I had my parents bring my PSP down thinking I could charge it from a USB but there's 0 charge in it and you have to be able to turn it on to charge it from the USB port. So no PSP for a while .

Played some Knytt today, it's pretty good though I don't really "get" it... it seems to be about exploration more than anything but the speed of the character's movement makes it a breeze and it's pretty fun. Can be hard to find the stuff you're looking for though.

Also got past the level that was annoying me in Jumper Redux (Original). Now another one that is around 10 times harder has come up... you have to do about 15 jumps in a row getting all the arrows and avoiding the yellow electricity.

Played some FLaiL too. It's pretty fun actually once you get used to the speed of the movement. On world/level 5 at the minute, when they introduce the green areas.

Gonna play some Morrowind now . I love being finished exams .

Well a lot of the ones I'm playing at the minute are freeware platformers . Jumper, FLaiL, Knytt are a few of them. Should try them out though Jumper in particular is extremely punishing... though fair. Knytt is sort of an adventure one that's much much less punishing and more enjoyable to play if you aren't in the mood for a difficult game.

I assume you know what Morrowind is though?

Played some Oblivion last night, sold most of my loot! Have around 40,000 now . Decided I could buy it back if I ever wanted so I may as well.

Also tried the Zen Pinball demo, it's really fun! Considering buying it. And Infamous is a must-buy but I knew that already .

Almost finished Garden 7 in Pixeljunk Eden. Have 4 Spectra and then I'll go for the 5th and try to open all seeds on the way... that's gonna be tough!

Played a good bit of Oblivion, decided to finish the main quest before I play Shivering Isles, can't wait! Oh and the main quest isn't as bad as I thought, the Oblivion gates do change quite a bit!

Played a tiny bit of Fallout 3... I'm not sure that I'll ever truly enjoy the game when playing it, makes me a bit less excited about the DLC .

Infamous demo (I'm buying the full game tomorrow)

Trying to beat all COD:W@W levels on veteran but I have learned that this game is stupid. So I am standing way behind all my guys, and then the enemies start running towards me while my team mates are just sitting there not shooting them at all.

On the fourth level, I am laying down, way up on this building, and the machine gun guys decide to shoot me when there are tons of people thirty feet in front of him.

It's been a while since I've updated what I'm playing. I've been getting into a lot of PSN content, both full games and demos. Let me see now...

The World Ends with You (Nintendo DS) - It's just an amazingly well polished game. You collect stuff and beat up monsters... but every single detail is just incredibly well thought out, including giving you experience while you are not playing and rewarding you for being in mingle mode (searching for other players wirelessly) while having the game in sleep mode. Highly recommended for all DS users.

PicPic (DS) Why yes, I'm still playing it. I think I've done about 800 of 1200 puzzles now. It just does not get old this game.

My Japanese Coach (DS) I've seen and tried all sorts of "langauge games" in the past, and this is the best I have seen. It's relatively well thought out in terms of structure, but the way the "games" work really help cement what you are learning. Add in the use of the microphone and stylus to help reinforce your own writing and speaking techniques, and you have a really solid program. I'd highly recommend it for DS users considering or actively studying Japanese.

Wii Fit (Wii) - Yes, I know it's an old game, and it is limited in what it does. But what it does, that being reinforcing and encouraging exercises, it does well. Yes, the number and types of exercises are limited, but what I need with my health is to be active more in a structured and reinforced way, with light aerobics to keep my heart going, and deep muscle stretches and exercises, which is where I have problems. I'm glad I am getting back into this.

Bejewelled 2 (PSN) - I played this a tonne on PC and 360. Match 3 just never gets old, and the new game modes are interesting to see.

Magic Ball (PSN) - If you take it from a mechanics point of view, it's just another brick breaker game. But it's really nice to look at and fun to watch, and the power ups and interesting and challenging, including negative as well as positive ones. It's just great fun.

Zen Pinball (PSN) - I'm not a super pinball wizard, but the attention to detail and recreation of real physics in this game is absolutely amazing. If you have a passing interest in pinball I'd recommend to at least check out the demo of this one.

I've been trying some other demos on the PSN as well. I'll mention the good ones: X-men origins: Wolverine (great sense of combat); Infamous (great attention to morals and immersion).

Two I have mixed feelings for are Savage Moon. I'm still trying to work out whether it's good or not. The first mission is great, the second one not so good. You can't start at the second one so it's hard to gauge. Burnout paradise is great from what I saw as well, but the demo is way too short and it's really slow to retry an event in the demo.

One that was not so good was Iron Man. The controls were really floaty and the graphics left a lot to be desired. I'd love to see the same team do a sequel with twice the development time and less forced movie tie in, as it's got good potential but just felt too rushed.

I've still got a tonne of demos to try, so that's what I'll likely be doing. I'll probably try and obtain the full game of Wolverine some time soon.

Oblivion. Level 22. Finished Aid for Bruma... then realised it was optional... still got some nice Transcendant Sigil Stones for my trouble .

Think I'll end up finishing the main quest but saving it before it's finished so that the Oblivion Gates remain open, just in case I want to keep playing once I've finished Shivering Isles.

Good then that demo is completely outdated. You can now restart event with the press of a button. : )
The online community is one of the best around, too.

Go buy it, it's great.

EDIT: Just started, the first glance after the first room gave off a very Morrowind vibe! Really cool!

Playing Dead Space (on Chpt 11!), some LBP (finally finished the create tutorials... have an idea for a level... maybe, just maybe I'll make my first one), good bit of Wipeout HD, some Burnout Paradise (really want that Elite license).

After I'm finished Dead Space I'm gonna go back to Prince of Persia and get the Platinum .

Finished Dead Space... absolutely INCREDIBLE game! Playing through again now to get a few more trophies . Played using only the plasma cutter first time through so having a blast using the other guns now. I'll try to get all the trophies except for the Tier 3 Engineer one... finish on Impossible mode. **** that's gonna be incredibly tough. Might leave it for a while. Anyway once I have that done I'll probably try to get the Prince of Persia Platinum and then move onto Bioshock.

Also going to have a go at making my first LBP level soon... it's been a long time coming!

I had faith...

This is how I see it, by the time they have the rights and funds to start working on it again...
They are going to consider it outdated and start the entire thing from scratch....again.

Perhaps in another ten years, we will see the Duke once again.

It won't have to be from scratch, I think they are at a point they are really happy with with the engine, gameplay and storyline. Any changes they'd have to do are purely aesthetic, and wouldn't be insignificant, but wouldn't be freakishly long either.

Anyway, as to not derail the thread:

Metal Gear Solid 4
and gonna try to see how SWGEmu works, miss that game.

I'm currently playing LBP and Burnout Paradise. Got Burnout Paradise for ?14.99 at Gamestation in the UK a couple of days ago and it's the best ?14.99 I have ever spent! I must admit I am a hardcore trophy hunter and I am currently on 48% for it, most of the main game trophies are mine so the Platinum should come soon. Just got to get the online trophies now which seem easy enough!

Started playing around with a few new concepts in LBP yesterday and since playing I'm very tempted to buy all the new costume packs for some reason...

No its pretty much the same as the PS1 version, however, not having to change discs and being able to put it on your PSP is worth it alone xD

If it's 60 gigs, then it has a PS2 built in- well, at least in America... so yeah it should.

Anyway, LBP and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 recently.

It's a long list... be ready... And yes, I am playing all of these games within a one week period.

My Nintendo DS Lite recently died on me so I have upgraded to the DSi. It allows you to download small (ish) games at a relatively cheap price as well as letting you play DS games. The downloaded DSi games I am playing:

Sudoku 150! - It's actually got some reasonably challenging puzzles, it's the main "mini game" I'm playing

Aquite - Hard on the fingers, a varient on the "Match 3" meets Tetris idea. Not that bad a game, challenging on harder levels.

Code - A maths based matching puzzler. Not too bad, and fairly complex.

PiCOPiCT - A descending block game where you use colours you match to make pictures. Quite hard but good as well.

Animal Crossing Clock - Not technically a game, but it's better than the DSi system clock.

Now then, DS proper games I am playing:

Animal Crossing: Wild World - After an 11 month break I am back playing this game. A hard game to describe as it's relatively unique in the gaming world, but a tonne of addictive fun.

100 Classic Book Collection - Again, not technically a game but a DS e-book reader program. They have some great literary classics in their long list of books, including some I have read and enjoyed and some I have always wanted to read. At the moment I am reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". Great reads. Not only can you read the 100 books that cover a wide range of genres and tastes, you can also download new books as well to read, and rate them for others. It's quite a solid program.

My Japanese Coach - Another "non game" game which teaches you Japanese. I think I am up to lesson 23 now, and it's starting to get hard as the vocabulary increases and grammar structure is brought in.

Rhythm Heaven - I love Rhythm games. This has a hole stack of them, and they are quite unforgiving. If you can't keep the beat it might not be good for you to play, but if you can, it's got a lot of fun, variety and replay to it.

Now for PS3 stuff...

Guitar Hero: World Tour - Yes, I'm still playing this game. I'm maxing out on most of the instruments in terms of my own skill level, but this is where the game gets good in that it pushes you to improve even more.

LBP - It may seem odd for me being a moderator for a LBP to write this, but I took a long break from this game and I'm trying to get back into this. It's just as fun as what I remember from when I started my break.

Trash Panic - It's hard and challenging, but a lot of fun. I've just gotten onto the final level of easy mode and level 2 of normal difficulty.

Zen Pinball - Despite my many, many years of gaming, this would have to be the most accurate pinball game I have ever seen, both in terms of game play, graphics, and customisation. It's a whole lot of fun!

InFamous - I'm about half way through the "good" side of the story. I'm absolutely loving this game and thouroughly recommend it for people who are looking for a game that actually represents morality choices in a realistic way.

Finally, on the Wii I am playing 2 games:

Wii Fit - It's been over a year since it came out, but it's still good. I don't play it every day due to health or time reasons, but it well matches my health and capabilities when I'm not having a bad or busy day. I might give EA's Active a try though if I can get it at a good price.

Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City - Yes, I know I'm playing the DS version of this game, and essentially they are the same game. But it's so good, I play it on two different consoles at once!

---

I'm also working in a Beta which I can't publicly mention as well as playing on a web based board game site.

Been playing a good bit of Fallout 3. I started a new character and played for about 14 hours and loved playing it. And now all of a sudden I couldn't be bothered anymore. What the hell is it with this game that I love it some days and hate it others.

Spent ages trying to find stuff for the railway rifle (couldn't find a pressure cooker and then found 7 in Minefield ) and it's cool but ammo it nowhere to be found. I have like 18 spikes.

Also I've focused only on a few skills like Small Guns and Repair which is great but has actually made the game a bit easy. Especially since I'm buying all the ammo I can get and still have like 2000 to spend... I'm starting to see why people called the game easy. Hopefully I'll come to a bit soon that'll kick my *** a few times and bring me back down to earth.

I got Resistance 2 on special for $50 (usually $120) today.
It's not really my cup of tea, but I couldn't pass up that deal
Plus it might be good playing something other than LBP 24/7. ha.

Well, I'm playing LBP, obviously, and I just restarted Kingdom Hearts for the nth time (on Expert this time, o mai). After I finish that, I'm going on to Re: Chain of Memories and KHII. I also sometimes mix it up with some Final Fantasy VII or X, along with some CellFactor (you know, that PSN FPS that's totally amazing and NO ONE bought).2009-07-06 15:56:00

Played and finished Children of Mana on DS. Took me 24 hours over a few days time. Advice - even if you're a fan of the Mana universe - DON'T try this one. It's beautiful and the music is great but the gama is and I am not exaggerating 90% grinding. Same sh-- over and over. Not kidding. Downloading Monkey Island 1 remake on xbox now.2009-07-15 18:46:00

Played a good bit of Fallout 3. Have most of the trophies, reached level 20 now so I'm considering maybe not playing it again until Broken Steel comes out as I doubt there's enough quests in Broken Steel alone to bring my character from level 20 to level 30.. Not sure though.

Also playing a lot of Pixeljunk Eden. Have Garden 9 almost finished, 4/5 Spectra. Also have a few in Garden 11 done. Game can be very frustrating. Just when you think it's gotten annoyingly hard, they make it even harder. Getting all the seeds in Garden 8 was such a pain. Still great game, lasts a VERY long time. Wish it showed how long I'd played it for. It's probably about 20 hours or more by now. If anyone hasn't bought it yet and lives in the US or can buy stuff from the US store, it's only $4.99 at the minute. Definitely well worth the money!

Played a little Pixeljunk Monsters and I played a little Monster Hunter for a while and while it's good, I don't think it's good enough to keep playing it. Glad I got a lend of it and didn't buy it .

Considering going for the Dead Space Platinum. Have all the trophies except the one for finishing Impossible mode. Not sure if I'm in the mood for that much frustration.

I love everything about Nuts & Bolts but after some 30 hours, 94/136 jiggies collected I'm done with the game. The timed challenges gets too frustrating later on. I'd love it if the game was more based around exploration and puzzles in the actual game world rather than the different challenges. But I did open up the last world and beat the end boss Gruntilda so I have actually finished the game. I just didn't collect everything.2009-07-24 20:40:00

Been playing more Monster Hunter and I'm starting to like it more and more .

Also bought Shatter. Very enjoyable game though quite easy. I've had it a day and have 66% of the trophies. It isn't very difficult to finish the game. Probably should have made it a bit harder. Though the game is perhaps at a level of difficulty that is the most enjoyable to play without it getting frustrating.

Played a good bit of Burnout. I'm about 70 wins off my Elite License. I have almost all of the races done.

Also I bought Singstar but the mics haven't come yet. I wanted the wireless mics and they were out of stock when I ordered. Still awaiting stock . I do prefer the menus and presentation to Lips though and there is a far greater collection of downloadable songs in Singstar.

Played a few demos, Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman, which seemed enjoyable enough. Could imagine it getting very addictive. Also tried the Crystal Defenders Demo, seems like a very enjoyable Tower Defence game. I like the way the characters can do melee attacks and actually move instead of being completely stationary like most units in TD games.

That's about it.

I'm playing Singstar mostly at the minute. It's harder than I though it would be, definitely harder than Lips. Or maybe my expectations are too high. Anyway it's a great game, gonna download some songs off the store today.

Let me tell you, you will not be impressed with the game as well if that is the case.
I for one thought the game was a huge dissapointment. Catching 30 ghosts in a row isn't fun.....it's boring!!

At least the humor and the nostalgia factor are great.

Got Gears Of War for the PC. Man... it's so so boring. Ill keep trucking to see if there's more to it other than run/duck/shoot/run/duck/shoot/etcetcetc. Not only that, but the story so far is terrible. I have no clue what's going on. Aliens? Mutations? I don't know. Also, the characters, particularly the main guy you control are the most boring characters known to man. I hate them. No personality. Just another testosteroned up guy with a gun.
At least it runs at 60fps on everything max'd out. Even then I have to get another program involved to actually get v-sync working.

Completed Mass Effect on PC last week which was awesome. Will go through it again at some point. Completed both Crysis games, Bioshock, very far through GRID, always playing Left 4 Dead and loving the Batman Demo. Will definitely get it. Also, got Fat Princess on PS3 which I've barely touched yet Had a great time on my 1 play session though

At the moment I'm focusing on Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, I think I'm up to 85 hours now. I'm still playing Animal Crossing: Let's go to the city as well as Wii Fit to help improve my fitness. I'll occassionally play Wii Sport Resort for something a bit different.

On the DS my main "game" is 100 classic books collection. The main book I am reading is the Count of Monte Cristo. Quite a gripping story. I'll also sometimes read Romeo and Julliet to change things up a little. It's quite a passionate story.

What the!! Get out of my brain, man!!

I started Drake's Fortune Saturday and finished it yesterday!!

NO I'M NOT KIDDING!

Same impressions EXACTLY. I remember totally digging the game, but by the end of this go around, I got so sick of the running and gunning. Just really repetitive... The game teases you by presenting you what appears to be an adventure game with lots of exploration, ICO-style platforming, and a bit of duck-and-cover shooting.

By the end, you have to concede that all it really is is yet another shooter along the lines of Gears of War, just gussied up to look like there's more to it. Disappointing!

Still a gorgeous game though, with some fun to be had.

^I disagree, i loved Uncharted! Third playthrough FT.. wait, I haven't completed my third on yet. uh.

was playing infamous for AGES. I absolutely love that game, fingers crossed for a second, Sucker Punch! I have 1 blast shard left... *cries* can't find it... *cries more* anyways, very close to Platinum. Mind you, I'm very close to Platinum on LBP, Uncharted and Burnout as well. I just can't get a darn PLATINUM TROPHY! GRHRAH!

*ahem*

Now I'm playing Resistance 2's epic Campaign. Epic. Only on Twin Falls on Difficult, but I wanna get the OMGWTFBBQ?! trophy because I'm going for Platinum baby!

Exactly.. another run and gun basically, with the occasional twinkle (treasure) in a dark corner. I liked the jumping from ledge to ledge but even that got old.

I will say though that it was good enough for me to finish it. There are some that just wont hold my interest. Resistance Fall of Man has not been out of its case since I played it the first day.

I never played through Resistance 1 in solo. I did, however, blast through it in co-op split screen.

I LOVES me a co-op split screen game. LOVES ME. Grabbed RE5 on day one just for that alone. There're few games I have more fun with than co-ops when I can have a buddy in the room with me playing through it.

Shortly before Resistance 2 came out, I started playing through the first one in solo just to sort of brush up on it.

Didn't finish it. Cool concept, some great graphics... I just could NOT stay engaged.

you know what, i think I may take the risk and create a "down with shooters" thread. Don't get me wrong, I played through Modern Warfare 3 times, and looking forward to the sequel as much as anyone. But I feel like Uncharted, and even Bioshock, were lesser games than they could have been because making a shooter is such a "safe" bet these days.

LOOM and Indiana Jones and the fete of atlantis.

Indiana Jones is good... as long as you have gamefaqs open while playing

LOOM is good but is the most tedious game I have ever played. You are actually recomended to take notes of events in the game and look over them later to solve puzzles... But is still good... if you have patience... and gamefaqs open!

XOP Black (a really good freeware shmup game)

Audiosurf (a music rhythm game with a Wipeout racing feel to it that let's you use any song you have from comp, CD, or whatever for the track you play to. It reads the song and lays the track out accordingly)

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix on PC...not as good as the original, but still pretty addicting... getting fallout3 GOTY next... been playing all my old games again:

flower, Bionic Commando Re-armed, eden, BioShock, GTA4, MGS4, Oblivion, Orange Box

one game I'll always miss playing tho after I sold my 360... was Mass Effect... I'm a RPG addict... unfortunately for me, theres not a very big selection lately... yet (hopefully FFXIII won't let me down next year) ^_^

None really. Busy with college... I have my PS3 and all my games down with me and I've barely touched the thing, barely wanted to touch the thing... very strange.

Played a bit of Bionic Commando Rearmed the other day and that's about it.

That'll probably change when Uncharted 2 comes out though.

lol... maybe true for the single player... but MW2 has evolved alot in multiplayer, and the new spec ops is good too.

I'm playing Manhunt 2 and MW2 both on PC atm.

SO glad Manhunt 2 came to PC, it's a fully uncensored version. I'm a huge fan of the series. Weapons that were taken out are also back in, like the pliers. Just a shame they didn't release it in UK. I would of bought it! Oh well, I got the game and they don't get my money - their loss :/

Lol, since my PS3 commited suicide I've been dowloading WiiWare and virtual console games to keep myself occupied. I'm currently playing an obscure title called Toki Tori, which is quite simply the greatest puzzle-platformer ever made, bar none. The levels in this game are serious brain twisters that can potentially take hours to figure out, and the immense feelings of personal achievement that it brings to those who have dedicated their time to fathoming it's depths are practically unparalleled. Unfortunately, most folk here either don't own Wiis and many others would never consider playing a 2-D platformer that doesn't have the letters L, B and P in the title.

Well, hard cheese...it's your loss!

Being a "Colorful, unrealistic, borderline kiddy game character" purist, I havent had much experience with the Metal Gear series. I bought MGS the Twin Snakes soon after Snake was shown in the very first Super Smash Bros Brawl trailer, because I am a naughty naughty bandwagoner. I wasn't to thrilled with it, but I still thought it was a good game...

Last Month I got my first PSone classic, The Original version of Metal Gear Solid. The controls took some getting used to, but I enjoyed it much more. The Music is MUCH better than Twin Snakes, that's for sure. I whittled away at the game little by little.

The day after I beat it, I bought MGS 2 and 3. I blazed through 2 in a near nonstop session of gaming. It was still a great play, but something about the story made me feel disgusted and confused. I almost feel like it ruined MGS 1 for me... almost. Im playing MGS 3 now, and buying 4 tomorrow.

I'm playing through Batman AA on hard mode at the moment, to get that platinum trophy. I don't usually go for platinums unless the game really deserves it, and the whole experience is fun. But this game is brilliant so I had to. Still playing some LBP of course as well.

And Vagrant story on the PSP. Don't recall if I completed that the first time, but I will this time.

Darksiders... really enjoying it, frame-rate hiccups and slightly wonky camera be****ed! Love the art-style, texture work and facial animations. Lip-syncing is great which even in this gen I find can be a bit hit-and-miss in many games. Voices are a bit gravelly and I feel there should be more female charries (to lighten up the voice-work a bit) but otherwise its good.

Combat is slightly unresponsive which I wasn't expecting and if you're used to Bayonetta/God of War it'll take a short while to get used to dashing not working the second you press the button.

Still so far I'm really enjoying the game, the constant upgrades are great and new things are introduced at a good enough pace that you're never bored. Pros outweight the cons by far. I highly recommend it. It's like an old-school action/adventure game but with a great art style. It's linear but allows enough exploration so that it doesn't feel like you're constantly being shoved forward.

So far it's 8-8.5/10. But it's a game that I enjoy enough that I will almost definitely finish it. Uncharted and AC2 might be more polished games overall but I can see myself finishing this before I finish them.
