HELP! Had to delete my LBP profile!

Archive: 12 posts

While attempting to copy my LBP profile to a USB flash drive it didn't copy and said the content was corrupted. Yet, upon inspection I could still load levels, and all my content in-game worked fine. (Anyone know what would cause this type of corruption?)

I still needed the ability to copy content to USB so to fix it I deleted my Save file. It works now, and I just re-downloaded my levels on-line.....yet all my stickers, materials, costumes....etc; got wiped clean.

Is there any cheats, or easy way to get all my content back without having to re-play the entire story mode?

PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to go through it all again.......
On the bright side, you ma be able to use the cow glitch (so long as you don't have it updated).

You can use the save file of somebody else if you don't care about Trophies. At least you'll have all the creation stuff back.

Using someone else's profile....wouldn't that mean I couldn't publish a level under my name?2009-04-03 20:39:00

I did that from day one,
trophies smophies.

you just download someone elses savegame (gamefaqs.com has a few good ones), you will still use your own psn.

so no worries

For the future, just because it said the file was corrupted when you copied it doesn't mean your profile is corrupted. It may have been too large to copy to the USB, or there may have been a problem with the USB stick. This message probably meant the file was corrupted AFTER copying (when it compared with the original). The copy function would have no way of knowing if a LBP profile was corrupted.

I probably would have deleted the levels from my moon, then tried to copy (you could always download your levels back to your moon after copying).

But, yes - Luos_Desruc is right - all you need to do is get a profile with all the materials, then copy your levels back to your moon and you should be 100%.

So if I did that gamefaq thing how do you go about installing it? You need to make a profile with the same user name first?

Yet if I publish anything it will be under that other users profile.....correct? LBP recognizes unlocked materials/stickers/objects in other peoples profiles? I'm so confused.

Ok there's 2 things. Your save data and your PSN profile and those aren't tied together for LittleBigPlanet.

What you are doing is using a save data from another player but you will still use YOUR connection profile, your PSN profile. This means you will be able to copy back your levels to your moon, and the futur levels you make will be under your PSN profile, just like before.

Now in order to put the save data into the PS3, you need to create a folder named "PS3" and inside it, a folder named "savedata". In that folder you will drop the one from gamefaqs. This way the PS3 will be able to go read it.

Plug your USB key or whatever your external saving device into your PS3 and then go copy your file into your PS3 under "saved data" in the XMB (the user interface).

DO NOT TOUCH the LBP file under GAME DATA. This is all your patches and DLC.

Help!

So I did as this thread instructs but it isnt showing any data on my USB device to copy...I think this one is working as the other 2 I downloaded didnt work (wouldnt let me unzip them-told me I needed to instal the last disk in the multi-vol set)

I do need to unzip the file and place it in the save data folder I made...right?

when I use the XMB and go to save game section and click on my USB it shows no files to do anything with...I am so confused and frustrated!

Anyone have a clue????

**Figured it out! I had a space between save and data should have been SAVEDATA all one word!**

As useful as this is for creation purposes, I'd rather work for it myself. That way I have something to do when I'm not creating!

But if some horrible thing happens to my profile, I'm just gonna steal a profile.
