3 died (60 gig), it was working fine for one night and then in the morning wouldn't read any disks at all. If it's just one disk then maybe it's not the console's fault (and maybe you've played Skate 2 for too long :eek:, probably not that though either). When you say you've had your console for a year, has it actually been over a full year? Because usually the PS3's warranty lasts only a year.

It could be that your disk is smudged on Skate, and the MGO servers are disastrous so don't judge your PS3's condition on that.

It could be that your disk is smudged on Skate, and the MGO servers are disastrous so don't judge your PS3's condition on that. I actually don't think it's connecting to MGO, it's just that the little ? show up in front of the disc and it just freezes the PS3.

Yeah that's how mine started. Got a 60 gig and at first it was resistance 2, then cod then killzone and then it worked fine for a week and now I'm lucky to even get on LBP. Bought a cleaning disk and that didn't help either, we took it apart and nothing seemed to be wrong with it so I'm just going to have to buy a new one. This is about 14 months old, got it last christmas.

I think it could just be the game disks right now. Have you tried cleaning the disks and when the games freeze do they cause any problems to the PS3? If you start getting this problem on other games that you don't play on much then I fear something could be wrong with your PS3.

If you start getting this problem on other games that you don't play on much then I fear something could be wrong with your PS3. When MGO freezes it freezes my PS3 and I have to restart. Skate 2, however, never freezes. Sometimes the disc icon for the game doesn't show up so I have to keep taking it out and putting it back in until it works. But then I can play any other game fine.
