Hey, everybody, there's a mod I recommend to everybody to have
It's the Zan's Minimap. It adds to your Minecraft a minimap, and with it you can also put waypoints so you never will be lost.

I play on Herocraft (http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1025&t=46180), possibly the largest most populated server to date. You can apply on the forum post by following that link. They don't accept just anyone though!

So guys, how 'bout dem updates?;

New features:
* Note blocks (right click to tune, trigger to play)
* 15 wool dyes
* A new water dwelling mob
* New tree types
* Reeds magically turned into sugar canes. They still make paper.
* A bunch of new crafting recipes
* One secret useful block
* One secret pretty block
* Cake
* AND MOAR, probably. I forget!

Bugfixes:
* Paintings work in multiplayer
* Disconnecting while riding no longer keeps the player in the world
* A bunch more state is properly synched in multiplayer
* Fixed colors going weird on PowerPC
* Fixed a horrible chunk reload loop in singleplayer
* Fixed most lighting bugs in newly generated SMP maps
* Falling sand behaves better in SMP
* Fixed a few crash on load level bugs

When you kill the water mob (AKA the squid, AKA the octopus) it drops ink, and you combine ink with some stuff to make basic colour dyes, then you combine those to make more colours. Theres now birch trees aswell, which are exactly the same as normal trees, they just look different.

Oh, and reeds are now sugar canes, but they still make books. So I can still become a librarian, just one who eats a lot of cake! 		2011-01-13 18:02:00

Yeah I saw that in the wiki and it looks pretty cool...although it apparently is as rare as diamonds but has a larger range...

Maybe this took alot of effort but to me it's a bit of an anti-climax, nothing game changing was added. I mean the dispensers will be impossible to hide seeing as you can't have them point downwards thus making them useless as a trap which I suppose is its intended purpose and the music block is a bit of a shambles it would take so much work to make any sort of music. Coloured blocks are the only real decent addition to me, hopefully he'll update more often.2011-01-13 21:50:00

Hmm I don't think that is it. I've read about 30+ threads already and no one has mentioned that yet, either you know much more then them or that's not the problem. MCAdmin just runs the jar file if I'm not mistaken, and I updated that to Beta 1.2, then again I'm fairly new at this but I still don't feel that is the problem.2011-01-13 22:03:00

I've made excellent traps from dispensers already. They're not useless at all if you have a tiny bit of creativity.

Don't worry, as long as you have one of the better texture packs (One that it's creator cares about, ala the Painterly Pack) it'll probably get updated within the next few days to support the newer textures.		2011-01-13 23:44:00

I went on the minecraft forums, the place is filled with threads like that. Only thing people are saying to turn off mods like Hmod, which I don't even have. And replace the jar file with a updated one, which I did. Still doesn't work.		2011-01-14 00:41:00

Hmmm, I got on my private MineCraft SMP server today (restarted it too!), and I didn't have any problems. I have NO mods installed at all (unless you count the Painterly Pack as a mod). Also, when looking for a half-decent world, I spawned on dirt. 'twas strange.2011-01-14 02:50:00

My friend told me about this software and i thought it might be useful for us, it basically allows to talk to your friends over the internet but it easy and free to use so...it's called teamspeak (http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads&type=ts3_windows_client_latest). EDIT: Got some pictures to share;

First one is the clocktower (and surrounding area) that me and goldenclaw have been working on.

Obviously, the big tower is the clocktower. (THE clocktower, not a clocktower, that's why it doesn't have a clock, cause it's just a name.) At the bottom you can see the farms we have. Goldenclaw made the reed sugar cane farm and the cactus farm (Which is inside the building on the left) with systems that make it easier to collect the harvest.

At the moment, I'm getting rid of the giant mountain we built the clocktower, which the remains of it are now inside the giant base of the tower. It's gonna take a while to get rid of it all, but once it is gone we'll be adding rooms and floors

At the top of the tower you can probably see the Assassins Creed-esque eagle perch thing. Well, right where the boat dock is (in between the sugar and cactus farms) an underwater hole type thing with a bullseye So you can jump off the top and land in it without getting hurt.

So you could actually see the bullseye I had to get some pumpkins and make Jack O' Lanterns to light up down there. During my adventure to find some, I found these weird things;

It's a chunk error (a huge void caused by error), and chunk errors areas an't show in maps. xD
EDIT:
also, when the server's on, i'll add more streets in the city, and make a big block (city block, not an actualy cube block xD) that's 4 times bigger than a normal city block, so we may build something big, like an stadium or a big hospital, something cool and big...any ideas of what i should build?

I think, once we get bored of this save, we should back it up, then start on something like Broville, where we all work together on a massive city. But unlike the one we have now, it would follow a themed look and be more organized. And instead of us building far apart, we build close together.

And with more organization it would probably be awesome, with tons of secrets and stuff

Sorry clay, but the excitement of having our own server just took over. We all wanted to first go out and just create what we want, screw around, and be creative. At first I couldn't even stand the thought of spending hours flattening terrain and waiting for stupid plans to fold out and then build specific things but Im starting to crave that again. Structure, sophistication, and functionality would be a great thing to work towards in the near future but only after a little purging of the mind for a bit longer

Sounds alright, but we really should allow people to go away from the city and make a house or what have you over there. There's no reason every single person should be forced to make a city. :/

Still would be pretty cool though.

EDIT: Also, it should have districts or something:

Commercial - For stores and utilities
Creative - For anything. The grab bag of distircts.
Industrial - For manufacturing plants and big, gray facades
Residential - For houses
Statue - For statues. Just for you, Inan and Whaale

I'm having trouble logging onto the server for the last 2 days
I click join server, then it says logging in...
then, Java becomes unresponsive

Yeah, can't join either, but it was like this toward the end of yesterday as well. I just kept trying about 15 times and finally got in...

Apparently rabbit hat + riding horse = something special :o I don't have the mod myself so I don't know what.

Turns out it dramatically increases the horses jumping power. It's good for travelling in deserts, bouncing over the landscape but on any sort of hills you kill yourself with falling damage.

Or kill your horse.

So, my buddy dalton just bought minecraft, because i told him i wanted it because it looked fun, he got it and got me it too.

So, i've been figuring out how to play pretty quickly, already had 2 creepers blow the hell out of my sactuary.
Loving the game so far.

So let me tell you of the creepers that blew my place up.

I was expanding my underground mine in my house, and my pick broke, so i went back up.
I heard some sort of thumping, so i went to my back door.
Creeper: Hey buddy, nice house you got here.... Ssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!
Me: Oh son of a b-
BOOOOOOM!

My back door, plants, torches and me were gone!

I just got done reinforcing my outer walls, putting some torches down so i could find my way back, i'm going inside, and i here another thumping sound...
Me: oh god not you again...
I go to my back door thinking that i'd see a creeper...
Nope....
Me: Oh, well i guess he's gone...
*Ssssssssss*
Me:FFffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuu-

I left the front door open....
BOOOOOOOOM!

My chest, my furnace and al my stuff gone!

Also regarding the crappy computer I usually play at a fresh 10fps and I still like it lol...unless you get even slower like 1-3fps which I get sometimes lol.

To get it faster play on a lower view distance like short or tiny as well as fast graphics.

Singleplayer is going to get boring, fast. There is only so much you can do, of course you can build tons of buildings and structures, but what's the point if you have no one to talk to? It's an LBPC Server, it's awesome talking to people you know while you build the stuff you build. And a crap computer has nothing to do with how fast it will work on multiplayer. I'm in California. United States, the only reason Rseah has so much lag sometimes is because he lives in Australia. So you should be fine. Well, i i wouldn't mind TRYING your server
But i like singleplayer because it's like an rpg...without quests!
I build a treefort a couple minutes ago, and i've been ranging pigs and stuff!

So yeah, i would like to see what the lbpc server has to offer
