ok, i changed the starting point, but didnt putted a way from the spawn point to the house doing minecraft updated (from 1.2_01 to 1.2_01...strangely) and my minimap is not compartible anymore o.o

I'm happy right now, i accidentally dug too deep and i fell in this massive hole, i lit it up and there they were....
DIAMONDS!

And no enemies were there to ruin it for me!
the climb up was a pain in the butt.

EDIT: If anyone wonders why the whole forest next to the city is gone...I accidentally set fire to it with lava (not the with the flint in the picture).

I managed to remove it though after some effort....(Inanimacy helped a bit too)

You see, if this thread didn't become about Whaaaaale's server, this thread would be more about MineCraft. You would then know that the servers are currently going crazy, and it's near impossible to log into any SMP server.

Seriously, I come to this thread for MineCraft. Not people begging about wanting the server to be open or complaining about not being logged in. I'm pretty sure there has been like, 5 pages of 'When will the server open?', and 'Oh no I can't log in!'

You still can talk about general minecraft stuff here. It's just that most of the active people on here usually play on the server as well. Which is why we generally want to discuss stuff about it.

Okay, funny (and aggravating) story guys.
I went on minecraft a day ago, and my game was gone, all my hard work and stuff was gone... i was yelling and shouting, screaming profanity left and right.

So, i just started a new game, i got about 80 percent done with my new home (Which by the way rocks hard)
When i decide to pay a visit to the nether...

When i got there i got some soul sand and left, when i exited... I ended up at my old game's house, at my nether portal...
MY GAME WASN'T GONE!
AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I freaked out again, hugging my computer and crying.
So then i used the invedit to finish my new house.

Sorry for the opposition, but Whaale should absolutely be allowed to post when the server is up. If he doesn't, even more spam will ensue, I'm sure of it. Just let him do his thing, but we should do our best to just check, see if it's up, and just leave it if it is in fact not up.

Let's say the PSN is down. And Sony doesn't bother to tell you when it's up. Don't you believe it's a hassle to try to connect to the PSN every 10-20 minutes just hoping this time would be the time it was up. What if it is down for 10+ hours? And you constantly have the urge to go to your PS3, turn it on, wait to see if your connected online, and if not, repeat every half an hour. Wouldn't you like Sony to tell you when it's up? I don't see the problem with what I am doing. Server checkers are fine but they fall in the same category, no one wants to hop on the computer, check if the server is up, every 20 minutes or so. When it's easier for them to check this thread and see if I've put the server up or not.

I think it's fine if you post, but not really for others. I mean, asking if the server is up takes just as long as hopping onto minecraft and seeing for yourself. And also, you only post about once a day, and it's for something that the majority of this thread wants to know about, so I don't see it as spam 		2011-01-27 01:49:00

Okay, you know what. I'm tired of this fighting. For everyone who doesn't know what is going on, and for those who only know half the story, this is what happened:

It all started, when me, Sage, and Inanimacy infact got into a fight with Whaaaale about X and Seananners. Whaaaale was trying to say (or atleast, one of the things he was trying to say. The fight's subject kept changing) that Seananners was the one who got MineCraft so popular. I claimed that he would've never done it without X, and X already had made MineCraft popular. Eventually Whaaale left the server (to cool down or what, I don't know), and Inanimacy said some rude things. Ever since then, me and Whaaaaale haven't always been on good terms.

Now, the tomb, and the city in general. Before we restarted the server, me, Whaaale, Spider_Jew, and Inanimacy had a plan. We were going to build a huge, organized city, one of the most massive projects on MineCraft. We all agreed.
Eventually, Whaaaale started asking for people to help clear land. Apparently I was doing the least (at the time Whale and Inanimcay were using dirt to extend the land, so that's no wonder), so I imagine that caused some tension.
Now, the tomb. I never said it COULDN'T be in the city, it just couldn't be where it currently was I told LBD (plus at the time it looked nothing like a tiger head, just a pile of blocks). Whaaaale said let him build it, and I let him. Then Whaaaale came back from mining, saw the tomb, and equally freaked out. LBD, me, Whaaaale came to an agreement that the tiger head that was above the tomb would have to go down eventually. Notice how when that time come, LBD didn't mind?
Now, this 'Nazi reign'. All I was doing, was trying to keep people from building in the darn city in bad spots. I only suggested (apparently you guys think I ordered him) a place Vin could build because it had a nice view of the city AND warlord's tower. Heck, I sorta wanted to build a house there!
According to what Inanimacy told me, this is being bossy, and a 'Nazi' reign.

This is where things got bad. Inanimacy was showing me and Spider_Jew the start of his deadmau5 head (oh by the way, good job on that! ), when I noticed Whaaaale wasn't speaking. At all. Seeing as how I just watched all of Yogscast's MineCraft videos the previous day, and I'm a paranoid son-of-a-bunny, I was instantly suspicious. Spider_Jew and Inanimacy told me nothing was wrong. I rushed to Whaaaale to see him placing redstone on the path to our city in a very nice pattern I must say. I was still freaked out though, and broke three pieces. Whaaaale mined a section of the path wall out and ran into a cave. I followed. Whaaaale spammed glowstone everywhere for light, even using it to block up a waterfall. I kept following. Eventually, Whaaaale placed some lava (lava without a bucket. You can get this with InvEdit I believe) beneath him and killed himself. I also suicided, losing a good amount of steel picks and clean stone.
This is where things got bad. Whaaaale started blurting German, I saw he had spammed lava all over a lake, he had put the text 'SONSHI' outside the city, dug a big hole to the center to the planet, and griefed Sage's fairy fountain. I still followed.
I followed him in the forest behind our city. Being the Smokey-The-Bear hater he was, he smacked down some lava in the middle of it. Now I was following him in the BURNING forest behind our city. Eventually, I lost him.
At this point Inanimacy was also acting strange, but as he said in this thread he was faking it, so I won't go into that much detail. Besides, Spider_Jew was with Inanimacy mostly.
So, me and Spider_Jew were discussing what was going on when suddenly obsidian is placed RIGHT NEXT TO ME. I manage to run and turn around to see Whaaaale dressed as Herobrine. It was then obvious that Whaaaale was pulling a prank. Whaaaale started to blurt 'Todes Sonshi' over and over. Once again, I chased him. We went through the burning forest, and Spider_Jew got lost a few times, when we arrived at an obsidian bridge in the middle of a lake. We ran around this a few times, then Whaaaale mysteriously vanished (according to Spider_Jew, Inanimacy did this sometimes too, which meant him and Whaaaaale were on this together.). Spider_Jew and me then witnessed Inanimacy's head full with lava. Then Whaaaaale came to us. I attempted to pour lava on his head by knocking out the dirt blocks of Inanimacy's head, when he finally confessed it was all a joke and prank. However, he claimed to have no part in the actions done by whoever controlled Whaaaale in his non-Herobrine skin. I imagine this was a lie, since when we showed him the word SONSHI written by the city, he suddenly had no idea what that meant, even though he spammed 'TODES SONSHI' earlier. So, eventually I went to bed, woke up, saw that Whaaaaale posted a picture of the forest fire, and asked what me and Spider_Jew had done.

Finally, why I think all the server stuff is spam. I don't MIND you guys talking about the server, this IS the MineCraft thread. But posting 3 times every page 'Server is up!', 'When will the server be up?', 'WHAAAAALE WHERE ARE YOU', gets annoying. BabyDoll even agreed with me! If you made your own thread, you could go and make an OP detailing everything about your server, the members, etc. It could turn into a blog of sorts perhaps! In this thread, you could get up-to-date news about the server, when it's up, when it's down, etc. Wouldn't that be cool?

So, Whaaaale. Now that my half of the story is out, and this fighting between us has started losing a point, truce?

For those who even bother posting tl;dr, that shows you are stuck in your own head where everyone loves you, you're always right, and you date 50 women/men at a time. :-)		2011-01-28 15:04:00

I also suicided, losing a good amount of steel picks and clean stone.
This is where things got bad. Whaaaale started blurting German, I saw he had spammed lava all over a lake, he had put the text 'SONSHI' outside the city, dug a big hole to the center to the planet, and griefed Sage's fairy fountain. I still followed.
I followed him in the forest behind our city. Being the Smokey-The-Bear hater he was, he smacked down some lava in the middle of it. Now I was following him in the BURNING forest behind our city. Eventually, I lost him.
At this point Inanimacy was also acting strange, but as he said in this thread he was faking it, so I won't go into that much detail. Besides, Spider_Jew was with Inanimacy mostly.
So, me and Spider_Jew were discussing what was going on when suddenly obsidian is placed RIGHT NEXT TO ME. I manage to run and turn around to see Whaaaale dressed as Herobrine. It was then obvious that Whaaaale was pulling a prank. Whaaaale started to blurt 'Todes Sonshi' over and over. Once again, I chased him. We went through the burning forest, and Spider_Jew got lost a few times, when we arrived at an obsidian bridge in the middle of a lake. We ran around this a few times, then Whaaaale mysteriously vanished (according to Spider_Jew, Inanimacy did this sometimes too, which meant him and Whaaaaale were on this together.). Spider_Jew and me then witnessed Inanimacy's head full with lava. Then Whaaaaale came to us. I attempted to pour lava on his head by knocking out the dirt blocks of Inanimacy's head, when he finally confessed it was all a joke and prank. However, he claimed to have no part in the actions done by whoever controlled Whaaaale in his non-Herobrine skin. I imagine this was a lie, since when we showed him the word SONSHI written by the city, he suddenly had no idea what that meant, even though he spammed 'TODES SONSHI' earlier. So, eventually I went to bed, woke up, saw that Whaaaaale posted a picture of the forest fire, and asked what me and Spider_Jew had done.

Finally, why I think all the server stuff is spam. I don't MIND you guys talking about the server, this IS the MineCraft thread. But posting 3 times every page 'Server is up!', 'When will the server be up?', 'WHAAAAALE WHERE ARE YOU', gets annoying. BabyDoll even agreed with me! If you made your own thread, you could go and make an OP detailing everything about your server, the members, etc. It could turn into a blog of sorts perhaps! In this thread, you could get up-to-date news about the server, when it's up, when it's down, etc. Wouldn't that be cool?

So, Whaaaale. Now that my half of the story is out, and this fighting between us has started losing a point, truce?

For those who even bother posting tl;dr, that shows you are stuck in your own head where everyone loves you, you're always right, and you date 50 women/men at a time. :-)

Eventually, Whaaaale started asking for people to help clear land. Apparently I was doing the least (at the time Whale and Inanimcay were using dirt to extend the land, so that's no wonder), so I imagine that caused some tension.

You have a late of facts misunderstood, first of all... I was pulling a prank, yes, and I admitted it... You also believe Spider was as confused as you, when he in fact also understood it was a prank but played a long.

I think we could, if we all downloaded the Moderncraft texture pack, which has glass doors, 'cause people are afraid of having creepers waiting outside for them

I think we should have mobs, but we need to test first, like:
We have mobs, BUT, we still have regenerating life. If everybody agree in having mod, so we remove the regenerating health.

Hey guys guess what, my computer stopped recognizing internet cords, and as a result of that i was off for a couple days.
But i did work on something totally EPIC!

I call it.....
JOSHOFSOULS' SAFE HAVEN
It is a place to relax, and escape the dangers of the outside world.
Where animals roam (Far too many to be honest) Freely.

Outside there is a nice fencing that spans all around the property!

If you want to leave the grounds and venture out, you can by going on the "Safe passage bridge"
Which stops in front of the Brick house.

If you feel that there may be an intruder near, you can climb up the watch tower and take a peek!

The outside world has many awesome sites to see, like the VOID OF POSEIDON, a massive rift in the mountains with a huge whirlpool in the middle!

(Best to have the minimap to find them all)

And finally, scattered all around in different areas are 25 hidden cakes!

If you meant the actual place it is, those are dungeons, it's where baby mobs come from >_>

Sorry guys, it was my fault.

Server takes up a lot of CPU Usage so when I have like 10+ tabs open watching youtube videos, roaming around LBPC, Facebook, and all that Jazz my CPU shuts down.

Server takes up a lot of CPU Usage so when I have like 10+ tabs open watching youtube videos, roaming around LBPC, Facebook, and all that Jazz my CPU shuts down.

It's back up now though.

I was too busy going for basketball training in 35 degree heat to play MC. My feet were burning from the floor and I was wearing shoes. (It was an outdoor court) FUUUU it was hot..

Aw yeah awesome...

Anyone know why the grass for the server seems to have completely changed? It's not a biome thing..it's really strange the grass has like a bluish light green colour to it....annoys me.

I was generated new worlds to see what awesome things could happen, and then if I found THIS:

Well it is in the .Minecraft folder, under saves.

Regarding the mobs I think they should be on all the time.

I've been working on a fort with various people over the past week or so. This is what it looks like now;

The main 'floor' of the city is slightly raised above the ground to protect it from mobs, and how the width extends higher up stops spiders from climbing in

If you want to get to the city, go to the clocktower, (More specifically the fountain outside it.) follow the stairs down, and go straight and down the next steps, then turn right and you should see a sign that says Gear Territory or something like that. Then just follow that road for about, oh, I don't know... FIVE minutes! and then you'll arrive at it I'd advise you do this in segments, as the road isn't fully lit, and is in no way safe from mobs.

EDIT: Kay, thanks to the help of Warlord and rseah, the fort has made some more progress:

I was thinking about starting to play Minecraft, but I'm still going back and forth about it. If Zero Punctuation (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/2680-Minecraft) is right about materials taking forever to get only to have your buildings demolished by irritating night creatures, I'm not sure it would be for me. However, seeing things like this Minecraft Predator (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va1-JK3pu2o) encourage me to try it out anyway.

Well, in my opinion, the creepers aren't much of a problem as they won't destroy your stuff, because they only blow up when you're really close to them. So if they get in your house or something, then maybe they'll destroy something, but you can just put it right back together, most of the time.		2011-02-08 20:59:00

I have to thank joshofsouls for sharing his account with me, i have been playing offline at my schools computer lab with my flash drive, and my friends got addicted! thankfully, one of them had it, and told me the currency auto changes... so i'll be able to get it for myself don't have any screens yet (working on that, gotta see my safe house... so awesome! its only entrance, and exits, are underwater... so i can get in... but mobs can't )

Glad to see my good deed has made someone's day.

And as for safe houses, make sure to make your walls 2 blocks thick, because sometimes, a creeper gets too close to your wall as you're walking near it and can be set off.
Windows are a must, so you can see your attackers coming and prepare.

Make sure to never use flint and steel if you have a wooden house.... I made that mistake before.
Always light up the area around your house so that zombies cannot spawn.

And make traps for the zombies.
When you get the chance, get a few blocks of TNT and place pressure plates near them, so if a mob jumps on it, BOOM!		2011-02-09 00:03:00

Yeah tbh now that they are actually here they are a bit irritating...

The lag is increased a lot by the mobs, it takes like 30 seconds for a chest to respond when opened. No big deal but ehh annoying.

However, when creepers and all the various mobs start lagging then it's just arheuhomaugha. There is no real way to tell if you are being attacked until a small delay before you start loosing hearts.

Same for creeper explosions they seem to be not moving then randomly you hear the hiss and boom.


The rotation thing could work alright perhaps every 2nd day instead of 2 days mobs 1 day no mobs. eg. monday mobs, tuesday no mobs ect...

If everyone thinks they should be gone I think you should just take it out. So stuff....

Me never really wanted them in the first place but I guess I didn't speak up. This is because I lag with mobs on and I don't without and they're just a general nuisance for what the ability to make bows? If we made mobs drops available somehow but without having to have mobs on that would be great I know we can get them from dungeons but then you have to find dungeons...so yeah suggestions?


So is anyone up for a challenge I've had an idea for a challenge there will be 10 criteria that your building has to fulfil and the time span will be unlimited seeing as I want to take part in the competition someone else will have to judge. I suggest we do it on the server because then we can assure there will be no cheating anyone up for it? I haven't thought of the criteria yet so add your suggestions.

They're probably not spawning because they won't spawn near you, and if you're in the tree then you're fine.

My house is too empty....I have no idea what to add to it :O

Btw pig if you read this mind helping me fill that massive hole you made to get sand if we are both on? I was thinking just fill the 2nd from the top layer with cobble or something then putting sand on top?

Also has someone been messing with my teleports? I went to my other house and the way points were different. Dun dun DUN!!!

Mind putting iconomy on the server or will that conflict. If you are to put it on money should be given every hour or half hour but you can get money if you build something for the community? It seems we used to have a similar server. Hey0 is down and has not been updated in forever, nothing from the new additions of Minecraft Beta, so, the answer to Hey0 being added is no.

For the Faith rune, I told Whale to take that off. Faith is annoying as hell. If you want to make a sphere, make it. I did a 34 x 34 sphere, twice, I don't think you can whine about how long it'll take. 		2011-02-10 17:01:00
