Yeah, it's not official, but we call it the LBPC server, rather than Memodrix's server, and it's the most popular LBPC one, I believe xP
That's not to say it's the best. You're fortunate enough to have a choice of three

And it has been quite a while! Nice to see you again. I'd just drifted away from LBPC over the last year and a half after a lot of people here began getting so overly bitter about "this" and "that" and everything in between. I've no idea about the others, but there's usually about three players online. Some evenings that builds up to anywhere between 5 and 14! The problem tends to be that people don't go online when they see there's only a small amount of people online though :&apos		2012-12-19 20:57:00

I can't use any tools, open any doors, use any commands or interact with anything. I literally get a message saying "You don't have permission to use X". I can't even eat stuff.

sorry, my cable got knocked out by an errant truck or something, killed my interwebs whilst I was trying to fix it. It's a bpermissions issue that I can't quite sort out.


So put the server world on the 1.4.6 beta bukkit with a temporary world or try to keep the 1.4.5 for now?

I would only like that if we can keep the current world online simultaneously.. I'm currently on a little project of my own, and I know a few other people are on other projects currently that they probably don't want to give up :/

EDIT: On second thoughts, I downloaded the craftworld as a backup as I fixed the permissions error. (I just updated bpermissions.)

But we're still getting a lot of nasty looking errors in the console, so maybe an update wouldn't be too bad..		2012-12-21 20:13:00

BTW if any of you can get on, can you remove all my christmas presents? Most chests are empty and I won't have time to fill them anymore.

Well, if it can't be solved for now, maybe we should try playing on a temporary 1.4.6 world while we wait for a fix. It'd be better than nothing. Either way I log on more to chat with people than to build stuff.
Edit: Oh, so it's fixed now. Great! Disregard that.

Anyway, I'd like to thank you Memo (and Dayne and the rest of the people involved) for renting, maintaining and moderating a server, and thus providing us with a place where we can all play together. We all really appreciate the effort you guys put into this, and that doesn't get said enough.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Since most of you will likely be with family or otherwise unwrapping presents, and playing with toys and such, chances are a lot of you won't be online on Christmas day. For this reason, all gifts left under the Christmas tree are now unlocked!

They are available from now until.. well, presumably until they're all gone! If you've been online in the past couple of months, chances are you'll have one under there if you look hard enough!

If you WILL be online for Christmas, then you may wait until then to open them in true Christmas spirit

I've updating* it to the latest version, and according to dasbas and cory, it's slowly updating bits at a time. You probably have to visit specific bits until it renders them though. If that's the case, let me know and I'll make it run a full render.

Depends on who the stuff belongs to. Me for example, am happy to let people build on my tree (if they don't edit current structures, not including canals or pathways obviously) but others prefer to be left alone... see a few pages back for territory disputes.		2012-12-30 16:41:00

I started building a house in the desert on the server again. I'm gonna make another tomb. I ran in to a few problems already with enemies though. And I still haven't gotten a shelter made yet.

Well, first we take you to the spawn and make you feel loved. Then, we accidentally strike you with lightning. After that, it's an all out free for all to see who will make you leave the server to post here. Once that step is completed, you would log back in and eat some cake that surely doesn't have a Potion of Harming in it. Once you're knocked out, initiation begins.

Leave the big bad Speedy alone or he'll sue you.

Reality-

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time, but it's usually best to set your res tp's one block ABOVE where you want to spawn, to avoid things like that.		2013-01-04 00:33:00

I messed around with the new snapshot, usually I don't feel like sharing photos of my MC playground simply because of lazyness, but for your interest here's some pictures~

One of the first ideas I had to try was a simple chicken egg collector, with the item-catching Hoppers.

I connected all hoppers together under a small room, where I would spawn a few chickens that would hatch some eggs eventually.

Catching the eggs was harder than I thought, they would always land on the edge of the Hopper and not fall in it. I added some water to push around the eggs towards one corner. Most of the time no matter where the eggs landed they where now pushed into the Hoppers. However the chickens was also pushed into one corner, and several stacks got stuck in the corners instead .-.

I also tried the Hopper on Minecarts with chests. Sure enough, it does work. But to unload the minecart you had to put a hopper under it, and the Hopper didn't like having tracks on it. I solved this by pushing off the carts with a piston, that was activated by a track sensor, delayed with repeaters. Simple stuff xD

It worked very well actually, but the speed of the minecarts only picked up one item from the Hopper each turn. Some genius might figure out a way to make it say there for longer, packin' up more, like stacks of items.

I set up a simple light system for a simple house. I thought it would look horrible but it worked rather well. Mmm.. Sort of.

I originally placed the switch right next to the redstone inverter. Without thinking of the new "power levels" there are within redstone now. So even the slightest of sunlight turned off the lights, it would be too dark for too long before the light actually where activated.

I fixed it by simply moving the switch away from the inverter a bit, now it required more power (more sunlight) to move all the way to the inverter. In other words, the lights would turn on quicker.

I also noticed redstone can connect through stairs, yay! xD

I was messing around with Invisibility potions and noticed the mobs where acting weird to it. Dunno if this is new or old stuff though.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time, but it's usually best to set your res tp's one block ABOVE where you want to spawn, to avoid things like that.

I need my dat file deleted because I have been stuck at level 18 for months, and today I used them all to try to see if starting at 0 would help kickstart it. Now I'm stuck at level 0. Killed a bunch of monsters and bred some cows, but nothing worked. I can't absorb xp currently. On a different note, game on the ftb server the combustion engines blew up and took out one of the electric engines attached to the quarry. I fixed it. Basically. But there was a weird glitch where this creeper was by my house and somehow blew up the side of your house. Just thought you should know your house has a hole in it. I don't have the material you built your place out of to rebuild it with or I would have fixed that too. Good thing is it didn't mess up your chests or whatever else you had in there. I'm pretty sure, anyway. The only blocks I saw when I went over were dirt.		2013-01-08 02:05:00

More info on the new snapshot. As I predicted, there's a new type of rail called "activator rail" that'll trigger TNT carts .

Oh, and you can name mobs by naming the respective egg in the anvil.

Just a few seconds before a slime pounced on Kern, absorbing him and slowly digesting him into goo. Kern himself admitted that was the worst possible way to die.

Fraid I don't know how to do that. We use a server hosting site called Beastnode / Multicraft. If you're using a similar website, I suggest you look for tutorials. If you're using a computer it can't really be done.		2013-01-14 11:25:00

Once your firstborn reaches the age of 18, make an altar out of obsidian, place your computer on it, and tell your kid to lean over it. Strike him or her through the heart with your diamond pickaxe, while repeatedly chanting "Oh almighty Notch, accept this humble sacrifice and grant me another 1000MB!" Then let the blood seep into your computer's components.

When you launch the game with extra RAM, you're only allocating more RAM. This just means that the game has a much larger pool it can use up without sharing with other programs. You're using 4% because you only need to use that 4% at the time. The solution to laggy FPS is not to allocate more RAM if you've been running relatively smoothly until just now.		2013-01-15 03:52:00

Everything you know, really.

Last update introduced fireworks and enchanted books. Now you can "store" an enchantment by enchanting a book, then combining that book with the item you want to enchant on an anvil. That's the version we're currently in, 1.4.6. Version 1.4.7 is alredy out but it only fixes a few bugs, nothing more. Get 1.4.6 if you want to play on the server.

Next update will be the long awaited Redstone Update, and there's already a snapshot available. It has a lot of cool stuff. Restone behavior has been revamped. Now there are redstone blocks, daylight sensors, weighted pressure plates, hoppers (machines that transport items from one chest to the other), among other stuff. The server I play on is holding a big Survival Games match on Saturday, 11pm GMT, and we invite all friends at LBPC to come and join us!

But, I originally created this thread to discuss the Survival Games. It is such an awesome game to play on Minecraft. If you have ever played it, share your stories here of epic moments and victories over your friends!

Here, I will go first.

It was the best match ever.. Just me versus 2112tyl.. Lemme explain what went down..

Round started off, 2112 got a whole bunch of goodies from the start.. I got a few pieces of leather..

Me, being the cool kid I am, ran off like a frightened cat.

We eventually got almost every chest, and both him and I had the exact same armor, and weapons.. Here is what happened...

2112 was in a tree (I don't know why) on one of the sky islands. I came along, and found him. I started climbing up the tree, and he jump down right on top of me. We started an epic sword battle. We were both at half health or so, when my sword launches him over the side of the island. Me, thinking I won, started dancing around. Then I look back over, and 2112 is hanging off the edge of the island!! D:

I AIN'T JOKIN.

So, while laughing my bum off, I tried to keep my screen steady and took a screenshot.. He was completely helpless hanging off that bottomless cliff. Here is the screenshot.

So, me, being the manly, dominant one of the match. Started to laugh at him and just stare at him...

Then, I happened to have stepped too close to the wild 2112, hanging off a cliff..

AND GUESS WHAT.

HE HIT ME AND I DIED. HE WON WHILE HANGING OFF A CLIFF. NOT FAIR.

If you kindly scroll back up to the image, you can see I had 7 hearts, and pretty decent armor.. Sir 2112alot.. Had 3 hearts, and the same armor..

Now, ladies and gentlemen, the last time I checked, AN IRON SWORD DOESN'T TAKE 7 HEARTS IN ONE HIT. So, we had a rematch and I dropped kicked him off a cliff.

According to Dinnerbone on reddit, the skeletens will be harder to defeat with a sword and the zombies will be harder to defeat with bow and arrows.

Edit: You guys know how sometimes you fill a bucket with water, and some ugly running water blocks remain around the spot where you took the water? That bug's been fixed. Yay.

So, I always wanted to try makin' a texture pack, for funsies. I have barley done anything at all basically, I only changed tall grass, dirt, stone and side-grass so far. Tell me wadda ya think?

I'm not really too sure about the stone texture I made here.. It's so out of place somehow, not stone-ish. I'm very happy with the dirt though, even though it looks very depressing. Haha.

Thank you I'll probably keep trying on something with a mix of rounded and flattened~ The only problem I have with rounded stone is that it looks more like cobble. Speaking of which.

So. Turns out HawkEye doesn't seem to be working for us.. Kernel requested that firespread be turned back on, and this led to a few peoples' homes burning down, due to their fireplaces being too close to wood.

I extinguished the ones I found as soon as I could, but HawkEye didn't seem to have logged anything- meaning it couldn't be rolled back.. I'm bored, so I'll answer one of the long unanswered questions - which is better, knight or tank?
Well; this is as far as I got without wanting to drive a rusty spoon into my eye:

HEALTH:
KNIGHT = 3*6 potions = 18 hearts = 38 base hearts
15 points of armour. (150% efficiency)
Each zombie attack = 6 hearts.
1st hit, 3.6 hearts damage (4 hearts); armour reduced to (272 – 2n?)

TANK = 2*6 potions = 12 hearts = 22 base hearts
20 points of armour (200% efficiency)

DAMAGE:
IRON = 6
DIAMOND = 7.5

Leather Gold Chainmail Iron Diamond
Helmet 34 68 67 136 272
Chestplate 49 96 96 192 384
Leggings
46 92 92 184 368
Boots 40 80 79 160 320

Finally got rid of bpermissions in favour of PermissionsEx. God that was a horrible plugin. Many thanks to bagheadinc for helping me move across all the players, groups and permissions!

We now have a creative superflat world and a skylands world, accessible by portal from the West side of spawn.
Creative world's inventory is completely separated from the regular world, but conversely, Skylands is not. That's to say, you can transfer as much as you like between Craftworld, nether, the end and skylands- but what happens in creative, stays in creative.

Note to Security: (That's Eoghan797, Octaviojrr, and now bagheadinc)

To promote a visitor to user, the command is /pex user USERNAME group set GROUPNAME
E.g. /pex user flamingemu group set user

Same applies to making user a visitor.
E.g. /pex user gameasertm group set visitor

I know I'm new here and stuff.. And I honestly don't know how this server works just yet, but I recommend banning potions in creative as well. They can get very annoying if someone spams you with them, and they can make people invisible and other stuff that can make it easier for people to grief. Just my opinion.2013-01-22 20:03:00

Security can now Jail, kick, ban, mute and set jails.
I'll work on the command to allow you to ban people from the creative world, but in the mean time just tell people to stop spamming potions or eggs - and punish them however if they don't. Eggs can be practical. No use letting the few ruin it for everyone else.		2013-01-23 00:14:00

If you honestly want your moneys worth don't buy a pre-made laptop and make one yourself, I know it sounds intimidating but it's actually quite easy with a few youtube videos and help from others.

Pre-made laptops in this century always come with great memory space, quality RAM, and they look nice, the thing they get you with is the crappy graphics card. Any laptop can browse the internet with ease nowadays, if you want to play Minecraft and TF2 then you should be looking for a computer with a good graphics card and at least 4 GBs of RAM. I don't really know much about laptops but this website (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/) is awesome. You can compare your graphic card on the website and find out where it is placed in terms of how good it is.		2013-01-31 05:47:00

They're a bit more expensive, and have a different OS than you're probably used to, but I'd recommend a MacBook Pro, maybe the retina display, but that doesn't have a disk drive, so I'd say the previous gen 		2013-01-31 07:01:00
