I really would like to know this. I have asked a few times, and nobody has said anything yet. PLEASE can someone that knows tell me the answer to my question? Is it possible for me to get a copy of a portion of the world we were on last full version (1.3.2) Please? All I want is the city of Tyre.

I'm afraid Memodrix has any and all backups, not me. If he has the 1.3.2 world and we decide to upload it via Multiverse, we'll do that. If you just want it offline, I'm sure he can email you the map file.

So... Umm... Why is there a floating rail system above my house that goes nowhere in either direction? Because I don't like it's location.

Ah, apologies about that. I had to put it somewhere so I could remove any artefacts and save the schematic. I will remove it later.

If we can install Shopkeepers, I can see that happening. But arguably it would be easier to find food than the clay needed for the bowl? Plus it seems a few people would rather have iConomy than Shopkeeper trades.

P.s. Just found out today that if you right click a mob with its egg, it makes a baby version of it. Cool huh?

Rei's Minimap (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/482147-142132125-oct25-reis-minimap-v32-05/) is what you're looking for. You can either install it like Optifine (Drag in to the jar) or put it in the mods folder provided by Modloader. It is compatible with near every mod.

Thanks. What happens if you've installed a mod and you want to play in a server that doesn't support it? Do you need to uninstall the mod, or does Minecraft automatically to the default settings for the time you're playing on said server?

Visual mods don't matter online.

This includes (But not limited to):

Rei's Minimap
Optifine
Inventory Tweaks
Advanced HUD
Unreal Shaders
Camera Studio
Zombes (Only if allowed by Zombes4Bukkit)
Xray mods (Banable offense on most servers)

If you use MagicLauncher (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/939149-launcher-magic-launcher-100-mods-options-news/) to install your mods, you can set up profiles and name them accordingly. This allows you to quickly switch from a mod setup that isn't compatible with SMP to one that is. It also allows you to change the amount of RAM that you launch with. Normally you launch with 500mb - 1gb. I launch with 16gb.

Eg: "Modded SSP 1.3.2" "Modded SSP 1.4.2" "Modloader" "Forge" Etc

I've looked for info on the page of the mod itself, but I can't find an anwser.

I've gotten Smart Moving on a server myself; It will appear as if you're doing the actions, but no one else can see them. Also, if you try to high jump, climb fences, etc. It will probably bolt you to the ground to prevent you from "Flying." But yes, you can have Smart Moving on servers.

By the way Mags, did you build that stone fence that passes right outside my hut and completely fences off the village? If so, either include me or keep the border at a reasonable distance from my home. It's annoying having a fence cutting right through the piece of land where you planned to build your stuff.

I've not worked out the best way to do the market yet. Whether to protect the lot so it can't be griefed, and have to set up signs for people, or just leave it open for anyone to claim chests and set up shops. So far it sells chickens and pigs, and will sell cows and mooshrooms, but these are obviously rather expensive.

I only need the Tyre section of it, and we will decide if we want to put it online on our server later, so the map file would be awesome. We just miss playing in out city.

We're not going to be able to take out a chunk of the map, that's more trouble than it's worth. Like I said, if Memo has the map, I'm sure he could upload it to Mediafire and put a link here for everyone, but I highly doubt he's going to have the time an patience to go in and cut out your bit.

wait... that was Warlords? why didn't he say anything when I asked him about it... I thought it was just someone who decided to play once then leave. Good thing I resisted burning it down then.

well um... sorry Warlord... but in all fairness I did leave signs lying around (and a dirt foundation) when I was offline to convey my intentions for the construction site.

I wouldn't really say any mod is 'essential' apart from Optifine. Personally I like mods that just add a tiny, awesome thing to the game. If this is what you're looking for, my favourites are 3D Items (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1252066-142-3d-items-new-updates-v15/), Back Tools (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1508046-144-back-tools-v1-sheathed-weapons-tools/) and Moar Achievements (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1551577-moar-achievements-redux-v110-updated-111012-forge/).

Yeah, think my favorite mod though was Mo'creatures because I love that it makes the world seem more alive and only a couple of actual game play things...

I wish I knew who's hut that was, maybe I'll never know now... maybe I'll have a monument in my tree city dedicated to it's history and build up a mythology around it... that could be cool.

There was a mystery hut in Tyre as well. That's what we did. made up a history of the area and wrote a book about it, making the hut the museum/landmark as if it was the first building in the area.

If I actually go on the server within 5 years (Or longer) where do I have to build my house? Do I like, claim some land or something?
Also, I have a habit of making deep earth holes by digging straight down, do I have to fill them up after I've collected my loot?

A. build anywhere that isn't physically taken up by somebody else
B. Up to you, if in remote areas not needed really, but if close to hubs like span it might be wise to cover them or at least leave a warning sign or something.

if the space in question has a block on it...

e.g bricks planks... anything that looks un-natural

...don't replace the block

Me building on GDN's ranch back in 1.0... good times. Yea, just build anywhere where there aren't other houses around; and if there are, get their permission to build. You can also build in Eoghans town or mine.

Erm. I'm not sure, just don't go overboard!

Also, can't change the item frames in the shop. Also, can't place item frames anywhere.

Probably to do with that area being protected by worldguard. I'll put those in for you.

Also, still can't place Lava anywhere.

The essentials config reset a few days ago, so it's probably back on the blacklist. I'll take it off.

Can't get online, there's a cross over connection sign and there's a red 1.4.2 number next to it.

Also, I miss my map. ;_; That was like the best map ever, everything was close to my base and I spawned next to a mountain cut into two parts, in which I built my base. I also had alot of pumpkins. I doubt I'll ever find such an epic map again. :'S I wrote the seed down but I can't find the paper anymore, I feel quite stupid now. >_<

EDIT: Wait, I get it. Update 1.4.4 is out, and the server is still 1.4.2 amirite? (Ooh, I'm so smart. :3)

also Memo is usually quick at getting the server updated, so no worries.

Mojang has a survey on their website at the moment, one of the questions is suggest a new mob, maybe they will include the popular ones... I suggested birds... because I want the ones from mo'creatures to be in vanilla =p

they are planning to release some of the more witty answers in a later announcement so if you see the question:

'if you could have anything in the world cooked by the best chef, what wold it be?'

with the answer:

'there's a big chunk of molten iron at the center of the world right?,,, guess I'll have that...'

And I kinda hate to ask a second time, but if someone would be so awesomesauce bro-fist coolio, to magic it back.. I'd be very graceful. :B

Importance of what I lost; Enchanted Diamond pickaxe (Fortune III, Efficiency V I think, Unbreaking III), 50-64 Iron, Diamond Sword (Unfortunately Enchanted with Knockback, which sucks..), Some Steaks, and infinity bow I planned to merge together with something better later~ The rest is crap like buckets and armour I can re-craft myself. :3

Remind me tonight, please, and I will try to sort everything then. I've added the ItemFrame placing perm again. If that doesn't work at all, and you can't place them anywhere, I really don't know..

None of the item death restore plugins have been updated. Except for one that doesn't allow you to only restore items on certain types of deaths..

because what could your single player world have that we don't...? you can do the exact same things on your world but it'll never change without your intervention... in reality it's your world that is more boring and it is static while ours is dynamic

I have a mediocre laptop, get about 25 FPS on the LBPC server (average 5 people online). With tekkit I still get around 25. Its not much of a difference, just put all Optifine settings on the lowest, fog off, and render distance on tiny.

Yeah, you need to install the Tekkit launcher online. Don't worry, you don't have to do anything to Minecraft, and can still get on LBPC without having to uninstall anything :3

you shouldn't be restricted to travelling to the nether as nobody owns it... make the portal anyway, if it cuts across land when you return then people will just have to deal with that for a few minutes while you evacuate... shouldn't even be a problem with /home

If I claim land in the Nether, it is the same as claiming it in the Overworld. I can choose who is allowed on it, and who isn't. Could you please explain to me why you cannot wrap your head around this?

I know my tree city gets visited all the time... do I stop people... no... because I don't own the land in any shape or form, it's a public space and so belongs to everyone.

What you nor anyone else has control over is where a nether portal takes you. If someone appears in your house, all they can do is LEAVE IT as quickly and as directly as possible. Should you facilitate that exit is up to you, but highly recommended if you don't want people staying in there for long. Your best bet? Make the portal outside your house.

I've disabled the set move flag, because it is an evil, evil flag. If for some reason it has become undisabled, and someone gets stuck in it, that person can type /res unstuck. But as I said, you need to facilitate the exit or move the portal outside.

They can teleport many places, but people CHOOSE not to, and we allow them to do so. It's why I've been building the entire railway system.

It's less a sense of chivalry, and more being concerned for other players that gladly wish to stay out of your home, but cannot because your portal gravitates them to it.

So just to make that clear;

I will try to sort the portals out. If that does not work, you will have to facilitate the exit of players, OR move your nether portal to somewhere you don't mind people popping out.

It's not really our fault either. We just want to visit the Nether without having to build a portal in the middle of nowhere.

I've shuffled around the nether portals after a few hours of painstaking work in the nether (God I hate Mojang for this). And now Your new portal links perfectly with your home. Mags', David's and Gameasertm's portals all also link up to their respective overworld portals.

If anyone makes any new portals that link to any of these,

a) I'm going to force lava so far down your throat that you poop obsidian,
b) both parties are going to have to get over it.

In other news, station W2 now has a subway underneath it, leading to CaveMan12345 and joeyjoeymc's island. Took me a long long time to make that and split it up into paste-able modules, cus WorldEdit throws a hissy fit whenever I try to paste any structure that is particularly long.

Warps for towns; would rather not. /tpa already makes it pretty easy, and I'd rather like the hours of effort gone into making the railway system actually be put to use. Not only that, but the more work one has to do for something, the more they appreciate it in the end. Basically walk or you'll get fat

Anyway, finally removed FrameProtect, which means you can place frames again, but they won't be protected... Residences should (but might not) protect them, though...

You can get to Jolifound by doing /res tp Jolifound, not sure if Eastwave or Colinwood have a res yet. But the act as warps and protect your land!

Item frames are cool and all, but they're not very practical to hang maps on a wall.

It's useful that these maps snap to a grid so that we can easily make these, but the frame doesn't cover the whole block, and the map doesn't cover the whole frame... so the map fragments look very tiny. Mojang should make it so that adjacent frames should snap together if they contained maps.

Due to the "/Res TP"'s springing up i'm going to consider making a warp system using the Command Blocks and Tripwires, It'll probably end up with a centralised hub though and pseudoportals to and from it.

Not at this time, but as the biggest client-only modifications are already covered (texture packs, splash screen text etc), it didn't seem necessary.

So, you have a place you want to res. Make a wooden axe, then right click the top corner of the place you want to res, then do a left click on the other side bottom corner. It should say "Secondary point selected" and "primary point selected" or something like that. Once you have the two blocks marked, do /res create <name>. Once you've made it, you just do /res tp <name you gave> and voila! You can also change where you teleport by doing /res tpset. There are other perms, but I don't use them.

Everything in that area is protected to you, so other people can't break stuff, build in there, steal things etc. You can tweak each individual "flag" too, which I'd recommend doing if you want to use pistons or have water flow when you place it.

Look up the Residence plugin online for more documents.

Guys, I wanted to warp to the market and the system told me I didn't have persmission to do it... what happened?

Memo had to reset the permissions to a few months ago, back when you didn't have permissions to warp at all. I'll add that to the list too.

Also, I can't place a painting in my house.

We were hoping FrameProtect would be working by now, but apparently not. Hopefully Memo can uninstall it again?

Items put in/removed before Blocklog was installed will not be on the log since it had not been created yet. If he lost the items beforehand, they would not be logged.

Btw, for those of you playing on my server... I would like to switch it over to Feed the Beast (http://feed-the-beast.com/). It's like Tekkit, but not exactly.

It's not the redstone update, they're still working on that. That one'll be 1.5. This is one they wanted done by New Year's and just are pushing it so they get there in time.

Anyone trying out the new snapshot: can you throw fireworks manually or can you only deploy them via dispenser? Because it'd be the coolest thing if we could use them as flares or smoke bombs (http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/14jhxq/i_was_wondering_who_wanted_black_and_white/), but it'd be a pain in the behind if we needed to set up a dispenser first.

EDIT: turns out you can use them both ways! So we can use them as distress signals... and wait patiently as no one shows up.

Turns out Sethbling forgot to mention this (http://youtu.be/QMKYss6zY2o?t=1m14s) in his previous snapshot video. Yes, you can now enchant books and then combine them with an item in the anvil. Basically, you can use the books to STORE enchantments and use them whenever you want, with whichever weapon or armor you want.

No more super-expensive diamond items wasted on an enchantment you don't need. No more dying and losing all your XP because you were holding out until you had diamond gear to use it on. Hell yeah!

It's like Tekkit, but has slightly different mods. It's also legal...

I personally like it better than Tekkit, as well. The biome mod (Extra Biomes XL) is much better than the Tekkit one. If you want to try it out, you can download the launcher here (http://feed-the-beast.com/) and join my server (72.51.43.74:27865). It's whitelist, so you need to let me know if you want to try it out.

I haven't played it personally, but from what I've heard they're both modpacks with similar mods but a few differences (e.g. FTB has Forrestry but no Equivalent Exchange (though I think I heard EE will be in FTB3)). Also, unlike Tekkit, in FTB you have the option to disable individual mods if you don't like them. Finally, FTB was made with the consent of the mod creators, Tekkit wasn't.

I dunno... Equivalent Exchange is a big part of Tekkit. And from what I hear FTB doesn't have the Redpowermod which is a must for any mod pack. The mini blocks and wires in Redpower should be part of the vanilla game.

Wut? They're the best part!

Decoration and detail are something that's completely inexistant in the vanilla game. With the small blocks you can make furniture, interior decoration, small objects and detailed statues.
Then there's the redstone alloy that runs up walls and along ceilings. And the colored wires that don't intersect when you put them near each other. Logic circuits actually cease to be a pain in the *** to build.

Wutchu talkin' bout? Have you never seen a FyreUK build? Imo, Equivalent Exchange and Redpower killed Tekkit. (That and the fact that they legally aren't supposed to be distributing it in the first place...)

When I say "detail", I mean "detail". As in, "decoration smaller than 1 cubic metre". Any build can seem detailed if it's gigantic in size and you're watching from far away.

How did these mods "kill" Tekkit exactly? Weren't they in Tekkit all along? Equivalent Exchange isn't very compatible with the theme since it's about magic, I'll give you that, but Redpower? It's about science and tech so it fits like a glove.

Oh, and do modmakers actually have legal rights over the mods they make? Mods don't have any copyright, and the users don't agree to any Terms & Conditions when installing said mods. Last time I checked, asking for permission was nothing more than a formality.

I have to agree with Snipy. Part of the reason I stopped playing Minecraft is because there just isn't much to do anymore. They need to have a massive update that just adds small details that will keep the game fresh and interesting. I like the recent updates, adding fireworks, item frames, things of that nature. But it honestly should not take one update to add a bat into the game. Especially when half of the new "updates" they bring to the game have already been implemented through mods.

I'm waiting for a massive update that will add:

Birds
Fishes
Small Critters (Mouses, Butterflies, Etc,)
More hostile mobs (Lions, Bears, Sharks, Jellyfish)
Monkeys
Snakes
Scorpions
Goats

Couches
Pool Tables
Lamps
Chairs
Benches
Coffee Tables
Clocks
Cabinets
Bathtubs
Showers
Kitchen Appliances
More plants

Sure, the list looks sort of big (and I stopped halfway through) but half of these have already been done before and it would not be hard at all for them to implement them if they really wanted to.

I'm not bashing on Minecraft, I love the game. I just wish the updates would come more frequently and would have more in them. The big massive updates are fine, but what about the small stuff that keep the game fresh and exciting each time you play it?

To their credit they've been adding a lot of cool stuff and there's going to be a big redstone update soon. Besides, the new team's work on the Mod API is bound to slow things down. It's just that there's a lot of awesome mods out there they could learn some useful features from.
