InterCHECK ?

After months upon months of development (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=7214), my 80+ hour level is finally complete!
It's quite short I think, but this is from the perspective of somebody who has played it about 500 times.. so obviously I know what to do, and will be able to do it quickly If there's enough interest, I might add another room!
All feedback is MUCH appreciated. Good or bad

This level is based on the idea that the player's aim in the level, is to take the checkpoint to the scoreboard.
Sound simple? Wrong. The scoreboard is confined to the back layer wall, which the player cannot access.
The only way you can move the checkpoint is by activiating the pistons and mechanisms integrated in the back wall, using the levels and switches in the other two layers!
This is a very neiche level, and is best suited for people who enjoy puzzles, and appreciate complex mechanics.

I hope you enjoy it
And any feedback is good feedback!

Plan to take more soon

None

MANY thanks to LittleBigMe, b-coli and all other beta testers Their beta testing skills are simply phenomenal. Especially b-coli, thanks for all the hours you spent beta testing
Special shout out to the Launch Club members too Thanks for all the help in giving the level a nice start, MUCH appreciated!
More than half of the time spent making the level has been testing, but I recently made a tiny change to the foundations of the level, which would have reduced testing significantly if I'd thought about it before..
Unable to do F4F guys, sorry = Too many external commitments, but if anybody contributes some brilliant suggestions, or brilliant feedback, I'll try and pick out some time to have a shot at one of their levels

Pretty cool level. I can see why this took you ages to put together, and get working acceptibly. It's not entirely perfect, though, as I've encountered a couple of bugs that still exist (which stop the checkpoint from moving to the next place). Some parts are also a little too dark as well.

Very good concept though. 5 stars.

That was a really good original puzzle level! I loved the concept!

The visuals were really good, and well done, with a really original feel. Your use of the teeth (Both the decoration version and sticker version) was very original and gave the level a sort of trademark. The several puzzles were really well done, and were each pretty original.

But I did have a problem that made me restart. At the door in the room right after Room 1, were the floor was electric, I spent around 10 minutes mindlessly wondering around, trying to figure out how to open it it. I restarted the level, and did the same thing I did before, and it opened. I have no idea how I did nor how you could fix it. Also, some areas could have been lighted up, as it was really hard to see. The part were you had to use the hamster wheels, I couldn't really see the tunnels the checkpoint had to g in. It might have just been the slight glare on my TV, but you still should brighten them. The last thing that bugged me was the length, I know you probably hit the limit, but it was still really short.

EDIT: I forgot to add, your icon for your level isn't very eye attracting. Using MM stickers will usually keep people away. Take a cool photo of an 'InterCHECK' sticker, or take a picture of in-game and use that. That will increase your plays and maybe hearts!

Overall it was a great, original level! 5 stars and hearted!

Yeah the big yellow "!" means the icon hasn't loaded yet.

I'll give you some feedback on this Pinch after I've played it again, just incase I missed out on any changes you've made. You've worked real hard on this and it deserves a lot of attention! Its a very unique puzzle game.

Hasn't really went half as good as I'd hoped xD
The launch attempt epicly failed.
I discovered something to kill all the bugs AFTER like 20 hours collective testing that was so unbelievably obvious and would've saved most of that time.
This thread has died a horrific death in the mass of people advertising their mass of levels when I only ask for one.
I've lost all care for this level due to all these things, and I don't really have any urge to maintain it/improve it any time soon.

I really enjoyed this level.... I thought it was incredibly intelligent and had an ingenious design. However, my initial feeling when I played it was "man, this is an AMAZING level that a lot of the noobs in LittleBigPlanet are not going to appreciate".

Actually....... exactly my thoughts when I saw Snowspots LBA series

But you know what? I'm really glad this level was created. I enjoy it when someone creates something original instead of just going after the vast majority of screaming kids as their audience.

I definitly need to play this, I looked at this in development and looked forward to it's completion. From what I know, no one has done anything like this before. I will look at it tomorrow if I have the time.2009-04-16 04:06:00

You know what? You definately deserve more attention, which is why I'm getting on LBP and playing a level, which I haven't done in a very long time.

Just to play this. I'll leave some input after.

EDIT:

Okay, got to play it, here are my thoughts/input.

+It's a new innovative design/puzzle, that I haven't seen anyone use before, good job for that.

+You went all out with creating both a fun puzzle, and some good detail.

+Gave the player an option to go with the hard or normal mode, always a plus.

+The first room is just, really good looking for somereason, it just feels like a really weird room, I can't explain it but it looks nice.

-I didn't get to finish it for one reason, I had no idea what to do in the second section, I'm almost a bit lost as to if I'm suppose to kill myself to get to round 2.

-It's a bit too dark, but that's for me and people have told me that it looks lighter on their TV, so it might just be my TVs lighting, you can disregard this if you feel the lighting is right.

-If you are to grab the reset switch, and don't have piston #1 retracted, in room 1, you aren't able to continue, since the piston never goes behind the checkpoint anymore, forcing you to restart.

-I have no idea what I'm suppose to do in room 2, I got the spawn inside the first circle, and I get it to the second one, grab the switch to push the checkpoint up top, but it keeps falling back down inside the first circle. Am I doing something wrong here?

With a few fixes/touchups, you have some real good potential here, don't give up just yet man, levels like these shine compared to the others, if your doing it for the general audience ( r0ck3t c4r l0v3r5, H4H'ers, screaming kids ) then your doing it for the wrong set of people, you should be doing it for people like this community, and more importantly for yourself. Give it a second shot, maybe republish it and ask some of the amazing members here to give it a headstart?

5 Stars, and a heart for design.

Thank you so much
This means everything.
You may have just restored some hope

I've left in the bits of the quote I'm going to comment on, and I'll do it in order

Is that your way of subtly saying the other rooms look rubbish in comparison? ^_^ I don't mind at all, need to know where to focus the touching up.. But yes, I agree, there's something about it that's better than the rest..
I was worried about this, but nobody gave me feedback on it, now that I have some, I'll put it up a bit
If you don't mind me asking... What the hell is this "reset" switch!? xD I've had a few people talk about it but I have no idea what it is.. which is a bit strange being the creator xD Do you just mean jumping up and grabbing the first switch again? That's not meant to be done Did you have some sort of trouble that meant you had to get a new checkpoint?
You did the correct thing.. I don't know what went wrong.. I've tweaked the first pusher piston so it just reaches (because of another bug if it pushed too hard).. try holding it or spamming it? I'll see what I can do
Ye, I completely understand.. I've aimed it for people like us.. but I don't think the age restriction is going to shoo any people away or anything xD Just the nature of the level.. Thanks a lot, that comment means a lot Restored hope xD Thanks for the stars and heart

Thanks a lot guys I actually have the motivation to do a bit of maintenance on it now other than leaving it to die slowly xD You're comments were brilliant Thanks again

Fixed the piston on room 2 + make it 2 notches lighter
Not sure about what to do with the whole "reset" thing though..
Any suggestions?

It's great seeing some fun original puzzles like this
Makes a nice change from the normal platforming levels we get all the time

I did think it was too dark though (and my tv is usually quite bright), and it was hard to tell where the red sponges were in the first room

I thought it was a bit too short as well, i'd love to see you add some extra rooms

Thanks very much

Hmm.. when did you play it?
I updated the lighting about 6 hours ago, is that still too dark?

I'll maybe consider adding another room in the future, but I'm busy creating for a competition this month

I'ma gonna give it another shot tonight, check out the changes you made. I agree with what Dexiro said, the sponges should be lit cause it was hard enough to notice them even though they were red. I'm sure you've made some improvements on the lighting tho 2009-04-19 21:29:00

Improvements on the lighting? ^_^
I only had enough time to change the darkness...
But I'll see what I can do about making the sponges a bit more obvious
