We're going round in circles! I think there's a way out though. If we go from either balms or balds we can have

Oops, yes. We should have added/removed a letter at post #500...

Last time this happened (around post # 400) one letter was removed and one changed at the same time. If we are following that model, I'll go with

Harmed

i.e. adding "m" and changing "i" to "a". If you think that is not purist enough I can just add one and go with "haired" instead. I'll leave it to the next poster to choose...

Sorry for the double post but we may have got boxed into a corner here. I can't think of an obvious word to follow Sallet.

Unless anybody else has a brainwave, I suggest we go for Sablet which is a village in the Cote du Rhone which produces wine which is then called after the village. That is sort of cheating as we are not supposed to use names/proper nouns but as the wine is also called Sablet, perhaps it's not too bad.

So, anywho...

Sablet

Obviously it is not really my turn so if anyone else wants to go for another option, feel free.

Erm, sorry for the double post and the small bump but, in an attempt to kick start this thread back into life, I propose to remove a letter from the last word. I think five letter words are easier to manipulate. If there's still no one interested in playing after that then I won't try to resuscitate again! Promise!

@ktang77 - Erm, you have done it again, lol! You jumped from "coals" posted by SASGUNR to "souls" which involves changing 2 letters. I think we should start again from "coals".

BTW the last time the game went up to 6 letter words, it pretty soon ground to a halt and we had to reduce it back to 5 to get it going again. However if someone still wants to add a letter as we have reached the 600 posts mark, then by all means...oh and when adding a letter, in the past, the person adding has also been allowed to change a letter too. Oh dear, I have become a real "New Game to Play" geek...I think I'd better go now...
