LBP3 officially announced for both ps4 and ps3!

Archive: 2343 posts

Please say there isn't. I already preordered this game 4 times just to get all the costumes, because I don't want to miss any preorder exclusives. I just hope the Mexico pack is available for purchase.

That's just insanity, sir.

Just two months out, shouldn't we be getting UE details?

Please say there is a UE...

Yea I have the game pre-ordered online for $20 off retail price thanks to the Best Buy E3 sale, but I'll likely switch immediately to a collectors edition if it comes with all the dlc. This is really the announcement I'm really hoping for/looking forward to!

I made that mistake with Assassin's Creed 3. Now granted I really appreciated not having to wait to play all the exclusive single player missions along my original playthrough. BUT, something like $360 later, I can't say it was worth it, especially when all the pre-order dlc was then released as a $5 dollar bundle not so long after launch, and was actually free for me since I had bought the season pass anyway. So yea, I learned my lesson and temping as it may be for any game in the future, I am never doing that again. I guarantee these costumes will be made available for purchase some time after launch, wasn't that the case with LBP2?

It wasn't the case for Vita. People who preordered got an exclusive color scheme for the particular pack (gold and green whereas buying the pack gets you silver and red).

For fun, I'm gonna name this october "the 31 days till the month of LBP3" and november "the eighteen day wait for true creation... in LBP3" for myself. Anyone else doing something similar, good luck for your wait. Also, It seems like Sumo Digital's sleeves are a little chunked with secret information that seems fit for exitement. I can't wait to see somthing beautiful pop out in complete suprise of everyone2014-09-13 07:31:00

At last! Yep, that broadcast logic got me excited too.

And all these juicy 'effects'. These are the ones that caught my particular eye:

... and shaped decorations:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bxb_gnbIYAEqnri.jpg:large

... and top down fun with Sackboy!

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bxb5RvPIYAALklc.jpg:large

How about fully animated Sackboy?

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bxb5FzwIgAAMwbf.jpg:large

Decoration mounts are now in the game, in a variety of shapes and animation types, stretch rotate etc!

This game has got everything people asked for.

Actually creators will have to make it themselves. It was explained that it was a combo of the new sack animations logic (in this case the swim animation) and non-physical material... However it's a very easy combo to make on LBP3 I hear.

BTW I also hear and saw on one of the jam posts there is a physics chip that does stuff anything related to well... physics! like how heavy a object is I think... *mew Also I'm fairly sure it allows you to make objects physical or non-physical too. Which I'm sure you will be happy to hear.

I'm actually more excited about the decorations and effects! Have you watched the video of isometric snowman level? I hope we can use sackboy in that view.

Oh yeah... Easy top-down is a real thing now just like you are thinking. They even have some objects made in the game just for top-down creators! For starters the new sack rotation logic shown-off from what I hear & saw allows you to make a sack go into top down mode among other options. and combo that with the better less limited LBP3 cams and then boom! Full 3D-roam levels! made even better because of all the new playable layers. I just knew this had to happen and it is! And people who complain that LBP3 has no real 3D really have no right to complain now... I mean they still will.... but err... well you know what I mean. xD *mew

Yeah, 16 layers with with an isometric camera will open up the game to thousands of new ideas, and by the sounds off it you won't have to be a technical wizard to achieve it. Those animation tweaks are going to lead to some amazing short films too! I caught a glimpse of how the animations work (I think) and you lay them out on a sequencer.

I hope news won't be a problem from the Jam war, few survivors came through.

I wanted more realistic stickers: (I've probably got them too)
I wanted more effects: I got them
I wanted decoration shapes to create unique constructions: I got them

I'm happy now

It's obviously a big plus that some of the devs actually were fans before working on LBP3. I'm curious about these two new features:

Oh man there are so many of these things I would individually comment on, but my head may explode! I will say that the Banana Nunchucks were awesome and that the gorilla costume is so ****ed cute... Shame he had to come to such an explosive demise lol.

Also thanks Gribble for posting the other images from that twitter feed, I had spent all day at Montreal Comic Con so I was way too pooped to post them all!

Speaking of which, I got to play the Toggle and Oddsock levels since Sony had a booth there. Must have spent at least a half hour there (lost track of time, was having too much fun). I took some footage of their range of emotions, which are just as freakin adorable as Sackboy's. Since there are far more interesting things coming out of the Game Jam, I'll post them later when there will be another lull (I have to edit them together anyway).

I wasn't posting the gorilla vine because 'it looked cute', I was posting it because of how it explodes. I'm certain there will be many more other new effects you can now add to the characters like that. Looks like we're no longer stuck with the traditional deaths but can make our own. I'm sure there will be a 'faint' animation that can easily pass as a death animation, or a drunken stagger that can pass as a 'being shot' animations.

So... Many... Fruits and veggies!!

I'm loving what I see so far from this game, especially the localized water. Ever since LBP1 I never liked how the water took up the entire level and how it stretched outwards, fading into the background. Just didn't go with the layer-oriented gameplay very well.

I think you guys will be pleased to know that we can in fact swim IN and OUT of the water now, not just left and right. By in and out, I mean Sackboy 3D swimming into the background or foreground. Pretty cool!

If it was a miniature, I'd recommend a basecoat followed by an inking and several layers of drybrushing, but I don't know how to work pieces of that scale.

As a general rule, you color the whole thing a darker shade and then add lighter shades to the raised potions, followed by picking out details.

For example, you paint the whole think dark brown. Then you get a lighter brown, and paint the "surface", not getting any paint into the crevices. Then take an even lighter shade, get a big crappy , stiff brush and once you load the paint, wipe most of the paint out on a paper towel. Then lightly dust the piece with very little pressure so only the most raised portions get the paint. Repeat with other colors on the tongue, etc.

Also, if you ever try something like this, find a test piece to practice on first.

I'm a little confused, what fan-art contest are you talking about? Is it on LBPC? I don't really keep up with that stuff but it'd be fun to give it a shot. Would you mind linking it to me?

Probably not. The only way is for the creator to take the level and do it manually. At least my guess.

That's what I'm wondering. It's been so long since LBP2 CE that I forgot when it was announced...

Hopefully there is one still, I've seen Sumo's twitter hint at it a couple times.

Hopefully there is one still, I've seen Sumo's twitter hint at it a couple times.
Could you tell me Sumo's Twitter handle?

The tweet is kinda old, but they replied asking a fan what they'd like seeing in the Collector's Edition, or something along those lines.

Here's their account:

My thanks.

I've needed that on my twitter for a while.

No problem.

I found this by digging through my old posts.. But I'm really not sure if their reply is literal or figurative. Since all of the figurines were bought in that picture, surely they wouldn't be suggesting he makes his own, right? So my little theory was that they'll include toys in the CE of LBP3. Take it as you will.

Haha, Flying Gooma does look rather death-starey doesn't he? He just wants to be in a Playstation game for once

I'm a little confused, what fan-art contest are you talking about? Is it on LBPC? I don't really keep up with that stuff but it'd be fun to give it a shot. Would you mind linking it to me?

Thanks again guys!

I know, I use to watch this show before I even knew about LittleBigPlanet when I was young. I know It didn't consern the game though, It was made long ago (or at least before 2006 or 2008 when LBP was thought of at the time I guess) and features characters and things too different from it. I loved this show so much and I still do.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. It's the same old Oddsock level, but I find the commentary to be entertaining.

I also like how it's played by someone who's decent at platformers...

Sackboy riding on Oddsock better still be an option though!

I want that demo...

The guys in that video are clearly NOT up to date with the current LBP2, they seem to think that wall jump is new and exclusive to Oddsock and that you can't make something just like Oddsock in the main game. Anyway, whatevs. Don't complain about a game's quality until you've actually played it for more than a few hours.

"Also there's tons of stu- cool stuff you can collect."

Yeah, he actually said that in the video.

Not sure how many canadians in here, but I thought I'd take a look to see if pre-order bonuses were announced on retailers sites, and looks like they are! So if you want to know which stores offer which bonuses up here in the north, head over here: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=91707-Canadian-Retailer-Pre-Order-Bonuses-for-LBP3-(Canada)

Sadly no exclusive canadian themed costumes, picture Oddsock as a moose, Swoop as a Loon, Toggle as a beaver or maybe a polar bear (and polar bear cub!) and Sackboy as a mounty

You'd be surprised the amazing deals you can get if you know about them. I have my copy pre-ordered from Best Buy since E3, when they had their now annual E3 pre-order sale. I got it for $47 (canadian) instead of the regular $70, which math tells me is a significant $23 savings on an un-released game

I've seen games available on pre order for ?40 (standard UK retail price is around ?48 ) - I bought Fifa and Far Cry for ?40. I know it's only ?8 difference, but I'm Northern and we love a good bargain.

Has it been confirmed if we can be Toggle, Swoop, or Oddsock in the Pod or while navigating in it? I haven't seen any proof supporting this, it's like the new characters are just accessories in Create Mode or something.

Hopefully they're full-blown characters like Sackboy. -_-

They are fully blown characters like Sackboy. How would you create a level for Oddsock by using Sackboy? You wouldn't be able to test the level without having to constantly switch between Oddsock and Sackboy. It follows that you will also be able to use them in the pod.

Reminds me of some game thing going on downtown in Houston, not far from where I live. Heard it on the radio (OF ALL THE **** PLACES!) and they mentioned you could try out Bloodborne, some racing game, and LBP3.

Sadly. I lack the transportation. But I was surprised to hear it on the radio and that you could try LBP3.

Hm he's ok. I wonder if his hat can be separated from the rest of his head... probably not.

Also besides his head, kinda boring how there's nothing special with his body... And on that note,
http://i.imgur.com/I8GJI4p.jpg

All the creator curator looking characters so far are the same... Not counting their heads their bodies just look like a normal outfit on a normal sack body... which is meh. I hope they all are not like that. personally I like the character designs on LBPvita best so far.

And how do you know the plush edition will have plushies of all new characters? (Unless the pics I'm not seeing show them)

Edit: Nevermind, they popped up finally. Aw... I love Newton's cardboard feet!! His character design is growing on me since the reveal trailer, has Negativitron vibes.

However my second question still stands.

I have higher hopes for LBP3 than Drive Club. What a fiasco. 2 delays and then the PS+ version gets delayed on the day of release. There is a lack of experience that is very evident at that studio. On the other hand LBP is a mature franchise and LBP3 is being developed by experienced devs. So I have more confidence they will be on the ball. I'd be real sad too to have trouble connecting with folks on day one! Especially that I have all but decided to focus on LBP3 and wait a bit to play AC Unity (which I am highly anticipating, though tired of Ubi's shenanigans).

Still, it might be a good idea to hold a public beta a few weeks before release to stress-test the servers.

With this being Sony's LAST exclusive for the year and over a month away from release, they'd better be prepared. Maybe since this game is built off the LBP2 PS3 engine (we all know it is, guys) it'll run more lightweight and be more manageable since Sony has experience with it. Driveclub seemed like too big of a mouthful because it was 100% brand new, making it harder to predict anything.2014-10-09 19:42:00

Thought I'd share this fun quick glimpse at LBP3 running on an Xperia Z3v through Remote Play with the Dualshock 4 attached. You can also see the game playing simultaneously on the TV in the background. Can't wait to do this while in Create Mode on either the Vita or the Z3 Tablet (if I can get my hands on one). Now when I have a brilliant idea but I'm already cozy in bed, I'll just turn on remote play and create away! (Who needs sleep anyway right?)

Skip to 0:46 to see the clip.

What is the point of remote play?

Depends. Some people use it to game in bed, or on their couch in a different room then their PS4 (Gus from Rooster Teeth does this a lot apparently ). For me the appeal is as I said above, to be able to create in LBP at a moment's thought, no matter where I am in the house. Heck, depending on how well it works I might even prefer it to sitting in front of my monitor or TV. I've found myself instinctually reaching for my Vita for a quick session of LBP2 recently just before going to sleep, then I have that moment where I remember that I can't remote play from the PS3

Oh and an extra bonus if you're remote playing on a Vita, it can be your extra controller if you're playing a 2+ player game.

Well, you can play PS4 games in your bedroom, in your living room even if your TV is being used by someone else, in a friends house (if they have internet) or even on the other side of the world. No need to pack that PS4, just take a Vita or simply use a Sony phone.

Have you ever tried that? Genuinely curious... I tried it at a friend's house, twice. There was a technical problem the first time. Second time, had it working... Both he and I had strong fast connections, but the feed on my Vita was so badly artifacted that it was literally unplayable. This was a few months ago, if Sony works some technical wizardry and makes this work better, I'd be freaking ecstatic to bring LBP with me to friends' houses and have them test out my creations, maybe implement some of their suggestions on the spot!

Heads up:

LBP3 is delayed in Europe by 1 week:

We’re currently working our socks off with Sackboy and friends to get the game to you as soon as possible but it’s recently come to our attention that we’re going to have to move the release of LittleBigPlanet 3 in Europe by one week to give Sackboy the best opportunity to shine.

This was a very difficult decision to make but since LittleBigPlanet is such a globally appealing game, it seemed only right to give more people the chance to get to know Sackboy and his new friends.

Sorry for any bubbles that may have just been burst but we thought it best to give you the heads-up now and to assure you that we’re still working to bring you all LittleBigPlanet 3 in Europe by 26th November. This doesn’t affect the release date in America.

@KAPBAM: I haven't personally because I no longer have a Vita but many people over at Neogaf have and they say it worked well.

So a game developed in the UK is being released late in Europe?

Kind of annoying I guess. We'll all have to sit here twiddling our thumbs in anticipation when the rest of the world get to talk about how great the game is.

The joys of globalization.

I think they want to avoid server's overloading during the first days. I don't believe in the official reason of the delay. I think Driveclub experience has cooled them a bit.

I hope that americans will be solidary, and don't publish levels during the first week. (But perhaps I dreaming too much.)

Most people will be working their way through the story to begin with, and learning the new tools. If there are any levels released in the first week, I can see the majority of them being pretty crap.

Were any decent levels released in the first week for LBP2?

GTA V
Far Cry 4
Dragon Age Inquisition
WWE 2K15

If you don't have a national crazy sales day to meet you're going to want to put a little bit of distance between that level of competition and your game.

These are just the games on the same platform. There are so many games coming out on consoles, hand-helds and PC in the same week/month, that I'm not so surprised with a delay.
I honestly think that a delay til 2015 would give LBP3 a better launch.

I agree that any delay can make a game more polished, but this is literally Sony's only game left... They can't afford it.

Also didn't the devs say this game was in development for 3+ years? I think that's more than enough to make a game, especially one based off an old PS3 engine from 2008 granted a lot of changes were made.

I'm just putting my trust in them that LBP3 isn't HUB reskinned (remember that drama?), and that this wasn't a rushed game. It does worry me how there's not much hype surrounding it other than the hardcore fan base, but hopefully they'll show a compelling Story/gameplay trailer soon. That's what'll convince a lot of new gamers to get it: the tighter, non-floaty, and MUCH more varied gameplay.

Mario 3D World got torn apart during its first reveal and was called generic, then they released an exciting unexpected trailer. LBP3 still needs that trailer (or commercial) to be honest.

Remember how Vita was originally going to be released in the UK first? Yeah, me neither after the GameStop fiasco. For a franchise that originated in the UK, without starting any kind of international debate, it's pretty sad that we have to wait the longest.

I think LBP3 hits Japan in December.

Isn't LBP an extremely niche series in Japan though? If I recall, none of the 5 released games have done well over there. Surprising since they can't get enough of Mario and Sonic which are similar genres...

Maybe it's the British humor not translating well into Japanese. As an American myself, I even found it hard to catch onto some of the humor in the series. Just a thought.

You know that Sonic is extremely unpopular in japan right? Sonic may be a japan product but it mostly only sells good in the US, Even the company knows this and why they don't bother trying to market it to japan much anymore. *mew

Also IMO LBP isn't cute enough for a lot of Japanese folk at least when compared to a lot of other games they like over there. Even I myself don't really find sack people super cute tbh.

My bad, I just assumed since Sega is Japanese. Leave it to the guy with the Tales avatar to correct me I do agree with the cuteness factor, sackpeople do have a bit of a realistic look to them... However you'd think the ability to make your own JRPGs and whatnot in the level editor would be convincing enough.

Kinda funny if you google Karting and Vita's Japanese covers, they made Sackboy look WAY more bubbly than he usually does. At least we can all agree that Oddsock is Japanese cute-worthy, I hope.

got this quote from steve of the PlayStation blog

"We gave you awesome folks somewhat exclusive access to to LittleBigPlanet 3 Private Beta and will be looking to expand on that in the coming weeks to give even more of you folks some hands-on time with the new tools before launch.

You will also be able to bring all your previous creations to LittleBigPlanet 3, along with a whole host of other goodies that we will be divulging soon that will really help show that you're a long-time LittleBigPlanet fan! More news on that soon!

Not forgetting that we're also releasing a PlayStation 3 version because the very last thing we wanted to do was leave anybody behind because they don't own a PlayStation 4 just yet!

You're all amazing and we definitely want you all there with us"

seems to me that the second paragraph is about the ps4 version as he mentions the ps3 version in the next paragraph

I know this sounds dumb, but has it been confirmed if our old DLC purchases transfer? I already know that the DLC costumes themselves are compatible, but hopefully we don't have to pay an upgrade fee or re-buy anything.

Another thing I'm curious about is if they'll include past DLC on the disc, or simply have a Day 1 patch to add it all in. It'd be nice to have all the costumes on disc waiting to be activated.

Sumo weren't kidding when they said they tightened up Sackboy's controls!! I've been playing since 2009 and could tell an immediate difference with how responsive he is. I think you guys (whoever didn't make it into the beta) will really like the feel of it.

Finally gamers can stop complaining about LBP's floaty physics. :kz:

Update:

I haven't seen this posted anywhere... Looks like they changed the American version of the cover art too.

Found this picture on Amazon. I was under the impression that only Sackboy can use power-ups and such, but you can clearly see Toggle has the ability to select them as well!

As to whether Swoop can use Boost Boots or if Oddsock can use the Pumpinator is unknown though. Their body structure is quite different, while Toggle and Sackboy share the same basic human-like shape. I'm interested to learn more about this.

...?
Being able to take powerups out of your popit in createmode while playing as whatever sack character type has nothing to do with the fact if the other types of sack characters can use them in gameplay or not. Playing as whatever sack character type doesn't change the tools and options of your popit in createmode in any shape or form.

That's my bad. I was under the impression Toggle was selecting which power-up he wants to equip, but obviously that menu is circular and not in the actual Popit.

Ehh I guess it's fine if they can't use any. They technically have super powers anyways, while Sackboy just jumps.

I'm loving how up-to-date you are with all the videos! And that's actually a clever trailer... showing that PS4 has something other than the predominant FPS genre.

Also, the clapping has been around for awhile. I forgot which trailer it was in but big Toggle was clapping somewhere in it.

I love whole CG-animated look in this trailer, but I have to ask... Why are they still refusing to show any of the Story Mode?! While the narrator guy was talking about Bunkum the trailer showed nothing but replays from the E3 trailer.

I'm just confused why there's barely any new footage.

It will be. We have a HUB now with lots of hidden secrets and places only available when you've got another character or ability. There'll be a sense of exploration that wasn't there before. This is the 'creators' edition don't forget! Fully voiced cutscenes too.

from LBP3 dev over at Gaf:

The story campaign has hub worlds and lots of challenge rooms (some multiplayer, but nothing that takes up a significant majority), but I do feel those who run through as a single-player will have a wealth of content to mess with. On top of the usual fun with the level acing and collecting all the prize bubbles, we've added a bit of non-linearity to the game with the additions of quests and the sack pocket which allows you to take power ups you've collected later on in the game and bring them to earlier levels to find secrets and whatnot. On top of that, we have all the levels with the new characters as well, on top of the Popit academy that are lessons in teaching you how to use certain fundamental create tools and new ones as well in puzzle platformer levels.

The story mode looks like a lot of fun, with cool new and versatile themes. That top down section looks really good and polished.

You can see a lot of little details that I guess is made with the decoration mount to make the impression of 3D movement and of objects turning, spinning or falling in any direction.

I've just watched over an hour of gameplay and I can safely say that this is the best LBP game to date. If you think the beta was representative of the finished game, think again. Absolutely stunning.

Oh, and the Toggle level we all got to play in the beta is a fraction of the actual level (which I guessed ... because I'm a genius ...)

Where'd you watch that long of gameplay? Are early copies already out?

I've seen a few lucky people on my friends list, not including developers, playing the full game. So yeah... be aware of spoilers on the internet and all that... unless you're looking for them.

Yup, there are people who've gotten there hands on lbp3 early. There's no gameplay, but here's a video about an early LBP3 unboxing:

I've just watched a second one. I just can't help my self.

One thing I notice ... speech came up and there was no magic mouth sound ... OH YES! I can't wait to get my clammy, wrinkled hands on this beauty.

By the way, they're already accessing all the levels online.

edit: A guys playing that top down level in the story mode at the moment. THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!

So the Day One Edition / Plush Edition don't get their own custom artwork? Or is that just a standard copy?

What do you mean magic mouth sound? That 'PSHHHHH' noise that pops up every time you read text?

In every video stream and video I've seen so far, nobody seems to have found the screen sizer with the four hands pointing to each corner. I told something on Twitch about this and he looked through the settings but it didn't seem to be there. Can anyone verify that it was there in the beta because I could have sworn I adjusted the screen when I played in the beta.2014-11-16 11:26:00

LBP3 is fantastic, and it has the potential to be GOTY. However I think it would be better if LBP3 isn't GOTY for 1 BIG reason. People(who like dark and gory games) will completely lash out all their hatred on LBP3. I saw what happened to Zelda: A Link Between Worlds when Gamespot made it GOTY. People were complaining that the Last of Us or GTA 5 should've been picked, and they called Zelda a kids game. I think LBP3 is fantastic, but being GOTY might cause it to get even more hate.

EDIT: Also, I found another video!

Here's how you can make a short promo video for your level using Shareactory. NO SPOILERS. The dragon looks rather good:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HNnwBOEUQY.

I'm starting to get a little bit concerned about that border on other videos. I've not seen ONE live stream on the PS4 version without that border and even when I asked someone to check the setting to adjust it, he couldn't find it.

edit: I'm currently talking to a dev over at Gaf and he's telling me you have to adjust the screen size via your PS4. I'm really not happy about this AT ALL. That means ALL of my games will be resized too and I do not want to mess about every time I switch between another game and LBP3. I'm now considering holding off on my purchase until a possible future update because this was not an issue with any of the other games and all you had to do is use the resize available in the game. BAD MOVE Sumo.

Just when everything was going so smoothly, Sumo give Gaff and the media something to complain about. I really don't believe this. He did mention that it's an issue that could be addressed in the future. Why the heck did this go overlooked after 3 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT.

I do remember seeing the scree resize option in the Beta... however that was for PS3 not PS4.

I'm assuming that not all DLC is available on Day 1? I remember a dev saying they haven't ported all the costumes, and that they'l'l be patched in 'sometime' after launch. This situation is reminding me of LBP Karting lol.

I never had borders when I played the beta on the PS4 so I'm hoping I see someone without a border. I haven't seen a single video/stream yet without those borders, which is worrying me.

Multiplayer between platforms is not in the game
Why, just why. I... don't know what to say. I hope they can change this in an update eventually, because this is going to make the game not as fun anymore. I guess I'll have to buy a PS4 eventually.

At least I'll have the game at all.

T-minus one day+. I'll be playing 28 hours from now.

My local Gamestop called me and told me about a prerelease thing happening tonight.

Yeah...I'll just wait till tomorrow. But I'd watch for legal streams starting at about Midnight+ on the East Coast, if you are interested in such things.

I'm kinda surprised a load of youtube vids haven't cropped up over the last 12 hours.

They just are. In this case everyone is trying to hit their US launch before black friday but the other regions have a little more space to play with to avoide the competition as much as possible.

Be thankful you're not dealing with 90's release scheduling.

Downloading now the PS3 US version, german (EU) PS4 is preordered for 26th...
Don't need the DLC of PS3 Version, just need it to play online and check compatiblity of levels later...
With digital versions, release date doesnt make sence, when you just login to the other store and get your game earlier...

That doesn't really show everything that was added. So Many of the tools have quite a few more functions. They added something like 40 new tools.

I already see stuff in there that wasn't in the beta.

No, just that vid, and I only skimmed about ten seconds of it. But I saw two or three things in the tools/logic area that wasn't in the beta.

EDIT: One appears to be the blaster handle. They changed the graphic.

Also, by the looks of it, this game looks much harder then LBP2, less infinite checkpoints and more limited, 6 retry ones. Which is great, LBP2's story mode was a little too easy.

EDIT: The story and atmosphere in the first real level, it's really good. (not the intro world though with Newton)

The IGN review is live and gave LBP3 a 6.8. How the heck did she come up with such a low score? She was praising the game the whole time, for crying out loud... This irritates me.

I'm not going to bring up the "paid reviews" argument, but 6.8 is a low score for such a big game. Plus, it's a game that gets better the more you play it, like a grape wine because of how you need to learn more ways to create levels and you can play levels from other people.

Did they give it a higher or lower score then LBP2?

Also, AC: Unity got a higher score and it contained so much more bugs and glitches. What the hell?

It definitely got a lower score than LBP2, I'm pretty sure LBP2 got a 9 or something.

Just judging from the review format it seems like she played through the story mode real quick, messed around a few minutes in create mode, and sat down to write up the review. It has barely any depth to it, focusing on bugs/glitches rather than on gameplay/replayability which is what LBP succeeds in.

It wouldn't make me so upset if gamers didn't rely on IGN review to determine whether or not they should buy a game. I want LBP3 to get the sales it deserves...

I'm going full blown nuclear on this.

"With the 6 million levels on the disk"

- IGN 2014

Who do these people think they are? This is not a review, this is someone who wanted to be a critic and failed.

EDIT: Enraged, created a thread about the review.

"With 6 million levels on the disk"

- IGN 2014

That is a quote everyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eluo5tsV4cM

They gave the game a 6.8 because of a few glitches and yet they gave Advanced Warfare and AC : Unity a better score and they contained so much glitches. They gave this a much lower score then LBP1 and 2 when this game obviously looks like a major improvement.

If you would like to rage about it with me, go ahead.

All advertising outlets, not news sources. Go to Youtube for actual reviews from players, not from paid cheers and jeers columnists.

I think the only one I can trust is Kotaku, but mostly because they don't limit game reviews into numbers, AND EVEN THEN, some of their reviews are terrible but are honestly a lot more polished.

The dislikes are outnumbering the likes, it's a good thing.

Because it was. Deducting 3.2 points for having bugs and 'limited co-op' (whatever that means) is unfair. She reminds me of those college professors who take off points just because they're in the mood for it.

All the big reviewers have always taken the bribes. Perhaps not for every game, but it's nothing new. Especially since that article is from 2 years ago. I never trust IGN, although when they mention things about a game that ARE questionable, then I am curious.

IGN is that news place that sometimes mentions something worth looking into.

I mean LBP1 and 2 had a lot of glitches, but they were rated so much higher.

I guess I should stop raging, we still have the other "respectful" and "big" media outlets reviews to go. They are certainly "serious" "critics".
