The loading bug was a major complaint from the beta and Mm had plenty of opportunity to fix it. So why didn't they? My theory is that Mm left the bug there deliberately for this post-launch period. The aim being to keep the community from socialising too much and to encourage creators to spend their time building levels rather than gadding about with friends. I believe that once Mm are satisfied that there are enough community generated levels out there and players have more choice of stuff to keep them occupied, then they will release a patch that gets rid of the bug and allows us to play together again. If everyone could edit it many people could mess it up or could just add spam quotes and stuff like that. Though, it would be cool and easier if atleast some (3-5) people could edit the first post and add quotes.
