Hey, just wanted to say I had a great time at the meet, and it was great meeting all of you too! Also, I want to give a special thanks to Spaff, and Johnee for taking the time to come out and show us everything.2011-08-01 13:27:00

I have awoken from my sleep-deprivation-induced mini coma!

I just want to thank everyone for coming out this weekend to kick back and have some LittleBigFun. I had a blast getting to know everyone! Everyone was very respectful of other people's hardware, which was nice. We did have a few things get left behind, though...

Bagheadinc left a powerstrip, and we ended up with an unlabeled PSeye. I'm not sure who ended up with it (as I left a little early).

Also, apologies to anyone who was standing by waiting for livestream footage. We had all sorts of planned video stuffs for the weekend, but the wi-fi in the suite was totally hit-or-miss. One attendee, benjamni, had his camera going all weekend, so we should be seeing some footage of the event shortly!

I hope everyone makes it home safely and eventually catches up on their sleep! Thanks again!

I had a great time at the Meet. The contests were fun, demoing the Move Pack was alot of fun and watching how the single player levels were made was very infomative. It would definitely not of been the same without Johnee and Spaff being there. 2011-08-01 15:25:00

Hmm, the PSeye might be mine. I brought one that I didn't use, so I didn't bother to label it. I remember taking it out of my bag while packing up my gear, but I don't remember unpacking it at home. I'll double check tonight.

And yeah, the meet was a blast!

Very cool putting names to faces. And Goober was a beast at the Brain Crane Pain Game. (Though I 'spect Johnee will be back some day to destroy him online...)

The Move demos made me excited about motion controls in a way I haven't been up to this point.

I'm glad Baghead talked me into attending. The moment a man placed his butt between me and the tv I was using so he could talk to Morgana was one I will treasure forever.2011-08-01 17:27:00

I had such a great time!

Thanks to Lock and comph for the amazing organization of this event and to all the donators to make it happen. I wish everyone could have been there as well as had a working live feed, so it seems the best laid plans still rate a call to the help desk! lol

Anyway.. it was wonderful finally meeting everyone and a special shout out to Spaff and Johnee (the other jw!). So nice of you both to show such support for the community to travel over and join us. That was quite a treat. Everyone that attended was all so amazing that with us being on the 11th and top floor, I have to think the top of the hotel glowed quite brightly for a few days. Regardless, I know my heart will be glowing with fond memories for a lifetime.

<3 :star: Thanks to you all! :star:<3

I know!!! ..well, we did get johnee shirtless when he finally lost to Goober. The next day we got him shirtless again when Lockstitch smacked him with a 3 foot leftover sandwich. I mean come on!! That should count for something right!?!?

Had a great time (except for the dogs and the elevators!!) . It was nice to meet so many creative, intelligent people. Special thx to Spaff and Johnee from MM. Your love and enthusiasm for this game comes across and we all have it. The potential for this game always astounds. The early footage was a hoot. Special special thx to gamegirl523 aka secondamerican for being the best playmare a guy could ask for.2011-08-01 23:57:00

Ohhhhh..Stilts......LOL....an inside joke!!! Love it...

OK...so I'm back for my recap.

First, Thanks to Lockstich and Comphermc for arranging this epic event. Lock, you were so organized and level headed even when everyone else was ......oh wait, everyone was cool. From the original posts, I expected more drunk and disorderly, but nope, everyone was really nice and dedicated to that game we call LBP. Comph, (if I may call you that) I still cannot understand ANYone wanting to punch you at all. You are a remarkable person and probably the best creator I know. LOTS of second places, but lets face it...He is the master of the challenging creations!!

Confused Cartman, you totally took me by surprise. I thought you were a MUCH older person simply by the fact that you manage this website. You are a remarkable person and I have even more respect for you after meeting you. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Now, please remove that infraction from my history!! I was new and did not know I was doing anything wrong!!

Morganna, wonderful to meet you!!! It was good to see you busy creating the next level for our enjoyment. Good luck in your future endeavors.

JWW....what can I say, great to meet you!! Nice to know we are not alone! Thanks for watching me play my friend Vandz's level. I hope you spotlight him when the backlog is caught up.

Bagheadinc....GREAT to meet you!! I am still glad I voted for you to win the last Survivor Season. You are just as nice in person as you were in the game. Ashton, nice to meet you too. I hope your trip back was good.

Calystaayla...REALLY great to chat with you. You are a remarkable woman and I learned many new things from you. Good luck in your trip back to the UK.

Calptonfan, Coyote Blue, Babyface, BlueBulletBill, Mrsupercomputer, pookachoo, it was great meeting all of you. There was one more person I shared alot of conversation with, but sorry to say I have forgotten your name. You wore a fedora hat. Thanks for the wonderful conversations we had. EDIT:::::: VEX...how could I forget???

Kabird, you asked me to say HI to Spaff for you and I did....He said Hi back!!

OK, and now...THANKS Spaff and Johnee for coming all the way over and making the event totally memorable. You two were definitively the spotlight of the meet. You were both just such down to earth wonderful people. It was great to meet you. I want to thank MM again for making such a wonderful game for all of us to play!! AND it was wonderful to know you are all still hard at work preparing even more fun for all of us. Thanks for bringing the demos for us to play, even though the controllers ran out of power as soon as Stilts and I got our turn to try it......LOL....we enjoyed what we saw and can't wait to try it at home!!

I think that's it.

They are on that same page. Some are stills and some are video. Just avoid the slideshow and you should be able to see the play icon on the vids (or at least, that was my experience).

My son (complex144) and I wanted to say thanks for a great weekend. When we got home, the first thing we did was purchase another copy of LBP2 for the house, so we could both play at the same time! We probably really need 3 copies, but the madness has to stop somewhere...

This was our first experience at such an event and we both thought it went off rather well. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this happen. I think we both really enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes stuff the most. It was great to be able to see story levels in edit mode and of course get to see and play with the move in LBP. I have to tell you that we?ve had the move since the beginning and it's been a worthless doorstop to date. However, from what I've seen this past weekend, it will be a real difference maker for LBP real soon?

I wish I could have spent more time with everyone to see what you were up to and to get to know you better, but I was MIA quite a bit because I felt like total crap the whole weekend and still do! I?m hopeful I can still reach out to a few of you in the future and see what you?re up to. My son and I would gladly help anyone at the meetup with level/play testing anytime....just give us a shout.

This. I think the coolest thing about this was seeing how many different kinds of people get excited about LBP. I was also glad to engage with people who made any attempt to "work the room", which you did more of than you give yourself credit for. Having Mm there definitely gave structure to the gig, as well.

I'm back home again after a long drive, and now that I'm back with my laptop (oh, how I missed you) it's time for a really long post of contest info, prizes, and thank you's.

Contests and Prizes:

There were many contests at the Meet, and many of the attendees went home with some prizes and souvenirs. These prizes include: Lots of posters, Sackboy figurines, a LBP mug, LBP towels, johneeee's T-Shirt, Sackboy plushies, Mm signed copies of LBP GOTY Edition, stickers, whatever Spaff and johneeee happened to sign while there. I think that's all of em. In addition, everyone who went to the Meet will get a special LBP Event Pin for their profile when the Move Pack update is released.

Now I shall list all the contests I know that happened at the Meet. I will let the winners announce themselves:

Weekend Long Contests:

-The Minigame Contest

-Time: From beginning of the Meet to around 8:00 am Sunday

-Details: In this contest, each person had to create their own minigame during the Meet. The best minigame(s) would earn prizes at the end of the Meet. I don't remember what these prizes were, exactly, but all minigames created earned a prize.

-My Entry: I only created one small peice of the level before I lost interest and went to do some of the other challenges.

-The Highscore Challenges

-Time: Same as the Minigame one.

-Details: In this challenge, attendees had to compete for the highest score in one of 2 levels: Vintage Motion by LFiers and Roller INK 2 by comphermc. The attendees with the highest score on either one of these at the end of the Meet gets the prize. Due to the fact that the scoreboards were down, each high score had to be shown to Lockstitch or comphermc to be confirmed.

-My Entry: I got the highest score on Vintage Motion at 7369 (I think). I got a Mm signed copy of LBP GOTY Edition (and I got the History and Monster costume kits out of it).

-Rocked Funland: Advanced Tournament

-Time: Started sometime on Saterday. The prizes were given out on Sunday morning.

-Details: I'm pretty sure you all know of Rocket Funland from the Story Mode. You get a helmet and shoot other people in a small arena and all that. Well, comphermc made an advanced version just for the Meet, with power-ups, a larger course, crowds, awesomeness. This tournament took place on this course, and was all put onto a bracket, with 5 Rounds of competition, and the last person standing wins.

-My Entry: I made it to the semi-finals before I was pwned by milton2x.

Non-weekend long Contests:

-The Battle for johneeee's LittleBigTeam Shirt

-Time: Started sometime on Saterday.

-Details: Molecule's johneeee and Spaff brought along the Move version of LBP2 when they came to the Meet, and gave us a showing, and allowed us to mess around with it for the weekend. On Saterday, shortly after the end of the tournament, johneeee declared a challenge: The first person to beat him on the Move verses level Brain Crane Pain Game would get the shirt he was wearing right off his back. johneeee designed the level, and beat every person who tried at least once.

-My Entry: After many tries, returning to the line to try again and again, and accumlating a lot of sweat in the process, I managed to beat johneeee by about 20 points (each bomb hit = 10 points). He then proceeded to remove his shirt in the room.

Note: Johneeee removes his shirt again in the Sandwitch Disposal video, which, unfortunitly, I didn't attend (or even know about it till I looked at it lol). D:

-The Plate Art Contest

-Time: Started around 11:00 PM Saterday night. Lasted 30 minutes.

-Details: Paper plates. They are awesome. You don't have to wash them. You can do anything with them, including drawing on them. That's exactly what we did. The goal was to draw some LBP art on a paper plate using a pen. The best drawing voted by the judges got prizes.

-My Entry: I made a plate depicting my battle with johneeee, with the words "Bring the carnage!!!" written below it. My drawings are not the best lol

-The Music Sequencer Contest

-Time: Started around 11:30 PM Saterday night. Lasted an hour.

-Details: After we did our plate art, the next contest involved making music using the music sequencer. The same judges of the last contest judged this contest. Every song was heard by everyone.

-My Entry: Having very little prior experiance to the music sequencer, I simply completed a little song-like thing I made prior to the meet for something else. Other people were much more prepared then I was.

-The Trivia Contest

-Time: Started around 1:00 AM Sunday morning. Ended around 2:00 AM.

-Details: Paper plates have more uses beyond drawings. You can also write answers to trivia on them. Spaff and johneeee hosted an LBP trivia contest involving trivial questions of the senseless and memory related subjects.

-My Entry: I didn't win. That's all I can remember due to the fact I was dead tired.

Other Awards:

-Longest Traveled: Given to the person who took the longest journey to St. Louis.

-The Camera Man Award: Given to the person who lugged around a camera all weekend in order to get everything on video.

-TSFRJ's Sack Plushie Toss: TSFRJ tossed 3 Sackboy plushies to random attendees who didn't already have a prize.

That's all the challenges I can remember. I'm pretty sure everyone is enjoying their prizes and souvenirs from the Meet. I know I am.

Goober's Thank You's:

Now is the time when I can thank those who helped make this meet memorable for me. Let me first say, I wasn't the most social of the attendees. I think the fact that, for most of the meet, I was youngest attendee present made it much harder to talk and play with everyone else. Nevertheless, I had lots of fun, and I hope to attend the next meet that happens to be held in the US.

Now for the thank you's:

-I'd like to thank Lockstitch and comphermc for putting all this together and making this a fun time. I know it took a lot of time to get this all set up, so thank you for your efforts, and making the most awesome community meet ever.

-Another thanks going out to johneeee and Spaff. The Meet would not have been the same without you guys over there. Thanks for showing us the Move pack and letting us play with it for the weekend, and for showing us the very early version of LBP that will give me nightmares for weeks. You guys were just loads of fun thoughout the meet, and gave the meet that official feel to it. It was nice to get an extra adios to you guys yesterday, and hope I'll get to meet you guys again someday. An additional thanks to johneeee, for letting me battle him in his level and letting me have his awesome shirt.

-Thanks to Vex_Doppel for letting me wear his crown. Now if it would've stayed on my head. XD

-Thanks to Toykyomegaplex for making the very detailed drawing of the Negativitron. It was awesome.

-Thanks to Benjamni for lugging the camera around all weekend. I look forward to seeing the results of your videos.

-Thanks to BabyfaceJM for being a good sport and competitor, for battling me on Brain Crane Pain Game, and for beating up johneeee quite a bit in that game.

-Finally, thanks to everyone for helping make this awesome meet possible.

My long post is over now.

Great event guys, I had a blast.

Thanks to comphermc and Lockstitch for putting this event together. You guys were great hosts. Thanks to confusedcartman for running this great site.

Spaff and Johnee, you guys rocked. From playing LBP to watching Futurama to BBQ and drinks. It was a blast. Cheers.

Goober1823, your missing one event. Creating the Tower of Spaff. I got awarded for that lol. They signed one of TSFRJ's figurines and gave that to me. Which was pretty cool cause its a pretty sweet figurine.

Speaking of the Tower of Spaff. I'm still working hard on that.

I enjoyed meeting all of you.
Calyst_Aayla, Thanks for making me one of your custom costumes.
comphermc, thanks for the creation pointers and showing off some of your recent creations.
Fodawin, thanks for helping me load up my TV. I hope you slept well during the meet.
Thank you to everyone for lending your faces to my level. Its quite the collage of sackpeople.
Coyote_Blue, was great meeting one of the Wizened Sackmates in person. You should host a WSM meet-up haha.
Baghead, thanks for all the help. It was nice meeting you.
TSFRJ, thanks for bringing them figurines and handing them out. Very cool of you.
I hope everyone who wanted to wear the crown got to. I plan on sending it in to MM for them to enjoy.
I should have some pictuers posted here soon. Sometime within the week.

Seems like I might be forgetting someone...Gamergirl523 haha, was nice talking to you too.

Friday: "Inspirational Pub Crawl" and Weirdo Lookee-Loos, Bisbee AZ
Saturday: AM, Mountain Wilderness Adventure - which, depending on location in these parts, can either involve firing range, spelunking, hiking, or birdwatching. PM, drunken Create Mode seminars.
Sunday: Wine Country. I'll rent a van and hire a DD.

Deal's off if I can't get enough foreigners to come to the desert.

Thanks for recounting everyone... I'm so happy and proud of you all!

Really wish you could have joined us my friend. You were sorely missed. Hope all is well and don't be a stranger! ..being strange is ok though. Actually a requirement.

" Friday: "Inspirational Pub Crawl" and Weirdo Lookee-Loos, Bisbee AZSaturday: AM, Mountain Wilderness Adventure - which, depending on location in these parts, can either involve firing range, spelunking, hiking, or birdwatching. PM, drunken Create Mode seminars.Sunday: Wine Country. I'll rent a van and hire a DD.Deal's off if I can't get enough foreigners to come to the desert."

@coyote_blue im down for such an adventure. when and where

"-The Music Sequencer Contest-Time: Started around 11:30 PM Saterday night. Lasted an hour.-Details: After we did our plate art, the next contest involved making music using the music sequencer. The same judges of the last contest judged this contest. Every song was heard by everyone.-My Entry: Having very little prior experiance to the music sequencer, I simply completed a little song-like thing I made prior to the meet for something else. Other people were much more prepared then I was."

@everyone who may think their musical talent is no good...i entered this competition w/enough experience with the music sequencer to be able to tell you that it was in fact a music sequencer and light musical talent in real life. in an hours time. i found johnee and everybody else who listened to my 1st ever piece of lbp music bumping their heads to the beats and rhythms of my song. after deliberation (i think it was close between myself and coyotes piece) I won a mug. it was soo exciting.

@goober. you forgot 1 more prize. least amount of sleep! i won this aswell lol felt good to finally pass out on tuesday.

Where do you find those minifigures anyway? ...just curious. Even the larger ones were cool. Quite a few I hadn't seen before.

Where do you get all that stuff?

I have a question, not sure if it's already been asked but I'm curious to know if whether those that attended called each other by their real life name or PSN/LBPC name? 2011-08-05 18:24:00

I preferred using the PSN/LBPC names in favor of real ones, partly because they're more ingrained in my memory and come more naturally. Some people I knew their real names, some I learned by going to the meet, and some I've forgotten by this point XD

I went into the meet planning to take a ton of pictures, but left with only a handful. The pics I have aren't that different than the ones already posted, except for this one:
