I got the game when the server crashed and he made the offline client available, so I can't go online or update, which means none of that cool biome stuff.

I finally got past the point of getting bored after making sticks, so now I've got a nice cavern home that has lots of iron and coal deposits. I'm also making an underground tree farm.

My first play save been broken, but now on 2nd computer generated me a beautiful mountain that that makes arch, ideal fundaments for in mountain house ^^ i will do screens later

I was playing today, mining in a huge cave that I have been exploring for a while here and there (it's also easy to get lost there, lol )
Well, I looked at one area where there was a lot of dirt and I decided to make a shovel and dig out all the dirt... after digging for a while I FOUND DIAMOND!!!!
7 chunks of diamond all in one place!
(also, I digged around those fancy diamonds just to make sure there wasn't anything unwanted like lava underneath)

That save is on the school computers, I have to transfer it home some day, my saves at home aren't really worth anything compared to what I've played in school during free time 		2010-11-18 18:42:00

Sorry for double post, but must tell of this story-

I was on my brothers save, and turned it on easy for fun. I was standing at his window, waiting for creepers. Just as i was about to give up, 5 creepers spawned randomly. I then wanted to go out and take them on, but then about 10 zombies and a few skeletons, and a spider. Then in the morning I went outside to take out those creepers. It failed. RIP brothers minecart track...

Hey guys. I'm currently addicted to minecraft like breathing to live. I have descovered a minecart duplication trick that makes 1 cart become 2, 3, or 4 depending on how you do a trick. later today i will show you all via youtube. I played a free version of this game. I built giant towers and a wall of which I could use to pick off enemies. The end.

K, so it's snowing a lot in scotland and as a result I've had several days with no school and nothing to do.. So I'm building a massive city, using INVedit.

I'd love to have done this legit, but there's no way I'd get enough materials, especially not the obsidian and gold. Oh, and that brown structure in the middle is actually gold, but cartograph rendered it brown for some reason. This took over twenty hours, even with cheats; the main time waster was flattening the insides of the walls. >.< I'm hoping to have it finished certainly before Christmas, and to have a massive amount of buildings squished inside the walls.

Oh, um.. If anyone's that interested, I have a folder of around 40 pictures of the various stages of this project, I can send a few if anyone is so inclined. :3		2010-12-03 12:56:00

I never said that. :L I think the cheats are absolutely fine as they are, and if you want a creative mode, turn peaceful on?

Minecraft Beta: December 20, 2010

The next epoch is upon us! The skies are trembling, pigs are growing wings, and the nether is turning awfully cold, as Minecraft slowly crawls out of Alpha..
Minecraft will reach Beta status on December 20th, 2010.
With Beta comes a larger focus on polish and content, and we?ll start early on with adding proper modding support with a stable API, and we?d love all input we can get on this from the modders out there. We?ll also add some kind of non-intrusive narrative to the game to help drive the game experience early on, and to provide some kind of late game goal. There will be a bigger focus on testing and stability as well, with more time between updates.
When the game enters beta, the price will rise to 14.95 Euro.

We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

Soon, you will be able to buy gift codes for Minecraft, perfectly timed for the holidays! Even better, if you buy those before December 20, accounts created from these codes will count as alpha accounts, and will receive all future updates for free.
And the next game update (with server-side inventory) is coming next week, before Beta

I been playing this in single player. it's fun. But the baddies really frighten me:
I went to remove a block of dirt to swap it out with glass, I remove the dirt, turn around briefly to add glass to my select-list, turn back....

I found a dungeon today... it had a spider spawner. I hate spiders. Well I managed to go there, kill the spiders, place some torches and then destroy the mob spawner. Then I mined all the mossy cobblestone because I'll use that when I build a new big house (current one is just a little hole in a mountain)

not much. herobrine was part of an old creepypasta on the mnecraft fourms. he would appear in singleplayer games. (players) reported that maps he appeared in had several items that only a player could make like pyramids. posting about it on the fourms caused the thread to be deleted quickly. and doing it a lot would cause you to get a message from him telling you to stop. his page would 404 if you tryed to see it. and he was somehow the ghost of notchs brother.

As I went deeper and deeper I realized I may never find a way out, then there were lots of skeletons, spiders and creepers... oh boy...
I have never really been that scared in minecraft, I had just found four pieces of diamond and I couldn't find a way out.
Then I found the weirdest thing ever down there in the cave... A NETHER GATE! Seriously, wat? I had never been there before but there was a fully working nethergate. I entered, it spawned me at the normal nether gate I use. When I went back to the normal world, I was right next to my house. Well, at least it's a handy way of getting back up. Oh btw, I died a little later when I got to the surface, a spider and a zombie attacked me at the same time and I only had 3 hearts and no food... Wow that's a total freak occurrence. I don't think nether gates appear in their entirety naturally, it must've been the chance creation of obsidian in exactly that shape and the remaining lava lit the gate.2010-12-14 16:35:00

It was working and all, and it was standing in an empty room with the bottom part inside the ground like those that are automatically created in the nether. I have to say it freaked me out when I saw it, because I was pretty deep underground and had never been there before		2010-12-14 17:11:00

Minecraft creative space is good too, and probably appeal to a very different type of play. Although the survival mode is essentially a sandbox game, a creative space is smaller and play several instruments. Its very fun and creative is a good way to model objects, so that would not otherwise have.2010-12-16 07:39:00

I started a brand new world, it's epic!
There are lots of beatiful mountains with deep natural caverns and other stuff.
Then there was this... I managed to get one of the creepers to explode and then I killed the rest with a block of tnt, yay!

that herobrine vids got me more creeped out than a creeper D: I started a new world and noticed a floating odd almost man-made like object and looked at it abit weirded out and when i turned around a cow seemed to be taking the same interest in me, it startled me also has anyone else encountered a problem with freeing the mouse of the screen? hitting alt brought up the menu and freed the mouse, I checked another page, when I came back none of the keyboard keys would work with the game, hitting alt would free the mouse of the cursor but not the screen and wouldnt bring up the menu and wouldnt move using WASD or arrow keys 2010-12-20 21:25:00

If I recall correct, it was done before to no success. It didn't have enough support and the hosty guy wasn't good enough.

If you go to your folder with all the server stuff, then open the file 'server.properties' in notepad, there should be a line saying 'server-ip' if there is something beside that, use that, if not, go to some site that tells you your IP (I can't think of one of the top of my head.) and then use that. For us though, we would need the IP followed by the port you are using.

Ex. <IP>:<port>

EDIT: as for your spawn problem, you can delete everything inside the world folder (all those folders with numbers and stuff) disable the nether, then start up the server again and you should have a new world.		2011-01-01 22:47:00

I closed the server, for some reason when I get it to work I have to change the port range from 25564-25565 for it to work when it was initially 25565-25566. But now when I do that it tries "Starting Minecraft server on 127.0.0.1:25566" When that obviously isn't the server we were on, why did it change? When I do change the port range it starts it on the right server but I'm no longer the admin, and the welcome screen doesn't come up or anything.		2011-01-02 02:02:00

It was night. I sat in my little home in the side of the mountain, proud of making a shelter in so little time. Outside I heard the screams of everyone dieing (and Whaaale's wooden house (which he built next to a lava pool) burning). Then my 3-year old cousin started singing 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town'.

127.0.0.1 is your computer, so if you want to connect to a server that your hosting, you can type 127.0.0.1 or 'localhost'.
I'd recommend you keep the default port range as Minecraft gets very finicky when you mess with special settings. When you get into the level, you may have to re-op yourself or check the settings where the .jar file is located.

Oooooooooooh my goddddd

Just came back from mau5ville (Deadmau5's minecraft server)

That place is soooo packed, it caps at around 64 people and it's almost always full during the day. It's so energetic and weird, it's a mini 4Chan gaiz. It's srsly crazy.

I'll set up a server later thats hosted on Hamachi, you'll all have to download hamachi real quick but it'll be hosted by them meaning their IP and their connection, since my internet provider is pretty dodgy at the moment. Hmm, so apparently Clay is in my server and he can see what I'm writing but I can't see what he's writing. This is strange care to help anyone? Also I have no idea how to re-op myself.

Nevermind I was logging in through the 127. IP, when I should be using my computer's IP, Fail on my part. Anyways me and Clay are on, get on EVERYONE.

He shut down the server. I can't get it up anymore. What an *******. By the way I was trying to IP Ban him but I couldn't find his IP, it wouldn't let me look at his for some reason. So you should understand these things before running off your mouth, you just join servers, but don't have the capability to make one so you obviously don't understand.
