Puzzles?

Archive: 11 posts

I was thinking of incorparating, like a card trick, but with colored squares in the game.

So you have to guess which hole the colored squares go in.. 5 squares in total...

Do you think this would end up getting me marked down as people like LBP to be easy?

Also, While im here, Ill be doing something similar to the above, but how to you hook them all to one door, so it wont open till youve done them all...

Thanks

This sounds interesting. I have no idea what you are talking about though...

To solve this thing with the door you could hook them all togehter with an AND switch.

Something like...

The club is to the immediate right of the heart.
Neither the diamond nor the Joker is next to the spade etc etc

But instead of cards, Use colors...??

Which switch?? as ive tried, but it wont let me.. I have 5 Magnetic Key Switches which need to be hooked up to one somehow??

Thanks

Ahh. Now i get it.

An AND switch is no switch in the normal way. To achieve more complex logic mechanisms you need to make them machnical. For an 5 condition AND switch you would make a row of five blocks connected with five hoists and a unmoveable wall. Each of your five switches would be connected to one of the hoists. So only if every hoist pushes it's respectiv block to the side, the last block in the row reaches the next wall. The last block is taged with a key and activates a switch at the wall. There you got it an AND switch.

I understand, But would understand the method better if theres a "How to"??, vid? Pics? Just tomake sure i get it right first time, lol..

Is there? Appreciate the help...

So what do you think of the riddle type Task? I myself would like to see more of this being used.. But im sure there will be alot of players that will just give up???

thanks again

You shouldn't care too much about people and make a level YOU think is awesome.

I agree with RZ. As long as you like you level, that's what really matters. getting good ratings and such is all well and good, but it all boils down to how awesome you think your level is. Of you think 'this is a really cool idea', and people give you 1 star because you included it, who cares? Its your level, not anyone elses.
SP
P.S Havong said all that, wanting other people to like your level is fine, as long as it doesn't detract from your enjoyment of the level. As soon as it starts doing so, the level is as good as it will get.

Sounds like fun
puzzles are great when they're implemented, BC it takes a LOT of effort to make them. Thats always a star bonus if you ask me

I also really like the idea that its a LOGIC puzzle (brainpower FTW ), but idk how well some of the community will take it (it took me 3 tries to find a party of 4 who could understand the 4 player "matching" puzzle in the collector's wilderness >.>)

Also, if you're still looking for "And", "Or", "Nor" or other logic gates, just search "logic gates"- there are a lot of good tutorials out there with explanations (and the gates of course )
