I know Littlebigplanet is a really creative community who likes to play video games, lol, so i figured some of you play minecraft and id ask this question here
I really want to get the minecraft beta, if your not familiar with the game look it up, it's awesome. Problem is I don't have the best computer so I don't want to buy the game and then get a new pc or have that one break and lose it.or just buy it then it doesn't even work on my computer. But I did notice there is a "play in browser" option for the beta (not classic) does this mean it saves the
purchase to your account? Would I be able to download again on a different computer if something happens to mine or minecraft won't work on mine? Someone please let me know Ive been wanting to buy the game but don't want to risk it. so basically i just want to know if i will be able to download it again for free on a different or new computer

It may be safe, as Notch implemented white listing for servers, but as you don't have one set up yet, could you PM me the new IP?

That guy has a really nice generated world. But not as nice as my jungle ravine.


CRAZY EDIT: Generated a new world on a separate computer than normal, and I got a bland looking world, then I explored for about 2 minutes, and...sniff, it's so beautiful...a huge floating island in the middle of another jungle ravine complete with a large dirt bridge to get on the island, and the bridge is only accessible by tree-top.The island is quite large, would post a pic, but I'm on a Mac computer right now, so could someone tell me how to take pictures with this? Also, can Mac Minecraft level files transfer to PC?

Oh wow!! There's a bunch of Minecrafters here it seems!!
I just discovered (and bought) this game 2 weeks ago and I simply can't stop playing! So it seems we have a LBPC server or something? Do inform me please

Oh and here's some seeds for your fun:
(some are classics now but whatever, if you didn't tried them yet, you should!)

- gargamel (spawn inside a grotto and huge cliffs outside)
- torches (huuuuuuge wall, like you would be walking beside china wall or something)
- Glacier (huge cliffs and mountains, very epic)
- 404 (break some gravel near spawn = fall at the bottom of the earth in a huge cave)
- debug (another nice looking world, lots of biome near)
- -11 (yet another nice world)
- 0110101 (I don't remember - I know I noted it down because it was awesome lol)
- Minecraft (spawn in snow biome)

Tried that, spawned in a MASSIVE snow biome - I know the spawns are different for every user, but this is ridiculous.. I've been walking for at least 10 minutes now and there's no sign of this snow stopping... It's made for some pretty sweet screens though c:

Clue about spawn- I am logically a spider...

EDIT2: Unfortunately, I encountered an evil lava pool aspiring to create a great big destructive bushfire! So I took it upon myself to save the forest! But water sucks at defeating fire in mincraft so i had to use explosive arrows. Are you on Mac or PC?

On PC there's the Print Scrn SysRq button which will take a picture of the whole screen, and from there you can crop out the image, or, with the right button combo's (Alt or Shift), you can take pictures of only the window and stuff.
Tap that button only once and you can paste it into a program like MS Paint.

On Mac, just search with the Mac search function "How to take screen picture" or something like that and it will lead to you something called the snippet tool...or something like that. That will take pictures for you.		2011-03-14 02:06:00

I doubt the person Im "leeching" off would care very much Im creating new games on his account, I see no problems able to occur except maybe if you cant login to an account if someones already logged in. What kind of stupid comment is that? Why would I pay $20 for a game I might be able to get for free without looking first? And put effort into finding $20, what do mean by that? Im not going to go out in the street and put effort into finding $20, Im either going to earn it or get it from a place where I know it already is. Its first grade common sense, why pay for something you might not have to pay for?

Congratulation in basically saying that stealing is ok if you don't have the money to pay. I would promote the idea that stealing a game is ok a game forum or anywhere else either anyways. What I learn early in life (and before first grade) is that any form of stealing is not ok.
When someone does something for you, you say tks. If Notch is asking for 20$ it's because it's the value of his creation. You can agree and play the game or refuse and not play. Minecraft is not freeware. People trying to earn their life are behind it like anything else that you actually buy. Do you steal at the store?

I doubt the person Im "leeching" off would care very much Im creating new games on his account, I see no problems able to occur except maybe if you cant login to an account if someones already logged in. Also, whatever Im doing to the developer, Im sure he'll still be able to feed his family without an extra 20 bucks...

When you play the game properly you will realise you should buy it but to start you off I'll give you some reasons:

It must give team mojang a big boost when they see that their sales are going along nicely just for this there are loads of benefits for the players like were more likely to get updates if they're motivated, information about said updates or just a generally more motivated team.

It's wrong to not pay for something which someone has worked on for years of their life even if they hadn't worked on it for years of their life it's still wrong not to. How would you like it if you just published you game and then only one person bought it and shared it to the world thus making you no profit?

Oh hai! For a little while I was bored with pretty much everything in my world and starting a new world alse seemed very lame. Now I have started a new world which I really like for some random reason (Maybe because I found slimes in there, slimes are awesome!)

Okay so basically this is what happened:

I was in the nether trying to gather enough glowstone to make a glowing roof to my greenhouse. I fell into lava and lost everything (diamond sword, pickaxe and shovel and also a lot of glowstone dust...) So then I faced the fact that I just died, ran to my home (which is pretty far away from my spawn point) and somehow I got a skeleton to shoot other monsters and I had a fight ready. I quickly went into my house to sleep through the night. A skeleton woke me up. I was inside my house and there should be no way to get in there, a skeleton can't even spawn there because of the brightness. Well, that wasn't all, I'm pretty sure there was a skeleton outside the house that hit a creeper and that creeper decided to be mad and... a nice hole.

Well, I got that hole fixed, improved my pyramid and connected a new mineshaft to my old one. Maybe I'll go back to the nether to look for glowstone... although it isn't really too inviting after what happened. So how was your minecraft day? 		2011-03-16 14:46:00

I came out of my casssssssstle yesterday, and now there's a big hole in it. And when I was repairing it another creeper snuck up behind and blew a hole in the ground big enough to show my basement. Then when I was fixing THAT, another creeper tryed to sneak up behind me but I got away, and then changed to peaceful mode so I could work without terror. 2011-03-16 15:56:00

Think wolves will come with new drops? They could drop wolf pelts which are used to produce clothing in turn with wool or something which gives me an idea. I'm not sure where they would appear but it could lead up to something like to obtain a certain item which only appears in a certain place you have to have a special item in this case you would have to have warm clothing to go into the ice cave else you slowly die. The recipe would be the same as regular armor except you would have to place the wolf pelts and wool in alternate places so for the breast plate/jacket you would have (top to bottom left to right P=wolf pelt W=Wool B=Blank) 1st row P,B,W 2nd row P,W,P 3rd row W,P,W. GAH i gotta empty my mind with some thoughts now

sometimes i just feel like there should be a little more... something to fight for... being creative in minecraft survival is pretty much impossible as you have to turn the entire world upside down to gather the materials, and to just "survive" as long as possible isn't very hard anymore, we can just respawn and collect our stuff again, if they are dropped in lava we can just turn the world upside down again and Make new stuff. Also if we wanted to create something there's always a minecraft classic.
Getting secret awards gives us something to actually fight for, "Survive 50 creeper attacks in one night!" "survive 100 nights without dying in a row" it fulfills the idea of a "game".
but do a "game" really need to have goal? Maybe minecraft just isnt for me.

... there is still much of things to fix in minecraft after all it just left the alpha version, and soon enough markus said he would try make a adventure mode with story and all.
the "purpose" of minecraft today is pretty much -Build a fancy house and craft every item you possibly can. or -Gather millions of diamonds.
but once you have done that...? sure it's partly true that "it's not the goal that matters- but the adventure towards it" but after all building stuff is not much of a adventure.


in my own opinion a game needs a goal... a game that's made for creating without a goal is rather a creative artistic-sorth-of-program.

I was looking at the minecraft forums and I saw a thread about people playing "dwarf mode" which basically means living underground and never going to the surface. Well, guess what I've been doing during the last week? Basically just that, except for the fact that I do visit the surface because I'm a sucker who finds it boring to live underground 24/7... I could live underground forever, I do have a tree farm, a room with grass (animals = bacon and stuff) and a pool (which provides me with unlimited fish, lol) Also, I will build a farm where I'll grow wheat. Oh right, I should also build a reed farm for sugar so that I can have cakes.
Oh yeah, one little tip for those who struggle to get eggs. Find chickens, spawn them in a room or something, whatever. Then, be in that room for a while.

I'm using Windows 7, but I'm sure it doesn't matter now.

On another note, I remember playing a really good adventure map based on a boat stranded on the ocean and you had to find a way to survive. It would have to be on its own map, and everything would be focused entirely on the city and the Area 51 type place though. Is that ok?

I've gotta say, I'm quite proud of my adventure map so far. One of the first 'quests' involves you going into an old tomb, first, its pillar platforming, then a little puzzle that gets you water, which you use in a system to open a door, and then you use that bucket to open the next door. It all looks really pretty, it's quite fun, and it worked way better than I was expecting. Once I've finished this first quest, I'll be sure to grab a save file and let you guys beta test it Also, I'll get some pictures up later. (It's a one way tomb, so I have to finish it before I can return to the start without breaking a ton of stuff.)2011-03-27 06:12:00

That's fine. And the server is working fine, I've been able to log in perfectly myself, the IP Address I have to give to you guys however, is either not correct or I just don't know what to give you guys.

No Idea what you mean but I'm just using the program MCAdmin, which is the server hosting program itself.

Port forwarding, though I THINK I got it. Just need someone to try logging in.

Ok, so Ive been trying to buy minecraft for a while now with a prepaid visa card from walmart. However, everytime I try to buy it, it says:

OKAY GUYS! ITS DOOOONE! (well, the first part and first quest that is...) So yeah!

First, go here: http://www.mediafire.com/?66me7c6xc08ic80

Next, make a folder in your .minecraft/saves folder. Name it whatever. (The name will be what you see it as in the world select screen.)

Now, put all the files in the zip file into that folder.

Now, in the .minecraft/saves/whatyounamedit folder, make a folder called:

region

In that folder, put the files that start with r.blahblah Like that. Now, if you hop onto minecraft and start that level you should spawn somewhat near a large house with a dock. If you aren't on that dock, go over to it, read the rules and backstory, and then gooooo!

Okay after both me and Clay played it I've realized there are many bugs, nothing too bad though. Now, at the end of the tomb (you'll realize its the end when you get there.) theres a switch that SHOULD open the door, but it doesn't. Now, theres another bug where the button you are given is infinite, just use a button against the final door to open it.

And ye, post your Lapiz Lazuli count if you want, it's kind of a pointless minigame

Yey, I got a fly mod working This'll make making my adventure map so much easier.

As for progression, I'm actually working on the final area (Which can only be accessed by using gold blocks to get over several walls, and you collect these gold blocks from

You hear word of Wayhart Point a lively seaside town renowned for it's quality seafood and fishermen. As a trader you decide to travel there and exchange rare goods with the locals. I've been able to focus on development a lot the last couple of weeks, and we?re hoping to get the new update out soon. It will include the wolves, the ability to change your spawn point, and a rather ambitious statistics tracking and achievement system. Once that update is out, we?ll spend some time figuring out exactly what to do with the modding, which should result in a nice modding API.

As I understand the update and what Notch said about it, it mainly contain 3 things:

- The wolf mob (rare and tameable. I doubt there's 2 versions. If you craft a collar and put it on the wolfe, it's tamed, stays with, help you fighting and doesn't unspawn.)

- Stats and Achievements

As I understand the update and what Notch said about it, it mainly contain 3 things:

- The wolf mob (rare and tameable. I doubt there's 2 versions. If you craft a collar and put it on the wolfe, it's tamed, stays with, help you fighting and doesn't unspawn.)

- Stats and Achievements

- Last part of bed update (will now create a new spawnpoint when you use the bed)

Oh wow, that bed thing could really help me with my adventure map :O Then I could add in obstacles that could actually kill you without fear of making the people have to walk miles back.

You can detonate TNT safely with obsidian. Also, he put TNT in the **** trees. It might have been Whale who did this.2011-03-29 21:34:00

if a tnt block touches water while it's detonated it won't blow up the environment, however any nearby player or npc will still be hurt. also i think it can still detonate another nearby tnt block aswell...

Ye, had something like this on my tree challenge thing, were once you get high enough you can open a door so you can skip back to that spot. But, in the challenge I'm thinking of, the place is really far away from spawn, so if there were passages to skip parts, you'd still have to go aaaaaalll the way back to main area of the challenge. Also, in my adventure, you need to collect golden blocks to get through a room, so I can't kill you in case you lose the blocks.

IF beds make new spawnpoints, then I'll definitely use them for checkpoints, and if they don't, I'll just make it so my challenges don't actually kill you.

As for your challenge, it was quite good, but I must say I got confused several times as I had no idea were I was supposed to go. In the end I just found some TNT and used that to blow a hole in the Elder hut, got the Z coordinate (the X I had already found), went to the location, entered the portal, and yeah. I wonder how beds will work in multiplayer, if they even do change the spawns in multiplayer. Would they make it your specific spawn? Or everyones?

I LOVE Minecraft! I've done tons of stuff in it, including a redstone counter, floating castle, rail station, pixel art, and even some fan art.

Anyways, I got so addicted to Minecraft that it pulled me away from LittleBigPlanet. I surprisingly barely even touched my copy of LittleBigPlanet 2.

And is there any way to get whitelisted for the server? :3 (if not you should have it so people have to apply to get on, then the application must be accepted.)

I'll probably finish the next quest "Frigid Grotto", add all the quest givers, add some houses to the village, then put it all on mediafire for a second beta test. Nice stuff Cog. Your map looks great, although that platforming section might annoy me..but eh. With that cave did you use an editor to change the blocks or did you do it manually?

Aside from Invedit to get unlimited supplies and fly mod to help me reach stuff, I haven't used any other mod. It's all my own sweat and blood

No, I didn't find the Y coordinate, but in the end I didn't even need it really, and I used the lever for the door to that vault place.
