So aaaanyway, I was surprised they showed all of the main (mane?) cast's backstories in a single episode. I thought for sure it would be fleshed out over at least three episodes... unless there's more to come that we haven't seen yet?2011-04-16 21:00:00

No, I think that was it. The one I'm interested is the Galla episode (a sequel to the ticket episode?). I'm hoping to see what happens to the ponies' dreams when they get the chance to accomplish them (that and I think it should be a "special" 2 part or 1 hour episode).

Anyone else thought AJ's story ended a bit...meh-ish? xD
I mean don't get me wrong, the story was good and everything, but it kinda ended...Idk, weird, you know?
I was expecting something to do with Apples, seeing as that's what the mark is.

I agree...She didn't really do something to get it. Like, for instance, Pinkie Pie threw a party, Rarity found the gems, Fluttershy communicated with the animals, Rainbow Dash performed a Sonic Rainboom, and Twilight went all crazy with the magic. All Applejack did was find out where she belongs/who she is...Which is what all of these things the other ponies did point to. Know what I'm saying?		2011-04-16 23:00:00

I don't know what that is, but I'm only going to be adding features from the Desktop Ponies versions (it's up to 1.13 now, sigh, that brony works too fast!). I'm going to upgrade the code to 1.13 and I don't know if I'll continue after that. I've actually been looking at the fanfic for this, which I've never done before... As I see it, it comes in various flavors.

1. Introducing darker elements to create dramatic tension. Something as simple as mentions of death of old age or a pre-Celestia dystopia.

3. Standard pony fare, very similar to show. Rarest type, sadly.

Oh, I'd forgotten the crossover type. I've become quite fond of joking around with Doctor Whoof theories, as that is the other show I'm really digging into at the moment. Yet oddly enough, in the most recent episode, while many noticed Derpy Hooves (full grown, and in fanom circles the most preferred as Dr. Whoof's time-traveler companion) in the crowd at the Summer Sun Celebration, I've yet to see someone else point out the fact that Doctor Whoof himself, while largely invisible, is indeed there.

I just finished watching the new episode. Man, it was funny! It felt short IMO, but that's probably because I liked it a lot, though.

It's interesting that they introduced a new character to the gang. Although, I think the owl's a troll.

Your answers Ponychan. Twilight calls it Owl Wishes, but Rarity pronounced it Owlicious. Because of this, fans found it better to say Owlicious. Sooner or later, someone used a trip called Owlisius, misspelling the name and forever dubbing the owl Owlisius.

Yup yup, that actually did strike me. I guess they didn't feel like coming up with a new dragon design for a dragon we only see for a minute, and probably never see again.

Do remember there ARE many different types of deagons, thse were winge fragons, while spike has not (or has yet to develop) any wings, so different race.
(Also, the Lake dragon now known as "Steven Magent" (One int the 2nd episode, tha rarity gives her tail for as a mustache.) he's a water dragon, and looked completly different to Either Spike or the Sky Dragons.

Well...Just finished watching the episode. It wasn't as grand as I hoped (how ironic) and the ending was a little disappointing, but hey...good. Looooved Fluttershy and Rarity's scenes. :L

Well that's been an interesting season. I enjoyed the last episode... and IMO the reason it seems short is because there's a lot going on (and a lot to like).

Psycho Fluttershy avatar. Did anyone else find her breakdown more unnerving than Pinkie's? I mean, Pinkie was always a bit crazy, but to see Fluttershy so frustrated to the point of screaming like that... it was a bit scary, to be frank.

Also, inviting 6 young ponies to a royal ball for the express purpose of making them go insane and having them trash the place? And not telling them how much the event even sucked anyways? Oh Trollestia.

What I thought about the episode:

Hilarious! All the fairytale elements being toyed with, Twilight not realizing they are ponies and can pull the carriage themselves (or make somepony else do it) Also, the part with the glass shoe was incredibly entertaining too! I do feel somewhat bummed out by the abrupt ending, but that makes me just hunger for more!

Idk, but man it was fun, one of the rooms (They were showing the marathon in 2 rooms simultaneously for lack of user space.) was full at 100 people consistently for up until like 2Am, chat was very lively and fun if I may say so myself.
They aired all of the episodes + a lot of Pony PMVs, one ended with a whole hour of "Myonmyonmyon"
The other one kept repeating the last ep and Flutterrage continuously and finishde with the Myonmyonmyon later on, overall it was prety fun.
(Also, those guys usually make marathons every now and the, so making onne on season finle is not really that odd. )

Oh and yes, they gyrobowl thing boomed because they showed commercials about it during the airing of the last episode, that's pretty much it, the guys decided to make images about it and BAM, gyrobowl is now a meme.

Oh, that's kinda old, it was something about going to some event with your parents to a store I believe and participate in some stuff and you get a Special DVD with the episode "The Ticket Master" that also was dubbed in Portugese i believe, this as far as I know was the 1st episode of MLP FIM dubbed in another langhuage, and i must say, sounds pretty good.

Lauren Faust announced on her deviantART page that she will be no longer working on the show during Season 2. She stated that she is now the Consulting Producer (instead of the Executive Producer) and her contributions will be no more than story concepts and scripts.

The Season 1 finale of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has finally aired.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the absolutely amazing, incredible, astounding crew of MLP:FiM for all their hard work and dedication. I’m so grateful to have such a talented group of artists give their all for what could have easily been seen from day one as silly, girly fluff unworthy of their time. Together I think we helped prove that “for girls” does not have to automatically equal “lame.”

And a gigantic thank you to the fans of the show!!! The kids, the parents and all you bronies!! The array of people this show has touched has completely exceeded my wildest expectations! I cannot believe the response, and, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I cannot keep up with the messages!!! Thank you all for your words of praise, thanks, curiosity, and even your thoughtful criticisms. From the messages I’ve received, these episodes have lifted spirits, brought parents and kids together, changed perspectives and inspired the most unlikely of people in the most unlikely of places. Who would have thought it from a show about candy colored ponies? I want you all to know how grateful I am for you feedback and for sharing your thoughts and stories. I only wish I had the time to reply to everyone and the ability to answer each and every question.

And now I suppose it’s finally time for me to deliver some unfortunate news. I’ve been uncertain for a little while now about how, when and, to be honest, whether to announce the news at all. But here it is: I am no longer working on the show. Various circumstances with the production made it increasingly impossible for me to keep up the level of personal creative involvement and control that I had at the start of the series. I don’t think I can accurately express how difficult and painful the decision was and still is. When Season 2 begins, you will see my credit changed from Executive Producer to Consulting Producer. My involvement in Season 2 ultimately does not reach far beyond story conception and scripts. A little more involved in the beginning, and a little less towards the end.

However, you should be pleased to know that the gaps I have left are being filled by the same amazing artists, writers and directors who brought you Season 1. I’m certain the show will be as entertaining as ever, though perhaps in a slightly different way.

With that said, I hope you will still be interested in sticking around my DA page. I started this page as a forum to share my personal work and I hope that those of you who come here lured by ponies will be tempted to hang out for whatever else I have to share in the future---- as soon as I figure out what that will be!!

Like she said, she didn't had "too mcuh" control of what happened later in the series, yet the last episodes were still pretty awesome.

I have received a whole pile of emails amending/staving off various rumors, so lets throw them all into one big post!

If you read nothing from this post, please at least realize, Lauren Faust stepping down does NOT mean Friendship is Magic is doomed. One person didn't create this show, I thought I made that clear in the other post, but I think most of you skipped that and went straight to comments (Which I should be prepared for by now! )

This is a long one, It will all be after the Page Break

First off, I didn't think people would outrage so hard at Lauren Faust no longer heading the show. She brought it to us and implemented it, but that doesn't mean she did everything. The entire team made the show amazing, and I highly doubt that will change in seasons to come. Why would they destroy something that works so well?

Second, She still has some say in the direction of everything as a consulting director. Her DA journal was a bit misleading near the end, at least from what I have gathered from all these emails. Season two is still largely affected by her.

Now on to various responses from people that work on the show!

First off, we have an layout Artist who posts on the Allspark forums (http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=76678&view=findpost&p=1822766). Here is a direct quote!
"I've known about this for a while now, was wondering when the news would finally break. Now before people go all gloom and doom, I'd like to point out that she is still doing a lot of what she did in season 1. She's still heavily involved in the pre-production of season 2 (story and scripts), she'll just be less involved in the post-production. This really won't have any impact on the production.

To clarify what Kreoss was talking about in his blog, no 7 episodes are not complete, he's talking about watching animatics, essentially storyboards with the recorded dialogue from the voice actors. Layout starts later this month, and animation starts next month, so it'll be a while yet before the season 2 episodes are ready. The past few hours have been filled with various tweets about the future of the show, all positive, I'd suggest hopping over there and checking it out just for some reaffirmation.

Lauren Faust has posted a clarification on her DA page for those of you who are confused as to what will be going down in the future.

Sorry for the confusion. While I'm at it, folks are asking if I left to work on another show. This is not the case. Lauren Faust is technically done with MLP
Season 2 is still primarily her doing, at least when it comes to laying the groundwork for the episodes
Season 2 is further along than we expected! Hurrah!

What this means for Season 3 on the other hand is still up in the air, but like I said in the last update, after working under someone for over a year... don't you think most of the creative inspirations and ideas probably rub off on everyone else? I would be very surprised if season 3 is a huge difference than what we currently have.

Anyway hope that clarifies everything for you all!

"Her role in season 2 (to my understanding) is the same as season 1. A kind of 'Where's Waldo' visual gag for the fans. Instead of being edited into the scenes in post production she's actually showing up in the storyboards. I don't know if she will get an official name or speaking lines, but the Derpy joke scenes are now being planned out ahead of time instead of just thrown in as we go. I'm certainly not in the decision making process, this is just what I'm seeing from my perspective. "And that's exactly how it should be!

So, ya, she was still involved in the planning and writting and all that of season 2, so it shouldn't be as different oas season one, so that's good news!

But on another note, I'm not worried at all. To be honest, she said she trusted the animators herself, and I think she's right. So far, my favorite story writers are still staying (or so I believe) and one of the animators "leaked" info on season 2, and it sounds great! So yeah, it's a tragic loss, but we'll still live.

What, permanently? And what for? I hear it's easy to get banned on 4chan, but ponychan? I didn't know they were strict at all.

4chan's actually harder, depending on what you post and which mod spots it. I only got banned once from that place, and it was only because the mod hated ponies, so I got banned for, and I quote, posting in a pony thread (3 day ban).

As for Ponychan, it's a 3 day ban (ironic, huh?), so no worries. But as for the material itself, I'd rather not talk about it.*

I think Season 2 is going to be good; it's Season 3 that's the wildcard. I'm just glad there's finally going to be an episode on Luna, thus no more mystery.

Also, new version of Java Ponies 1.18.0 is out, now with a whole boatload of ponies (400 ponies!!... k, not really):

Wow, you lurked during the raids? I was actually one of the first to post in those threads (we had a parasprite a day or two ago trying to start up a gore thread; I posted Al Gore with inb4 mods... 2 minutes later the thread got deleted).

So yes, I agree that the mods are fast and effective (and excellent at that!). But if there's one thing they don't understand is a joke:

1. No point in whining about it. It's just a 3 day ban.
2. No, cursing is okay with them (to an extent). It's just that some guy made a thread about iCarly, and like any random thread (both 4chan and Ponychan), everybody over exaggerated for fun. People posted witty comments and reaction images, so I decided to post that image instead. Obviously, some mod didn't catch the joke and decided to ban me. :/
