Teleports

Okay, well I have a bit of a problem here. You see, I am tyring to add a teleport in my level. I have set everything up so that all the previous checkpoints/entrances have been crushed, and as well as this, I have placed an emitter which emits a new checkpoint, allowing you to respawn once you have been killed. Now, sadly, when I have crushed all the previous checkpoints, allowed a new checkpoint/entrance to be emitted and I have happily killed myself, the level then zooms in on the emitted checkpoint but my character does not respawn.

What the Hell?

Have I missed out something? I'm becoming increasingly frustrated about this as it is really preventing me from continuing my creation. Please reply if you have the solution!

Is the emitted checkpoint an activated one? Might be wrong, but I think you have to activate the checkpoint before capturing it as an object to be emitted in order for the teleport thingymajig to work.2009-04-05 19:00:00

You can either capture the entrance or you can place a checkpoint down, crush the entrance, then commit suicide and you'll spawn at the checkpoint activating it in the process. Again, might be wrong here - just going off what I remember other people writing on this forum.2009-04-05 19:16:00

That won't work because if you kill yourself in create mode, you spawn in the air (hover mode).

To be more precise, you:
1) Go into create mode (Create a new level)
2) Crush the entrance.
3) Place a checkpoint or double-life checkpoint.
4) Switch to play mode. Your checkpoint should be active.
5) Switch to create mode.
6) Capture the activated checkpoint.

(Note: Make sure you emit the checkpoint with ∞ lifespan if you want it that way.)
