The bots are going to change everything, it's no longer gonna be empty and you can have proper NPCs and stuff :3 | 2010-05-09 12:24:00 Author: SmellyBadger ![]() Posts: 23 |
God, I just imagine it now, levels full of NPCs! I wonder how spawning sackbots will operate, maybe there will be a sakbot only checkpoint or something...? | 2010-05-09 12:27:00 Author: croissantbuncake ![]() Posts: 572 |
im so going to make a level, where you have to control the bots to move the boxes in the right areas, if the bots move afterwards, they go back to the same start point, it'll take teamwork, and who know if they'll have more people and splitscreen, ima be like WHOA!!!! | 2010-05-09 12:31:00 Author: Joshofsouls ![]() Posts: 1569 |
And water is gooing to have an improvement or 2 aswell! These are the ideas we had but didnt say cause they were so far fetched. I mean directing your own movie is something everyone has wanted in every game. I cannot wait till Monday. I'm so gonna make a huge sackbot make it look like godzilla and let you control it with such a control seat and then you could just destroy a whole town full of scared sackbots! ![]() ![]() Aaaah cant wait | 2010-05-09 12:33:00 Author: ikbeneland ![]() Posts: 57 |
But, splitscreen is a must, if you're going to have cars, flying things, and npc's, u need splitscreen to even function the game properly | 2010-05-09 12:35:00 Author: Joshofsouls ![]() Posts: 1569 |
Oh, and Stephen Fry. He made the voiceovers sooooooooo cool. And Get it together by The Go Team! That was like the theme song to Lbp | 2010-05-09 12:39:00 Author: Snappyguy ![]() Posts: 710 |
But, splitscreen is a must, if you're going to have cars, flying things, and npc's, u need splitscreen to even function the game properly Good point. Speaking of flying things, I think that the flying level of my Spyro series will be updated with a vehicle when I move the series to LBP2. I also hope to make use of the 'stringing together levels' part. | 2010-05-09 12:41:00 Author: Jedi_1993 ![]() Posts: 1518 |

OK, so I just picked up EDGE magazine, which also features LBP2. There is tonnes of information and at least 3 new screenshots in it. Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner. :/ Maybe someone with one can pick it up and scan it for others ![]() EDIT: EDGE says it will release in Winter :/ EDIT 2: I will post new information from the article here : -Grappling Hook A powerup in the mould of LBP's MGS DLC, the grappling hook is thrown out with R1 and attatches to any grabbable [so sponge etc] surface until you let go in the same way a grab would usually work. You can reel it in and out by pressing up and down on the stick, and also swing, your tether flexing with a satisfying 'boing'. - There are BOUNCE PADS - A HUUUUUGE visual upgrade ^_^ - Level Linking 'Badges' Place the new level-linking 'badge' in your level and you can seamlessly transport players to another. Useful for building multi-level games as well as for collector types to create level hubs for great levels that they've found To see the rest check out the next page of posts ![]() | 2010-05-09 12:50:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |
*patiently waits for monday, after realizing that discussing a subject that we have a limited amount of knowledge is a little pointless; as the game may raise the bar for all other games and go way above our expectations.* monday is apparently not a word and gets underlined in red ? | 2010-05-09 12:51:00 Author: flamingemu ![]() Posts: 1872 |

Here's what confuses me: How are you going to keep your items from LBP1 in LBP2? Like music and stuff. Will it transfer over to LBP2 by using your save stuff, or will everyone have LBP1 stuff? | 2010-05-09 13:19:00 Author: qrtda235566 ![]() Posts: 3664 |
Here's what confuses me: How are you going to keep your items from LBP1 in LBP2? Like music and stuff. Will it transfer over to LBP2 by using your save stuff, or will everyone have LBP1 stuff? I guess our profiles in LBP1 will be usable in LBP2 (collected materials, stickers, decorations, etc...) ![]() | 2010-05-09 13:28:00 Author: Oddmania ![]() Posts: 1305 |
Here's what confuses me: How are you going to keep your items from LBP1 in LBP2? Like music and stuff. Will it transfer over to LBP2 by using your save stuff, or will everyone have LBP1 stuff? Well the DLC save file you have in your GAME DATA FOLDER is basically a key, so all they would need to do is include said DLC DATA on the actual disc. and/or it'll just also use your LBP1 save file. The game would effectively use that file to tell what DLC you already own and then unlock that DLC in the popit ready for you to use. | 2010-05-09 13:28:00 Author: mnimmo1986 ![]() Posts: 552 |

I am really hoping stickers and that will transfer over, even from the themes. I can understand theme objects not coming, nor do I want them but the music, stickers, decorations and materials I really want to cross over. That leads to one more thought, are they going to improve popit browsing? If those things do cross over there will be a megatonne of stickers! The fur to me looks like a decoration stuck on. | 2010-05-09 13:35:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee ![]() Posts: 1370 |

- Level Linking 'Badges' Place the new level-linking 'badge' in your level and you can seamlessly transport players to another. Useful for building multi-level games as well as for collector types to create level hubs for great levels that they've found I'd better start planning my massive free-roaming Hogwarts level then! Just think - a huge castle split into multiple levels, seamlessly linked together, with NPC's all over the place to ineractive and maybe even a direct control seat Buckbeak that you'll be able to fly around. It'll be awesome!!! | 2010-05-09 13:51:00 Author: Nuclearfish ![]() Posts: 927 |

MORE INFO FROM EDGE: -You can make Sackbots harmful (electrify, fire etc) -You can grapple sackbots -Microchips work like so: Once you place them, it projects a space in which you can build logic etc. When you are done it minimizes the logic and store it inside one little microchip -Colour filters for certain areas, eg x-ray -Instead of sliders in lighting and sound menus, they have percentages -It IS possible to record something and apply it to a sackbot ![]() -If you program a sackbot to follow you, and then jump into a vehicle, the sackbot will catch up and jump in with you. -You can use direct control seats with sackbots -Cutscene cameras are now white... (Seen in a screenshot) -You can program sackbots to hang off things -New hazard: Laser -Direct control does control momentum, so no unwanted shooting up into the air -Photos on lbp.me will be the oens posted on the level itself -Usernames on lbp.me will be PSN names -New torch/flashlight lighting object (Just looks like one, sackboy cannot actually hold it) -You can place decorations and stickers on your planet ![]() -There will be a facebook-style 'stream' (possibly lbp.me) which will show highscores, hearted levels etc for each player -So far it is 4GB extra content (will get bigger).. Meaning it is too big for a patch -If they were to make it as DLC it would be VERY expensive DLC. (Last 2 points for all those 'Is LBP2 necessary'-ers) -There are cool Futurama-esque green clear tubes which suck Sackboy through them And I think that's all the new info from EDGE. As I said before, I don't have a scanner so I can't show you all the awesome new screenshots but if someone has a scanner and buys EDGE, they could possibly do it.....? Thanks guys! @Nuclearfish MAKE IT HAPPEN! ^_^ @samalot I live in the UK and it is available there, not sure about anywhere else though, sorry :/ And is anyone else absoloutely LOVING the level-linking idea? Especially the point of b eing able to make hubs for all your levels! ^_^ | 2010-05-09 14:00:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |

I think we know what they did with those people from Sackbook... ![]() And yes, I'm loving level-linking. It opens up so many possibilities... Microchips sound brilliant. I don't think logic is gone like everyone is saying, it just seems to be condensed. Anyway, did they say anything about increasing the level cap? It would suck if people with 20 levels out would have to delete some. | 2010-05-09 14:05:00 Author: qrtda235566 ![]() Posts: 3664 |

Wow! Lots of info there plasma! Programing SackBots to follow you sounds awesome! Not sure why the cutscene cameras have changed colour, but it doesn't matter. not in tesco's or any other shops ![]() also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LittleBigPlanet_2 "You can even put a direct control seat on Sackboy himself to completely customise the feel and controls of your protagonist - it's possible to recreate the exact jump from Yoshi's Island on Super Nintendo, says the developer." http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=245790 | 2010-05-09 14:13:00 Author: flamingemu ![]() Posts: 1872 |
Aww, that sucks asphalt! By placing decorations and stickers on your planet I think it means that you can put stickers on your own planet (where you publish your levels) so each one looks different etc depending on the creator, sounds pretty cool. It would be nice to sticker different 'zones' on your planet depending on each level series! E.g. Morgana25 could have jewels and multicoloured stckers in one area for the Chroma Stone Chronicles, and dragon stickers and teeth decorations for Dragons of Myth! You gettin' me? ^_^ | 2010-05-09 14:16:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |

Yeah I'm just looking at the sccreenshots now to see if I can spot a Magic Mouth. They might look different though.. :/ EDIT: There is an AWESOME character (not a Sackbo or Sackbot, a story character) made of rolled up balls of newspaper. It looks AMAZING. Still looking for magic mouths though.... EDIT: Nope, no Magic mouths that I can see! I really wish I had a scanner though, some of these pictures are actually amazing.. EDIT: OMGOMGOMG UPDATE! Just been looking at screenshots and I've seen a number of different looking planets. There is: A sepia style one with a sheet (story mode icon) of an old man with a beard. Also has tree trunks? and a wax seal on it - Reneissance level? A blue one tht looks like one of those old scanners with a sheet of what looks like a propaganda poster on it, has little lights on it. -Cold war? A green vegetated one with flower decorations on it. Sheet is a strawberry- NAture level? By the looks of things each different time period has a different 'planet'.. :/ | 2010-05-09 14:23:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |

We may set their strength. I'm wondering if we'll be able to upload our own pictures, since we'll be able to record our own sounds. | 2010-05-09 14:43:00 Author: Oddmania ![]() Posts: 1305 |
:/ - Techno Renaissance: Whimsical alternative take of the Renaissance period. Leonardo da Vinci-like character to guide him through a technology-based twist level - Steam & Cake: Steampunk-style level based on a ****ed-up tea and cake party - Neon Propaganda: Cold-war era posters line a factory environment where Sackboy is liberating oppressed workers. There is a grim nature to the level that is totally opposed to the neon lights and signs. - Fluffy High-Tech: Various high-end technology equipments like video walls are mixed with bunnies and fluffy sheep. It is a cold, futuristic environment populated by adorable creatures - Designer Organic: Eco-architecture comes together around a designed and controlled version of nature. Described as "art noveau". The closest to nature Sackboy gets in this game. Elaborate designs comprised of plants. - Hand-Made Arcade: A super-tribute level to tons of arcade classics. Embraces the hand-made art from the first game. Pixels made of cardboard and wood. I had fun highlighting that ![]() | 2010-05-09 14:51:00 Author: flamingemu ![]() Posts: 1872 |
OK guys PICTURES FROM EDGE ARTICLE CAN BE FOUND IN THIS ALBUM (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/album.php?albumid=1438) Happy? PSEye quality was meh, but you can still see the pictures alright. Sorry for my lack of scanner >.< | 2010-05-09 14:58:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |

Thanks alot man ! ![]() Did you notice that the pipes that transport players ( http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=16283&d=1273412811 ) is a cylinder ? (Well I hope you did ![]() We can make cylinders in LBP1, but not that way, not vertical. I guess it's an object made by Mm, but I hope we'll be able to make this kind of shape. | 2010-05-09 15:14:00 Author: Oddmania ![]() Posts: 1305 |
Awesome, plasma. So, are the level pipes a replacement for the scoreboard? Also, there looks like there is alot more options on the cutscene camera. | 2010-05-09 15:16:00 Author: FlipMeister ![]() Posts: 631 |
As mentioned before in one of my posts, the pipes can also be used to transport the player within the level itself, Futurama-esque ^_^ | 2010-05-09 15:18:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |
I love the level pipes. Does this mean we could be playing on one level for hours cause it's linked to other levels? | 2010-05-09 15:21:00 Author: talbot-trembler ![]() Posts: 1114 |
I love the level pipes. Does this mean we could be playing on one level for hours cause it's linked to other levels? I think it is possible... It's going to be great! I bet Mm is laughing about all of our crazy ideas! Haha! | 2010-05-09 15:32:00 Author: piggabling ![]() Posts: 2979 |
Mm wouldn't do that! Actually.. They made The Bunker so it's very probable.. | 2010-05-09 15:33:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |
I wonder whats special about these bounce pad objects, they are fairly easy to make in the current game. | 2010-05-09 15:40:00 Author: olit123 ![]() Posts: 1341 |
I can't wait until winter!! By the way, thanks for all that info plasmavore! ![]() | 2010-05-09 15:41:00 Author: piggabling ![]() Posts: 2979 |
You are very welcome ^_^ I think the bounce pads are special because they are more like trampolines and actually bend inwards when you jump on them. But I may be wrong ![]() | 2010-05-09 15:44:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |
Maybe they are magical bounce pad objects! | 2010-05-09 15:45:00 Author: blizzard_cool ![]() Posts: 752 |
Yes, the bounce pads would be more special, and probably easier to use. You could probably adjust the pads by going into its option menu. ![]() | 2010-05-09 15:47:00 Author: piggabling ![]() Posts: 2979 |
Yeah, how bouncy they are. LBP2 is so cool. I know that's been said already, I though I'd just let it out! ![]() | 2010-05-09 15:49:00 Author: talbot-trembler ![]() Posts: 1114 |
-Microchips work like so: Once you place them, it projects a space in which you can build logic etc. When you are done it minimizes the logic and store it inside one little microchip This is coolness made logic! | 2010-05-09 15:49:00 Author: OmegaSlayer ![]() Posts: 5112 |
You are very welcome ^_^ I think the bounce pads are special because they are more like trampolines and actually bend inwards when you jump on them. But I may be wrong ![]() My thoughts exactly, so bounce pads can be used by everything. As an example, if sackboy pushed a metal block of a ledge, and the block fell on the pad, the pad would bend inwards and shoot the piece of metal up at a slightly faster speed than it was going on the way down. | 2010-05-09 15:54:00 Author: FlipMeister ![]() Posts: 631 |
Pweshishlee! ('Precisely' to any non-plasmarian speakers ^_^ ) | 2010-05-09 15:56:00 Author: Plasmavore ![]() Posts: 1913 |
The microchip will be excellent for vehicles, no more hiding huge chunks of logic in an inaccessible part of the level, now it all fits in a neat package that can be mounted on the vehicle itself! | 2010-05-09 15:57:00 Author: croissantbuncake ![]() Posts: 572 |
The whole microchip thing is intriquing me. I really have to see this stuff first hand... | 2010-05-09 15:58:00 Author: piggabling ![]() Posts: 2979 |
Found this on News Of The World's site: Release this autum Wait, what? I made a joke prediction ofbeing released in fall and it came true... ![]() It could be a level where you're being chased by a massive cyborg SackBot, through lots of old buildings that the SackBot can destroy. That would be cool. You mean the Skulldozer? ![]() Anyway...LBP2 so near means that what we saw in action with Move was actually LBP2, and a bundle LBP2 with Move will move a lot of pieces o the new gimmick Doubt it, they wouldn't risk showing anything about it so early on, probably WAS LBP1, i mean, i'm quite sure they could make it PS MOVE compatible for a demo. I love the level pipes. Does this mean we could be playing on one level for hours cause it's linked to other levels? If you're playing the connected finished Shinan Fortress, believe you WILL be playing for hours :kz: | 2010-05-09 16:01:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
So bounce pads are just like a bounce pad we could make now, only more animated and without the associated connectors sensors and switches? (just made a suitably vehicle based avatar!) | 2010-05-09 16:04:00 Author: croissantbuncake ![]() Posts: 572 |
So bounce pads are just like a bounce pad we could make now, only more animated and without the associated connectors sensors and switches? (just made a suitably vehicle based avatar!) I'm not sure, but it could be a bouncy material, that moves inward slightly when something falls on it and you can bounce on it too. Dunno though. | 2010-05-09 16:07:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
The visual upgrade (based on the hi-res scans) look great. I also like that our old levels will be fully compatible and carry over - as well as get a visual upgrade too. Some neat stuff here. | 2010-05-09 16:10:00 Author: CYMBOL ![]() Posts: 1230 |
The bouncers are a nice add even because they're just tools, so they will be more thermo riendly than a self made bouncer. I also thinks that all the things we gathered in here are less than 60% o the new things we will have. And I may also add that with 3,36 mil copies sold and the new contract with Sony, MM will have a budget that we won't ever imagine and that is at least 5 times the budget they had for LBP, then just add the help from the other Sony studios tech wise. I even hope that Sony will market the game better with every partnership possible. As I said almost a year ago, dealing with some manga publishers will boost the sales in Japan, and having more themed DLCs like Assassin's Creed one will gather other audience. I don't know how much I would pay for a Devil May Cry or a Darksiders costume. I think that Sony didn't push too much on this side, since we're still waiting for the Sephiroth and Marvel DLCs. | 2010-05-09 16:11:00 Author: OmegaSlayer ![]() Posts: 5112 |

Great to hear a lot of new features in LBP2. The grappling hook, robot, and a lot of new logical stuff looked like it has a lot of expansions that could really boost the fun of LBP franchise. The coolest feature is that you can really make different Genres. Glad to hear that downloadable contents from the first LBP can be transferred too but will the MGS, History, and Monster pack be in LBP2? The reason I asked is because I bought the "Game of the Year" edition version of LBP which came with the contents I mentioned and I don't have to buy those contents. Can't wait to see LBP2 in E3 just to see how it can really do. Looking forward to buy it when it arrives. | 2010-05-09 17:57:00 Author: JustinArt ![]() Posts: 1314 |

- I hope Sackbots are customisable like Sackboy. Adding deco on them would be painfull for nothing. - Grappling lasers, yay! - Media Molecule still didn't get out to make truly useful stickers and REALLY encourage creativity. We need basic shapes and colors, canvas, transparency, etc. Now this aspect of the game will not be improved at all. ![]() | 2010-05-09 19:02:00 Author: RangerZero ![]() Posts: 3901 |
@ RangerZero; You can upload your sackbot with a custom costume you have made and saved, so they can look just like you! =D And grappling lasers are actually grappling arm attachments that fire wires that look like lasers. =) | 2010-05-09 19:04:00 Author: Richasackboy ![]() Posts: 619 |

From what I understand, that is what the default Sackbot looks like. Perhaps sackbots will enable us to take more detailed photos of our sackpeople's homemade costumes? As in, the sackbot could be scaled up, and a picture could be taken of a specific spot on the sackbot. You can even make the sackbot turn around! Can we make sackbot zombies that walk after you and can somehow be dangerous? Can sackbots be programmed to walk on predetermined paths? Can sackbots jump when they need to? These are what I want to know. I'm betting you can, Inc. I mean, what could they be useful for if they couldnt do those? They would be heavily limited. Besides, assuming that now you can make your own cutscenes, chances are that you are gonna need some kind of actors. And Sackbots are my bet for that. So, if you can make lil' movie with them, it seems logic that you have quite some control over them, so at least you can make them jump when you want them to and walk wherever you want. I also believe they'll be able to perform an amazing plane switch! And regarding your question about if they can be dangerous to sackpeople, wasnt mentioned in this thread that you can "hazardize" them (I'm not sure it was mentioned, though, but I'd say so). What I'd like to know, though, its if they can have objects attached. ![]() | 2010-05-09 19:42:00 Author: Keldur ![]() Posts: 628 |

Wait, how do you know it will be then? Ah well, I'll have to wait till I get home from school anyway... >_< It's said here http://www.vg247.com/2010/05/09/littlebigplanet-2-screens-hit-net/ by Syroc the man himself | 2010-05-09 20:05:00 Author: OmegaSlayer ![]() Posts: 5112 |

got to say really looking forward to the sackbots they should be pretty useful, but yet again could not make the final cut. SO i'm keeping my fingers crossed definately for the sackbots... ![]() Looks like Sackbots are one of the main features, so can't see them being cut. ![]() Anyway... Grant, Morgana, gevurah, comphy, rtm, wexfordian, jack, jump-button, CCartman have already seen the game, and that's the reason why they're avoiding this topic. ![]() Just curious - how/when did they see it? | 2010-05-09 20:12:00 Author: Nuclearfish ![]() Posts: 927 |

Did anyone else post this site. it has 2 or 3 more LBP2 pics http://www.allgamesbeta.info/2010/05/littlebigplanet-2_09.html | 2010-05-09 20:18:00 Author: acdramon ![]() Posts: 332 |
I wish I was a VIP too sometimes ![]() But would you really have liked to have seen it before everyone else and not be able to talk about it? Sometimes it's nicer to be in the same boat as everyone else and get involved in all this discussion and specualtion. I would hate to be watching all this conversation from the sidelines without being able to join in and reveal anything.... ...until tomorrow that is. ![]() | 2010-05-09 20:19:00 Author: Nuclearfish ![]() Posts: 927 |

Grant, Morgy, me, rtm, Jump and CC for sure have never seen it. The others... probably. We're avoiding this topic because there is nothing more to say at this time. I can repeat what everyone else has said, but to what end? | 2010-05-09 20:23:00 Author: comphermc ![]() Posts: 5338 |
I can't wait to make two army's of sackbots battle to their bloody death for my pleasure. *Evil laugh* | 2010-05-09 20:27:00 Author: Doopz ![]() Posts: 5592 |

I can repeat what everyone else has said, but to what end? Ha, comph, like if it's about what we we say anymore. That's just an excuse, we're just trying to break the posts per second record. | 2010-05-09 20:28:00 Author: Keldur ![]() Posts: 628 |

Hopefully there will be a video tomorrow, because if not, I think Mm will just repeat everything that has been said in this thread. Or they do release a whole bunch of other stuff which will make my mind blow... again. | 2010-05-09 20:39:00 Author: napero7 ![]() Posts: 1653 |
Only thing I'm not liking is all the purpose made stickers. I liked the creative use of stickers on characters in the first game. | 2010-05-09 20:40:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
What we've seen of the level backgrounds so far look pretty good, one looks like a lab/high-tech warehouse, the other goes back to LBP's original visual style in what looks like a child's bedroom, kinda reminds me of Toy Story a little bit. | 2010-05-09 20:45:00 Author: olit123 ![]() Posts: 1341 |
