| Everything I have built or destroyed in the past two days, and everywhere around it, has mysteriously disappeared/ been reverted to it's original state. My house. Is gone. My underground hideout. Is gone. Eoghan's house. Is gone. My forest. Is gone. HELP ME I AM GOING TO CRY. EDIT: Looking at the Dynmap, a 500x500 black square of what looks like unloaded chunks seems to now be surrounding everywhere I had built in. Could this have something to do with it? I'm super duper annoyed. The 'explored' area inside is everywhere that I walked around in before realising that something had gone horrendously wrong. | 2012-04-23 17:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
| I have a sneaking suspicion as to what happened. it appears that i may need to take some perms away from the mods. It was just a joke. I even told ATM that it was a joke Why wasn't I told of this? You were apparently | 2012-04-23 18:19:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
| Why wasn't I told of this? I left a note on the To Do board asking your opinion, because I felt we needed an active American Moderator, since Octavio barely has time to do so, and Josh is very capable of filling the gap. He's had plenty of experience being an admin on a larger server than ours, and is very familiar with all the commands. I believe I also sent you a message on LBPC too, though I've not heard back. In which case I thought it best to obtain Kernel's opinion on the matter, and then Mod him with a handful of witnesses around; and hoped you wouldn't see any problem with the situation. I apologise, and I'll be sure to obtain your permission on the matter before making any such decisions. As for Joey's situation, I have absolutely no idea what could have happened, unless it could have been a HawkEye rollback gone wrong, but when I partially ruined several of my OWN homes (and only mine) on my first try with the command, I decided not to rollback anymore. Don't abuse your powers, mods. Oh, and congratz on the Mod status, Josh ![]() He wasn't abusing his powers, he'd decided to take on a crash course in WorldEdit, so he could help fix things when I wasn't around. | 2012-04-23 18:41:00 Author: Weretigr Posts: 2105 |

Okay this is weird, your res is still there but everything else is completely gone.. I tried rolling back but it did nothing Okay I got a bit of it back but it's not that nice Oh, I know who did this. Kern...... ![]() Kern decided to make a "Lag Intensifier" which made me lag like heck, then created a something like a 125x125 iron bar sphere in front of my house, destroying my perfect waterfall covering my house, then created a huge lava fountain, poured water on it, creating a big cobblestone tower. Don't abuse your powers, mods. Oh, and congratz on the Mod status, Josh ![]() Actually your waterfall disappearing was nothing to do with me, and the "lag intensifier" as you call it only existed for about 10 seconds And again everything was returned to normal so why are you complaining? | 2012-04-23 18:53:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |

| Okay, I just want to say a massive thank you to Kern. He's spent the last hour or so fiddling with dials and knobs on his mod panel of magic, and after much trial-and-error, has restored my structures to their former glory. Let's hope Guardian will be better.Don't worry. I taught him the most basic HawkEye commands. Just the checking single blocks (chests, furnaces, destruction, placement, etc). You may want to teach him some basic rollbacks, though. And I taught him enough WE and WG that he won't *toast* anything up... Easily. ![]() | 2012-04-24 17:58:00 Author: Speedynutty68 Posts: 1614 |

Haha, you're joking right? ![]() Last time I tried to rollback one single block, I screwed it up, and despite my efforts to undo, HE restored every block I'd ever built then broken. (so tons of scaffolding everywhere, and random air blocks ruining my structures.) I'm not touching rollback unless it's a dire emergency. EDIT: I spent a while looking into it, reading the instructions thoroughly, and doing a safe test. I should be okay doing this now. Doesn't change the fact it's crap ![]() We could always look into giving Guardian a go, though. | I say, if there are no restrictions, no problem with it. And by restrictions I also mean things like making a diamond sword only to find out it is as efficient as an iron one because of your class. Class bonuses are fine and cool, but any restrictions is an instant no. | 2012-04-25 21:07:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

| Only all tools were unlocked. Ah my apologies | 2012-04-25 22:10:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
| Keep it. Think of this like an MMO, guys. That's what it's for. You choose your class and unlock specific things for it. It actually gives you something to do. It takes away from the monotany. You've had it for less than a week and you're complaining about it. Give it a chance to actually get used to it. If the class restrictions are the biggest problem, then we can get rid of that but keep the actual plugin. Or just add more classes for a greater diversity. Personally, I like it for all the reasons stated above. The only things I have against it is that there isn't enough of an XP penalty when you die and that the enchanting is broken. Other than that, I see no reason to get rid of it. | 2012-04-26 00:15:00 Author: Speedynutty68 Posts: 1614 |
| I would vote to get rid of it. I believe Minecraft wasn't made to be like a crappy MMORPG... unless you add some more RPG elements... then it would be like a mine-paradise. | 2012-04-26 02:13:00 Author: ALEXhatena Posts: 1110 |
| Ok this is starting to get serious so... Don't count my vote for or against it. I don't even get on the server that much anymore so I feel like my vote isn't really valid. | 2012-04-26 02:16:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
| ok i can understand the restriction thing, and that can easily be fixed. I'm trying to fix it so anyone can use alchemy/enchanting as normal, so that isn't an issue. however, I would still like to keep the scaling of weapons (warrior is good with swords, better with axes; rogues melt faces with bows, good with swords; mages arent' too great at any melee but can more literally melt people's faces) and i could probably get the default class to simply not have any changes whatsoever. so you'd have to CHOOSE to use the stuff from the plugin. If i can pull this off, would it get the twist out of everyone's collective undergarments? edit: on second thoughts, I'd still have all the passive skills (taming, woodcutting, mining, etc.) as all they do is make it a bit less irritating. | 2012-04-26 02:43:00 Author: Memodrix Posts: 879 |

| I have NO problems with this plugin at all except the restrictions. Take away the restrictions, and Im all for it. :kz: And yes, I think different classes should be better with swords/axes than others, but not so much as to the point where a diamond sword is only dealing one heart if you are a "Rogue". | 2012-04-26 03:43:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |
| I would vote to get rid of it. I believe Minecraft wasn't made to be like a crappy MMORPG. This is what I meant by not liking the new stuff. Things change and your stuff gets lost. You have, after all the hours you spent on a server, to start over. I think you could keep all the stuff if there were also an official vanilla server. All I want is a plain vanilla server, with maybe /home /sethome /back and teleporting to individuals by permission of that individual. | 2012-04-26 03:46:00 Author: Super_Dork_42 Posts: 1874 |

| I really like that it'll need leather, Mainly because I like having a crafting recipe that MAKES SENSE. And leather is super easy to get now, so it won't be much harder than it is now. But I'm really happy about writable books because that means I can finally make a Grand Library and have books with Fables, lores, tips, stories, and all sorts of stuff I can make to vent my creative urges. Also, werent writable books an original feature, but notch took them out really early on? MC Logic: Three books + Six plank blocks = 1 block, with around 72 books. Well, I guess that writeable books could be somewhat useful. Maybe they can make some kind of table where you can place public reading books, or even books that everyone can write on. You should be able to join straight away, whether or not you'll be able to build straight away I'm not really sure any more. But if you can't build, just tell a mod or Memodrix (they have [Mod] and [Admin] tags respectively before their names, pretty easy to spot) and they'll give you permissions. | 2012-05-07 18:35:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |

| I saw the 360 in action. It has a more console friendly-interface which is great, but it's very limited in comparison to the PC version. Only 8 players, smaller worlds, no creative mode, some of the more recent gameplay mechanics like the XP, enchanting, potion-making, hunger bar and so on are missing, etc. Also no mods or texture packs. It's good for those who can't play it on PC because beggars can't be choosers, but for those who already tried the PC version it's a huge step backwards. | 2012-05-10 10:01:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

At least they could be building it up bit by bit at a pace much closer to Mojang's. I didn't expect the 360 edition to be 100% up to date in comparison to the original Minecraft, but come on... Considering the time they took to make the port, it's kinda disappointing that it still looks like an early Beta! If you already got the PC version or if you have the means to play the PC version, then buying the 360 one is a waste of MS points IMO. Especially when there are other great XBLA titles out there, like Fez, Trials or Sine Mora. | 2012-05-10 11:08:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

Generally we only change if there's a major world generation tweak. Like when Jungles came out with 1.2. | I thought of an interesting variation of the "bookshelves containing actual books" idea. What if we could use written books in the crafting grid to make the bookshelves, so when we placed down the block and right-clicked on it, we could consult any of the written books contained in that shelf? To retrieve the books, just destroy the block. Then we could have actual libraries and no one would steal the books from the shelves unless they destroyed them. Although in the libraries where there's bookshelves everywhere, one would have to put up signs to label which bookshelf has written stuff in it. Or not. People could write down a secret message in a book, make a bookshelf out of it, put it in a wall surrounded by a ton of regular bookcases and give the location of the secret bookshelf to whoever they want to read the message. | 2012-05-18 10:09:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
If you want, I can remove the TP so anytime you want to visit a mushroom island you will have to spend 20 minutes in a boat. ![]() You can if you like I made a portal :3I thought of an interesting variation of the "bookshelves containing actual books" idea. But now I've re-read his idea, it might not be a bad idea to only let people READ the books, and not take them away. But perhaps that would be better as a bukkit plugin so that the owner of said shelf can access the books to sell them. | 2012-05-19 10:58:00 Author: Weretigr Posts: 2105 |

| I don't know, Kern. I'd be willing to sell gravel, saplings and other useless guff that you end up hoarding by the thousands, and then use the money to buy more useful stuff like iron and foods. And with the new coins, you wouldn't need currency mods in multiplayer servers! Although I think the Testificates shouldn't sell uncommon stuff like diamonds, ender pearls, and potion ingredients you get from the nether. Hunting for these rarer items is one of the thrills of Survival mode. And who knows, maybe in the future we'll have other kinds of testificates besides general merchants. Apparently the color of a testificate's robes or apron dictates its profession (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Testificate#Professions). | I'm sure that if they are implementing trading, they will make it useful now or then. Also, the coins will be useful as currency for vanilla servers (and even bukkit servers that fancy it). I do hope it takes a exclusive part in the inventory, like armor. Two things: testificates selling enchanted items (so you can get that silk touch pick by money other than luck), and selling books (that will become a pain in the botto to make, unless the drop rate of leather is increased). | 2012-05-22 00:41:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

The currency takes up precious inventory space. Or on a bukkit server you can have an economy where you can trade with players, the potential to trade with NPC's if a person makes that mod, and you can buy items from chests and receive money drops from mobs. This currency will never be as good as ones created by the community. | 2012-05-22 01:50:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |

What if the only way to obtain them is by selling stuff to NPC's? What if they have their own designated slot like gdn said? Many mp servers using existing ores as currency, which isn't ideal. Gold, diamond and lapis lazuli are too rare, coal and glowstone dust are too common, redstone and iron are too useful. This is the kind of thing that needs to be done by Mojang if we want it to universal and properly balanced. | 2012-05-22 02:20:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

| Im pretty cool with the catacomb idea, probably wont use it a whole bunch. But, if we had a choice between a bunch of different plugins for the server, I wouldn't choose it. | 2012-05-22 14:21:00 Author: DominationMags Posts: 1840 |
| Perhaps only mods should be able to make them, then? Because otherwise, everyone can just make instant houses, and have instant goodies wherever they are, and of course destroy people's creations with the catacombs. I propose bringing Mcmmo back, and you and I can sort the configurations out to make sure they're all equal. If, with testing, we find that there are still unfair aspects, I can easily go in and fix it up. But in general, I think the server was more fun with mcmmo. Definitely familiar, too. I'm looking into the specs and configs now, and already I can see that all blocks that aren't ores (mining) should produce the same amount (30), as should all kinds of logs (woodcutting) etc. (for example, herbalism is massively overpowered, but Kernel and I can work out a fair XP amount for everything.) | 2012-05-22 14:41:00 Author: Weretigr Posts: 2105 |
