Geosautus: The scary factory overlooking the curious Village

Archive: 22 posts

Easily my favourite level ever!
We all know that Geosautus is a brilliant creator (whilst everyone in the BETA was creating ramp, he was doing God Of War!)
This level is just beautiful to me. I play it nearly every day because I love it
The villiage is beautifully designed, the factory is fun and everything is created to perfection.
If you haven't played it, then you are really missing out. Go now, stop reading and play it (you'll thank me later).
Oh, and I have #4 on the leaderboard out of around 5,000 people

Yeah, I posted a thread here on all his levels. They are brilliant, have you place the Mystery Mine or Tale of the Magnificent Ruby? They are also spectacular.2009-04-04 21:38:00

Wasn't brilliantly keen on the Mystery Mine Level (but it was a 4 star level still)

Tale of the Magnificent Ruby was the first of his levels that I played, and yes it is awesome!

But Goose, you should definately play them all - they rock!

Geosautus is incredible, possibly the most consistently brilliant creator in the whole community- every level he makes is distinct from the ones that came before it, but equally amazing.

Having said that, The Scary Factory and The Tale of the Magnificent Ruby are my absolute favourites. Everyone should play them!

I played the level, it was absolutely amazing, easily in my top 5.
I think the only thing that the level needs was more of the village, I loved how crooked it was, And it would be awesome if he made another level incorporating more of the village style.

Although another one of his levels, The Tale of The Magnificent Ruby, Is just as good, If not better, and the polish of it rivals MM.

Yeah, but on the Gamefaqs forums he said he didn't have enough thermo, the village was too thermo heavy.2009-04-05 09:01:00

I agree. Geosautus is one of the greatist creators in all of LBP. His scary factory and Tale of the magifincent ruby levels are both a must play in my opinion. I never got to play his God of war level and World of colour though.2009-04-05 10:04:00

You have to play World of Colour, it was the first level in LBP that I ever fell in love with.

World of Colour (and also the Azure Palace) were so far ahead of what everyone else was doing at the time...

Anyway, his later levels have surpassed it in pretty much every area, but it will always be a nostalgic favourite for me.

I thought World of colour was moderated for some reason. At least someone else (not Geosautus) made a second one that's very enjoyable.

I played Mystery Mine and i do feel the same about it...Its probably the sephia tone and fog, to me it wasnt fitting. But nevertheless, The level makes up for it with its gameplay.

Now for the magnificent ruby, that was a great level and i find the boss fight to be fun and interesting, it looks good too..

I think this is his first boss and he did a good job with it.

Also, i seem to have noticed his got a locked level, so he may very well be publishing a new one soon, dont know when.

Now as far as EarthMusic, he wasnt the creator for it lol! i thought it was him. Who created Earth Music anyway?

The thing I've realised about Geosautus' recent levels are that he seems to take a sticker, and then base a whole level around it
The magnificent ruby - the Ruby sticker
The scary factory - the factory sticker

Note that these are also his best levels! I think we should have some sort of contest where you have to make a level are a sticker.....if only I had enough experience to buy the offer exp item
*Sigh*
Anyone who has enough should totally make that contest

I've played this level and it's really good. Even the smallest details in it like at the start when the barrels are being emmited and are supposed to be being thrown out the window by someone who actually pops up, this makes it pass many other levels because of it's detail. The gameplay in the factory was fun and not repetative. The level its self was packed with good looking custom objects and everything was well decorated.

Overall: 5 stars and a heart.

The contest mentioned above would definitly be interesting aswell.

Just played this and it is a very nice level.
4 Stars and a Heart from me. Would have been 5 if only he'd used 100% custom content?!!?!

Woah there buddy, if that isn't a 5 star level, how do you expect to be rated 5 stars? Not trying to defend him or anything, but that is no reason to rate one of the best lbp levels badly

I think, along with most of the LBP community, that is is one of the greatest levels, but I guess SP just has different tastes2009-04-24 06:32:00

The only thing not custom were the clouds lol. That is extremely harsh, even Takelow uses those clouds!2009-04-25 01:46:00

I really liked it, and it would have been 5 even with the clouds, but the expanding platforms are just matierial changed MM stuff. I thought that was a real letdown on an otherwise awesome level, especially as it seemed no one had noticed. Maybe recoulouring is allowed these days, but I'm rather picky about my custom content.

Definitely one of my favourite levels, one of the very first to me that stood out. But as the previous poster said there are things that are taken straight out of MM objects. The clouds as someone has said, I don't mind that though as he obviously needed clouds...there wouldn't be much point in trying to shape his own..

But the expanding platforms that you walk up...and also the conveyor belt was exactly the same a in story mode, and there was something else I think that I can't think of. Still 5 stars and hearted though without doubt.

There's nothing wrong with creators using stock 3D model objects (rather than the ingame tool-built objects) .. they save a ton of thermometer space and look good, it should be encouraged to be used creatively!

Great level, thanks for the suggestion!
