| I know you guys will not really agree with this post but I'm not really a huge fan of the Spam Can to be perfectly honest with you. The only reason I post here is that it is the most active place, and is therefore the only place you can actually have a real conversation. You shouldn't leave if this gets removed, because other areas will start to become more active, and topics can be discussed in different places. I just think that'd be a little better considering we can't spam here anymore. I respect you don't mind it... But to be fair to everyone else just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should be closed. And it's not fair to say that it will just boost other areas. I know people like chatting here, it's pretty much our chat room. And if someone doesn't like it here, simple enough just don't come here. Don't punish the people that actually use / like it. I just <3 the spam can And also Don add me on PSN, I have killzone 2 | 2009-03-18 19:11:00 Author: Hamsalad Posts: 2551 |

And also Don add me on PSN, I have killzone 2 I don't recall saying I don't like it here, but it was much better when we were free to spam, now it's just a load of boredom. I talk here purely based on the fact that it's active, like I said. If I couldn't post here anymore, I'd leave this site for good, but that's only if this thread was still here. Personally, I'd rather spam was back here. I just think, as it seems we won't get it back, this thread isn't as good as it used to be. If you want me to leave the thread because of that, then fine. | 2009-03-18 19:16:00 Author: Bear Posts: 2079 |
| I never told you to leave dude, it just seemed like you were saying you wish it would close because you don't like it. So I didn't think that was fair to people who may still still like it. But I never said you should leave nor do I want you to leave, your a cool cat; I was going to make a disclaimer saying it wasn't necesarily being directed at you I should've; I guess more so anyone who had a huge problem with it | 2009-03-18 19:22:00 Author: Hamsalad Posts: 2551 |

It's a comedy; Jim Carrey's first. It's a really good film, but not action packed as such ![]() Hmmm... Wanted? Matrix? Mr. & Mrs. Smith? (Not as actiony. Action-comedy, if you will) EDIT: Rock, see my post of an outline of levels in the LBPC level series topic. | 2009-03-18 20:52:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |

Action-comedy, if you will) Not truly a comedy... In fact, it's not really a comedy AT ALL! What, The Truman Show was the first movie jim Carrey made that ISN'T a comedy? | Rock, yes it is a comedy. While I have just found out I'm completely wrong that it was his first major film (Ace venture etc. were earlier. I thought they were later, my bad), it is a comedy. It's clearly more serious than any other Carrey film, what with philosophical connotations as to whether we live our own lives or if it is all planned out, and so on so forth, however it was comedic. The traffic chase bit, when he runs away, when he keeps almost finding out etc., all comedic, but with serious undertones. I could speak to you for hours about the serious side and the 1984-taken-to-a-different-level meaning behind the whole thing, but that would just be OTT. The point is, yes, I understood the film, but yes, it is also comedic. Oh yeah, and finally, I choose to focus on the comedy because I enjoy the funny side of life. I'd rather dwell on funny things instead of looking over my shoulder expecting there to be a camera. | 2009-03-18 21:19:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |

| P. Diddy is an idiot. In his commercial for his cologne, King, he says: "I think, therefore I am...king" He really needs to do his research. That statement meant that the only thing that anyone ever truly knows is that they exist, and everything else needs to be proven. | 2009-03-18 22:52:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |

A massive beanstalk bursts out of the usually flat ground, shooting Yarbone, Ham, and Vhalt into the forces of the stratosphere. People scream whilst throwing thousands of bananas at one another. Ghost emerges from the devoured ground, laughing and throwing apples at all who surround him. A dark mist fills the air, and when it disappears, all lay on the floor with apples in their maths. | go check out my yarrrbone rap! lol *story time* The lights went out.... And as the dust filled the room all the hero could see were the shadowy figures infront of the light gleaming in from outside. They were moving slowly towards him staggering, mumbling something about brains. The hero started shooting his machine gun widly at the crowd but they continued at him; he noticed he hit one of the shadowy figures in the head and it immediately dropped to the ground. As the hero back up agaisnt the wall he thought all was lost and there was no where else to go. All of the sudden a wild figure crashed though the already broken window and started throwing what appeared to be bananna figured objects at the zombies. A few moments after these banannas were thrown a violent explosion threw the hero on the ground. He then realized those banannas from that crazy pirate were bombs. It then clicked in his head who it was, just then he heard the pirate yell: "Hey hamsalad are you alright?" Hamsalad shouted back, "Ya Yarbone I'm alright. Thanks that was too close." The Haggered hero and the derranged pirate walked out of the dust filled building into the ambient evening. A zombie leaped from the banister and onto Yarbone's back; before Hamsalad could shoot it off a shadowy figure walked out of a dark alley and shot it off with a tommy gun. Hamsalad pointed his gun at him because he was still unsure if he was friend or foe. The figure stepped into the light, just then Hamsalad lowered his gun and sighed with relief; thinking "Thank God, it's just the Don." to be continued.... | 2009-03-19 19:35:00 Author: Hamsalad Posts: 2551 |

| Awesome zombiez! I have a story as well (a true one). It's short, though. So there's this new craze at my school (mainly just my class); last clap. If there is ever a round of applause, the last person to clap wins. So every wednesday, when we have a school assembly, the whole of the upper years (500 people maybe) give a round of applause after a speech or something similar, and it ends up with 5 or so people giving individual claps 20 seconds afterwards. In a huge, echoey hall. It can be quite entertaining. So anyway, in Chemistry, our teacher makes a joke (he said the following ![]() I've been lucky enough in my time to see many famous comedians. Jack Dee, Ed Byrne, Michael MacIntyre. But nothing was as funny, as watching (he points at the class smart-guy (the one that is not me :$)) [name] playing football. (FYI, he throws overarm, one-handed when shooting in basketball, so he must be awful at football) So everyone laughs, then one person claps, and suddenly the whole room breaks into applause. Aftger it begins to die down, we are left with one or two claps. This goes on for about 5 seconds between 3 people, with the teacher staring at them. The main guy suddenly says in a stage whisper, last clap, which causes 4 more people to join in. The teacher is still staring, a slight smirk, while everyone slowly claps in succession. When he actually starts to speak, everyone joins in, resulting in 26 people breaking into another random round of applause. This happens 2 more times, before the teacher finally says, "Right. I make that 6 minutes of our lesson you've wasted, so we're going 6 minutes into break. And if someone claps once more, we're going to start the 40 minute lesson again from that clap." Silence for 5 seconds as he stares, daring someone to clap. ... ... ... Clap. Clap. Clap. This goes on for another 30 seconds before it all dies down, and we finally get on with the lesson. Of course, as we leave, another 5 people begin clapping again in an effort to win. True story. | 2009-03-19 19:50:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |

yeah i agree it a must read very good book. The ending is really sad . I'm just trying to think of reasons for an essay i need 2 - 3 A4 pages and have one at the moment. I've only been writing for 20 minutes though. This is what i have so far. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I would recommend the novel of mice and men for a number of reasons. One of the reasons I would recommended Of Mice and Men are the themes explored in the book are very interesting and captivating. One of the main themes in the book is the theme of friendship. One of the main ways this there is explored is through George and Lenny?s relationship. George and Lenny are mutually dependent on each other. Lenny needs George to look after him and get him out of trouble and George needs Lenny to stop him being lonely. One of the other themes explored that is directly linked to the theme of friendship is the theme of loneliness. Many characters in the book are lonely including Crooks, Candy and Curly?s Wife. Crooks is lonely because no one will talk to him because they are racist and he is black. Crook says ?a guy goes nuts if he ain?t got nobody? this statement is really true and says a lot about the nature of loneliness. Another important theme is the th4eme of dreams. Many characters in the book have unrealised dreams. Lenny, George and later Crooks dream of owning a small farm, Curly?s wife dreams of being an actress and the fame that would come with it, the tragic thing about these dreams is that they are never realised Lenny and Curly?s wife are killed with there dreams unfulfilled and Lenny?s death has left George a broken man. While there dreams have left main characters lives shattered, the author points out it is important to have dreams to give people a reason to go on in life. Of mice and men is a very concise and compact book. Events happen fast in the book. The story takes place over a few days and there is constantly something happening which keeps the book interesting. The dialogue of the book is extremely realistic and exactly how the characters in the book would speak. There is a lot of swearing in the book which adds to the realism because people swear in real life. | 2009-03-19 20:09:00 Author: Don Vhalt Posts: 2270 |

| Hamsalad pushed open the door, a stern look on his face. Today he was ready to pick a vicious fight with the next human he saw. He placed down one of his feet, crushing the cold wooden floor slightly. His eyes were transfixed straight down the centre of his view, but then he began eyeing down every single soul in the room, till someone weak-minded wandered into his sight. However, evading expectancy, Yarbone stood up, looking overly confident and unusually angry. ?Get out of here, before I bring out my bananaz. Yes, my epic bananaz of doom will concoct a whirlpool of misty azure gas to flood the air of this place.? Yarbone clearly spoke, with a slight chuckle amongst his deep voice. ?I?m not leaving, Yarbone. I?m taking this bar for my own, and no-one?s going to stop me, certainly not you.? He quickly roared back, seeming very confident that he would get exactly what he wanted. Yarbone spat to the side of him, and then whistled. His dark eyes appeared to remain in the exact same position, whilst there was a slight movement of his head. The whole town gasped in amazement, as this was a rare yet usually fatal performance. He was carrying out the call of doom. The call that had ended many lives in the past. The call that was meant for his partner... Don Vhalt. On their own, they were superior opponents. However, together they were the town?s equivalent of Armageddon. A ripe yellow banana was whipped out of Yarbone?s belt, and then aimed down like a true professional would do. This caused a slight twitch to occur on Hamsalad?s face, but he quickly recovered, and threw out his hand to the side. This was for a very important reason, as a gleaming golden plate soared threw the sky into it. A smile was formed on his face, but sped off in an instant. He instantly shot it out in front of him, and then a salad of ham dropped onto the plate, set out in a beautiful appearance. After that, only one word was swirling around their minds. ?Showdown?. | 2009-03-19 20:25:00 Author: Bear Posts: 2079 |
| Anyway so my other story is this: Our french teacher became pregnant (ironically, 2 other members of the language department became pregnant at the same time), so we had a new cover teacher while she was on maternity leave. We've had her for several months, but the class still hasn't realised that she is our teacher, and behaves as if it is a cover lesson - talking the whole time and doing no work. She used to give out around 2 detentions a lesson for disruption, then ended up exiling two of the worst offenders to work at the library for two weeks. It didn't change much; still talking, still paper aeroplanes being thrown (today one landed INSIDE someones classes, sticking out.), still random shouts across the room. So she got so fed up, at the end of the lesson, she said "If one more person speaks I'm putting the WHOLE class in lunchtime detention." Silence filled the room, and everyone packed away nice and quietly. Hooray: it had worked! We finished up packing our bags, and we waited while she surveyed the class. And from the corner of the room..."this is stupid." Teacher: "Right! Detention on Thursday!" | 2009-03-19 20:25:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |

| It's the same in every country when you say your leaving. Something. For the passion for the glory for the memories for the money your a soldier for your country what's the difference? all the same. So ya my ex girlfriend just broke up with this guy because she wouldn't go to church and now she's going out with this other kid. I think she's just going out with kids to have a boyfriend. O.o And now onto ANOTHER TOPIC: My english teacher on a test what we think about the love of Romeo and Juliet, if it was strong or weak, and I said "Well this is a stupid question because Romeo and Juliet DIE for eachother at the end, but it really shows how shallow love is because the only reason Romeo really 'loved' Juliet is because she was beautiful. And he instantly forgot about Rosaline. Friar Lawrence even pointed that out." | i've been busy with IRL stuff Plus, Vhalt, you're in the Britain No i'm not we kicked the Brits out also i'm posting my thing so i can get it on my computer at home I would recommend the novel of mice and men for a number of reasons. One of the reasons I would recommended Of Mice and Men are the themes explored in the book. They are very interesting and captivating. One of the main themes in the book is the theme of friendship. One of the main ways this theme is explored is through George and Lenny?s relationship. Another important theme is the theme of dreams. Many characters in the book have unrealised dreams. Lenny, George and later Crooks dream of owning a small farm, Curly?s wife dreams of being an actress and the fame that would come with it, these dreams are version of the ?American dream. The tragic thing about these dreams and many dreams in real life is that they are never realized Lenny and Curly?s wife are killed with there dreams unfulfilled and Lenny?s death has left George a broken man. While their dreams have left main characters lives shattered, the author points out it is important to have dreams to give people a reason to go on in life. Of mice and men is a very concise and compact book. Events happen quickly in the book. The story takes place over a few days and there is constantly something happening which keeps the book interesting. It is very clearly structured, while there is no chapters it is broken up into 6 clearly defined sections which all but the first and last take place in the bunk house. The amount of dialogue in the book and as metioned before that the location rarely changes makes the book extremely play like The dialogue of the book is extremely realistic and exactly how the characters in the book would speak. There is a lot of swearing in the book which adds to the realism because people swear in real life. Steinbeck uses colloquial expressions and the vernacular There is a lot of foreshadowing and pre-empting about how the book will conclude. Some of the foreshadowing is in the fact that Lenny kills many small animals such as mice and puppy?s and the fact that great emphasise is placed on his strength. The pre-empting could have made the plot too obvious if it was over-utilised. In my opinion however while it made the plot slightly predictable, it made the story tie together well. Of mice and Men is a very interesting book to read in the current economic climate because with the recession the economy is starting to go how it was during the depression Animal imagery is used throughout the book. Lenny is compared to a ?bear? and it is said he has a ?paw?. As well as comparing people to animals, Steinbeck uses animals by themselves in the novel. One of the most notable times he did this is near the end of the book when he says ?A water snake glided smoothly up the pool, twisting its periscope head from side to side; and it swam the length of the pool and came to the legs of a motionless heron that stood in the shallows. A silent head and beak lanced down and plucked it out by the head, and the beak swallowed the little snake while its tail waved frantically?. This quote is notable for many reasons. It is notable because of how vividly the snake is described and how it is easy with the help of this brilliant description to picture the water-snake. It is also notable for the contrast in the description, it starts off peaceful until the tone changes when the snake is killed. The killing of the snake also foreshadows Lenny?s fate. | 2009-03-19 20:53:00 Author: Don Vhalt Posts: 2270 |
| Ghost, okay: Hamsalad pushed open the door, a stern look on his face. Today he was ready to pick a vicious fight with the next human he saw. He placed down one of his feet, crushing the cold wooden floor slightly. His eyes were transfixed straight down the centre of his view, but then he began eyeing down every single soul in the room, until someone weak-minded wandered into his sight. However, evading expectancy, Yarbone stood up, looking overly confident and unusually angry. ?Get out of here, before I bring out my bananaz. Yes, my epic bananaz of doom will concoct a whirlpool of misty azure gas to flood the air of this place.? Yarbone spoke clearly, with a slight chuckle amongst his deep voice. ?I?m not leaving, Yarbone. I?m taking this bar for my own, and no-one?s going to stop me, certainly not you.? He roared back quickly, seeming very confident that he would get exactly what he wanted. Yarbone spat to the side of him, and then whistled. His dark eyes appeared to remain in the exact same position, whilst there was only slight movement of his head. A ripe yellow banana was whipped out of Yarbone?s belt, and then he aimed it down like a true professional would do. This caused a slight twitch to occur on Hamsalad?s face, but he quickly recovered, and threw out his hand to the side. This was for a very important reason, as a gleaming golden plate soared through the sky into it. A smile was formed on his face, but sped off in an instant. He instantly shot the plate out in front of him, and then a salad with ham dropped onto the plate, set out in with beautiful appearance. After that, only one word was swirling around their minds. ?Showdown?. Mainly superficial stuff. My favourite correction was: A smile was formed on his face, but sped off in an instant. He instantly shot the plate out in front of him As originally it read A smile was formed on his face, but sped off in an instant. He instantly shot it out in front of him The it meant the plate in the story, but sounded as if it was the smile xD EDIT: Oh yeah, and adverbs generally follow verbs. It flowed freely as opposed to it freely flowed. | 2009-03-19 20:58:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |

| Dudes, I have to do creative writing coursework now. What are you're thoughts on opening in a forest clearing, lots of description on the sunlight and trees etc. A man enters, dragging something in the leaves. He looks over his shoulders, and begins to dig. Trees are "watching him", and he begins to become nervous. He hastens to finish, and as he does, the trees see that it is a body he is burying. As he seals the grave, he unintentionally buries an acorn. The story ends as he exits, leaving a freshly planeted tree to mark the grave. | 2009-03-19 21:18:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |

| I thought of the sweetest game idea today: Your a window with a vacuum cleaner. You have to suck up all these things for this house and the more things you suck up the bigger things you can suck up the vacuum. When time is up, your vacuum cleaner explodes and all the things you sucked up are randomly assembled into a house. You are rated on the size and quality of your house. So ya, isn't that 1337? | 2009-03-19 21:21:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
