I thought her voice was computer modified in some way... but GLaDOS is 100% just her voice?! Who knew?? It isn't her real voice! This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AZSQc23WfE) is the original video that was then edited in the same way used in the Portal games to manipulate the voice to sound like GLaDOS. (Done very well too!) From the author of the vid: "To all the people asking, I added the GLaDOS effect. She can't do that with her voice (she just speaks the lines very mechanically). It wasn't in the mic system. I did it using a program called Melodyne then only switched out the bits where she's speaking so everything else sounds normal. Basically you snap the notes to their pitches, fully suppress the pitch modulation, then raise the formant a few semitones until it sounds right (about three and a half semitones usually works. If you bump it higher you can get it sounding like the turrets.). After that you can adjust individual syllables to get it sounding exactly right. I'm totally confused, I come across a video on Facebook of G.I. Joe trailer voicing over My Little Pony video and it gets moved to a pony thread!? O_o I had no idea there was a pony thread. I also know nothing about My Little Pony or G.I. Joe, just thought it was a cute funny video. Am I missing something here? According to topic of this thread it is for people with interest in My Little Pony, or brony, or whatever that is. So if I say posted a music video in a media thread for music vids is it going to be moved here just because it has My Little Ponies in the video. I don't get it. O_o

SO...I was at church today, and the pastor had a sermon against pride, and about who's in charge. The sermon was entitled "Who is in Charge of the Chicken?", referencing to a story about an employee who was serving food, but refused to give out more than one piece of chicken, even if it was the hungry or the famous requesting it. It had this summary: It's funny how quickly our own importance can go to our heads. This is an issue we all struggle with at some point. It may be on the job when someone treads on our territory, or it could be in the home when our authority is challenged. Here in the closing verses of John 3 we discover how out view of ourselves and our view of Christ helps resolve the dispute when we find our authority threatened. In the sermon, the title of it, a relevant image, and bullet points of importance are projected onto a board behind the stage. There's nothing to explain. So many people seem to think there's some hidden meaning or joke in there - There's not. People like the show because it's cute, it's well animated and the humour is geared towards various ages. In fact, lots of kids shows and movies have humour that isn't strictly childish so parents aren't bored out of their minds. It's a little unusual when you first hear it, but then again, I'm 19 and I'm playing a game where a stitched doll runs through environments made out of cardboard and polystyrene fighting an evil vacuum cleaner. I've seen a few different threads now over the past few years made by people asking what the point is. There's no top secret pony conspiracy going on. But people keep perpetuating the idea that there is.

There are many times in which the plot can get girly and hokey, like when they start singing for example, but other than the girly appearance, it's a decent plot with a pretty good and humorous script. I was surprised to see the use of 3D animation for the timber-wolves in episode 9. MLP didn't strike me as the sort of show to use such an effect. It was nonetheless effective, and a good episode. I still have yet to watch episode 10.

It's like Netflix. I don't want to have to pay per title unless I already know I want it forever. It would be cool if things like this could be 'rented' for one watch for free, in embedded form, on that site. Easily done with ip address tracking and all that. I actually wish people that release digital content would allow that kind of thing more, because that would end all need to pirate things that I can get behind. I'm not a pirate, but there are those that feel slightly stronger than I do and turn to piracy. If I see something for free and like it, I buy it, end of story. And I'm not the only one. I'm done rambling about why not all pirates are "lazy farts".
