Cause And Effect 3 (Spotlighted)

Archive: 16 posts

So I'm here to advertise my newest device, called Cause And Effect 3. If you've played the first ones, this ones blows it away. It's longer and way more complex. Here's a couple sample pics:

I loved the first two, so I can't wait to check it out!!

*adds it to long list of levels to play when I get to my PS3*

EDIT: finally got around to playing it...and I don't know what to say. You took it to a whole new level. Amazing.

Excellent work, loads better than the first two with some great mechanics and set pices. I loved the end, made me chuckle, and brought back memories of the obvious

Great work

*****, a heart, and ingenious

I thought it was absolutely amazing. Hearted it and showed it to several of my friends. The ending was amazing. This blows every one of the "cause and effect" copy cats away. 2009-04-03 03:55:00

As you said it yourself, this level blows your other 2 completely away.
This was AWESOME, the ending was both hilarious and ingenious!!

You have fixed the only small problem I had with your previous entries, the lenght, so yeah....great job!!
5 stars and hearted it.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Especially after all the work put into it. The part near the beginning where the cart does a few backflips... that part is INSANELY precise. I couldn't unpause the level in create at all after I made that or it wouldn't work right.

The hardest part with these levels is probably making everything go the same 'speed' (well.. other than actually thinking of stuff to make...) The sackboy is in a box attached to a piston, so it goes at a single speed, it's a pain to make every section last just the right amount. The camera was tricky too, had to be creative with those.

EDIT: If you guys come across a glitch or something doesn't work, please let me know exactly what happened. I've had about 3 complaints out of a few thousand plays so I'm guessing whatever it is is rare. But I'd still really like to fix it, and I've never seen any problem.

The problem I had with it was a lag issue. I was playing with someone from england, and one of the balls didn't flip one of the switches. I cannot remember which one it was, but it was right near the beginning. I can play it again tonight and I'll let you know. It was weird... I played it one player and it worked fine. Two players and I broke it ... I don't care anyway, it's really quite awesome! You should be proud, my friend!2009-04-03 17:57:00

Really amazing series of levels and this one is so brilliant. I didn't have any problems - everything worked just perfectly. It just blows my mind that you can get things so precise! Loved the last reference too. Made me nostalgic. Thanks for making them I'm really enjoying them.2009-04-03 18:10:00

Wow, a excellent piece of art you have there! It's much better than your last two Cause & Effect levels and they both amazed me! I like it how you made it much longer this time around, and the ending is pure genious. If I tried to make something this complex I think I would get really, really stressed. Great work.2009-04-03 19:35:00

Just played this last night. Thought it was spectacular. And, as has been mentioned many times before, the ending was a brilliant stroke. Nigh brought a tear to mine eye.2009-04-03 20:10:00

Loved it! It is my favorite series of Rube Goldberg devices on LBP. Nothing ever went wrong, even if I jumped around a bit. 5/5 and a heart. Loved it!
