What games are you playing right now?

Archive: 1309 posts

Is it really worth the money like everyone says? I don't play many episodic games, but I did play the first episode of another series by TellTale, the Monkey Island series, on my iphone. It was free, so it didn't matter, but it could be beaten in 10 minutes flat , and was just one scene on a boat, with practically no exploration. Granted, the first episode could've meant to be the shortest since it was free, but I certainly wouldn't pay for experiences THAT short (no offence, and yeah, yeah, I know. It's a mobile series, which doesn't make a great example). So how long does each episode of the Walking Dead series last, then? It doesn't have to be that long since they all balance out together in the end, if not already, although I'm fine if it follows"quality over quantity."

Well, I've completed 2 episodes so far, and I've gotten AT LEAST a couple of hours out of each of them (I haven't really been timing it to be fair). So, for 5 episodes thats about 10hrs in total.. For a ?15 game that's pretty darn good I'd say. Plus there is replay potential too.

It was probably a demo. I remember the demo of Walking Dead being very short.

Each episode is split into 8 chapters. Some maybe short chapters, but others can be quite a bit longer.

Finished and platinumed Uncharted on Vita. Quite a fun game overall and really liked the story. SOOOO many collectibles, were fun to find though had to grind a little to get the random drops. If you use chapter select 2nd time through you don't have to do the charcoal rubbings and puzzles again which was a nice touch so that replaying didn't get boring.

Currently playing Rayman Origins on Vita. Great, simple, beautifully drawn and animated fun . Waiting for Hot Shots Golf to drop to 10 euro again before buying it.

As you can see, I'm very, very excited for Sly 4, lol

Currently playing Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.

After getting my buns roasted by Dante, (which is weird, knowing I just defeated a two-headed lion, a foreign deity dual-weilding swords, and THOR FOR PETE'S SAKE.) I'm just gonna level up me and my mates in the first kalpa. This is going to be a long, floor-fall-through-ingly and expensive journey to at least get Dante to say, "owie".

Started Journey now. Next game I cannot wait for is Knytt Underground. Loved the first two games (they're free!). And this is free on PSN+. And Mortal Kombat free on Vita next month!!! AHHHHHH I love PSN+

I would've gone for the Journey/Swan combo, but I already own Journey. Played the Swan demo, seems alright. Might wait for it to come down in price though.

Yes you should. We currently get the whole months list in one go and more recently a few days before the first store update of the month. The NA stuff gets anounced one item at a time the day before the store updates.

There's still a reasonable chance that it could be on NA+ next month or later, several games have been on in both regions sometimes in the same month and sometimes with a few months gap.

More Nocturne for me!

And I finally beat Dante for the first time!
It was odd not seeing him use Holy Star to cancel out my Rakunda de-buffs and just try to hack-n-slash the poop out of my team-mates. He got to Apsaras though, but I had Revival Beads aplenty.
And I fused Matador, but at the cost of my mate, High Pixie. She was with me since the beginning as a regular Pixie, and she'll be sorely missed. You better make me proud, Matador. You've got good genes, so you better not put 'em to waist, ya hear?

I've been playing Big Sky Infinity on the PS3 and the Vita for the last couple of days. The commentary was really annoying but once I turned that off in the options, the game game becomes really quite addictive. Challenging and fun. Well worth a look if you're interested in side scrolling shooters.2012-12-21 13:03:00

Went into my backlog and started trying to finish Xenoblade Chronicles, Persona 3, and Halo Reach.

I'm about 60 hours into Xenoblade, so I figure I'm almost half way there, right?

Lego Lord of The Rings. I love LOTR, and Lego Star Wars was one of the first games I played, so I decided to buy it. And it was a great choice, I'm really enjoying it.

A few things bug me, though. Sometimes the connections between the two franchises seems forced. The devs want to make as much environment out of Lego pieces as possible to justify the crossover, but some of said pieces feel really out of place.

MGS Peace Walker, just finished the main story (which was crazier than ever), but will do some side missions tomorrow, another fun game in co-op. Also been playing Rage, it's a lot more fun than I thought it'd be, great gameplay so far, although not particularly bothered about the story. And playing through Limbo which is a cool experience but a real pain on the rare occasion I get really stuck, think I'm almost at the end now.2013-01-03 22:36:00

Currently playing "New Super Mario Bros. U", "Nintendo Land", "Pokemon White 2", and "New Super Mario Bros. 2". I'll come back to LBP2 soon, so I can catch up with finishing a level and playing a lot of the community levels. I also got "Epic Mickey 2 (Wii U)", "Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition", "Pokemon Black 2", "Kingdom Hearts 3D", "Paper Mario: Sticker Star", "Journey: Collector's Edition", "Portal 2", and "Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY". One of them will be played soon when I finish "New Super Mario Bros. U", which I'm already 98% done with it.

Now that 2012 was over, here's the recap of the games I played that year:

Games of 2012:
LBPK
Kid Icarus: Uprising
New Super Mario Bros. U
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Pokemon White 2
Nintendo Land
Angry Birds Space
Angry Birds Star Wars
Kirby's Adventure 3D Classic

Games from the year before 2012:
LBP2
Skyrim
Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3D Land
Kirby's Return to Dreamland
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Zelda: Skyward Sword
Steel Diver
Starfox 64 3D

Classic/other games played in 2012:
Kid Icarus (NES) from Wii Virtual Console
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Sword (GBA) from ambassador free download
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
The "Angry Birds" games before Space and Star Wars

@JustinArt: WOW that's a lot of games you've got on your backlog. How exactly did Kirby's Return to Dreamland stack up for you? I've heard some complaints about the game, but as far as I've seen from the previews, it looks to be a pretty solid spiritual sequel to Kirby 64. (Although I'd love to see the return of Adeleine and combining powers sometime later in the series) The variety of powers look nice, the levels are pretty, the story and characters are simple, but cute, and there are some fun extras to top it all off. I know people said the minigames are forgettable, but seeing that shooter one, it actually looks kind of great, and totally oddball-ish and not-kirby whatsoever.

In 2012, I picked up the Sly Collection, the R&C Collection and the Jak and Daxter Collection.. Braid, Limbo and Bastion from the Steam Summer Sale, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii , Metroid Prime 3, Xenoblade and Donkey Kong Country Returns to really get into the good Wii games, the first four Professor Layton games for the DS, Minigore 2, Ghost Trick and Rayman Jungle Run for my iPhone, and finally, Rayman Origins and Journey to top it all off.

Sly 4, Ni No Kuni, Rayman Legends, Pikmin 3, Puppeteer and Luigi's Mansion 2 look like some fun games to be picking up this year.

It has been ten months since I finished "Kirby's Return to Dreamland", but I do remember that it's a good game. Well...not as great as "Kirby's Super Star", which is my favorite Kirby game ever, but it's one of the better installment of the franchise. I say it's an 8/10.

I forgot to mention a few games in the list of games I played in 2012. They are the "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus" HD collection, "Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded", and the first "Paper Mario" game I bought on Wii Virtual Console.

Pre-ordered Aliens, wow that was a mistake. Wow that game is terrible, if anyone here is thinking of getting it, do yourself a favour, don't! Awful. I've traded it in anyway, picked up Far Cry 3, that should be good. Not played that yet though as I was finishing the story to Sleeping Dogs.

Sleeping Dogs is superb, I very much recommend that, plays like the GTA games but it is better in every way, far better combat, story, and characters. Very enjoyable. Loved it.

I'm currently playing LBPV and "Uncharted: Golden Abyss", now that I got Playstation Vita. I'm also playing LBP2, LBPK, "Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY", and "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance". I already completed "Epic Mickey 2", while I'll go back to play all three of That Game Company's visually outstanding games (flOw, Flower, and Journey) in "Journey: Collector's Edition.2013-03-02 18:35:00

Been playing Skyrim and POP: Two Thrones... regarding the latter... games should NOT have non-stacking difficulty level trophies... pain in the ***!!! Though Warrior Within was more annoying, Two Thrones is a much more fun games overall.

Skyrim is great... just got Azura's star then found out that the black star collects both White and Black souls... so redoing the quest... annoying but will be worth it in the long run I feel. My housemate has it on 360 though and it definitely runs better on 360. Framerate on the PS3 sucks.

Decided to restart Demon's Souls. Have had the game for over a year, but I haven't beaten it yet because I kind of messed up my character. So now I've started anew. Hopefully, this time I'll get it right.

Other than that, LBPV (creating levels) and Wipeout 2048 (trying to complete the online campaign... see you next year, I guess)

I've been playing the Devil May Cry HD trilogy. Played the original when it came out on PS2 and loved it, and playing it again now and it's as fun as ever. The story is super cheesy but the game play is still so much fun. The Phantom and Dark Knight bosses are very enjoyable to fight against, suitably epic confrontations. Looking forward to playing the 3rd game for the first time after this, somehow I missed it back in the day.2013-03-11 23:54:00

I'm sorting them into two catagories: "Before 2008", and "During/After 2008". This is pretty arbitrary, and I just chose it so that I can put older games in one catagory, and newer ones in another. And yes, I know I have too many games on the go.

Games I've been playing that were released before 2008:
Ratchet and Clank (PS2)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (NDS)
Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (NDS)
Earthworm Jim - Special Edition (PC)
Jazz Jackrabbit (DOS)
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (PC)
Duke Nukem 3D (DOS)
Black & White 2 (PC)

Games released during or after 2008:
LittleBigPlanet 2 (PS3)
Castle Crashers (PS3)
Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition (PC)
Minecraft (PC)
Spore/Galactic Adventures (PC) (Say what you will about it, but the Space Stage is pretty fun)

Dang, you did pretty well there, Lieutenant.

As for me, I've been dabbling in PASBR and going through the Devil May Cry HD Collection.
First game is pretty fun so far, but come on, I do a lot of Astonishing/Stylish combos, and I finish in a good pace and I still get B ranks.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO PLEASE YOU

Also I'm attempting another level in LBPK, if my idea doesn't go down in flames.

Been playing:

-LBP2 (duh)
-Tomb Raider
-Skyrim (all the DLC)

Plus, last week I traded in few games and managed to get 3 games for a grand total of 49p!

- The Saboteur (Decent game, though it does feel a little dated, understandably)
- Operation Flashpoint: Red River (I'm pretty naff at it )
- Dead Island GOTY Edition (Fun game, although so far the quests aren't particularly interesting, just a case of "go here, do that, come back again")

I've been waiting to pick it up for a while, and saw it on offer at 2 for ?10 so couldn't pass it up.

Like I said, it does feel a bit outdated compared to newer 3rd person games, but it's fun for what it's worth (haven't played too much so far). Quite humorous at times, nice dialogue albeit with some dodgy European accents.

Thanks! As for Devil May Cry, the original, they generally grade you on the speed you get through a level, how much health you lose, and how many items you've used. (Try to use none). Having Stylish combos helps I believe but it's probably the least important part. Speed is key.

I moved onto Killzone 3 for the last few days, tore through the story which I thought was great fun and had a very entertaiing plot, and I spent some time on the multiplayer, which is well put together. Looking forward to the next two Killzone games now on Vita and PS4.

Heh, I played with a priest on a small guild and reached 60, got some awesome stuff by now and already have a berzerker on lv34 and a lancer on 14, you get a lot of gold doing the nexus events by end-game, i could have way more awesome stuff by now but i waste all my money on costumes...

30 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii and I'm loving every second of it. I've barely played any RPGs, but decided to get this one, and man do I not regret the purchase. The battle system is loads of fun, the story is very interesting, the characters have personality, plus the concept of living on a titan like the Bionis is just awesome. Loving the over-the-top cutscenes as well. ^^

For anyone else who might be familiar with the game, I rushed through Makna Forest and Riki's village after spending hours upon hours in Satorl Marsh. (After SO much time in the Ether Mine and training against Xord!) So I should probably try levelling up before getting Riki's equipment and fighting the prime telethia.

After this, there's always "Ni no Kuni" sitting on the shelves, as well as "The Last Story" to pick up. Besides those for RPGs, I'm still giddy for more info. on Monolith Soft's "X" for Wii U. Let's hope for a shipload of details at E3, along with all the other games Nintendo plans to show off at their panel.

Platinumed MGS3... then got the PS3 plat using transfarring... kinda felt like cheating... :-/

Also playing some GOW: Ascension. It's good... the combat is a bit hard to get used to though. The camera zooms out so much that it's hard to see when the enemies are attacking. And the enemies don't seem to show when they're attacked as much as previous games. Makes the game feel a bit cheap. Still, it's pretty good. And spectacular in terms of set-pieces.

Took a break from my main profile to make two new ones.

One so I can decide who I want to marry without immediately rushing over to Panne, and two, so I can be a woman and marry Gaius.

Good luck! That MGS2 plat will take some serious skill, as well as a huge amount of play time, you'd definitely deserve two platinums for that.

I've been playing some Uncharted on my Vita and have just downloaded Velocity Ultra on there as well. Good fun so far! Also getting ready to get back into some LBP2, oh yes.

I've been playing:

GoW: Ascension
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (completed and 100%'d)
Unfinished Swan
LBP 2 (duh)
A wee bit of Skyrim here and there

Bioshock Infinite and (perhaps) Dishonoured are next on me list.

Well I've finished Very Easy and Easy with all dog tags on both the Tanker and Plant. Have normal finished on Tanker and now almost finished Normal on the Plant. Hopefully have stealth after this playthrough which should make Hard and Extreme a bit easier.

Haven't even started the VR missions. I'm hoping they won't be too annoying... then again anything will be better than playing the plant over and over again... why did my least favourite MGS game have to be the most annoying platinum... wouldn't be as bad if you could remove all codecs and cutscenes... them popping up and having to skip them is still pretty annoying. Hmmm... might get around to starting the MGS4 platinum after this.

Mario Hoops 3 on 3

Sure, the game's fun, but the AI in some levels is just FRUSTRATING.

Like, wow, I actually punched my 3DS from being continuously suicide-bombed by the opposing team in the Wario Factory stage, and WHOEVER THOUGH THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA WILL BE DESTROYED BY MY ARMY OF CLOWNS

Still playing LBP2 and LBPK. I'm right now creating my first LBPV level, and it's about 75% done. In addition, I played 'Soldner X2' when it was on sale at Playstation Store, and it's a radical shooter game with cool graphics and epic soundtrack, despite that it's easier than the first installment. In 3DS, I played an original Gameboy game I downloaded called 'Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters", which took place between the original and Uprising. I completed the story in 'Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY', but I haven't try out the challenges and extras from GOTY, so that should be done before going for 'Arkham City Armored Edition'. This summer will be a great time to go back to 'Skyrim' right were I left off before Christmas, in addition to the games that haven't been played once like 'Pokemon Black 2', 'Portal 2', 'Paper Mario Sticker Star', 'Gravity Rush', and 'Wipeout 2048'.2013-05-20 20:16:00

Mostly Civilization 4, Tomb Raider 2013 (just finished it at 100% complete so I won't be touching it for a good while).
I still play LBP2 often, though it's mostly me working on my moon.
Hopefully though I can add World in Conflict to the list soon enough.

For some reason, my 80gb couldn't read any discs so it looks like I can't play any PS3 discs games for a while . For now, the only games I can play on PS3 are the downloaded ones like 'Pixeljunk Shooter 2', 'Earthworm Jim HD', and 'Soldner X2'. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix the problem?

As in LBPV, I'm almost done with my first LBPV level.

If ya feel like opening the console up you can get replacement blu-ray lasers. I'm considering getting one soon, mine will only read newer discs after it warms up for about an hour. Before that it just clicks for ages.2013-06-01 03:32:00

Some but not all blu-ray movies don't don't work as I know games still play without a problem still.

I'm reluctant to buy and use a DVD play cleaner kit as there's risks that aren't worth it. Otherwise I'm most likely the replace my 4 year old 80GB for a 500GB PS3 sometime before Sony stops making the PS3, that way, it should be more economically cost effective to by new instead.

Hyperdimension Neptune Victory. It's kinda hard to explain just how much better this game is than the previous ones. Just the speed which everything loads alone makes a huge difference in how it plays.

Congrats! I hear that is a very difficult game to platinum. Superb game though, it has to be said.

I'm currently playing The Last of Us, Tekken Revolution (which is free to play) and some LBP Karting. Taken a little break from the Vita but I'm sure I'll be back on it soon.

The Last of Us. Wonderful game. Had to take a break for a few days though as blu-ray laser broke (been on the fritz for a while, kept clicking when trying to read dual-layer discs and after a while, changing positions and waiting for it to warm up no longer worked). Bought a new laser online, opened up the blu-ray drive and inserted it and its all good now. So will be getting through Normal+ over the next few days .2013-06-25 07:41:00

Ico
Shadow of the Collossus
Catherine

Ooh man, I've been eyeing the 3DS XL for a while now, I'm wondering if you gaiz can help me make a decision to pick it up or not. I never owned a 3DS, but I did have a DS Lite years back, where like, 500 hours went into Pokemon Diamond, and more time was put into Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. (I don't care what people say about that game, it was my first Zelda, and it was a much better experience for me than a lot of the other ones) I then sold the device (for some dumb reason) and bought another, along with the first 4 Professor Layton games, which have been fantastic.

Anywho though, as for games, Kid Icarus: Uprising looks like a fantastic and original title that will have me playing for a loong time.. until Pokemon X/Y comes along, which should be a great return to Pokemon. (After getting burnt out by Diamond/SoulSilver, and skipping Gen V.) Besides Uprising, Mario Kart 7 looks pretty fun despite some flaws, and continuing the Layton series with Miracle Mask should be fun. Besides Icarus, MK7, and Layton 5 though, that's all I can think of. Layton & the Azran Legacies, Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, and Pokemon X look great, but are still far away. FE: Awakening doesn't seem like my style, neither does Animal Crossing, and Mario3DLand doesn't seem to bring enough to the table. (I hear about "on-the-go" 2 minute levels, and huge life count? Tsk tsk.. was hoping for something closer to Galaxy, I guess) Luigi's Mansion: DM would be a maybe, but I'm not sure how much the gimmicky uses of the DS, incessant pestering from Prof. E. Gadd, etc. would dampen the experience.

Haha, brilliant, I just started playing Hotline Miami a couple of hours ago! Played it on the Vita with some headphones, great game, definitely deserves the hype I think.

As for Xcom, I've always loved it, possibly the most entertaining turn based stratgey game ever. I'd recommend it to everyone as long as you have some patience in learning how best to approach it. Requires a lot of strategy to get anywhere, no doubt about it!

My plans for the months to come:

I will be getting The Last of Us real soon, hopefully that will cover July;
In August I might get Saints Row IV, that will cover one more month;
Then comes September, I will get my copy of GTA V, then you won't be seeing me until 2014.

Here's what I have been playing so far:

LittleBigPlanet Vita: I so far published three Vita levels, and I am working on the fourth level.

New Super Luigi U (DLC of New Super Mario Bros. U): Dang, all those new levels are hard but fun. I already got all the star coins, even some of them are hard to get.

Pixeljunk Shooter 2: While my PS3 has a broken disc reader, there's nothing for my PS3 but the downloaded games, including this one. It's as fun and artistic as the first.

Earthworm Jim HD: As fun to play as the original.

Lumines: Electronic Symphony: This game is as addictive as the other Lumines games, and a variety of music adds more fun to this nifty puzzle game.

Wipeout 2048: Another awesome installment of the racing game franchise.

I'll be playing Pokemon Black 2 very soon, before X and Y comes

Oh dear, Best Buy's cut the prices on both the 3DSes and 3DSXLs by 30 bucks each, but for two days only, so I feel very inclined to pick up a blue or red XL. The problem is, Nintendo has just started dropping hints in ads and some Canadian site about a new black XL coming out. (which would be my preferred color choice (yes yes I know black isn't a color)) Still though, that blue one looks pretty sweet, although I'm in no rush to get the device. I'm just not sure when the next chance will be to pick up a 3DSXL for $169.99...2013-07-27 03:59:00

I began playing both 'Pokemon Black 2' and 'Batman Arkham City Armored Edition' last week. In Black 2, since I already started with all three starters in Black and White generation (black-Snivy, white-Tepig, and white 2-Oshawatt), I started with a level one Larvesta. Arkham City is an excellent sequel with amazing graphics, great use of Wii U pad features and cool extras. I'll be getting a replacement disc part for my PS3 this week, so I can finally go back to LBP2, LBPK, 'Skyrim', and 'Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY', plus playing 'Portal 2' for the first time.2013-08-05 19:48:00

On Saturday I acquired Europa Universalis 4. Haven't played since then but definitely better than the 3rd and is great for grand-strategy lovers. Especially if you like the late medieval-renaissance-napolieonic era.

However it is buggy but should be fine in a few months time when the bugs are ironed out.

Well I said before I was playing Europa Universalis but hadn't got round to playing it that much. Recently I started playing my main game with Portugal, the year 1561 (roughly) I hold Portugal (obviously ), morrocco about 80% of Algeria, the southern coast of Ghana, Benin, The coast of Brazil, Half of Uraguay, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cape Verde, Madiera and the Azores. I beat history by sailing round to china before 1512. Spain have started colonising several Caribbean islands and are my main ally (as well as a weak Ireland) although they constantly get into wars with France (which is slowly dying in a sea of revolts and England)2013-09-23 22:33:00

AC3 - Up to sequence 8 (I think) now. Not a particularly great game if I'm honest. Glad I got it for free. AI is horrendous, stealth is utterly pointless unless you want to get 100%, since it's easy just to kill everyone in sight. I'm the sort of person who likes to do all side missions in games, but in this game they're all so boring, only the naval battles add any sort of variety.

I'm also playing this game called Grand Theft Automobile or something.... has anyone heard of it?

Having 100%ed the game to fill time leading up to GTA V I strongly recommend not getting too involved in side stuff, theres too much crap to wade through like having to uncover most of each map for one of the challenges and the recording of activities on the homestead where one of the characters never wants to do anything different so you end up running back and forth hoping to spawn them doing something else.

Anyone played the 'Beyond: Two Souls' demo? Played it last night. Was a bit worried given that IGN were moaning about the controls a couple of months ago, but I found the controls to be alright. I enjoyed it.
Might play it again to see if I could do it slightly differently. Curious to see how the branching story works, especially since it's a non-linear storyline.

I've been playing Dark Souls a bit, and I've been trying to navigate Blighttown. Here's hoping DS2 doesn't have it... XC

Soul Calibur 4 and Mortal Kombat have also been getting some playtime.

I just bought Game Dev Tycoon. Fantastic game only the saves are screwed I lost my first game (I wasn't doing well no biggie) my beloved second game (I was doing well and was quite far in the timeline) now I hope my third game doesn't go the same way (it Didn't )

Other than that it's great only you can only release a game for one console (later on you can). Definitely worth a look if you're into indie games.

I had just finished playing Journey in one sitting. I am now confident that it is by far the best game ever made. (Yes I have played shadow of the colossus)

I had started my journey alongside a lone traveler. I knew nothing of him and the only means of communication was through of high pitched sound. We went through the whole game together, he even treated me as his Sensei. We were so close to our ultimate goal but then a vicious blizzard hit us. I was lucky enough to be able to use a rock as a barrier but my companion wasn't. He was sent careering off the cliff. That was the last I ever heard of him. We were only 100 footsteps away from our goal and he was brought down. I sung one last song for him with my high pitch sounds before completing the Journey for both of us.

I'll never forget you....

GTA Online. It's not a particularly engrossing experience at the moment (in fact most aspects are excessively grindy and unenjoyable) but having a fist fight on top of a moving train is a heck of a lot of fun.2013-11-05 17:57:00

I've been playing Remember Me (free on PS+). Not a bad game. Combat is fairly basic, and there is a basic pattern to the gameplay. Platforming --> Combat --> Platforming --> Combat --> (Rinse and repeat, insert possible memory remixing) --> Boss fight --> End chapter

When I first encountered another player on Journey I hid behind a rock.
I'm someone who likes to play games at their own pace, so Coop doesn't really appeal to me that much.

Just finished Tearaway. Got it on day 1, beat it the morning after.
It was a nice experience, but I beat it in about four hours. Aside from replaying the levels you couldn't jump or roll around in, it has no postgame content. Also Papercrafting isn't really my thing so I have no reason to pick this game up ever again.
It wasn't a bad game. It was just too short and too easy.
I'm also a bitter this game didn't have a level editor. It would have extended my play time tremendously.

Not even with the other PS+ members? It managed about 60 people just on being free in Germany in february I would have expected more from the whole NA region.

Nope. Can't even get enough for a single match in anything but Team Deathmatch, and I need to win at least 30 of each type.

Planning on getting rid of Okami Wii so I can pick up Okami HD for the PS3. Reasons: It's digital so it takes up no physical space, it has slightly better graphics and it's brighter than the Wii version apparently, which might make certain areas easier to maneuver through, and it lets you use the Dualshock controller which is good since I wasn't a huge fan of the motion-based painting. Also, the game can be kind of grind-y, something usually more suited on the PS3 for me. I'm also going to try selling Super Smash Bros: Brawl at some point since the game never resonated with me, even though I really wanted to enjoy playing it.

I also just got Super Mario Galaxy 2, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Sin & Punishment: Star Successor in the mail today, which will be fantastic for my Wii. Even after I've gone completely those games though, I'll still have The Last Story, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Red Steel 2, and Zack & Wiki: The Quest for Barbaros' Treasure to pick up and attend to.

Space engineers, not bad for a sandbox space game, there are some limited functions because its in beta, but wow the physics engine is impressive and the fact you can make ships and store them in other bigger ships made me get the game

Hotline Miami is great, visceral fun and I'd recommend it to anyone. I think that the difficulty is overstated, though. The only parts that gave me trouble were the molotov boss fight and the final boss, but who knows I might just be good at it (not likely). I'm two trophies away from platinum, getting A+s on some of the later levels might be a pain.

Rayman Legends is pretty good, but it feels less precise and polished than Origins. I dunno, the hit boxes just seem a bit off at times. The Murphy sections are pretty bad, not because they're poorly designed, but because the AI is absolute garbage in these sections, which is enough to ruin them for me. I'm also not sure why they included all of the Rayman Origins levels. In the new engine they are just pretty bland and for whatever reason they seem less polished than when they appeared in Origins. This wouldn't be an issue but they force you to go through these to 100% the game, which just seems pretty lazy.

Thomas Was Alone was okay. The narration and the puzzles were endearing, but the platforming was pretty dull at best. Team Jump is great though.

I actually found Hotline Miami quite tough. I must've died 20+ times on most levels.

I'm thinking about getting Rayman Origins in the PS+ sale, would you recommend I skip it and go straight to Legends?

Personally I loved Legends but I am aware many people found Origins like a better game. I believe you will enjoy Legends more only if you manage to play it on the Wii U, even though every version is pretty good I guess. Both are great games, but I believe Legends has more replayability with online challenges every day and cool stuff like that.

Beyond: Two Souls - Good game. The combat can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes it's difficult to tell which direction you're supposed to press.

Dead Space 3 - Not as bad as I'd thought it'd be, though some bits do seem to be a bit relentless. Throwing dozens of ememies at you at once, it can get a bit frustrating. Like.... where the hell do they keep coming from? Do the necromorphs have a green room where they just sit waiting for you to pop down?

Mass Effect - Feels very dated. Combat is a bit rubbish (and I'm rubbish at it). Modern games have gotten me used to an abundance of auto save. There seems to be no autosave in this game when you're exploring an uncharted world, which I've learnt the hard way after dieing after about 45mins of gameplay and having to do it all again. I bought this in the PSN January sale with the intention of buying the sequels. But I don't think I'll do that now. Game isn't really drawing me in.

The other day, I got a GameCube and 2 games: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Baten Kaitos. I think that both are great RPGs, but Paper Mario has been my favorite and the one I've been playing the most. Baten Kaitos has a very strange battle system, which isn't bad in any way, but is hard to get used to since it gives no tutorial. Both games are really good nonetheless.2014-01-16 22:12:00

I'm right now playing "Pokemon Y" and "Pikmin 3", and I'm back working on a new Vita level in LBPV. Also, I played and completed "Zelda: A Link Between Worlds" and it is a fantastic game thanks to amazing use of 3D, a familiar world with a twist, clever dungeon puzzles, and great soundtrack. I wasn't able to play that Zelda game on Christmas day with a new gold 3DS XL due to Nintendo Network's server problems, but I finally downloaded it. I completed "Tearaway" with all the gold trophies, too. "Zelda: A Link Between Worlds" is a 10 out of 10, while "Tearaway" is a 9 out of 10.2014-01-20 22:18:00

Well, I just checked one of my older e-mail accounts I hardly use anymore and it turns out I was invited to the Project Spark Beta for Windows 8.... on January 7th. Despite trying to research it, I couldn't find any info on when the beta ends, but assuming it hasn't already wrapped up, anyone who wants the beta code, just say so here.

I finished Lone Survivor yesterday:

It was a good little game, but it just kinda..... ended. There was no real explanation for everything that went on. Yes, we are to assume that it all went on in his head, but what is it with these indie games that have hidden meanings where you have to search internet blogs to find out what the **** was going on? Braid is another one like that! It does make me feel kinda cheated. You play these games thinking you're working towards a certain goal, and then at the end they throw a complete curveball that changes everything that went before it.

Good news, I got a new PS3. That means I can finally play any disc games. The bad news is that LBP2 keeps on crashing for some reason . More info on this situation:
https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=83515-Starting-LBP2-Problem-on-My-New-PS3

Anyways, I completed "Pikmin 3" and become a Kalos Pokemon champion (again) in "Pokemon Y". I also finished "Paper Mario Sticker Star" with all kinds of stickers collected. I'm nearly done with a new LBPV level, so it should be published at some point next week (or so). The new PS3 system I got came with "The Last of Us", and I got some other PS3 games to play back in Christmas Day 2013 which are "Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix", "Jak and Daxter HD Collection", "Ratchet and Clank HD Collection", "Ni No Kuni", and "Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus". It's great to be back on PS3.

Pikmin 3: 9.5/10
Pokemon Y: 10/10
Paper Mario Sticker Star: 8/10

EDIT: Never mind about the LBP2 problem, it's already fixed.

Have been playing Outland. Got it on sale for about ?3.50. In terms of gameplay, it's not too dissimilar to Guacamelee. A mixture of platforming + combat, plus there's also the fact that the gameplay involves switching between 2 phases, in this case the light (blue) and dark (red) phases.2014-03-10 10:19:00

War Thunder. I suck at this game.

I tipped my Buffalo over on the runway within 10 seconds of a match starting by giving it too much throttle. The rest of my team took off sensibly, probably shaking their heads.

Possibly the most embarrassing death I've ever had in a game but it was pretty funny.

Fez - A lovely little puzzle/platformer. Quite a decent size too. Plenty of rooms to explore, plenty of secrets. I would highly recommend it.

Beyond Good & Evil - Another good game. ?2.39 on PS+. Can't complain. Only issue I have with it is the camera, mainly the lack of an option to invert the left/right camera controls.

I bought mount & blade warband on Saturday.i played the multiplayer which is very fun (although I can only get kills with a crossbow). The single player is also fun. My first game ended with me being taken prisoner by bandits, during the first quest. Later that game I had about thirty men and lost them all to one battle, and I was captured again.

Determined to not let this happen again I create a new character. It goes well, despite having to kill 6 men and capture another during an attempted robbery on the roadside by myself. I was almost captured by the Saranids who had besieged a castle I was in, and which I tried to escape from. I was knocked out in the first wave and sat out the rest. My army had been devastated but we stopped the Saranids from advancing further. Now I'm landed with a village to my name. We just went to war with Swadia and my village was pillaged. We had just taken a castle and I'm now determined to get revenge for my fief, even if it means ambushing farmers and caravans.

Reminds me of a time when I played with some friends on the Xbox version where every ten seconds a creeper would blow up behind me. The island we settled on was basically covered in craters, strangely I only died once in that world, that's even being able to fight the ender dragon.

Anyways I'm back playing Europa Universalis 4, both vanilla and total conversion mod, veritas et fortitudo. My vanilla game has me as controlling most of Germany, one province away from forming it, Austria is my sworn enemy and I'm currently seizing Russian colonies in Indonesia while my allies through more fodder at them.

In veritas I'm Moldavia and I have the goal of uniting Romania, Walachia are my vassals only need to annex them. Golden Horde invaded me only for me and Muscovy (+vassals) to repel them. The Crimean horde I've been chiseling away at and now they are reduced to one province.

Ever since I got a new PS3 a month and a half ago, I returned to LBP2 and began playing as many team picked levels and some of my favorite creators' new levels as possible to catch up with what I have missed for the last eight months. I also caught up with the DLCs by playing "The Nightmare Before Christmas" gallery and "DC Comics" premium level kit. Both DLCs has great backgrounds, materials, interactive music, sounds, stickers, and decorations, and the wall jump and hero cape are great additions.

Also, the first new PS3 game I started playing after earning a new console is "The Last of Us". I thought it's going to be like a post-pandemic version of the "Uncharted" franchise, but...WOW--it's more than just that! Naughty Dog has delivered another superb game with fantastic story, gameplay, graphics, and extras. The second new PS3 game I played is "Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus". It may have been the second shortest R&C game I have ever played (first is "Quest for Booty"), but the franchise is still going strong with awesome platforming gameplay and various weapons. Both "The Last of Us" and "Into the Nexus" are worth playing again this summer but in +(TLoU), "Left Behind DLC"(TLoU) and Challenge mode (R&C).

Just to get ready for "Mario Kart 8", I thought of playing "Mario Kart 7" right were I left off the last time I played it a long time ago. I still need to collect as many coins as possible to earn more parts, but I collected all the gold trophies (last time, I didn't collect the Lightning and Special cup, extra mode).

In addition to "Mario Kart 7", I'm right now making a LBPV level that will feature the wall jumps and hero cape from the "DC Comics" kit, which I already aced all the levels and collected all the prizes in that DLC. And I have been playing "Ni No Kuni" since last week and it's a great game so far.

LBP2 TNBC kit 9/10
LBP2 DC Comics kit 10/10
The Last of Us 10/10
Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus 9/10
Mario Kart 7 9.5/10
LBPV DC Comics Kit 8.5/10
Ni No Kuni (Review in Progress, finalized when completing the game)

I fancy playing that at some point. Are the servers still only open between certain hours? When I last looked it into it that turned me off, unless I'm confusing it with another game.

Normal stuff then. I think I had it mixed up with something else.

And yeah you're right, the Sega ID thing was kinda a pain.

Playing Rayman Legends once a day for the challenges. Also finishing collecting everything in Tomb Raider. Also just bought Guacamelee and Red Dead on that Spring sale. And of course I'm playing Tales of Symphonia when I have the time.

PS4? What for?

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix.

I bought it on an impulse a few weeks ago and I've finally started playing. But now I remember why I stopped.

People who complain about LittleBigPlanet being too floaty must have never played Kingdom Hearts.

I'm currently playing The Wolf Among Us, and Vanquish. Both enjoyable for very different reasons. 1 episode into TWAU and I'm already regretting decisions I've made, mainly:

Ripping the guy's arm off. Very unlike me. I usually go for the "good guy" decision, but I let the red mist take over.

I've also just bought a PS4, so I should have that by the end of this week. 10% off on Tesco online during the WC final, so with the deal I got:

PS4 (yay) + inFamous: SS (yay) + Amazing Spiderman Blu Ray (meh) + Delivery = ?340

They did have a deal earlier in the WC (during the last England match) which was 15% off, but I missed out on that because the person who told me said the deal expired midnight, when in actual fact it expired when England's WC did!

Got my PS4. Haven't played on it a massive amount so far, since I still have PS3 games on the go. Just a bit of infamous and Stick it to the Man. Also have Killzone, but haven't played it yet. I believe the weather will be a bit crap this weekend, so that'll give me plenty of time to play it, and also I won't have to make excuses for not going out and enjoying the weather.

Yeah, the graphics are excellent. To be honest thought, PS4 graphics at this stage aren't a huge step up from some of the later PS3 games. There's not as big a leap when compared to previous generations. I enjoyed Beyond, can't understand some of the hugely negative reviews it got. It's not perfect by any means, but doesn't deserve a lot of the criticisms IMO.

Personally I like my multiplayer (including coop/MMO type crap) and my single player to stay separate. I would like the choice to play the game alone without being harassed by other players, ruining my mojo when I'm trying to pick enemies off from a distance etc.
Same goes with that game 'The Division', if that was a single player game I'd be excited, but since it's this always online coop nonsense, I'm a bit more meh about it.

I totally get what you mean. It can be a little infuriating that players go and ruin your perfectly planned stealth approach to the battles. Yeah, this is definitely not a good choice if you love single player. The campaign is decent enough, but this is a multiplayer game all the way. And I'm sure if you find a couple of friends to play with it can be amazing :arg:

Man, I haven't post anything on this thread since mid-April . I finished the main story and all the errands and bounty hunts in "Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch" back in June, and it is an awesome RPG game. Another great RPG game I played is "Mario and Luigi: Dream Team" in which I just beat the game's final boss. I completed "The Last of Us: Left Behind" as well. Also, I have been playing "Mario Kart 8" since a week after its release, and it is an excellent racing game. I began working on a new LBP2 level, while I started making Chapter 10 of "Time Warp Chronicles" in LBPV. So yeah, that's what I have been playing since mid-April .

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - 9.5/10
The Last of Us: Left Behind - 10/10
Mario and Luigi: Dream Team - 9/10
Mario Kart 8 - 10/10

I've bought the Guacamelee! STCE upgrade for the PS4. I'm not that far into it, but they seem to have changed a fair bit from the orginal, which is nice. For example, you get the "frog slam" move from a completely new location than you did in the orginal.2014-08-15 19:19:00

I'm eagerly awaiting Kingdom Hearts 2.5.

Yesterday I got the Tales of Xillia 2 Collector's Edition (which comes with a lot of awesome stuff!!!), and I've played a decent amount of the game. It's pretty good, not as good as the first Xillia, but good. A few problems I have is that Ludger is way too OP, so you can breeze through battles in like 5 seconds (literally), and the game doesn't explain where to go very well. Otherwise it's a pretty cool game. Also, the Ludger figure is AWESOME!2014-08-20 22:20:00

I played "Portal 2" early this summer and it is a lot of fun. In addition, while I give myself a break playing "Mario Kart 8" and wait for this November's new DLC, I decided to play both "NES Remix 1" and "NES Remix 2". It's great to play all those classic NES games again except in a minigame way. And then I went back playing the "Jak and Daxter" trilogy games but this time in HD remastered PS3. And finally, finally, FINALLY! I got my first platinum trophy all thanks to "Jak and Daxter HD" . Right now, I'm playing the HD remastered version of "Ratchet and Clank".
Portal 2 8.5/10
NES Remix 1 8.5/10
NES Remix 2 8.5/10
Jak and Daxter HD 10/10

Still playing Deadly Premonition. It's still an odd game. Also still playing Velocity 2x. Have reached the last few levels now, it's annoying because I'm having to replay levels now to reach the XP requirements.

I'm also playing TLOU Remastered. After playing it on the PS3 I find I'm struggling a bit with the controls on the PS4, with regards to the shoulder buttons. I'm used to shooting/aiming with R1/L1 on the PS3 version, but on PS4 the default is to shoot/aim with R2/L2. You can change to R1/L1, but since I've been using R2/L2 on every other PS4 game I keep getting mixed up. So whichever option I pick, I keep getting confused in the pressure situations (eg pressing the aim button when I want to run). Think I'm gonna try to stick with R2/L2 to be consistent with other PS4 games.
Also, I've seen some debate on the interwebs on whether the best option is 30 or 60fps. After switching to 30fps for all of 10secs, I can't believe anyone would chose that over 60fps!

Yeah, it's a brilliant game.

I'm not a PC gamer, but did you try playing with a console controller or keyboard and mouse? If you play with a controller, I can't see the experience being different to playing on an actual console. That being said, it's so much easier being a console gamer. Don't have to worry about specs, or my console being outdated 5mins after I purchase it. However the downside is that I can butt in on every console war argument with a "PC MASTER RACE" comment.

Lately I've been playing a lot of Persona 4 Arena to prepare for Ultimax, and am slowly getting better at fighters. My mains are Yu and Yosuke, since I find them the most fun and accessible to play as. I can't wait to play as Sho and Junpei in the sequel.2014-09-23 00:22:00

I've been playing a bit of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, and I'm really enjoying it. The writing is very funny, and it has a pretty interesting artstyle (everything looks like a piece of concept art, which makes the world look really nice but strangely unpolished at the same time). It's probably the first point-and-click adventure game I've enjoyed. I've also been playing The Sims 3 which is quite a lot of fun, and Just Cause 2, which I have mixed opinions of.2014-09-30 03:05:00

I got Persona 4 Arena Ultimax today with the pre-order goodies, and I've gotta say, it's fantastic! While it doesn't stand up next to the RPG legends Persona 3 and 4, it's an amazing fighter. I loved Arena, but there was something that was always missing. The story felt more like an Act I to a story than it's own independent story, and I felt there was a lack of modes. Ultimax adds so much more. The online (for the PS3 version only;sorry Xbox players) has a little lobby like an actual arcade, where your avatar can go up to an arcade machine and play against someone, or chill and chat with everyone else. It feels like a living, breathing arcade. There's also the Golden Arena mode, which is kinda like an RPG in which you choose a character to play as and fight characters, gaining XP and skills to help you in combat, like more strength, status abilities, and more. All the characters combo moves have changed significantly for those I've played as so far. The new characters I played as were Adachi, Junpei, and both Shos. Adachi is ok. His main combo is ok, and his move feel slow and aren't that cool. Really disappointing IMO. Junpei was also ok IMO. He's more of a heavy hitter and slow, which doesn't appeal to me because in fighters I like playing as the fast characters that can do a bunch of moves on the spot. Out of all the characters, Sho (non-Persona) was my favorite to play as. He could make a lot of quick hits, and was mainly an up-close attacker, which appealed to me because I never use Persona moves too often. He also has a sort of dodge/block move, like something akin to Blazblue. The other one, Minazuki felt like a clunkier Sho. I mainly feel this because of his Persona, which doesn't let you do all the sword combos of yore. I haven't started the story yet, but to me it seems like an improvement because it seems like it's a serious issue and is all apocalyptic. Arena's story didn't make you feel like it was a serious issue to solve, but it was fun seeing some of the P3 characters meet the P4 cast. All and all, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a great sequel that deserves a purchase if you liked Persona 3 or 4, and it's predecessor Arena.2014-10-01 01:40:00

Imagine a game with great polish, a combat system almost as great as Bayonetta's, incredibly similar to the cartoon style, fluid, fun, and even hard, appropiate for everyone () and for $15. You guys should really check it out.

Also Destiny.

I am currently playing "Super Smash Bros. for 3DS". It's a really fun fighting game. So far, I unlocked all the fighters and stages, and I completed all of challenges 1 and 2. Now I'm going for half of challenge 3 as I already completed the other half. Also, I got a platinum trophy on all three HD remastered versions of the original "Ratchet and Clank" games. It's great to go back to the first one, the Going Commando one, and the Up Your Arsenal one, despite that the HD versions have a little more glitches than the original PS2 versions. Next week is going to big as I'll be getting both LBP3 and "Super Smash Bros. Wii U" when they come. For now, I published one last LBP2 level yesterday, and I need to reorganize my LBP2 stuff before LBP3 comes.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS 10/10
Ratchet and Clank HD 9/10
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando HD 10/10
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal HD 9.5/10

This whole week I've been playing Tales of Hearts R for the Vita. So far it's a great JRPG for the Vita, and I'm finally glad that it made it's way outside of Japan. The highlights for me are the combat and translation. The combat is probably one of my favorite battle systems in any JRPG, and is worth your time. The translation is pretty flawed, but it's so funny that I honestly don't care. If you have a Vita and are looking for something new to play, I highly recommend this game. If you can get passed it's flaws, than you'll have a great time with it.2014-11-17 02:28:00
