@ piggabling - see that's the thing...you're going to spend all that time here waiting for beta codes and it makes the wait 100x longer when we could have this thread locked, FINALLY HAVE SOME FUN DOING SOMETHING ELSE, and when someone gets an email from SONY with the code another thread will be made to inform everyone

to me i see no point in this thread being open except to keep filling it with spam and questions that have already been answered, can be answered, or is being answered with pure rumors that start more speculation and more spamming.

in the end..we already have a BETA FAQ thread somewhere (i think its stickied) so we REALLY should get this locked so we can finally relax and enjoy ourselves until the beta codes are sent out

Instead of calling out spam just help out with the questions. They know what is happening in the thread and as soon as a FAQ is updated they will take care of it.

Thank you T-D-App. I was getting very mad at Sony since I must of spent over $300 on LBP to merch, DLC and multiple copies. For those asking about getting access to the lbpc beta forum, the established method is to send a screenshot of your beta invitation email. You should probably block out your beta code: CC's a good guy and I'm sure he wouldn't try to take advantage, but you have to upload the pic somewhere and there's always the chance that somebody will see it and try to grab your code. If you know you're in (you have access to the official forum), but you haven't got your email yet (none of us in NA have), what you can do is send him a link to something you've posted in the official beta forum. That's how I got into the lbpc beta forum.

There's not a whole lot going on in the lbpc beta forum lately. Since the nda was lifted, people are mostly posting in the regular lbp2 section of the forum. Still, there's a little bit still happening there, so it's worth getting access if you can.

As for the spam thing, yes we should try to limit superfluous comments and especially anything that can come across as bragging, but there's no need to call for a lock. If the mods decide the thread is a problem, they'll take care of it. For those of us who aren't mods, the best thing we can do is be as helpful as possible, only post if we've got something relevant to say, and try to follow the forum rules to the best of our abilities. Leave the locking, etc to the mods.

How do I know if I am in the beta?
Emails haven't been sent out for the NA or new participants. Check here (http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PRIVATE-LBP-2-Beta/bd-p/bEN_LBP_beta) and here (http://beta.lbp.me/)to see if you have access (logging in and out can help). Remember to log into the master account (the one your sub account is linked to) to see if you have access. If you do have access, expect an email!

Note
If you have never been to the PSN European forums before, give them 24 hours to add you to the system and try again. But if you have access to the lbp.me site, then you are in!

I cant get access, what now?
There are more waves of invites to be sent so look out for any more info from Sony announcing these. Also, the list of participants is updating daily, so check back every now and then at those 2 links I posted above. I am on a Child account, what account do I enter the code on?
Enter the code on your parent or guardians account (or whichever account yours is linked to that is 18+) and you can play on your own account when it is downloaded (it works on all accounts on the playstation you downloaded it on).

How do I get into the LBPC Beta forums?

I checked the last 10+ pages to see what was being asked and that's the main stuff I could see. I hope I did not miss any big questions, there doesn't seem to be a lot above. *SIGH* Yeah, it's getting a bit ridiculous now with all these people coming along and posting without at least going a few pages back. I don't know how this could be more clear? I think the thread lock idea is great because nothing else seems to be working with these people. What about a thread lock, and mass email to all members with the up-to-date info on the status of the beta invites and how to click on a link? Surely that would stop them from coming in and asking the same questions over and over again?

EDIT: The other and probably best solution, is that we all agree to just ignore them and keep throwing up the link. Seriously... let's just ignore the repeat questions and people asking "So this means I'm in right?"		2010-10-14 16:04:00

No, I'm not sure there really is. And trust me, I know all too well what it's like to have the same questions/topics/comments being spammed over and over again. I merely felt bad that you guys feel responsible for that and truly do appreciate your efforts. I just don't want you folks to feel like you have to scramble to scour for any additional tidbit or quote if that information is already contained elsewhere. That's was my main concern.

Bottom line is, everyone is (understandably) anxious in anticipation of the upcoming NA beta, but there's really no new information. According to the PlayStation Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/10/08/littlebigplanet-update-bounce-pads-lbp-bloggies-lbp2-beta-update/), the NA Beta is arriving "soon," and according to various members here some people may have recently been granted access to various beta-related sites, indicating that the official beta invitations will most likely be sent out this week.

Okay sounds great! now I don't mean to bother you again. I tried the link again. now i can't access it. I signed in again.. no access? Well I dunno. It could be an error or a bug cuz i'd find it strange if one day im in the BETA tracker and then the other day im not. Well.. Let's just hope I'm in.

Idk why you'd lock it and just make a new thread of the same thing? Plus this is more of a news thread that just for this bit of news (PSBlog beta conf, other beta conf's etc.) whereas the official FAQ is for all general beta questions.

First off, have you noticed how many times I have changed the title to what is currently going on?

Secondly, if some one gets infracted they can read the infraction and learn from their mistakes. Of they can't understand that, they in my opinion, they are not mature enough to be here anyways. Soo.., the mods can read this and decide what to do.		2010-10-14 19:42:00

The 12 hours thing is just an arbitrary number. Technically, if you really, really wanted to you could check your email every 5 minutes. But that doesn't sound like a very exciting day, now does it?

To clarify: I'm not sure if there's any confirmed time for anything, just times after which people noticed that they had access or not. It's based off of observation and speculation, not anything confirmed by Sony or Media Molecule (as far as I have read.)		2010-10-14 19:55:00

I doubt it is true, because: The Official US PS Blog said North Americans for the FIRST PHASE will get the BETA THIS week, and the average person wouldn't even know they were in the Beta unless emailed the invite, which will have the code obviously. I can only think that you might be in the list that is just updating still. Adding thousands of entries can't be easy for it. Hopefully in a few days you will get full access. I don't think that you would be given something other than Denied if they werent watching your profile. This was probably something I should have put in the FAQ, even just as a " I don't know but tell us if you get this"

Don't. Buying PSPlus will not increase your chance of getting into the beta. People were chosen god knows how long ago, so buying PSPlus now wouldn't affect if they picked you.

If you're EST (eastern standard time), you ADD 5 hours to your current time to find the GMT time.

Since what I suggested worked, I suspect it was just matter of rechecking the authentication via the site since it had changed since last time, but since they were still logged in, they had no access. Once logged out, hitting the link again recalled the authentication routine and allowed access.

If you know you're in (you have access to the official forum), but you haven't got your email yet (none of us in NA have), what you can do is send him a link to something you've posted in the official beta forum. That's how I got into the lbpc beta forum.

There's not a whole lot going on in the lbpc beta forum lately. Since the nda was lifted, people are mostly posting in the regular lbp2 section of the forum. Still, there's a little bit still happening there, so it's worth getting access if you can.

[edit] Wow, I'm magic or something. I said we should limit comments and it was 3 1/2 hours before anybody said anything

Okay, so I did this yesterday and it worked (big thanks by the way), and I've received permission from Cc. Only problem is... I can't find the bloody lbpc beta forum. Is there a link to it on this site somewhere? I've tried the search bar but nothing comes up and I don't see any official beta forum buttons anywhere. I'm using my PS3 as a browser, so that could be an issue due to it being such a lousy internet tool, as I can't see all of this site's info clearly with things piled up on top of each other.

I know there's not a lot going on, but I'd still like very much to check it out and see what's been brought up over there. Thanks.

@ phife211 SnappyGuy is correct. The emails still haven't gone out (so far as we know.) Three days ago would have been plenty of time for you to have received official notice. To be honest, I'm not sure if they re-try if they get bounce-back emails or not? I doubt it... but it's possible I guess, since it's an automated system. During the SCEE beta there was a thread on the official forums asking if you didn't get a code by a certain date, I'm sure they'll do the same to account for any spam blocking or errors in the automated system.2010-10-15 12:33:00

Hey everyone I know how to get in LBPC beta forums.

1. you have to have access to both beta.lbp.me (http://beta.lbp.me/denied) and Private:LBP2 beta in playstation. (https://store.playstation.com/external/index.vm?returnURL=https://secure.eu.playstation.com/psnauth/PSNResponse/forums/)
2. Download this thing call Gyazo (http://gyazo.com/en) (You can take pics of what you are doing in your PC just click and drag)
3. Post a comment Private:LBP2 beta in playstation then use Gyazo to take a pic of your comment. Then a new window will come up with the pic copy the link.
4. Create a PM to CC then tell him that you want to be in the LBPC beta forums and then you will get access.		2010-10-15 12:55:00

hey guys, quick question, i'm in NA, i suddenly have access to LBP.me,(where as in the past i didn't) and when i log into the private forum instead of being flat denied it loads and goes to a blank page?
is this almost confirmation we may be hearing about the beta very very shortly. i still have no email in my inbox, ....am i doing it wrong?

....could you guys try again and let me know if anything has changed. its the end of the week, but it appears i'm getting in the "restricted access sections" a bit further, my head is in if i can just squeeze a bit more "HNNGGH"

However, for fun try going to the beta forum and when it yells at you about no access or you see the generic forum list, and if you are logged in (still with no official access), try logging out then hit the beta forum link again and try to login.		2010-10-15 16:27:00

lol... Well, you have to consider there being over 600 posts in this thread and quite a few of them are asking if the emails have gone out. However, I was just suggesting something for you to try if you are having issues getting into the PS3 beta forum. If you read Tom's quote above, it appears that this round is for North American beta testers. According to the PS Blog, the criteria for this phase includes a "special mix of LBP contributors, DLC owners and PlayStation Plus members."

As JWW pointed out, there are quite a few redundant questions here. Right now, things are very much in a state of flux. Some users have access to LBP.me, but not the beta forums (or vice versa), others have access to neither, and some have access to both.

Bottom line is, codes for the beta client have not yet been sent. There's a lot of speculation going around, but all will be revealed once emails are sent out. Once this happens, you will most likely receive direct instructions on how to access the various sites and be privy to solutions for the problems of "I have access to one but not the other" or "I have access but I didn't receive an email", etc. If you've been formally accepted into the Beta, an email is most likely to arrive this weekend according to a post by Spaff on the private beta forums.

Again: be patient, check the various sites and emails, but don't let yourself get carried away. If some of you experience some problems in the mean time, I'm fairly positive it has something to do with the fact that the NA beta has not been formally initiated. Some people may have been granted access, but that access has not yet been announced to you. Thus, there are bound to be some hiccups along the way.

Of course, like nearly 83% of this thread, this last bit is mostly speculative in nature, but I can only surmise from everyone's experience that this is what is occuring.

Keep your pants on. It's going to be a bumpy ride. And if you don't make it into the beta this round, there's always the next phase. Most of all, be patient.

What I mean is that after I place my info and enter it, the page asking me to log-in just appear again,as if I had just refresh... O_o?

Clear your cache and cookies.

If the problem persists, use a different browser.

No, you should not be worried. I don't think they "forgot" anyone, to be quite frank. The process does not work like that. Media Molecule and Sony have their criteria, and if you meet that criteria, then you are selected. It's really that simple.

Hey everyone I know how to get in LBPC beta forums.

1. you have to have access to both beta.lbp.me (http://beta.lbp.me/denied) and Private:LBP2 beta in playstation. (https://store.playstation.com/external/index.vm?returnURL=https://secure.eu.playstation.com/psnauth/PSNResponse/forums/)
2. Download this thing call Gyazo (http://gyazo.com/en) (You can take pics of what you are doing in your PC just click and drag)
3. Post a comment Private:LBP2 beta in playstation then use Gyazo to take a pic of your . Then a new window will come up with the pic copy the link.
4. Create a PM to CC then tell him that you want to be in the LBPC beta forums and then you will get access.

It's been about an hour and I've got 65% downloaded. It's going slow, but not as slow as some others.

For some of you slower downloaders, I would suggest a wired connection to your PS3 or if you're using Dial-Up... Throw it out the window and buy something THIS century!

Well since we are on the topic of downloading, well, mine is at 61% and I have been downloading for almost 45min.
I have Hi speed internet, so whatever you guys are using (the peoples that have only 25% in an hour) I think you need to use a direct connection.
If that doesn't work, I don't know what you are going to have to do. Sorry.

I have some of my friends, that want an update everytime the percentage goes up 1%. XD
They are all so jealous, they just left my house when i gots the betas!

Obviously, I got my beta vest installed just as the beta got to 100% for downloading, and the beta vest popped up on the screen saying it was done, and I closed it only to have to restart the beta's download. Maybe there was another way to return to were I was but it's too late now. I'm at 22% though so it's going quicker.2010-10-16 01:14:00

My download started pretty well, within 10 minutes I was already at 25% but then I accidently loaded up LBP, then accidently loaded home, then my system froze when I tried to quit home and now it's going at a snail's pace... heh, must've lost my place in line 2010-10-16 01:30:00

ARGHH!! Started DL'ing 45 minutes ago, left to go to grocery store when it was at 40%.... came back home to stupid message saying there was an error during the DL procedure! This happens all the time with DL's to me!! Now I have to start all over again! #@%?&!!!!! 2010-10-16 01:37:00

Mine downloaded in about 20 min. But, my ps3 has a 250 gb hard drive thats pluged into att u-verse at 18 mbp.

Well THAT'S pretty inconsiderate!! Don't they understand the importance of this monumental event? Perhaps you need to kick their butt off the system, and sit them down to a nice cup of tea end explain thongs to them.

Some of you may not be aware of this, but if you select "Download In Background", it really slows your DL speed down by quite a bit. Too late if you've already selected it, but good for future reference.

T-minus 8 minutes and counting for me, so you may not hear from me again until sometime on Monday. This wired connection is far better.... why I didn't do it sooner is beyond me!		2010-10-16 02:19:00
