I found this on the internet and believe it's good advise: Whenever I start feeling sad, I just stop being sad and be awesome instead. True Story I think it means you have to climb back on the horse and start making awesome things in little big planet. If you would like me to help then ad me as a buddy. I've allready entered this contest but since there's no rule for the ammount of levels you can submit we might even win. | Yeah I'm Dutch and I'll try not to leave the lion standing in it's hempie XD Though I also tried to build a level with SavageCaptor and miserably failed. OMFG I totally understand where HydraulicWaRiOr is coming from now. I really wanted to help him, as you can read a few posts back, because he sounded so sad. It was a complete nightmare and I'm not used to complaining about people here but the experience was just too horrible. I'd almost rather play one of russclesmussels levels. To get them of my chest and to give you an idea I'll name some of the highlights here: Till now he has published only one level; it's an entering point,... that's it! When we went to his moon I asked him what he wanted to build. He told me what type of level he wanted but I had to jerk every other piece of information out of his mouth because he doesn't communicate at all and his answers lack all entousiasm or curiosity, the only emotion I could discover was pessimism. I asked him if I could use the layer glitch, after explaining how it works I made a grass floor with it and 2 ponds with sand and dirt. He then selected the entire piece, copied it moved it a little to the right and materialised it. Straight through the original. Then he said he wanted to build something else and went to his pod and to another place on his moon. I thought WTF but maybe he's more of a noob then I thought so lets give him 1 more chance. some time later... I was building a jungle character and needed a rewind but I didn't get any. Turned out he had just left for 30 minutes. 2 days later.. I was making a delicate cut through my jungle character, he just picks up the entire level while I'm doing it and continues with whatever he's doing. Also he just started to decorate the character while I was still building it. I asked him if he had played Verzas' and my entries for this contest, he didnt so we rushed through both of them. He didnt give any comment, went to an empty level on his moon with some cubes stacked up so they form stairs and asked me if I liked it.?!>!>?!> Then he had to go so I went back to my pod and noticed that the rating for the latest contest level I made with Verzas had gone down while only 2 extra people had played it leading to only one possible explanation. When he was online again I asked him why he downrated the level. Response: ? After asking again it turned out that he had given it 3 stars because the car scene was waaaaaay too long. I said that's evil and he could at least have told me about it so it would be easily fixed if necessary. He said he didnt know about that rule. I asked him to go back to the level we were making and I pretty much took apart the jungle character that I had made. I had to do it carefully cause the only thing he was doing was watching me for 30 minutes. I build an entire tree just to evade his suspicion. Then I asked to go back to his pod, leaving him with the worthless, basic patch of sand that he build and my tree. In advance I challenge everyone who doubts this story to build a level with him. It can't be done. ps The car scene in 'a day to the beach 3' is indeed a bit long but it's done because it's so cool to drive like that but the length is easily adjustable so comments are very much appreciated. | 2010-01-22 15:30:00 Author: Unknown User |

| I just don't like being dictated what to say and to look the other way when someone insults me by describing my effort as spreading hate and degredation. Firstly, my comment was a request, not a demand. Secondly, it was aimed at everyone, not just you. 1 piece of advice: focus your anger towards what's really causing the hate within the lbp community: Republishing and unfair contests like this one where 1 person has gotten the infallible authorety to decide who are his best followers . | Wow it looks like trouble has been brewing since I looked at this thread last but I don't want to know what that's all about. I'd rather get this thread back on track and would like to ask if anyone fancies making something with me. To cut a long story short my original partner dropped out and 2 or 3 others who said they'd like to do one with me several weeks ago haven't been on LBP since. I've given them plenty of time so I think I need to find someone who is serious now before it's too late. There isn't long left now to come up with something and build it from scratch. It may be better if it's someone in the same time zone as me ( I'm in the UK ) so we can get together as often as possible. You just need to know how to start, keep progressing and finish a level without getting bored and your communication should be most importantly. Did anybody of you worked without voice/keyboard? also, since I worked with Adi on our magpie level.. When I am alone in the editor.. I feel kinda.. alone.. I wasnt taking peoples personal lifes into account, since that was the most unknown factor. This was just an estimate for the more experienced level designer/Enviroment artist working in lbp. Still with the right planning, concentration and frustration that comes with that.. I would say most could finish a level within 2 weeks. (not counting two weeks as starting on monday week one, ending sunday week 2, but 14 days with at least 8 hours of work done) Though, I could probably finish most levels within a monday week 1 to zonday week 2 period. but... yes.. If I understand correctly, now CC and/or a team of judges have to go over every entry submitted here (I didn't count, but I think there are a significant number of them). Then an unspecified number of them will be selected and put up to a vote by the community (I assume for several days) to decide which one is the winner. I wouldn't expect to have the winning team announced for a week at least, possibly two. That aside, I think this was a great contest and really a lot of fun. Just from the few entries I had the chance to try out, I can tell that a lot of awesome new levels are now gracing the LBP servers thanks to this contest.
