Hey guys!

I'm hoping to get these LittleBigPlanet Forums started with a Bang. How does giving away a brand spanking new copy of LittleBigPlanet away to one of the loyal users on these boards sound?

All you have to do is sign up, and post at least 10 times. For every 10 posts, you get an entry in the ballot. Winner will be chosen a few weeks before LittleBigPlanet launches! Sign up for Pete's sake, participate, have fun, and good luck!



Some common sense guidelines though

1) No Spamming, multiple in a row posting in a thread
2) No profanity, insults, racial anything anything.... This is NOT like other forums. This is for fun and ideas only. People should feel welcome to post any ideas they want without feeling like they are getting attacked.
3) Members will be chosen only if they are active members. See the "Active Members" area at the bottom? You want to be one of those. It doesn't take much. Just at least post from time to time here. But don't leave the forums for a couple of months, even with a 1000 posts, and then expect to win. You need to stick around for the long haul.

What is a loyal user?
Does that mean we can't post on the other boards?
Will having a rival fan-site disqualify us?
All you have to do is sign up, and post at least 5 times.
Not exactly the best way to get people to vote, but if it works, then that is cool.

I was wondering why people were spamming this board to get their post count up.

Could you do me a favour and state that posts won't be counted if they are spam. Please reward people who write proper posts and actually make it worth coming here.

All very good questions. I'll try and answer quite a few of them.

A loyal user is basically someone who doesn't just post on here for 2 weeks like crazy and then splits for months. They don't have to post an insane amount to be loyal, but I want to see them around from time to time. If for example when I choose a winner, I pick someone who hasn't been here for 2 months, they won't be chosen as a winner. I will keep on drawing until i find someone who makes an effort to come here and participate.

Users CAN post on other sites. I'm not going to penalize someone for owning another site or posting on other sites. Although I probably won't allow active advertising of other boards. If we are going to be doing contests and spending money on stuff for users, we're going to want to keep the group here tight.

Also, you are right about quality of posts. Spam and just "me too" comments will be disregarded. But you don't have to give rocket science answers or posts either. Just contributing posts that make the forum flow and not bog down the boards.

If the game is by download only, the winner will get straight up cash, or if there is a way on PSN by that time to transfer funds for the PSN store or something, it will be done that way. If it's by Blu-ray, I can send the game or again send cash to pay for the game (which will also include money for taxes or whatever. Basically, I promise to make it work no matter what.

As for picking the winner, I'm open to suggestions. I promise you that I don't have any friends or anyone who will get the game. One of you will win the game, and I will not do this unfairly.

Just a few clarifications that I think are a bit funny, but obvious.

1) I can't win. I will not be entered in.

2) Someone will win a full retail version of the game. I was telling people that we were offering a brand new copy of LBP, and someone said..

"No Thanks! I don't want some copy of the game. I want the real thing."



It's the "real" full retail version of the game guys and gals.

As for picking the winner, I'm open to suggestions. I promise you that I don't have any friends or anyone who will get the game. One of you will win the game, and I will not do this unfairly.

hmm.. Well I'm thinking you assign everybody their 'ballots' - for every 5 non-spam posts they get a ballot. Give each ballot a number, e.g. user X posted 300 times, about 25 of these were spam, so they get (275 / 5 = 55) 55 ballots, therefor they can have the number 1 to 55. The next users amount of ballots will be 56 to the amount of ballots they have, and so on.

Then you can just use a random number generator.. Off of the internet, or one from a regular calculator.

People may complain that having numbers 1 to 55 in a ballot that may contain 500 numbers is unfair as they wanted a wider spread, like 1, 7, 55, 123, 422 etc.. But with a random number generator it really doesn't matter.

I would. Also, he could wire you money through paypal and you could buy it that way if your insecure with handing out your address, but you just as willingly hand out your personal information when you join some websites or other competitions, online or not. This is just like that, a professional competition where you are probably required to give your address if you win.
