Invisible Walls?
Archive: 11 posts
i am trying to make a level with a thick item in the background that goes up or down. Now, if Sackboy jumps, he's gonna end up on top of the thick object in the background. In this part of the level, a mirror doesn't fit the style. So i need something that can't be seen to block Sackboy from jumping to the back planes. I've seen people making invisible floors from dark matter and playing with the transparency of mirrors, so i assume somebody has already figured this out. | 2009-04-02 13:39:00 Author: uzman Posts: 209 |
Easy. If you draw rubber or dark matter really thin, it turns invisible because the rounded edges of the material can't be rendered. So, if you need an invisible wall that says put, us dark matter and draw as thin as you can. If you need an invisible wall that can move, use rubber. In order to prevent sackboy from going backwards OR jumping into something I don't want him in, I usually use a thin rubber pieces right next to each other. For instance, if you look at Dobi6's "It was a dark and stormy night" he had a cage that dropped with a sceleton as a scare. However, you could accidentally end up in the cage. So, he put thin invisible rubber strands in between the bars of the cage to prevent it. | 2009-04-02 13:53:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |

But since you say that you've done it, it should work then. | 2009-04-03 12:53:00 Author: uzman Posts: 209 |
Try turning them diagonally if you want to make sure. You can draw the area a tiny bit bigger so you can see what you're doing then shrink it down until the lines become invisible. | 2009-04-03 13:03:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Try my glitch level. It's got a invisible material that can be resized without losing it's invisibility Much easierthan using rubber and it just acts like a thick layer | 2009-04-03 19:34:00 Author: Pinchanzee Posts: 805 |
Another way to make invisible objects is to make various squares relativelly small, put them together, then shrink them, if they were small enough they should become invisible soon enough, then you can just copy that and put it wherever . THo i usually just use the same metod Ccubbage mentioned. | 2009-04-03 19:40:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
