No Problem Remember to put a protected brain on it and set the switch to "one-shot"2009-04-01 11:10:00

It should have worked.
Make sure it's wired up correctly as Wex suggested. The only reason for the brain is to make the bad guy die and dissapear, not to control the movement. You should be able to leave the wobble bolts as they are.

I don't think you can hook up the paint switch to the brain, can you?2009-04-01 12:13:00

Well, I havn't tried it myself but I can't see why not. What you definitely can do is hook a paint switch up to a permant switch and hook that up to the brain.2009-04-01 12:18:00

Sometimes brains can not work properly. Listen when you attach the brain. If it makes a weird buzzing noise when you attach it it should work if it doesn't it won't.2009-04-01 12:30:00

Right, Ive done the brain as unprotected and vunerable, and and paint switch hooked up to the brain. I can shoot the switch and it goes down but doesnt destroy it, Only way to destroy it is byshooting the brain even though its wired together??????

Thanks

Do you mean permanant switch? as i cant seem to hook the paint onto another switch?!

There should be no need to hook this up to an intermediate switch (although you certainly can). The paintinator can definitely destroy a brain and it's "creature".

Right, Ive done the brain as unprotected and vunerable, and and paint switch hooked up to the brain. I can shoot the switch and it goes down but doesnt destroy it, Only way to destroy it is byshooting the brain even though its wired together??????

Here's the deal:

Brain: Protected
Paint Switch: Set to One-Shot, as opposed to On/Off or Directional, not as in the number of paintballs to activate. I think this distinction messes a lot of people up.

Any switch can destroy a protected brain and everything attached to it (be careful, because I do mean everything attached to it) if it is set this way.

And the materials mean nothing - check out my 00Sack - Betrayed level (thread in sig). Even if you just watch the vid in my thread, you can see in the VR Training section, I am dissolving entire rooms with complex mechanics in them... with ONE protected brain and a switch set to One-Shot.

Still no luck?!?

Ive put the Paint switch on his chest set at one shot and a protected brain on his side.

I shoot his chest and and the brain disappears, but the characters still there, and so is the switch.!?!?!

Thanks for the help

Well... that is odd. Seems like I had a similar situation with a brain once before. It may be a glitch of some sort, but I think it sometimes doesn't play well if you attach and remove brains multiple times. Seems like for me, I had to start over (which,as I recall was not a real big deal because what I was trying to destroy was a very simple construction, so building it again was not a problem. But that may be bad news to you in this situation).

Try this... create another "creature". Just a block of the same material. Set it up as we've discussed (paint switch on the front, brain on the side) and see if it works. If so (and it really should), you may have to go start over with your creature.
