This Friday. Rarity's going to be kidnapped (or so I believe) and will be forced to find diamonds and other gems for the Diamond Dogs.

I'm pretty interested to see how Lauren will incorporate a moral for that episode.


Let's see now, most likely, not kidnapped, but maybe Rarity wants them to like her, so trying to impress them, she does whatever they want so they make her find dimonds for them, moral most likely being that if they only want you because you give them stuff, they're not really friends.

Just a guess.

EDIT: I'm going with Zim on this one. The first episode got me hooked to the show, mainly because all the major characters appeared on that one. While I do get annoyed with the cheesy ending and song (both intro and Pinkie's note), I highly recommend you watch that one to familiar with the show and characters.

Princess Luna has not appeared for the same reason she became evil; She was ignored by everyone, her sister overshadows her (ironically ) and nobody cared about her or her role anymore after a while, since Princess Celesta controls day and night now anyways.

Yeah, it wasn't that bad. Watched the first few episodes (You're brilliant, Mrs. Faust, but i cannot forgive the moon/foal puns) and overall it seemed to be a pretty solid show. Reminds me of my childhood. Even then, I did have to look up some videos about explosions and rock bands, because I'm insecure like that 8D

I thought it was pretty good. While I didn't like the fact it was a bit too "girly" (then again, it was meant for girls) I still enjoyed the lesson at the end. That and Pinkie Pie's omniscient view on Twilight.

You do realize they said they made that show kind of as a tribute to try and mimic the same style as cartoons like the ones made by MLP's creator, et Invader Zim, so, that may be a why they look alike. xD

Purple Tinker over on Deviant Art got the OK to create actual USPS Stamps with Derpy Hooves on them. Now all we need to do is convince the postal service to ditch that lame bald eagle and plaster our favorite wall eyed Pegasus on the side of their car..thingys.

Hey everypony. My prototype order of DerpyMail USPS (US Postal Service) custom stamps has been APPROVED and is presently being printed! These stamps look like this:

Yes, these are going to be REAL USPS STAMPS that you could use for ACTUAL REAL LIFE MAIL! I am pondering replacing the design with one in which Derpy is wearing saddlebags and has a piece of mail in her mouth, though otherwise the basic design will remain the same.

These stamps cost a LOT less when ordered in bulk. (You never just pay the face value of the stamps for these custom jobs.) I am therefore coordinating a LARGE DerpyMail stamp order. Which stamps I order are up to the community:

Option ONE: Bulk order of 140 stamps total) of standard 6oz Large Envelope stamps ($1.73 each) at $2.11 per $1.73 stamp.
Option TWO: Bulk order of 240 stamps total) of standard 3oz Letter stamps ($0.78 each) at $1.19 per $0.78 stamp.

Lovely episode, though, I noticed a few strange elements, some of disappearance of characters (though that may only have been me who did not notice then) and the fact that the ground around the apple orchard when they prepared themselves for the stampede was filled with red, green and yellowish apples when there were only red apples in the trees (that I could see)...

Realistic: While the show is good, it is not nearly as great as people make it out to be. Imo, it has great characters, great animation, and is funny in between the morales. Most endings to episodes can be bad though, but that is because the show was originally targeted towards girls

Well, there's various ways of looking at it.

I really do enjoy the show, and if you look back in the thread you'll notice I really wasn't interested at all in beggining to watch the show. I too suspected the mass hysteria curbing the opinions of everyone came across the show. So I only began watching after the question became looming; "Why do people enjoy this show so much?"

We could begin by analyzing the praise which is appearing. We can readily assume that these reviews are not necessarily married to any given poster's opinion of the show - many people put their actual thoughts through a "MLP is manly" filter before posting it (4 teh lulz ofc!) and that may be why people who view the show afterwards appear underwhelmed. Now on the 20th episode, I can myself say that this a very well-polished piece of television, not something on the caliber of LOST or something like that, but it surpasses every expectation anyone had for a show about My. Little. Pony. The characters and the dynamic between them is superb for a kid's show and cliche elements are countered with clever writing. And yes, the show is animated excellently. A show which exudes innocence in a world deprived of it.

How much this lowered bar affected the opinions of viewers, I can only gander at. I tuned in long after the craze had taken off, and honestly, I found the show very enjoyable. I think what I most enjoy is the dynamics between the characters. But of course, the show is not the visual manifestation of awesome the Internet makes it out to be, but honestly, if you've any knowledge of the Internet you should be savvy enough to know to take these things with a grain of salt. Specially when it comes to something which a memetic twist.

So, to close, this is actually a very well-made show from established talent. Even if it does gander into the "Show for elementary school girls" territory now and then, it manages to avoid that at large, which is a large part of the appeal.

Eh, like its been said so many times before, if you don't like it because you've seen the show, and just didn't like it after seeing a few episodes, then fince, that's cool, no t everyone's gonna like a show, right?

But, if you haven't seen it, and don't wanna watch it and dislike it JUST because its MLP or something like that, then I don't see how you can really judge the series without watching it.

Listen, if you don't know "what the fuzz is about" with this series, but haven't seen it at all, why not simply watch an episode?
Can't hurt to give it a try, right?

Sure, its probably not the best series ever (That title goes to Code Geass. ) but its pretty good, and much better in comparison to shows nowdays.
