What games are you playing right now?

Archive: 1309 posts

Nowadays I am playing NFS Hot Pursuit and Fallout: New Vegas games. I recently purchase these two games and both are my favourite games at recent time. Nice graphics and animation in this game. Proper games for gaming lover.2011-01-13 10:54:00

Yakuza 3. The story is kind of confusing but there's a relationship-tree and videos detailing the story from Yakuza 1 & 2 which are done really well and are much appreciated. The combat is really good, the graphics are great especially during cut-scenes, some really nice textures in there and the story is really well done, very dramatic but not too cheesy. So yeah enjoying it so far . Not that far in yet.

Low on cash at the moment so waiting a while before I buy Dead Space 2 and LBP2.

Back to Demon's Souls. Just got Northern Regalia. A bit disappointed, didn't realise it was a Big Sword... swing rate is too slow so I'm back to the Blueblood. Hopefully I'll have almost all of the Trophies after this playthrough. Also killed 3 Black Phantoms... a LOT of fun!!!2011-01-29 23:21:00

And still DS. Killed a Black Phantom of the final Latria boss . Got killed like 4 times before I managed it. Have almost all of the spells, miracles, rings and weapons now. One ring, 3 weapons, 2 spells and 1 miracle to go. Almost finished NG++, just world 5 and 1-4 to finish. Then have to do world 2 (Dragon Bone Smasher), 3 (for the yellow soul) and 5 (for pureblood soul) and then should have the platinum .

God for me to have played the game this much and not be sick of it is incredible. I'm also kind of looking forward to starting all over again with a new character too. Female this time, I want those silver bracelets and Mephistopheles costume.

God for me to have played the game this much and not be sick of it is incredible. I'm not kidding when I say that personally Demon's Souls is my best experience in life. It's been more than a year and I still get much of the same adrenaline rush from PvP matches, and those were insane when I was new to the game.

As my signature might indicate, I've mainly been messing about in LBP2, with a bit of Fire Emblem on the side while I don't have access to the former. The rest of the games on my NP list are something I may or may not get around to eventually.

Two Worlds II....man that game is immersive...seriously love it to death it's my new OBLIVION until Skyrim comes out

and probably on monday you can add MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3 to the hits too

as for LBP2? too many bugs for me to bother with it...love the game...don't have the patience to withstand all the bugs...even WITH the patch that came out :/

Updating the games I'm playing right now

LittleBigPlanet 2
Marvel vs Capcom 3

I still kinda feel lucky when I'm fighting online in MvC3. I usually suck at crazy-fast 2D fighting games,
but in MvC3 I can perform sweet air combos on Normal mode.
The greatest part is that I'm not even using Sentinel!

MVC3 on the list now

as for someone mentioning sentinel...he's not as powerful as he was in MVC2...now he can be knocked down pretty easily....which is pretty good

still the game is awesome...hope they add Megaman Zero in as DLC since they mentioned him

Well, I've managed to beat few Sentinel players with Viewtiful Joe thanks to his almost endless Air Joe combo and Six Machine cannon. But I hate when they always spam standing H and crouching H with any Hyper.
I admit that Joe's my current main along with Iron Man and X-23 right now.
Well, MegaMan Zero would be great ( or any other MegaMan ) . . . But we already got Zero.
It is rumored that next DLC characters along with Jill and Shuma-Gorath are Frank West and Doc Ock.
I'd like to see those characters playable because of curiousity, but I won't get my hopes high.

zero and megaman zero have different playstyles and trust me you'll know the difference...we also need megaman trigger too....capcom has a thread for people to request DLC characters and describe why they deserve to be in the game so I'll take a crack at it someday

as for my mains....Zero is my main MAIN as for the other 2? i forgot but i know Dante is one of them (im going by the 3 team thing they give you to have them already set)

I've been kicking it old school with Okami on the Wii, if you like relaxing, arty stuff with nice gameplay I suggest you check it out. It has some really dark undertones cropping up through it though but that only makes it better (:

Oh and LBP2 but that's a given in this place.

Currently splitting my time between the following:

LBP2 - Obv.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - There is an insane amount of stuff to do in this game compared to the previous ones. Also, multiplayer's great!
The Witcher - Working through a pile of PC RPGs in preperation for their sequels this year. This one... well it's weird.
Team Fortress 2 - Which I've been dipping in and out of for over a year now.
SpaceChem - Strange indie puzzle/logic game. Insanely difficult.

I rented Demons Souls. It's good fun and well made, but they weren't kidding when they said it was really difficult. I generally love a good challenge, but having to constantly start from the beginning of a level due to the smallest mistake became too frustrating in the end. Sucked the fun out of it for me, it's a shame.2011-03-18 18:05:00

which is why the game is only made to separate the casuals and the hardcore gamers...beat this game and its the best RPG ever made currently until Dark Souls comes out...

Friggin Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I love the game to death, but **** it anyway, if I knew I had to start a whole new save to beat the game on hard...Well let's just say I'd have three less playthroughs.

And yes, I'm an idiot.

Good news though, Azimuth and one Gold Bolt are all that's standing in my way of the Platinum trophy.

If General Chat can have a "What music are you listening to right now?" Thread, then the Video Game ones should have the gamer equivalent. I don't necessarily mean what game are you playing while you read the forums, but what games are you actively playing in the present.

Diablo 2 (PC)
Cityville
LBP1 (grrrrrrrrrr)
LBP2
Jewel Quest
That just about accounts for 12 hours a day, right?

Bought, finished and got all the achievements in Beyond Good & Evil. Great game! Only problem was the camera got pretty wonky at times but other than that it holds up excellently.

Playing Braid and Shadow Complex at the moment. Both great games.

Also finished the demo of Divinity 2. Quite a fun game and ended up ordering it on amazon.

Next purchase will be Outland. Looks fantastic: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/co-op-trailer-outland/712795

EDIT: Playing Divinity 2 at the mo. It's pretty good. What really stands out for me is the voice acting and characters which are all portrayed quite well and are generally amusing. Graphics are nothing to write home about but the game definitely does not look bad.

Pretty much everything in the game could be called serviceable and good with excellent variety in gameplay and an enjoyable levelling up system. There are lots of little touches that add a lot to making the game fun to play. The map for instance isn't spectacular but on the plus side it works well and is quickly accessed; I'd take it over Oblivion's map any day. The mindread function isn't necessary to use at all but at the same time can be very useful (EDIT: Actually it is necessary on a number of occasions, I don't think you need to upgrade it though). Also the character design is VERY good with fittingly impressive armour and weapons for powerful characters. Also the game is fully voiced, even when reading a sign, it is read aloud by a narrator with a pleasant voice. Impressive when you consider Oblvion's lack of voice-over variety.

There are various places that surprise you with things you don't expect for WRPGs like the need to do some platforming to access a switch. It seems like a big world with a lot to be discovered. Really looking forward to becoming a dragon but am enjoying the game quite a bit as it is. The game isn't excellent, not a must buy but definitely worth playing. There's a demo on XBL for those interested. The game is 360 only BTW.

Just bought Borderlands GOTY for about 17 euro the other day. Absolutely loving it! Much bigger world than it seems when you start, more areas just keep opening up. Decided to go with Mordecai, the bird isn't great at the start but become very useful when you level it up a bit. Very fun game and I don't even like shooters! I just love open-world RPGs .2011-05-08 13:13:00

-LBP2 (since I got internet on my house there's no week I don't check on LBP1/2)
-Borderlands, bought the GOTY edition last friday. Ah, the satisfaction of playing an awesome game we missed a couple years ago, for a relatively cheap price
-Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. Bought when I had my shopping spree during the great PSN sales and free month of PSN Plus.
-Under Siege: a simplified RTS game, the first PS3 game made in my country. I bought it to support Seed Studios (the lads have been at it for 3 years), but I'm progressing very slowly. The awesome map editor is the thing that has my interest though.

-Games I borrowed: Dragon Age 1 and 2, Bioshock 1 (finished) and 2, Darksiders (finished), Just Cause. I asked a friend for 2 games, and he borrows 6 of them. Of course I appreciate his kindness but in this last month I've been severely overwhelmed by the amount of things to play.

Getting lots of trophies at the mo, now have the Sly 2 Platinum . Fun game! Also, I now have Dark Souls, I think it's going to take me a while to get into it though. Don't really know where to go after you get to the sort of safe area but I'm sure the urge to explore the world will take over soon . I picked a Knight, I'm considering starting again and going with the Thief... I like playing as thieves.

EDIT: And another platinum, God of War 2 .

Been missin out on games so trying to play some mighty gems. I started Okami a little while back, it was kinda fun, although intro dragged out imo, and lots of cutscenes. It doesn't let you save whenever, or automatically save when you uit, which is alright, as long as there's a lot of save spots. It took me about an hour to get to the second one though, so I haven't really resumed playing it again just yet...

Anyway though, I started Arkahm Asylum around a week ago, I know I'm a bit late to the party, what with the seuel out now, but I got it free when pre-ordering City from Wal-Mart. I've been able to get through, mostly by myself, although I didd have to get a few bit sof help from the IGN walkthrough here and there I just played some last night, just need to finish final boss, and play the online challenges, then I'll jump onto City.

Other than that though, I do have Ico and SOTC PS3 HD Re-make collection waiting for me, which I'll have to get to sometime soon hopefully.

Was playing Skyrim but now waiting til they fix what they messed up in the patch. So playing Arkham City now. Such a great game .

Oh BTW, if anyone hasn't played Prince of Persia from 2008 (the kinda cel-shaded one), it's on the store for ?6.59 at the moment. DEFINITELY worth the money! I gave a pretty comprehensive review of it a good while ago and was probably a little harsh. It's a great game, beautiful with a good story, interesting characters and fun gameplay.

Also recommend Outland and Beyond Good & Evil for ?4.99 apiece. But I recommend Prince of Persia above them.

Finished Batman: Arkham City. It's a very fun game but not quite as good as Arkham Asylum, especially with regard to the story. It kind of suffers from Spider-man 3 syndrome, too many bad guys. Arkham Asylum was great because while there were a number of different enemies such as Killer Croc etc, there was one overall nemesis, ie the Joker. But in Arkham City it's not so clear cut and towards the end it gets a little bit muddled as to who's in charge and what's going on.

Still I'd recommend it as the gameplay is so much fun .

Castlevania : Symphony of the Night (PS1 classic played on PSP)
Uncharted 3
Infamous 2 : bought it two days ago, finished at infamous karma under normal difficulty.
I'll set the game to hard when I do the heroic one. I really like the twisted story of this game - and the ending is so good ! Though I recommend playing all the bad scenario before playing the good scenario. You just don't want to leave this game on this ending - it leaves a bad taste.

Quote from Voltaire (the singer, not the long-dead writer) :
"It gets so lonely, being evil. What I'dd do to see a smile. Even for a little while... And no one loves you when you're evil... I'm lying through my teeth, your tears are all the company I need."

As far as currently playing, I just got the Uncharted Dual Pack. First two games, and I'm currently on Drake's Fortune, 75 percent through.

It took a few mere hours to play 'JOURNEY', but then again, you don't PLAY 'JOURNEY', you experience it and live it, maybe share it. So many moments... so much depth... I can't actually believe this game was made. Filled with awe and wonder and reflection... it is an amazing journey.

I've played a lot of games. This was so much more than most. It's compact nature really impacts hard on the senses. Returning from it for the first time I am literally busting at the seams! I feel like I've had a past-life experience or a peyote instigated memory where petroglyphs came to life and chose me (ME!) to try to save the world.

I can't put my finger on it, but I feel I've somehow grown. Been imparted this great glimpse. Maybe it just reminds me of those crazy moments in the birth canal.

IDK. Maybe you should be your own judge, $14.99 PSN. ThatGAMEcompany. WOW.

Just finished getting the platinums in Jak 1, 2 & 3. Jak 2 was definitely the hardest. There are more orbs to collect in Jak 3 but you're rewarded way more for all of the racing challenges and there are more orb search missions so the amounts are pretty comparable. In terms of preference overall Jak 3>1>2. I just found Jak 2 really frustrating in a number of ways. The difficulty was quite high with some punishing spikes and you have to be constantly careful not to bump into one of the Krimson Guards. Jak 3 was much more fun.

Currently playing God of War Collection 2 (PS3) and Kingdoms of Amalur (360). Really enjoying both of them . The chakrams in Amalur are awesome!

Also, I just purchased the Sly Collection off Amazon yesterday, should be getting it real soon.

You'll be glad you did. They're fantastic! Got the platinum in 1 & 2. Then took a break. Will probably go back and finish off 3 soon .

@Burrich: Thanks. I really enjoyed Sly 1, and Sly 2 is by far one of my favorite games , making vast improvements upon the first. I can't wait to finish #2 and get onto #3. Also, I' super excited for Thieves in Time. By the way, would you recommend the Jak collection ?

By the way, would you recommend the Jak collection ?

Yes, without a doubt! They are fantastic games! Jak 3 is probably the best, thought Jak 1 comes a close second. Jak 2 is the longest but the most frustrating and difficult which really kills the fun factor at points. Also if you're planning on getting the platinum in 2 make sure to check a guide. There is one area near the end of the game you cannot return to after beating it. Anyway the characters are all great and they are very good HD updates.

Jak 3 seems short compared to 2 and it probably IS a little shorter but mostly I think that's because I had to restart missions in Jak 2 so many times while almost all of the missions in Jak 3 are beatable first time. Around 30 hours for the platinum in Jak 2, about 10-15 for Jak 3.

So in summary, yes, buy the collection. They are great games which have been updated well.

Oh okay. Is it okay if I play Jak 1, skip 2 and go for 3, and then come back for 2. What I mean is, is it necessary to play Jak 2 before Jak 3?2012-04-13 21:22:00

Play the Jak games in order. I admit that Jak II was sometimes unbalanced, but not enough for you to play the 3rd before the 2nd, plus you wouldn't understand half the story of the 3rd. In fact, you would understand more if you played 2 but not 1. So play 1st game, try to beat as much as you can before playing 2nd without a guide, then 3rd, then 2nd with a guide if you need to get the orbs. You see, with 12 weapons and 8 powers in Jak 3, Jak 2 becomes a bit lame with 4 guns and 2 powers. Jak 3 has a big replay-value with Hero mode though, while Jak II requires you to beat it 100% before getting hero mode.2012-04-17 02:47:00

Haha, I'm playing Skyrim too and even if my first game was ruined by the bad level system, I made a new one and it's waaaay better.

You see, each skill has an experience meter. When it is full, you win a level in this skill. After x amount of skill levels won, your global level grows up. The strength of enemies and the amount of strong enemies depend on the global level. This means that farming and leveling your non-fighting skills will make the game harder. Train crafting at the start of the game and you'll be faced with strong foes while you suck at fighting. This is why you should first upgrade either your one hand, two hand, armor or bow skills first. When you have spent around 3 points in the fighting ability you like, you'll be able to look at secondary stuff.

In my first game, I wanted to make a thief, but I realized that most of the missions require fighting more than lurking, and that 1-shot hits with a bow isn't going to happen from the start. My character could hide, heal and knew a hundred poison recipes, but was plainly weak. Now I spent 3 points in one handed weapons and I can 1-shot kill zombies with luck. This game is very good, but just remember that the level-up isn't smart.

EDIT:

I just bought Skullgirls, a hard and fast 2D fighting game. I gotta say, for a newbie in that style, this game is increadibly hard. Sad, since it said it was made to be for hardcore fighter as well as for casual players. But after playing most of the tutorials and practicing a bit, I managed to end the story mode of Cerebella in easy mode in a night. I'dd say difficulty mostly affects how ofter the enemy blocks your attacks.

I also bought Catherine, a unique mix of puzzle-action-platforming with some dating sim roleplay. Vincent's girlfriend wants to thighten the knot, but Vincent just woke up next to a stranger. Who will you chose, Catherine or Katherine? Careful, it cheating is bad luck, and there seems to be a curse on the men cheating... They have weird nightmares and if they die in them, they never wake up. A very challenging game, I recommand playing on normal and change to easy only when you really can't do it. The game's a bit short, but it has a good replay-value, and an unlockable multiplayer challenge mode.

Completed the Jak HD Collection.
Platinum on Precursor Legacy
Only missing some precursor orbs on the other two.

The Nostalgia! (And the fact that I can now finish Jak 2, allowing me to play Jak 3)

@Jedi: Funny you should say that. Just got Jak & Daxter Collection last week, since I never got to play the serie.s (along with Sly and Ratchet, and any other PS2 game) I'm a little over halfway through the Precursor Legacy, and it's great. The intro scene felt a tad bit rushed, but it's great. Lots of fun trying to collect precursor eggs and power cells.

Although when you go back to Misty Island, get past that little arena, and get to the top of this tower controlling the cannon, you can try hitting these crates which have precursor eggs. I can hit some of them, but can never quite get the two on the right, the ones furthest away. I've tried and tried, moving the cannon's direction in all sorts of ways but can never break those crates.

You got Darksiders platinum? But there's one trophy that's walk (insert large distance which I can't remember here) miles and when I had collected around 95% of the collectible stuff I had only travelled around 25% of that distance. How do you do it, man?

One of them was travel 100 miles on Ruin (the horse). Just run around in circles on Ruin or use an elastic band/tie a USB wire around the control pulling the analogue stick to the left or right and leave it for an hour or two... or three. Kinda cheating but it's a ridiculous trophy that you have to grind... can't imagine anyone would unlock it without grinding.

EDIT: Currently trying to get the Trine platinum. It's a good game but something about it annoys me... I can't quite figure out what though.

Have most of the trophies. Just very hard mode and the "Better than the Devs" trophies to go. Kinda cool for a PSN game to have a platinum .

EDIT 2: Platinum 21 .

EDIT 3: Platinum 22. Trine 2... quite an unsatisfying platinum to be honest. All of the trophies would be bronze in any other game but in this they were all gold with one silver. It's a fun game and better that the first in ways but the platinum is way too easy. You can get the platinum when halfway through the game!

Heh been doing the same . Crushing mode wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Just one trophy to go, play 1 Co-op game online. Feel free to add me if ya feel like playing a match on Wednesday. Internet is down at the moment, using mobile internet to post this.

So yeah been playing Uncharted 2 and some SSX. Taking me a while to get used to SSX. Also downloaded Desura and been playing a few demos and free indie games . Oh and took down Colossi 3-6 in Shadow of the Colossus. Such a great game... little bit of a slow-burner but stick at it and you'll remember why you loved it in the first place .

Now that the Wii is working again, I decided to purchase Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I still haven't played multiplayer though, just the story, and it's kinda turned me off for a few days. Maybe I'm just being mean, but I wasn't a fan of the levels or the cutscenes, but I think multiplayer should provide lots of fun. Because I recently got a DS Lite again, after selling an old one a while back (still not sure why I sold my original one) and playing through Pokemon Soul Silver, and it's great. It's kind of annoying how I don't get Fly until the 5th or 6th Gym Leader though, and I am not a fan of the Cell Phone system. at first I thought it was a fine idea, and it's a good way to get messages, but I remember accepting all these CPUs I had beaten to be able to call me. See, I thought they had valuable information, but it feels like 90 percent of them just spam me, so now I try rejecting any CPU that wants my number, except for one every once in a while, as they actually seem like they'd provide valuable information. Thankfully, those who I'm forced to exchange numbers with actually provide valuable information, such as Professor Oak, Professor Elm and Mom.

I think it wouldn't be as big of a deal if I could actually delete the contacts, or at least draw notes for certain ones with the stylu.s (kinda like drawing notes on the map in TLOZ: Phantom Hourglass) That way I'd know which contacts to ignore, and which to respond to, as there are a few CPUs worth picking up for. While the pokemon might be better overall than those in Generation 4, I definitely prefer Diamond and Pearl's way of handling things, with a multiplayer function that sound a lot better than B&W, and doesn't have the drasted phone call system of HG&SS.

I plan to eventually grab Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Donkey Kong Country Returns though. The Galaxy games seem to have some great 3d platforming segments and DKCR looks absolutely stunning. As for the DS, I think I'm going to pick up TLOZ: Spirit Tracks, and maybe try out the Professor Layton series.

Assassins Creed Revelations - Still a good series but I can definitly feel franchise fatigue kicking in hopefully 3 will bring some freshness.

Saints Row 2 - Its early days with this but so far I feel like they should have scrapped the story and just made a collection of fun things to do in an open world.

Chime Super Delux - bit boring in single player but great in vs mode.

Hamster Ball - Filled a few hours nothing special really.

Despite swearing off the 360 after my account was hacked, MS points stolen and had no luck with MS support, my housemate convinced me to buy minecraft on 360. Hadn't played it on PC at all, but it's a lot of fun .

Also playing Shadow of the Colossus on PS3. Great game though it doesn't quite capture the magic of experiencing it for the first time.

Platted Assassins Creed revelations (#55) The Lost Archive DLC adds a bit to the backstory and about 2 hours of gameplay but is only worth it if its free as part of the Ottoman edition. If you're paying full price off the store you'll probably feel robbed.

Virtua Fighter - 5 Final Showdown dumb button mashing on this isn't anywhere near as fun as it is on Street Fighter.

Motorstorm Apocalypse - racing isn't one of my favourite genres but I'll give it a go if its "free".

Mushroom Wars - Crap sums it up fairly well.

The games I'm currently playing now are not just both LBP2 and LBPK beta, but here are the following:

Worms 2: Armageddon- I bought it on PSN when it was on sale. It's as enjoyable as the previous "Worms" downloadable game.

Skyrim- I haven't play it since before I went to LBPK GameJam, but I'll be back playing it soon.

Kid Icarus: Uprising- Brilliant game thanks to outstanding graphics, classical soundtrack, comical dialogue, great gameplay, and awesome multiplayer.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded- I need to go through this game before I go for the 3DS one.

And some game apps on my iPod Touch.

i just finished new super mario bros 2. now trying to get 1 million coins. anyone had a gold flower in the inventory and used it for final boss? i defeated bowser normal form in 1 shot with it XD. turns out if you shoot him with it, you earn 50 coins already. not alot in this game cause you collect thousands of coins in 1 level but still.

Finally picked up Infamous 2. The story's great so far, as are the characters and their dialogue. I was a bit skeptical of all the preview images of the kooky monsters, but I'm fine with them seeing them in action now. Really liking the music and city too, even though the map was a bit mind boggling at first, compared to the original's more simplistic way of showing things.

All in all, they're both different games, and even though Infamous 2 has a fresher coat of paint, as well as much higher quality cutscenes, I loved Infamous 1 for so many reasons, and still do. They're both simply awesome, and I can't wait to fully tackle the sequel, and see what Sucker Punch has got planned next. ^^

Oh, well, seeing as how I didn't post this already....

Beat Infamous 2 a couple weeks ago. Overall, great story, and both endings are great and interesting. I'm not sure what people's input was on the enemies themselves, but I personally loved them, especially the Ice Men. Their name may not be the most unique, but who cares. I loved the design of their suits and masks, and really liked their South African accents providing commentary in the firefights. I know I mentioned in my last post here as to being fine with the wild monsters thrown out there, although after beating the game, I'm not a big fan of one in particular. The biggest type of ice monster, when you reveal his face, I just thought seeing that messed up human-esque face made the monster feel a bit underwhelming, if that makes any sense. Either way, just a little complaint, thought I'd throw it out there.

But yeah, when I referred to 'cutscenes' in my last post here, I actually meant the pre-rendered stuff (saying that to avoid confusion). I thought they looked way better that Infamous 1's cutscenes, which seem to follow a similar way of handling cutscenes for Sly 2 and Sly 3, while Infamous 2 gives little movies at all kinds of angles (if that makes any sense). I thought the gap between the animated cutscene, "Bertrand's secret" and "Exposing Bertrand" was too long, and overall I preferred Infamous 1's animated cutscenes, but that's fine too. I think they were more wild with Infamous 1's animated cutscenes, throwing in paint splotches galore and all kinds of effects, while Infamous 2 looks a bit more clean-cut, which is nice, but you can't beat the ones from Infamous 1, I guess.

Anyway though, I already ordered Donkey Kong Country Returns. Can't wait to give it a try.

Still playing LBP2 (making a level), "Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded", and "Kid Icarus Uprising" (now going for certain treasure hunts), plus I'm back to playing "Skyrim" a few weeks ago. I played the high-definition version of "Ico" again, but this time I collected three additional gold trophies. One of them is for completing the game without seeing a "Game Over" screen. The other two are finishing it within four hours, and give a watermelon to Yorda. While playing "Kid Icarus: Uprising", I thought I gave the first "Kid Icarus" game a second chance. I bought it on Wii Virtual Console a long time ago, but I couldn't beat the first level so I gave up. However, I already beat the whole game this week, and it surprisingly got easier as I processed through it. Looks like I managed beat all the levels in both the 8-bit and the epic 3DS of Pit's adventures.2012-09-15 02:28:00

I've heard awesome things about Kid Icarus: Uprising. Even though I don't have a 3DS, I might eventually get one. I've heard a few complaints about some of the controls, although I guess opinions vary. What did you think of it overall, is it worth the price?

In other news, DKCR came a few days ago and I just started playing last night, and continued this morning. Fantastic game so far, the visuals are beautiful and there's so much greatness about it. Labelling 'Nintendo' on Diddy's hat would fall under an annoying little nitpick of mine, but that's very small. I've only beaten the Jungle world and the beginning of the Beach world, but the cannon blast areas are interesting and can get pretty complicated, and the bonus silhouette level is beautiful. Diddy's a great sort of power-up, and the rhino you rode was awesome. Oh, and the level previewed on the menu screen look beautifully crafted. o-o

At the start of the game, the use of stylus takes about ten minutes to get use to, but it becomes a lot of fun. Heh, the few players you mentioned must have never use a stylus before. Overall, it's a brilliant game thanks to great graphics, sound, story, gameplay, multiplayer, and humorous dialogues. Yes, it is worth a price to buy when you own a 3DS, along with "Mario Kart 7", "Zelda, Ocarina of Time 3D", "Super Mario 3D Land", and "Starfox 64 3D".

I agree with you about "Donkey Kong Country Returns", it is a fantastic game, even though I beat the whole game already a year and a half ago.

You pretty much just listed all the games that has been convincing me to get a 3ds. xD (except for Star Fox 64, still need to look into that) Luigi's Mansion 2, Professor Layton: Miracle Mask and Paper Mario: Sticker Star all look great as well. The 3ds is getting quite the arsenal of games to get. :]

Even though I have hours upon hours to spend with my new best friend DKCR, I'll probably try to finally get into the Professor Layton series by buying the first installment, Curious Village, some time this month. I'm sure it'll be swell for the mobile side of gaming for me.

Started a new game of Crash Bandicoot 1 the other day out of boredom, just completed it to 100% for the first time ever after like 12 years, so proud of myself right now 2012-09-26 17:18:00

Borderlands 2.

I spend half the game in menus. Ugh.
A bazillon guns, 12 inventory slots. wth.
And you have to pick a weapon up in order to compare it?
Terrible UI imo.

Maybe I'm getting too old for this.

You can buy more inventory slots with eridium from the black market, I now have 28, I think.

You don't have to pick up a weapon to compare it, its stats are displayed above it and your current weapon's stats are displayed at the bottom right above your ammo count. There are also the arrows showing whether each stat is higher or lower than your current weapon.

I've been playing some of the old Zelda handhelds (Oracle series, Minish Cap) and surprisingly good doesn't begin to describe them. They're ten times better than Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks combined. It's actually quite amazing what they did considering the limitations of the systems. Old Nintendo > New Nintendo.2012-10-13 05:39:00

I've been really getting into OpenTTD (http://www.openttd.org/en/), I have my own dedicated server running 24/7 and it's fun to get a load of money as quick as possible, playing around others doing the same.

I also completed Pokemon Black 2 and I'm replaying it in Challange Mode. It's genuinely challenging, I love it.

And my friend lent me his PSVita with LBPVita in, so that's fun

I'm still playing LBP2 (making a level), and "Skyrim" (completed 'The Fallen' main quest and reached level 53). Earlier, I played a 3DS game "Steel Diver" and it's a pretty good game. It's not as great as the 3D games I mentioned in my previous post. But controlling the submarine is fun, and the 3D effects are neat. As one of the ambassadors of 3DS, I'm playing one of the Gameboy Advance I downloaded for free "Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stone". It's an amazing RPG game, despite that I easily lost a few units and I can't get them back. And I bought "Angry Birds: Star Wars" yesterday in my iPod Touch. The latest of the bird-shooting series is a lot better than I expected all thanks to new ideas and nice crossover. I'm expecting LBPK to be delivered to my mail soon, so looking forward to play it when it arrives.2012-11-10 17:31:00

Bought a Vita, pounced on the Assassin's Creed deal on amazon.com when it was on.

Platinumed Gravity Rush (fantastic game, with wonderful gameplay mechanics, really looking forward to the probably sequel), got all the trophies in the mutant blob game (very fun, polished, very satisfying ending and fine-tuned gameplay). Currently playing Uncharted (God I love PS+) and Assassin's Creed.

Uncharted is decent although more restricted in terms of level design with many object appearing to be climbable which aren't. Also some of the mechanics have just been shoe-horned into the game to make use of the Vita's features. The wiping dirt off random objects is ridiculous. And the balancing when going across a log unfortunately makes a return. It's a beautiful looking game though.

Assassin's Creed is again decent. It plays well but I really don't like the restriction that the costumes system places on you. When in the fancy clothes you are unable to climb even the smallest ledge... though you can still swim strangely enough. I like the idea of costumes but some of them place too many restrictions and are just plain awkward.

Haze wasn't that bad, I enjoyed it. Did play it co-op mind you, always makes these things much more fun.

Just started Infamous 2 & Lego Lord of the Rings. Also part way through the legendary Dark Souls.

Dark Souls. Lots and lots of Dark Souls. XD I've been playing it a lot ever since it was released. But I've also been playing some LBP2, Need for Speed Most Wanted, and Starhawk.2012-12-08 18:37:00

When not refinishing Borderlands 2 again and again, I like to play Resident Evil 6 and wish it was a little more Resident Evil and a little less Call of Duty, still all good though.2012-12-12 12:27:00

Finally got Assassin's Creed 3 in the mail (I preordered it, but when I still wasn't getting it 3 weeks after release, I contacted the retailer and so it turned out that the entire stock was stolen, and they never told us! WTH!) I quite enjoyed the first part already, but I haven't had much time to play it yet.2012-12-14 08:04:00

Along with LBP2, Borderlands 2, I've been playing The Walking Dead game. Just finished episode 2. Anyone else played it? I'd highly recommend it.2012-12-14 13:59:00

Along with LBP2, Borderlands 2, I've been playing The Walking Dead game. Just finished episode 2. Anyone else played it? I'd highly recommend it.

Is it really worth the money like everyone says? I don't play many episodic games, but I did play the first episode of another series by TellTale, the Monkey Island series, on my iphone. It was free, so it didn't matter, but it could be beaten in 10 minutes flat , and was just one scene on a boat, with practically no exploration. Granted, the first episode could've meant to be the shortest since it was free, but I certainly wouldn't pay for experiences THAT short (no offence, and yeah, yeah, I know. It's a mobile series, which doesn't make a great example). So how long does each episode of the Walking Dead series last, then? It doesn't have to be that long since they all balance out together in the end, if not already, although I'm fine if it follows"quality over quantity."

------------------------------------------------------

Besides that though, that backlog is gigantic. I can't for the life of me find the PS3, but when I do, I'll be continuing Rayman Origins, (which I only just begun) pop open the "Ratchet and Clank Collection", (starting with the first installment) go through the demo for "Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time" that came with R&C, and install the 25 minute demo for "Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch."

While the PS3 has been hiding, I've had a blast with the Wii. Since most of the Wii's lifespan for me was okay games and those Mii-related games. Earlier this year, I found true gems like DKCR, which I still gotta beat, and Super Mario Galaxy, which I've got a wee bit left to do. I've sort of been distracted by them though after purchasing "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption," which is absolutely stellar. The original disc got scratched up so I had to buy it again off the internet, and man is it great. I love that Metroid Prime isn't like most shooters, and has a variety of things to do, like blasting enemies in FPS mode, solve puzzles in third-person morphball mode, or scan everything around you for cool, and sometimes, useful information. Motion controls are good, although grappling and some of the unlocking mechanics are a little tedious at times, but those are just baby complaints, and by no means does it muddle the experience.

Since I have the original Wii model, I was hoping to play Prime 1 and 2, (since I got them both a long, long time ago, as part of a combo pack) but I forgot that I need some sort of SD Card. Requiring that and not having motion controls like Prime 3 really makes me wish I could've snatched up the Metroid Prime Collection before it went Collector's item on everyone. Ah well.

Went back to Armored Core 5 in the last couple of days, I love it! Gameplay is so much fun, and even better in co-op, great stuff!
Finished inFAMOUS 2, and deciding if I will replay it on hard. Was really good fun I have to say, and had a pretty cool ending.

Paper Mario Sticker Star on my 3DS. My first Paper Mario. It's such an easy game to play and the pacing is so good. I've been going back and forth constantly so after seven hours I've only completed almost two whole worlds.2012-12-16 11:05:00
