Anywho, after Frogboy we were griefed again yesterday. Mags decided by himself without our permission it would be okay to start building a lounge in the underground portion of our tower. I wonder how he got in as well, because the doors are locked and we sealed up all of the holes. I think an Anarchy world would be very appropriate for our server. It seems like "clans" (for lack of a better word) are starting to develop and Anarchy would be a great way to take out our anger and fascination with other people's items. HawkEye presented too many difficulties with something else we had installed, so Memo called for a replacement. I have asked to install the Guardian Alpha along side it to try that out, and if not, find another one completely, but I don't know where he is with that.

BlockLog can rollback too, and allows you to undo rollbacks at any time you like, because it names them (undo rollback 3 for example). It just doesn't do the whole map, by the looks of it.		2012-06-19 21:18:00

Can we just stop with the griefing now? Ive been griefed for the 3rd time; SF, Magfarm, and my Archer's Tower. This is the one server I can rely on to not get stolen from or griefed, and hey, look whats happening. And what sucks is that IM the only one getting griefed. Like I did anything bad :/ Can we just Ban the people that did this and move on? Im so sick of it. If it keeps happening Im done with this server.

I agree

Ask a mod and they will res your town and give it to you. Otherwise you'll get players claiming biomes again, which gets highly annoying.

And I'll keep looking for decent rollback plugins.

EDIT:

HawkEye kills the server lots
Guardian isn't done yet
BlockLog is utter rubbish
LogBlock.. What was wrong with LogBlock?

EDIT 2: I think we should try CoreProtect (http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/sec-admn-coreprotect-v1-42-fast-efficient-block-logging-rollbacks-1-2-5-r4.64297/), and if that doesn't do it for us, try LogBlock again.
Watching the video, this looks incredible. It's so much more efficient than the other plugins, it's so much faster, simpler, safer, more precise... and it doesn't even use SQL!		2012-06-20 12:04:00

You have to activate water spread within residences. It's enabled everywhere else.
/res set <resname> flow true

And we only need to add redstone torches and powered rails.

The railway seems to serve more of an aesthetic purpose than a functional one. With warps and residence teleports, the railway is pretty much obsolete as a means of transportation.

It isn't, but it's dang fun to ride on. Especially when people don't feel like teleporting and cheating!

Zipper elevators don't work on servers :/ Kern made a really clever elevator, but there's only so far the pistons could push, so you'd have to have a few 		2012-06-25 19:08:00

I tried placing some stairs but messed it up so it's really convoluted getting up there.

When I find a bigger mountain I will build another tower on top of it. They can be like a crappy version of the two towers of Mordor and Isengard.

Okay, I've never really built anything in Minecraft before, even though I've had it for quite a while now. I just built a recreation of my favourite (officially Mm-made) LBP sticker on the Bagheadinc server.

But I JUST got my first floor finished. It was going to be a beautiful, self-sustaining house that you could live in forever without ever having to leave. I guess I'll have to start over AGAIN. All this starting over was why I left before.

It'd be cool if we could store written books in actual bookcases. It'll look lame having a library wherein the bookcases are just for decoration and the books people wrote have to be stored in chests nearby.

Memodrix !

I generated this seed in 1.7.3 just for the next world, it's a decent size, and it has really cool forested ravine landscape. The only issue is that it doesn't have "full-release" strongholds, mineshafts, and jungles, but eh, those weren't any fun anyways. (If you really want, I could edit in ruins or something. :/ )

Also, I generated some indev floating islands and put it right into the level.

The worst thing about that is how he says #ValveTime (https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Valve_Time), what means it won't be 1st August.
Valve Time, for who doesn't know, is what Valve do when they are about to release something, but they release it later, or way later. Like they did on annoucing Steam on Mac. They said they would release it on start of April, but did it only on 14th May...
So this means Jeb said it'll be 1st August, but may take a month or two to release it actualy...

BTW, They did something even more absurd. On 1998 they said TF2 would be released 'soon...', then later said it would come way before 2005, but it actualy came out on 2007, 9 years after 1998.		2012-07-02 20:50:00

Hey, could somebody help me with Minecraft? This laptop (yes, LAPTOP) is having issues with java and "internet connection settings" when I try to re-install Java. It says that the installer cannot proceed with the current internet connection settings. I tried searching for what the problem was, but it certainly WAS NOT the Internet connection settings. They're all fine.

I also resetted my laptop to different times (like when I downloaded latest versions of Java). Whenever I click on In Browser to play, it loads with the Java sign on it, but it goes to a black screen (black screen of death?). This happens when I tried download the offline version of Java. When I hit the refresh button, it just says an error about Java and that's it. No details on what the error is.

Anybody know how to fix this for a laptop? Minecraft did work once with a decent amount of RAM and with little lag.		2012-07-07 14:57:00

And the reason no-one goes on the server is because of a loop. People see there's no-one online and decide they don't want to go online. Which is exactly what happens to the next person. And the next...

We could try signing on and going afk for 10 or 15 minutes while you grab some food, and that may be enough time to grab someone else's attention!

Note; never tell someone the server will be back up in 2 minutes. BeastNode will hear you and run as slowly as possible. e.e

I have to keep restarting the server every now and then, just so it'll run smoothly..

EDIT: The server won't go back up? The Start and Restart buttons refuse to actually put the server up D:
The console window won't load up either..

For this change, pistons now take 2 redstone ticks (4 game ticks) to expand, but they still retract instantly.

Just drag the new snapshot minecraft.jar into your bin folder in the .minecraft folder. It should tell you that there is already a file with that name in this folder, and will ask you if you want to replace it. Click yes.		2012-07-15 17:00:00

I got it to work. Here what I did for people with the same problem:

1. Force Update and then enter minecraft. Itll load a bunch of jars. Then exit minecraft.
2. Download the "client" for the latest snapshot.
3. Drag the new jar into the bin.
4. You should now have the old, fresh jar and the new fresh jar.
5. Drag the new jar into the old jar.
6. You will now have the new jar in the old jar if you open up the old jar with winrar or 7zip.
7. The new jar will be labeled "minecraft.zip"
8. Rename it to "minecraft.jar"
9. drag it back into the bin.
10. You should now have 3 jars. Delete all of the ones except the one you just renamed.
11. The one you named "minecraft.jar" should be the only one left. rename it to "minecraft".

Alright guys, I got a treat for ya.
Now, I wasn't even going to CONSIDER doing this until it was about 60% ready at least, but since I've gotten kind of lazy with it, I need some motivation. And what better motivation than to have the people I consider my friends tell me what the hell is wrong with what I make and make snappy remarks about my craftsmanship!

This map is an adventure map I had an idea for when constructing the things for my comic series.
I figured, why JUST make a big prop map for my comics, when I can actually make an adventure to go along with it?

Right now, It's pretty sloppy and not done.
But in the near future, it's going to have so much stuff in it that I'm gonna need to make a guide video for it.
It follows along side parts of my comic series (Still haven't posted any more of it yet >:C) and has a lot of things that will be just like the comic's story.

It's going to have every single town, village, cavern, sky castle, giant pillar thing that the comic will, plus a lot more side stuff for you to find. I plan on making a HUGE quest line for this map using the NPC mod by Noppes. But for now, it's only got ONE test quest.

But the quests aren't the reason I'm putting this map out there, I'd really like feedback on what I should add, whether it be Dialogues, Characters, Boss fights, areas, ect.
So I'm putting the map up for download so you guys can play it, and explore what I have made already.

Currently it has

WORKING Npcs that all have different things to say
4 villages
1 large corrupt zone to fight in
about 20 or so shops (Not working at the moment, but are still cool)
Bards
Hunter Npcs that guard the city (also kinda broken)
A Dragon mount that you can find
1 quest (average)
A pretty large landscape to travel on
Me. In bed. Almost naked. ;D




Just one thing you gotta do first.

Since this map uses a lot of mods, you're gonna need them...
But wait, before you get all nyyyeehhh about it, I have an easy solution! I have compiled my .minecraft folder with all the mods and texture packs installed for you, all you need to do is back up your file and move mine in it's place!

I'd really appreciate the feedback on the map, I've been working on it off and on for the past few months.
I also included some of you in the map, but as for everyone else... I didn't have the skin!
So if you'd like to be in the future releases of the map, give me your skins (Not in Jpeg form please)

Just unzip it, backup your current .minecraft folder, and make sure it's not in the roaming file when you place mine in there. The map is already there with a little setup for you to start adventuring with.
The map is actually pretty massive, I spent hours on World painter trying to turn the flatlands into something worth exploring.

Jeb's probably going to implement marble blocks (https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/227328218766655488) in the future. Good news for those who want to make Greco-Roman style buildings without having to use wool.

I need ideas for structures, and quests.

A few location ideas:

-A wizard community located on an arquipelago of floating isles. Or maybe a floating steampunk city. Because who doesn't like floating steampunk cities?
-A monastery build on the face of a cliff like the one in Uncharted 2.
-A huge Tree of Life.
-A university that serves as the headquarters of an order of scholars. Including: archives, the greatest library in the world and alchemy labs.
-A secret city hidden in a massive cavern, like this (http://digital-art-gallery.com/picture/big/557/oid/0/1600x920_557_The_Hidden_City_2d_fantasy_cave_city_ picture_image_digital_art.jpg). Surrounded by a maze of underground tunnels to ensure no one ever finds it (with the exception of the hero).
